My name is Maggie Allen. I’m a dedicated college student attending New York University and I’m from a good family from the Seattle area. My parents were married for over 25 years and were both moderately successful in their careers. My father, Daniel, recently passed away from a random and devastatingly brutal accident. It has affected everyone I know and love. I’m going to get him back, no matter what I have to do. It’s what he would’ve done for me.
Another wonderful story from a great author, Steve Wilhelm. I started reading it this afternoon and could not put it down. The story had me in tears at different times. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 More please, can I have some more.
***The reviews for each book in this series are individual to each particular book. However, I did read all three books, in order, prior to writing the reviews.***
I had a true excitement over seeing this story from a new character’s point of view, and learning if she’d make the same mistakes as Daniel, and if she’d ultimately right the wrongs made to everyone’s fate, primarily Daniel’s.
I enjoyed the connections Maggie had with the characters Daniel confided in as well. However, the pace of the story was slow for me. The prose was polluted with mundane conversations and daily activities. The connection that Maggie made with a major player in Daniel’s ‘actual’ life, while necessary, seemed bizarre to an extent—BUT, if fate is righting itself, then I guess all is fair in playing with fate.
The story was anticlimactic until nearly the end. That being said, the ending was emotional and delivered! I don’t think anyone sacrificed more throughout the entirety of the story than Maggie. She paid dearly to set the course as closely as possible to how it should have been. There’s a sadness in knowing the characters that I adore and admire aren’t in the first hand of cards that fate dealt, but such is life. The final deal in this game with fate was tied up beautifully.
Thank you, Mr. Wilhelm, for creating this world and these characters. It was a pleasure.
