We are living in an age of apostasy; an age of a great falling away from the life of holiness that God requires of kingdom citizens. We rationalize and minimize our sin and we rarely confess it, much less mourn over it. A good question to ask ourselves “When did I last grieve over my sin? When did I last grieve over my pride, my loose tongue, my anger, my selfishness?” Jesus, in His Sermon on the Mount leaves no doubt as to what He expects from those who profess to be His children. John R.W. Stout says of this sermon, “the Sermon on the Mount is probably the best known part of the teaching of Jesus, though arguably it is the least understood, and certainly it is the least obeyed.” Susan Heck will help you examine your life to make sure it matches up with what Jesus describes of those who belong to Him. Come, sit with the disciples at the feet of Jesus and listen to our blessed Master’s Sermon on the Mount.
