I found this book on a free reading app, so honestly I wasn't expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised with this book. The whole idea of the breeder story was super interesting to me and I was excited to read how she dealt with it and overcome it. Buttt everything went down hill pretty fast. It started out strong and I was super into it. But the grammatical errors got worse as it went on, and honestly it got pretty boring. There would be these super detailed scenes about the most random stuff, like a Walmart shopping trip. IDK it was just weird.

I finished this book in a day, and while I did enjoy it, there are definitely some flaws. In the beginning, it seems lovely, but as the pages go on and on, it seems as though there are quite a few formatting and grammatical errors. There are misspelled words and a huge lack of commas, especially when using honorifics. The timeline feels rushed, and some parts just don't make sense. The book also lacks descriptiveness. There are lots of times when the author repeats certain words or phrases. It makes it repetitive, and unenjoyable to read at some points.
There is potential for a second, but I definitely think the first needs to be revised and placed in an experienced editor's hands.

So-so

Ok, very amateur and unpolished. Needs a lot of editing. The plot was ok and the rape scene was meh...really didn't know what to think about the language around it.

Also, the drive home in and out of gas stations covered in blood? Way to stay low-key and hide existence. That made no sense to me.

Do NOT Read. Paedophilic and creepy

Trigger warning SA
This book made me feel disgusting, i kept hoping there would be something redeemable but no.

So not only is this book horrifically creepy by having the main characters "job" to be r*ped and pop out babies, she's also 16. Oh and its gets even worse, the Alpha who decided that her job was a breeder, admits to wanting to have sex with her WHEN SHE WAS 12! So major grooming going on and actual r*pe, but don't worry there seems to be little to no mental health repercussions of a brutal SA because two days later she's having "adult time" with her actual mate.... Who is 20+ years old.

On top of the most disgusting plot to a shifter novel, I am about 100% certain that this author didn't proofread their own book. There were egregious spelling mistakes that spell check should have caught, "burry" and "matrial" to point out a few. The author literally uses the description like "felt like Katniss from the Hunger Games when she was taken from her family in district twelve" instead of actually trying to create depth within the character. And there's the fact that there's a baby that's rarely around the mom, they just keep passing the baby off to family members.

Just don't read this book, I haven't read any of the other books by this author nor will I. This was a vile disgusting book and there's no way to ever justify writing something like this.

This book needed a good editor, a proof reader, and much more. I found it as a free book on Kindle after seeing an excerpt on facebook and that's just what it's worth. Dark themes of rape and abuse have a point in a good book. This book was pointless. It was a time waster for me, and that's what it is a waste of time. I gave the author the courtesy of finishing the book, but would rather warn others away.

*** Trigger warning***

This book deals with abused, rape, death (child) and being drugged. Also the violence is gory and nauseating. But there are also overload of sweetness sometime too much and detailed every lil thing our fmc does. I don't mind a bit of detail but this book over done it.

Okay, so this book started off great. However, as I read more and more it got worse and worse. I could ignore the grammatical errors at first, but as I got to 77% I could not stand a whole chapter describing a trip to Walmart and what she picked to eat for a movie night...like WTF?!? I do not pay to read about someone’s grocery store trip...that’s what I’m trying to escape while reading 🤣 Did the author just give up on her story and try to fill a book full of bullshit?!?! I also thought it was funny that the MC refers to the Walmart employee that helped push a cart outside as a teen because the MC herself was only a teen, which was kinda disturbing. I’m not sure how old her mate is but come on 😳🙄

The premise behind this book was decent. I liked most of the characters. There were a few instances where I felt like certain reactions were forced. The hardest part to get through were the spelling and grammar mistakes. I often had to reread lines to interpret them, which detracted from the story for me.

This is a sweet story but the reason it got 3 stars and maybe should have gotten a 2 is the spelling, punctuation, and grammer was horrid. I know it is free on Kindle, so I should not complain, but before a book is published it should go through some form of editing. Really bad.

wow

So over all the basics story was ok, it DEFINITELY needs edited. Lots of mistakes there but less than I would make it I was writing a book. The characters were ok but not extremely relatable but I think that is because the author is newer to writing. The detailed description of the bad guy forcing himself onto the main character is just disturbing and made me physically cringe, I found myself HOPING for a very gruesome punishment and was NOT disappointed. I think this book needs a disclaimer about its content mostly because how well the author was able to detail those truly horrible experiences the main character went through. I honestly cant wait to see how Alana Dyer grows in her craft. When she reaches a point where her character depth and development is as good as her ability to truly let a reader know how some experiences can touch someones soul she will be unstoppable.
Now with that being said the main character was raped repeatedly and those moments so well shown BUT afterwards there wasnt any issues, I would have loved to see how instead of her true mate being "protective and jealous" he was just protective and helping her feel safe while overcoming the truly horrible things she had to go through. This was hinted at but never really explored. Because the rape itself and the drugs she was given was so detailed I honestly felt the aftermath would have been addressed, but instead it was glossed over.

Sorry couldn’t give more stars

Ok firstly I want to say that the premise of this story is interesting and I would love to read more set in this universe.

Unfortunately the editing, or rather lack of editing, and the profuse amount of spelling errors meant that I honestly couldn’t give more than 2 stars.

The book starts off a bit weird where it seems to be one long internal monologue, but then progresses nicely, although the ending is rushed. The spelling errors start off as a typo here and there and progress into stupid errors that even a extremely basic spellcheck would catch.

I note that the author thanks someone personally for reading and editing the book, which is lovely but I have to say that maybe get someone else to do it too, someone who will use a spellcheck.

This is the second book I have read from this author, I thought the first book I read was bad for spelling errors, but this one is so much worse. I wouldn’t expect to see half as many spelling errors even in a rough draft.

All in all, if you can ignore the multitude of spelling errors and the rushed ending, it’s a decent book with an interesting idea behind it.

Started off well

The book began really well, and I was hooked. However, the story slowed and became somewhat boring. Chapters kept starting with Laina waking and the bright lights hurting her eyes, focusing on her needing to eat all the time etc.

The blasé attitude the author seems to have when including the final rape seem is somewhat disturbing. Tate rescues Laina just after she has been raped. The emotions and impacts of that rape aren't really addressed. The attitude of the book felt like "oh well, it happened, time to move on."

This is the second book by this author that I've read. At the beginning of the book I was hopeful that it would be brilliant. Sadly the immature writing style took over. The overall tone of the book didn't match the writing style. There is an extremely heavy storyline in this book involving rape and how women are victimised. Yet its all solved by saying "love you" countless times, waking up in a bed in uncomfortable light and eating food.

Just disappointing. Hopefully the author takes a bit more time to be sensitive if she's going to write a book containing such graphic depictions of rape again.

ugh

Seriously where are the trigger warnings?! This book has SA that’s written as if it weren’t. There’s pregnancy loss.

Glad Liana got her HEA. The world building and such were so hard to follow. The grooming aspect was gross. I liked the characters but some of the bad ones turned on a dime. Like abbey was bad but she wasn’t immediately and suddenly she was? I’m not sure what was going on but it was fine. I had to skim at one point because so much was happening but nothing of any importance. Like why put in a story about the creation of vampires and werewolves and then suddenly have Tate in a coma? Like what was the reason?

I wouldn’t read it again honestly and I wouldn’t suggest it either.

Not sure how to rate this book. Writing was good. Storyline was unique . The main h was sexually assaulted over the course of a week by her alpha. She was 16. It glossed over the nitty gritty which for me was good as that is a bit of trigger. But there was no mention of her mentally afterwards. She just continues on with her life when she gets away. Maybe we are to assume it’s the shifter part that helps her heal mentally? She meets her mate who had to grow on me but I did eventually like him. She again gets sexually assaulted by her former alpha and at least this time it showed her having bad dreams until they got home. Overall it was interesting story to read. And I read it in one day.

First the good. I really liked the storyline. I'm not huge into werewolf/shifter books, but I really liked the premise. The writing was mostly good, which leads me to the bad......

Did anyone proof read this? Like no one? I almost gave up due to the sheer number of spelling, grammar, and continuity/timing errors. There were times the writing was fantastic, and then it was like suddenly a different person was writing, it read almost like a creative writing essay.

I'm sorry to say, but just be warned before reading that there are times it's hard to get through due to all the errors! It kind of ruined the story!

Best book I've read from this author

What a powerful explosive story!!! The lead heroine is strong, smart, and determined regarding her being a breeder. Take the wolf out of the storyline and I can also see it happening in real life. This author is fantastic at creating a story. Her characters are a mix of different personalities. The storyline flows like a stream, going to a waterfall, and ending at a lake. The story builds and builds with each chapter. This is a MUST READ book. I loved every page of this book. I had this book done in 4 hrs!!!

Sad to say I read this amazing story free before I realized it was published. I'd really love the author to know it is a great book and I hope there's many more!
The runaway breeder feared for not just herself or the future she may provide for children because as a Breeder she was not at liberty to even hope. When she's finally able to run she goes and finds so much more than she ever dreamed. She learns even more as her life takes new turn after new turn.

Great dark shifter story!

Well done! Read those warnings folks! Childbirth loss, non con etc. but not by the hero. Child grooming is also involved but just discussed as past instances. I am not saying that makes it ok but easier to read emotionally. It is part of who she is as a character and builds her into who she becomes. While dark things happen, there is plenty of light to balance it. I cried and laughed with them. Great first book!

1.5

This book was, objectively, bad. I was intrigued by the premise, but the execution was lackluster at best.

Between the focus on arbitrary conversations over character/relationship development, the constant tense changes, and the myriad spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors, this book was actually painful to read. Also, the baby was, quite literally, never with the main character.

I hope that the author's other books are at least proofread, but I won't be reading them to find out.

So amazing

I am one of those mysterious Wattpad readers who read the story before all the added depth....and it was wonderful then but beyond amazing now. The depth and growth within the story is astounding and the fact there is more action and deception just keeps you reading. Love the story and can't wait for more. 💖

Great P!ot

Great story, I enjoyed it. My only issue, because I cannot help it, was the mis-spelled and incorrect words, and a few mistakes in the timing. It breaks my concentration on the story. It needed a little more fleshing out of characters. Will keep this Author in mind to try again.

I don't know how this works. I saw a preview of this book, I want to read this book, is this not where I read books? I looked online for the book and besides wattpad, which is crap, it's listed on Amazon Kindle and here. I don't have a kindle so, I came here to read it. I can review it, I can rate it, but I can't read it? Is that how this works or am I missing something?

I read this book twice because I loved the beginning and hoped about 70% through till the end would have been fixed and more added.
Very upset a good story was ruined by what I feel is rushed work.
You have so many books but worried about reading others seeing how this great story line turned out incorrectly written

Mixed feelings

The book started out slow then after a few chapters became brilliant and emotional. But near the end was disappointed just felt the ending could have been better it felt a little rushed.
Also felt that the baby was an after thought within the story.
Good story and idea but just needed a little more time spent on it I feel.

The Runaway breeder

I really loved the book The Runaway Breeder by Alana Dyer. It has amazing characters. The heroine is exceptionally strong. The hero supportive of her. There are a few tense issues and a bit of misspelling.

I bloody loved it. A book I would read over and over again. It was a nonstop page turner for me. I dont know it was because of the concept of forced breeding or the obsessive protection the main character got from her mate. This book made me swoon a bit because I could somewhat relate.
