Everything in his life is planned. How’d she get on his agenda?
Quint Fairchild, head of Fairchild Films, learned long ago that in Hollywood everything’s make believe, including love. So why can’t he resist the small town innocence of struggling scriptwriter Chrystelle Bach? She’s entirely too fascinating, but he can convince himself he doesn’t want her⸻he wants her script.
Chrystelle wishes she could spend Christmas with her beloved grandmother in her Colorado hometown. Then Quint offers her a contract to produce her TV series. She almost believes this is the best Christmas ever⸻until she reads the contract. He doesn’t just want rewrites, he wants her to change everything. The battle begins, but when Chrystelle’s grandmother takes ill, Chrystelle knows where she belongs and hops the next bus home.
What she hadn’t expected was Quint on her front porch, and not to wish her a Merry Christmas. He wants her script⸻on his terms, of course. Their conflict continues, but the more time Chrystelle spends with this stubborn billionaire, the harder it is for her to remember why she can’t change her script. But sprinkle this battle with grandmotherly wisdom and holiday charm, and the season of blessings reveals love in more ways than Chrystelle and Quint ever imagined.
A lovely contemporary romance! I enjoyed the relationship that developed between Chrystelle and Quint. In fact, I really connected with Chrystelle coming from a small town and earnestly trying to make her dreams come true in Hollywood without losing her integrity. That really stood out for me. It was a solid line of moral integrity that wasn't crossed. I respected her stance and was therefore vested in reading about Chrystelle and Quint's love story to the very end.
I found this book to be a very good read if you enjoy stand alone romances with a sweet HEA. A perfect cozy story for romance lovers.
I get that authors don't want to cycle through the same handful of names for their protagonist, but at least provide me with your pronunciation so I can avoid getting pulled out of the story every few minutes when the name comes up. I am always second guessing if I am pronouncing it correctly.
Aside from that soapbox, I didn't enjoy the fact that there wasn't much build up in the relationship between Quint and Chrystelle (Crys-tell?). This book isn't worthy of a repeat read.
The Billionaire’s Christmas Gift by Laura Haley-McNeil
I enjoyed this story, especially as the billionaire finds that he still has things to learn. It would be a good book with which to curl up on a quiet afternoon.
This is a stand-alone contemporary romance with clean language, some kissing, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a HEA. It’s a novel at 304 pages which didn’t take as much time to read as I was expecting so it is a light, quick read with just an occasional typo and no noticeable grammatical errors.
Small town girl goes to Hollywood and teaches the billionaire that not everyone has a price; so he follows her back to her hometown because he has trouble believing it and finds out that he wants more than just her script. The story is clean and simple, and the leads are adequately developed though more depth is needed for all the characterizations. A lot of the scene descriptions are minimally described and left up to the readers’ imaginations. Overall, it is a nice, sweet read but could generally use more depth.
It is a sweet, well-written story; so I give it a B (4 stars).
I was given an ARC of this book in the hopes that I would voluntarily leave an honest review.
The Billionaire's Christmas Gift by Laura Haley-McNeil Christmas Billionaire Christmas Series Book One Chrystelle Bach has been in LA for two and a half years. She came here from her small town of Gwilliams, Colorado, to be a screenwriter. So far she's anything but. A limo driver, waitress, bartender...but she's not one to give up. And now, she finally has her chance to get her script into the right hands.
Quinton Fairchild has taken over Fairchild Films for his dad. He's done well. So when a new script is given to him, he likes it...but wants some changes. The author of the script wants it just as it is. She'll change her mind though because Quinton always wins.
Breaking into Hollywood as a screenwriter is tough but Chrystelle Bach is determined to succeed, even if she has to work three jobs and share an apartment with seven other people to survive in the meantime. So far, no one has picked up her best script but this time it will be different. Her job as a chauffeur is giving her a chance to offer it to Quint Fairchild, the chief executive of Fairchild Films, when she drives for him today.
Quint makes a point of giving Hollywood unknowns a chance and he is looking for a period piece for the basis of a new series, but he did not expect his chauffeur to provide it; especially not a chauffeur with golden eyes.
Chrystelle and Quint are meant to be together but I liked that Chrystelle puts her principles before money and is even willing to sacrifice her feelings for Quint. I received an advanced reader copy but my review is honest and voluntary. Quint is a keeper and so is this book. Kudos to Laura Haley-McNeil!
I loved how strong Chrystelle was and stuck to her beliefs and didn’t let money rule her. I can’t imagine being from a small, old fashion town near Aspen and going to Hollywood to try and sell her script about her strong great-great grandmother. I was so glad she had to pick Quint up as one of her limousine fairs so she was able to give him her script. Even though he liked the script, he wanted to change a few things that Chrystelle would not change and left his office. It was so heartwarming to see Quint in her small town and the amazement he felt visiting her family and the two . This was a heartwarming book that I encourage you to read. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
Love, love, loved it! The writing for The Billionaire's Christmas Gift is excellent without annoying typos or grammatical errors. The premise of the story is very original, with good family values. The book has a swoon-worthy male lead, who is honest enough to admit when he's wrong. The female lead is vulnerable, and yet strong in her beliefs and values. Great story with HEA. I was given a copy of this book pre-release for my honest opinion. This book was my first reading of one of Laura Haley-MeNeil's books, and I will be buying and reading other books written by her!
This was a very sweet story! I appreciate the genuine characters and story without any gratuitous sex scenes. They both have beliefs and morals which they uphold!
That said, I liked our heroine and her desire to not sell out her great great grandmother's story just to sell her screenplay! I enjoyed Chrystelle's family, especially her grandmother.
This is the first book of Laura's I have read and it will not be the last! I was blessed to be chosen for an ARC and am providing my review voluntarily!
I loved this Christmas, Hollywood billionaire, small town romance novel. It was very thorough and I loved the emphases of family, history, and character. It was wonderful to see these two experience things together and learn about the history of the town through the experiences of an exceptional woman. It was a great read and I’m thrilled to know it’s part of a series!
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The pace at the beginning of this book felt a bit frantic but when the protagonists determination and convictions were evident, it settled down into an enjoyable story. The close family was sweet and the setting of a small mountain town was a nice touch.
A story demonstrating a family's strong determination to maintain moral integrity & their family history of serving others. They refused to give in to cheapening the story by including a brothel as the beginning. Instead, their relative helped & educated the women who were working in the brothel.
I love Chrystelle and Quint!! They are both so good. Laura Haley-McNeil nailed it with this book. Great characters. I love how Chrystelle wasn't willing to sell out. She had her mind made up and wouldn't back down. Find out what I mean and read this book. This is worth the read. I received a free advanced copy of this book, but I leave this review by my choice.
I really enjoyed this heartwarming story and all the great characters. The chemistry between these two was really sweet. This is a sweet, clean romance and I loved it!
This is the first book by Laura Haley-McNeil that I have read. I really liked how her heroine wasn’t in Hollywood trying to make money but was trying to tell a inspiring story and I loved how she wouldn’t compromise her beliefs. I loved how Quint changed how he saw the world as he got to know Chrystelle better. I thought this was a sweet Christmas and I loved the story that Chrystelle was trying to tell. I like the romance between the two characters and how the characters seemed believable. I will definitely look into reading more by this author.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
I loved this book. Books featuring billionaires tend to have an arrogant CEO who doesn't waste their time with other people outside their social circle. Not this one, Quint may have been born into a privileged family but he still had to work hard for everything he has, his parents never handed him anything. I also love when the Hollywood hotshot falls for the small-town girl. Such a great book to get into the holiday spirit. In fact...this needs to be a Hallmark Christmas movie!
Chrystelle and Quint's story hooks you on the first page. Their story has just the right amount of drama and romance to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Wonderful book! I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
The characters are so captivating. I enjoyed the story from the first chapter. What a great Christmas book. Readers will enjoy this book like a warm cup of cocoa on a snowy winter day.
I wanted spice and it wasn’t there. The first 10% could use a lot more development as far as background story for our MCs and plot goes - I mean our FMC gets to be Cinderella for a night but the progression leading up to that was too fast and had no excitement of wanting that moment to be THE moment for our couple. And then once we reach her running back home, the plot was still lacking luster and the warmth of a romance. Their kisses were BORING and read like she as kissing a brother 🤮.
The Billionaire's Christmas Gift by Laura Haley McNeil. A great book that is beautifully written with a strong plot, that brings the characters together, one a Hollywood producer the other an up and coming screenwriter. A unique story that comes to life on each page. Excellent and spellbinding story and truly a must-read.
This is a great story about someone wanting to be a screenwriter in Hollywood. Chrystelle Bach has to work 3 jobs to make ends meet. Quint Fairchild runs a studio -- will Chrystelle be able to get him to take a look at her script? This is a clean, no cliff-hanger, HEA story. I received an ARC.
The Billionaire's Christmas Gift by Laura Haley-McNeil is a wonderful story that takes a billionaire and a poor screen writer and gets them together. Laura Haley-McNeil develops a wonderful story with hints of Cinderella. The characters are well developed and very believable . I enjoyed the story and so will you.
Yay!😁 It was fun reading this book! Great work writing this novel. Just could not put it down. Can't wait to read more of your books. Lovely characters!
I volunteered for an ARC of this book. I found it to be a great read. I loved the strong characters who differed in their opinions. I liked that Chrystelle stuck to her guns about her script portraying her strong great grandmother. Looking forward to reading other books in this series
I mean it was cute…but so drawn out and repetitive both main characters kept saying the same things over and over again!! The writing was weird and just very novice and the characters were flat and one dimensional.
Laura Haley-McNeil’s The Billionaire's Christmas Gift, the engaging first book in her Christmas Billionaire Series, skillfully captures the warmth and charm of the holiday season through a captivating blend of romance, ambition, and heartfelt moments. Set in the glittering yet challenging world of Hollywood, the story follows Chrystelle Bach, a determined aspiring screenwriter juggling multiple jobs to survive in Los Angeles, and Quinton Fairchild, the influential CEO of Fairchild Films.
The novel opens compellingly as Chrystelle, moonlighting as a limousine driver, finds herself chauffeuring Quint, inadvertently seizing the opportunity to pitch her screenplay. This chance encounter sets off a chain of events filled with romance, personal growth, and self-discovery. Readers will quickly become invested in Chrystelle’s relatable struggles and aspirations, as well as Quint’s journey to balance his demanding career with personal connections.
Haley-McNeil’s writing is fluid and engaging, effortlessly blending romantic tension with vivid descriptions of Hollywood’s glamor and the more grounded realities behind the scenes. Her dialogue is witty, authentic, and enhances character interactions, notably between Chrystelle and Quint, whose chemistry is palpable and believable.
Characterization is a standout in this novel, particularly the portrayal of Chrystelle as a determined, ambitious young woman whose courage and genuine spirit resonate strongly. Quint Fairchild is equally compelling as a character—charismatic yet genuinely caring, adding emotional depth to the billionaire trope. Secondary characters, including the vibrant supporting staff and Hollywood personalities, further enrich the narrative, providing layers of interaction and humor.
Thematically, Haley-McNeil adeptly explores ambition, authenticity, and the pursuit of dreams amid the realities of life's obligations. The contrast between Chrystelle’s humble beginnings and Quint’s privileged status highlights compelling themes of personal integrity and perseverance. However, some readers may feel the pacing occasionally accelerates too rapidly, especially concerning Chrystelle and Quint’s evolving relationship. Allowing further development in key emotional transitions could deepen the readers’ emotional investment.
The ideal audience for The Billionaire's Christmas Gift includes readers who love contemporary romance, particularly those drawn to stories set amidst the allure and complexity of Hollywood. Fans of feel-good holiday romances will especially appreciate the charming seasonal elements skillfully woven throughout the narrative.
Overall, The Billionaire's Christmas Gift delivers a charming and enjoyable romantic read that expertly combines festive cheer, engaging characters, and genuine emotional warmth, promising a delightful experience for romance enthusiasts.

But sprinkle this battle with grandmotherly wisdom and holiday charm, and the season of blessings reveals love in more ways than Chrystelle and Quint ever imagined. This is Chrystelle Bach and Quint Fairchild's story. At six o’clock in the morning, Chrystelle Bach guided the limousine down the Beverly Hills street lined with towering palm trees. For the two and a half years she’d lived in Hollywood, she’d never get used to palm trees decorated with Christmas lights. Christmas. She’d spent the last two Christmases away from home, away from Gwilliam Park, Colorado. Away from family and friends preparing for the holiday that warmed her heart. Quint Fairchild burst through the studded entrance doors. His powerful build was covered in a button-down shirt and tailored slacks, and his square jaw was chiseled enough to cut glass. He fastened his cuffs as he drummed down the granite steps. Racing after him was a thin man in a gray suit juggling portfolios, a briefcase and a laptop sleeve. Chrystelle froze and stared at the man charging toward her. The one time she saw Quint Fairchild had been at a distance. I recommend reading. The Billionaire’s Christmas Gift by Laura Haley-McNeil is a wonderful well written 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books Laura Haley-McNeil. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
She's an aspiring scriptwriter, working three jobs in Hollywood while waiting for the perfect chance to pitch her most prized work. He's the chief executive of one of Hollywood's most successful film studios. One fateful day, she gets to be his chauffeur. She seizes the moment and dares to sell him her life's work, a script for a television series that is based on the life and works of her great-great grandmother. And then, as they say, the rest is history.
Well, of course it wasn't as straightforward as that. Quint Fairchild, the executive, wanted to make crucial changes to the script which the writer, Chrystelle Bach, would not agree to. No matter how much money was offered to her to change it. And it was precisely that refusal to budge from her stance, despite the money being offered to her, that Quint would likewise also not relent in his quest to change her mind. Along the way, Quint learns more about the woman in Chrystelle''s story, and how much of her is being lived on in Chrystelle herself. An undeniable attraction begins to brew between the two, though Chrystelle is naturally reluctant to believe anything real can happen between them because of their status differences. Really, how could someone as accomplished and wealthy like Quint want someone as simple and lowly like her?
I can't help but be attracted to this kind of trope, one where a highly successful and powerful man becomes intensely drawn and attracted to a simple yet talented and independent woman. And in this book, Chrystelle was perfect to me. She was real enough to herself to recognize the powerful attraction she had to Quint, but not so naive as to instantly believe she had a strong chance with him, given how far apart they were in terms of their careers. She endured the heartbreak of his departure, but knew realistically that there couldn't have been more to them. I liked that she did not overly pine over him, and more so that she did not fold in her convictions about her script despite the sum she was offered by Quint to alter it. It was captivating to read until the end, wondering how their conflict would be resolved and how they would come into their happy ever after.
This is the first book I've read by this Author and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book was well written, and although the story line was engaging it wasn't really a new plot. Chrystelle the female lead worked exceptionally hard to get where she wanted to be, but hardships meant it took some time to get what she wanted, then she meets Quint Fairchild. a man with hoodles of money and holds the means to Chrystelle getting what she wants, but he believes everyone has their price and can be bought but 'Thank Goodness' Chrystelle proves she has mettle and stands fast against his persuasive attempts, although he does kiss her a time or two, or perhaps three, which knocks her off kilter. Chrystelle's extended family are a delight, particularly her grandma and niece and nephew, Qints parents are what they are, billionaires, although his father shows he has both business sense, and consideration for talented people. The story is sweet and the couple's developing feelings for one another left that Hamas feeling. I would thoroughly recommend this book and I look forward to the next in the series.
This slow burn, clean and sweet romance is about Chrystelle, a wannabe screenwriter who has been living in LA for over two years trying to find a production company to view her script. She has a perfect opportunity when she is working as a limo chauffeur and has to pick up Quinton Fairchild who happens to be head of a production company. Quint is a high powered, Hollywood producer and he takes a liking to her immediately and reads her script which she had nervously thrust into his hands. What follows is his offer to produce her script but with changes. She refuses as the script is based on a real person, her great-great-grandmother, Eleanor and she wants her to be portrayed as she really was. Quint visits Gwillian, her hometown and the more time he spends with her and her family there, the deeper he is sucked into the history of the place and her family's love story between her ancestors, Eleanor and Noah. Chrystelle was a very principled young lady who stuck to her guns and Quint was a very likeable man with hidden depths. This charming story had an interesting storyline and was a lovely, heartwarming read.
