LJ Swallow is a paranormal romance and urban fantasy author who is the alter-ego of bestselling contemporary romance author Lisa Swallow.
Giving in to her dark side, LJ spends time creating worlds filled with supernatural creatures who don’t fit the norm, and heroines who are more likely to kick ass than sit on theirs.
This was fast-paced and fun. A lot happens between solving some mysteries and the action throughout keeping things moving right along. This has also opened up some new doors that promise more interesting events in the future. Can't wait for the next book.
I am so glad to finally leave the Academy behind because I was starting to really get bored of it - especially as it didn't feel like the characters were ever actually doing any learning.
I found this book to be so hit and miss. On the surface, it sounds like it's going to be fantastic, and I was excited. But I read it in one sitting and I finished it and I was like did anything actually happen? It just felt like all people did all through this book was talk.
Well, not quite all talk because there was a lot more sex in this book than previous ones. Actually, I'm pretty sure that Maeve being able to have sex with Tobias was the whole purpose of this book.
Maeve bites off a little more than she can chew when she discovers who her father is. A curse is broken, but another one still remains in action. With Ash’s birthday passing and his first shift imminent, will the other shifters let him live his life or will he be forced into a position of power he never wanted?
Things are still intense for Maeve and the guys after the Academy is closed. Every time she gets answers, more questions seem to pop up. Time is ticking and evil is still on the loose, will Maeve be strong enough to stop it?
LJ Swallow is an author that gets better and better with each book. I was sitting on the edge of my seat and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough with excitement. The holy shizer moments in this book are rockstar perfect!! Maeve girl you can do this!! Guys hang in there. I don’t want to give away anything so that’s all I’m going to say. This is a series book continuation so if you want the best experience read the previous books first. I received an advanced copy of this book, I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This book is absolutely amazing. I have been waiting for this story for a while and it was so worth the wait. There are so many secrets that are revealed in this book and so many that have yet to be revealed. The steam level is definitely increased and I for one am happy with it as the characters have grown and changed quite a bit over time. I love Maeve and how strong she is despite everything that is going on in her life. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

I loved it! It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This series is a slow-burn sweet why choose romance. Perfect for lovers of books with a strong magical heroine who grows into her powers, swoon-worthy guys who love and protect her, and a supernatural world filled with magic, romance, and mystery. Welcome to Nightworld Academy (Ravenwood Academy to the outside world). At this academy, that is attended by witches, shifters, and vampires, one student's bloodline will be their salvation or a curse. Please note: this book contains more explicit adult content than the previous books. The events in this book take place immediately after Term Six and continues Maeve's story after the original six term series finished. That series must be read first. Maeve changed everybody's lives the day the academy fell, and now she can't see what the future holds for any of them. They survived the massacre at the academy and retreated to safety at the Winterfall estate, but life isn't calm. Her mother had four consorts; where are these men, and can they break the Winterfall curse? Tobias wants her to accept their situation, but she refuses to let this go. She’s obsessed with discovering more about her past, including which of Astrid Winterfall's men is her father. She knows the names of three, but she needs to find the fourth. Tracking the men down proves difficult, and their family reunions aren't easy because there's more to her legacy than she’s realized, for Astrid had secrets too. Her bond with Jamie grows as they spend more time together, Ash fights against a future that the shifter council expects him to embrace, and Andrei continues to struggle with the changes he's facing. The aftermath of the academy deaths has far-reaching consequences as the accords between the vampires, witches, and shifters begin to break. Gabriella survived that night, so where is she, and what are her plans to take advantage of the discord? I guess we will find out. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I highly recommend to everyone.
So we rejoin Maeve and her guys where they are sort of squatting at the Winterfall mansion. Jamie has been doing his best to find Maeve's "dads" and has finally tracked down one of them. Tomas, it turns out, is not her biological father but he knows where two more of her mother's former consorts are located. He is mute on the fourth one who only appears in one picture in Maeve's book on the Winterfall family. Eventually, Maeve gets a chance to meet them all and you will be shocked to learn who her bio dad is.
Meanwhile, Gabbriella is still in the picture. She has grown stronger and she is still trying to get her son back. The safeguards at the mansion property are keeping her away, but she does manage to get her hooks into Tobias. Ash is facing problems of his own as his dragon shifter status becomes known to the council when he partially shifts to get Matt and Amelia out of a situation at his family's bar. Jamie and Maeve finally come together, if you know what I mean. There is also a big change for Tobias that will rock you. The ending is a cliffhanger (shocking, I know).
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
Wow. Maeve's life is becoming way more challenging since leaving nightworld academy. Now holed up at her old family home with her four men, Ash is approaching his 21st birthday and his dragon is coming closer to the surface and the Shifter community want their hands on him in more ways than one. Jamie and Mauve's witchbond is getting stronger and there is a very interesting game of 'scrabble' between the two of them. Andrei is just Andrei. However the curse still holds between Mauve and Tobias, causing them both pain. Andrei's mother is back in the picture and she plays nasty. Mauve also discovers more about her own mother, Astrid, and her four consorts. The introduction of the four consorts, one of which is Mauve's dad, causes friction yet some resolutions too. Lots of magic, interesting new characters, the depth of storyline that this author is know for and a notch higher up the heat level made this book in the series, for me, the best one yet. Genuinely I couldn't put it down.
ok, the story is good, full of adrenaline and twists and turns and easy to read... BUT. But I can't get over the mistakes made by the author in her own story. I remember more easily, as a reader, the details of the story: before Ash was 19, now he's 21; the scales were purple, now they're blue; they're standing in one position, suddenly it's another; throughout the series I've seen inconsistencies in details or the actions of the characters but it's already too much, there are important details of the story that are not respected and confuse the reader. The story is good, interesting and the characters are delicious and somehow perfect combined, but these details and the mistakes make some readers not continue the series. Considering how many books the author has released, it gives me the impression that she's in a hurry to publish as much as possible without bothering to make sure that the book is good. The story has a lot of potential and I'm sorry it's not better known, but this shows the difference between a lazy author and one who gives everything he/she has to his/her book.
Holy friggin moly!!! Prepare yourselves now for the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers! This book is filled to the brim with revelations, surprises, and major changes for Maeve and her guys. Could they finally get answers to some of their questions? Things are far from boring in this one, that's for darned sure!!! Only downside is I'm desperate for the follow up N O W !!! If you've not yet read the previous books before, PLEASE do so first as this is definitely not a stand alone. Venture into this delicious, rich world filled with shifters, witches, vamps and more!!!! This book especially is filled with adrenaline inducing moments 😉💗
I absolutely loved this book!!! Definitely my favorite book of the series so far!!! So much happens and everything is so unexpectedly refreshing!!! It’s all so different to what I could’ve imagined would happen in this series, but for the better because the suspense and hope and longing all paid off. Maeve’s story is really coming together now, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! A great read; I highly recommend this book and series!!!
This was an absolutely amazing read! Seriously, I am so glad we are getting more from Maeve and her guys! I feel like we have finally gotten some answers, I've now (of course) got more questions but this book Ya'll! I could NOT put it down! Full of ALL the twists, turns and some seriously 🔥🔥🔥 chemistry (anyone for a round of scrabble or perhaps a nighttime stroll to the gardens 😉)... Winterfall Magic had it all and then some and I CANNOT wait for the next book!
Brilliant!! I was so sad when it ended !! The addition of the new characters is absolutely fantastic! Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better it became way more marvelous!!!!!!! I love Alexi I can’t wait to read more about him and the humor Xav and Nate add is amazing. I love how similar Astrid’s guys are to Maeve’s guys too !! And I love the twist at the end truly spectacular!!!!!!!!!!
Scrabble will NEVER be the same. Loved this book!!! I have loved these characters from the start of the Nightworld Academy series but their intensity turns up a notch in this book! I also can’t wait to see what happens in the planned books about how Maeve’s mother meets her ‘boys’ seem like a handful!!
I loved this. Mauve and the guys were certainly put through the ringer in this book. Where will the photos lead will they defeat Gabriella. Will they ever find a quiet life. Will she be able to get complete control over her magic. Questions questions questions and so long to wait until the next instalment of the winterfall tale.
I am completely blown away by how amazing this book is! It’s a fantastic follow on from the Nightworld Academy Term books and really goes into Maeve’s background and deeper relationships with the guys. I am very excited to read the next book in the series. Hopefully sooner rather than later! 🤞🏽🤞🏽
This was fine but not the best book I’ve ever read? We kind of have the same plot on loop with Gabriella but with some new elements to it. That said though, 7 books with the same villain can become a tad repetitive.
We have a lot of new characters here and it’s like our FMC just starts making the dumbest decisions possible? Where did the growth she had go?
I'm so glad the series didn't end! This continuation fills so many gaps I didn't know needed filling and gives us more moments with Maeve and her men! So excited for the next one!
Maeve and her men Tobias, Jamie, Ash, and Andrei have left the Academy and have retreated to the safety of Winterfall estate. She is on a mission to find her mother Astrid's four consorts and find out who her father was to break the curse but her mother has secrets we don't know yet.
So many answered questions, and yet so many more to answer. We learn more about the Winterfall family and what happened that night with Tobias. Ash learns more about the shifter plans. And there is so much more in between. Enjoy!
I am not going to tell you what is going on in the story, but you was looking for a reason to read this series then here it is. This a great story and take it from me you are going to want to read the whole series.
I enjoyed the characters and the story lines of this story. I would definitely recommend that it is to be read along with the other books in the series.
