The Demon Squad MC #1

Kingdom's Reign

Rate this book
A grieving biker. A brokenhearted woman. Can love heal their wounds?

Since the death of his patch brother, Kingdom has felt nothing but rage and loss. Until, he meets Sage on a trip to a tattoo shop to get fresh ink for his fallen brother. She’s sexy. Brilliant. And exactly the kind of challenge that makes him ache. If asked whether he deserved her love, Kingdom's straight-up answer would be hell no. But, nothing will stop him from taking what’s his. Not even her.

Being a no-nonsense defense attorney, the second Sage caught her fiancé cheating she'd swore off men. While breaking that rule for a tatted up member of an MC seems like a monumentally bad idea, she can’t fight her attraction to Kingdom. When he invites her on a ride, she finds herself wanting so much more. Sage yearns to indulge in one of the sexiest and most dangerous men she's met but fears risking her battered heart.

Can the unlikely pair help each other move on from the wounds of the past? Or will club tensions with a rival MC find a way to use their weaknesses against them?

About Monique

Growing up in New York City, I used to walk the hot pavements in the melting heat of the long summers, and dream. Uptown to downtown, eastside to the westside, and underground to catch a subway racing out into the boroughs.

During my wanderings, my magic pencil spun out fantasies full of romance, with first meetings, heartbreaks, and reunions. Sometimes my boy crush (unrequited, of course) starred as the hero.

I grew up, and after a stint in art school, became a lawyer ‘cuz a woman’s got to make a living. I came from parents who fled to France as refugees, and as an attorney, I dedicated my work to helping survivors of trauma and persecution.

I believe in them. In their grit, in their determination to hold on, to pull through and, somehow, someway, to keep themselves intact, body and soul.

Perhaps that is why I am drawn to writing stories of men and women who live through heart-rending pain, desperate yearnings and, ultimately, reach a place of redemption.

For a long time, I fought the urge to veer off the expected, safe path until I couldn’t go on unless I took a chance and made a change. I began to write, stopped, and began again. Finally, I gave in and here I am.
Come join me on my journey…

This was a great start to an MC series from a new debut author. The storyline was well written and thought out. The characters were great: a strong, sexy alpha male and a sexy sassy independent female. Both characters are struggling: Kingdom from the guilt he feels over his MC and Special Ops Brother, Chopper’s death and Sage from her self doubts stemming from her ex.

Kingdom and Sage have chemistry off the charts but their lives couldn’t be more opposite. He’s a rough, dirty talking biker and she is a prim and proper attorney. The author takes the reader on one bumpy, sexy ride as Kingdom and Sage lives start to intertwine,

I highly recommend grabbing up Kingdom’s Reign and getting in from the start with the Demon’s Squad MC. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for a great read and this reader is looking forward to seeing what happens next with the Demon Squad MC Brothers.

I really liked this debut book by Monique. I just had to keep going since it was hard to put down, another book hangover. Kingdom is full of rage and self-blame for the death of his fellow brother Chopper. He meets Sage when he goes to get a tattoo in Chopper's memory. He's impressed as she doesn't take any crap from him and is not afraid to stand up to him when he needs it. Sage is filling in for Camilla in reception at Angel's tattoo shop. Is not her usual job since she works as a criminal attorney from her own business attached to her home. Sage comes up for a better idea for his tattoo in memory of Chopper making him want her even more. Sage is impressed with Kingdom from the moment she claps her eyes on him. Normally Angel the tattoo artist doesn't cower to other men but Kingdom was clearly a man to be taken with care. Cutter and Tank who came along with Kingdom wait in the waiting room while Kingdom has his tatt done. Cutter just can't help himself and has to tease Sage but she can hold her own and gives as good back. More than once after his visit Kingdom finds his mind going back to Sage and everything he would do to her. Kingdom manages to get Sage's business address from Camilla when he makes a visit a couple of weeks later to finish off his tattoo. His mind gets possessive of Sage thinking of all the things that could go wrong in her position. When he arrives at Sage's address he's not happy she has her office next door to her residence and dreams all the scenarios that could happen to her.
I loved the hotness between Sage and although Kingdom had a stare that would bring the strongest man to his knees it didn't phase Sage. She turns out to be the dominant one in the relationship and Kingdom is very possessive of her and has people watching out for her. They are a very hot and passionate couple though with Kingdom being an mc v.p there are some people willing to throw some doubts in their relationship.
I received an arc for an honest review for NNBB. I loved this story and found the book hard to put down. I shall definitely be reading more from Monique.

This is the first in a series, and a debut from this author who has done a wonderful job in penning this tale. Kingdom is the VP of his MC and goes into a tattoo shop to get a tat in memory of one of his fallen brothers. Sage is a workaholic defence attorney who is sworn off men after catching he ex cheating, and she is filling in at the tattoo shop for her friend, and she helps him choose the right tattoo. These two have an instant connection between them and Kingdom has certainly met his match as Sage is more that capable of standing up for herself. This is a well written tale which is raw, gritty, intense, emotional, and is a steamy and all-consuming story. I was hooked and intrigued throughout, and I will certainly be looking out for this authors’ work in the future, and I recommend this story for all MC lovers.

I normally don’t read MC romances, but I had the opportunity to read this one when I received an ARC. The blurb appealed to me so I thought I’d give it a chance. I’m so glade I did!

Reign is the VP of the MC and has been suffering since his best friend/brother in arms died by his own hand. He meets Sage at the tattoo shop and she helps him decide on a tattoo to memorialize his friend. Sage has no interest in men the last few years since she discovered her fiancée cheating on her a few months before their wedding. She has thrown herself into her law practice.

These two strong personalities are so drawn to each other. Neither can resist the dominance or sass of the other and those around them enjoy watching the two unlikely lovers fall for each other.

Their relationship is intense and they encounter some emotional and difficult situations which force them to dig deep and fight for what they want or to walk away.

This book was fairly light compared with what I’ve heard other MC romances described as being. Crude language, steamy scenes and situations but nothing too dark. I really enjoyed this book and will look for other books by this author in the future, as I believe this was her debut novel. The storyline, plot and characters are all well crafted.

Ah...
First of all, I don't read MC books, at all
I do not like the setting, I do not dig the manwhoring and sharing of the so called bunnies, or in this case "biker bitches"...*sigh* I mean really, the very first sign of my irritation, it's not sexy, it's not smth you'd feel special for - being called a bitch!

And here, it's such a pointed out notion, that all women are bitches, with tits and ass, and all they are good for is fucking...seriously?!

But then the main character - Kingdom, who's suffering from "survival's guilt" by loosing his MC brother and he has a hard time dealing with it - sees a lush spitfire "who isn't afraid of him and gives him sass but she can also see him" (I mean, first of all, the point that it's emphisized here is that women are weak and need to be protected at all cost by a dominant man....*sigh* and *roll eyes*) and well, he decides that she'll be his - but he doesn't "claim" her, so she's nowhere by her "status" and she actually feels all the insecurities and low self-esteem now, than she ever felt before meeting the man in the first place...there's OW drama, of course, and then the heroine (and that's stretched) fleds cause some "biker bitch" bragged how Kingdom fucked her and filled her with his come... (well, ain't that the case of "dumb and dumber")...

I mean, if that's the case you heard, wouldn't you really check directly with the party in question aka your man then some woman, you have never met before and really knows nothing about either of you...hence the heroine is weak and insecure and suddenly immature...gah!!!!
*drops mic*

*deep sigh*
I disliked this story and it's characters, but I have to admit, they actually weren't that bad like I thought they would be since I started reading...LOL, damn, it's just the fact that the tendencies in this book are really lacking in showing the actual respect for women, they were portrayed as strong and bold without men and then what when they see/feel a dick, they lose all self-respect and self-awareness...and every thing else that made them - themselves...again, seriously?!

Sure there were parts that worked and were well written BUT then the whole controlling caveman shit was almost bordering with misogynistic outline...I mean, I don't care that this whole thing is a part of the MC world...ahem, not true! It's bullshit!!!

Even though, I don't like this trope, I have read the books with this theme, since I don't tend to be one sided in anything in life, so I read everything...and there were books of this trope that were better written with no such notions or negative vibes like I have received in this book...

and unfortunately, me being a masochist, I had to see if I was wrong in my perception, so I read the book 2 afterwards Cutter's claim (now, I really had a problem with that one and the main character Cutter, who is a dom, and I pushy motherfucker with giving out commands to the woman, like she's a dog...and is a man whore and what ever not, and all this caveman bullshit...I almost puked)

So, I'm clear to say that the writing style or the portrayal of either characters (male and female) do not sit well with me in these books and I won't be venturing into this world by this author.

And that's okay, I'm sure that there are plenty of readers who will enjoy and are enjoying this kind of books.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: mc, instalust
Angst: 😱😱😱1\3
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥1\2

Great intro to the series, it took me a little to actually like the MMC, he is just super over the top obnoxious at first, lol. This one wasn't too heavy on the plot, just relationship drama because of her previous relationship. Club girl drama and club brother drama as well that will likely finish playing out in a later book. May try one more if I like the tropes and the MMC 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I am in the minority here...I know. I bought this book based on all of the 5 star ratings and I have to say, I am terribly disappointed. There is sex, basically just to have sex, there isn't a "plot" and the characters are crass basically, just to be that way. I don't know if the author did some sort of research before writing this book, and this is how she feels a biker club is, but...no.

1st, no way would someone that has been patched for only 4 years be the VP. Just wouldn't happen. Well, unless the club was 4 years old and he was a founding member.

Camilla runs the tattoo shop, has since forever and Kingdom has never met her or heard of her? That seemed super inconsistent in the story line for me.

Then there is a scene where Sage and Kingdom are talking about his tattoo, and the word "tat" is thrown out and used, no less than 46 times. No kidding...tat, not tattoo, or ink or anything else, just some slang word tat, it's like she wanted everyone to know, bikers use slang.

The maturity level in these "bikers" is nil. ALL of the hard ass bikers I have read about or met in real life, are super mature and serious. Just to much...fakeness in this one.

This was my first and last in this series. All of the punctuation and grammar issues, paired with all fo the inconsistencies and plain bad writing, Just didn't work for me.

This was a good debut book. I applaud the author for having the courage of putting her words out there. The book was lighter than I was expecting, and struggled with wanting to shake the characters at times.
This book is done in third person POV, which is a rarity these days, so it threw me a bit at times, but could still see the talent and effort put in. Has a lot of potential, so support a newbie author and give this book a shot.
Keeping this review short and sweet as with time comes growth and all authors have to start somewhere.
Well done to her!

Ah, I do love me a good MC romance, and this was definitely a fun read.

After losing his patch brother and comrade-in-arms, Chop, Kingdom started a hard downward spiral. A decision to commemorate his memory with a tattoo puts him in direct contact with Sage, a defense attorney who just happens to make his blood boil. Their attraction is immediate and after falling into bed, feelings quickly run deep. Kingdom and Sage know they can’t stay away from each other, but before they can truly be together, they need to get over past hurt and current insecurities.

So, I’ve read a few MC romance books and I have to admit, I do enjoy a strong, alpha male and Kingdom is no exception. His character exudes masculinity and I love that Sage (usually) doesn’t put up with his crap and is (mostly) a strong, independent female. I was happy to read see that both went through some character development and they ended up healing each others’ pain. At the same time, however, I wasn’t a huge fan of how Sage turned into a complete puddle of hormones at the mere thought of Kingdom. I understand lust, but at moments, it was a little much. I also wish there was a bit more about the Demon Squad. I appreciate the focus on Kingdom and Sage’s relationship, but personally, I would’ve liked a bit more background.

Kingdom’s Reign is a passionate, hot-as-hell novel with many steamy, steamy scenes. I very much enjoyed Kingdom and Sage’s journey and this is definitely a guilty pleasure novel! Recommended for anyone who loves MC’s and big, bad bikers!

Thank you Voracious Readers and Monique Moreau for my copy!

This is the first book that I've read by this author. I love MC romances so when I get a chance to find a new favorite author or series I devour them. I had issues with this one.

To begin with Kingdom who is VP of the Demon Squad MC lost a brother . He felt a lot of guilt and rage that he didn't save Chop. This made him withdraw from women and his brothers. That is until he walked into a tattoo shop to get a tribute tattoo for his fallen brother and meets Sage.

Sage is a lawyer so you have to read to see why he meets her at the tattoo shop. That being said I am an alpha addict and Kingdom was definitely controlling, bossy, and all alpha man. I actually enjoy that kind of attitude normally but some reason some of the stuff he said just hit me the wrong way. I've never met an alpha who was too ott for me so why this was I can't tell you.

The interaction between Sage and Kingdom was what kept me reading. The story was the part I didn't connect with. This is very relationship and character driven while the story was underdeveloped.

I did enjoy the book and the last 30% had better writing . I am assuming this author wrote the story over time and improved by then. That being said I am sure she will get even better from there.

I also had an issue. When I started this I was unsure if it was a paranormal type romance with the name of the MC and the way the book started out. I went into this blind so perhaps it was just me. I'm not sure. I kept waiting for the paranormal part and it never happened so I'm not sure what made me think that.

This story could use some improvement but it wasn't bad. I am excited to see what this author does in the future.

Detailed Review: https://bit.ly/3ly9cuA
I received a free arc in exchange for an honest review

Kingdom’s Reign by Monique Moreau is an MC romance about a biker named Kingdom and a civilian attorney named Sage.
The story is told by a dual pov in the present time, it is well written with detailed descriptions. The plot is engrossing and mostly focused on the romantic part, so I think it’s 2/3 about their love story and 1/3 about the MC troubles. It has everything you need in a biker story, love, sex, and drama. The erotic scenes were so hot and downright dirty.
The characters were great as well. Kingdom was a badass stubborn bossy biker who was also loyal and straightforward. Sage was a kind soul who loved to help others. She was also a little prudish and broken. They had really good chemistry from the beginning and it continued all the way till the end.
I loved this book, it had me hooked since the first page. I highly recommend this to those who love spicy novels and I will rate it with 4.5 stars.

I just finished reading book 4 in this series and it was ok so I picked this one up since it was free. However, I just can't face reading another book where the H constantly swats the h on the ass every time she doesn't move fast enough, show him enough respect or do what she's told.

The beginning of this story was a little confusing. For some reason I felt like I had begun a book in the middle of a series but later realised I just didn't understand some of the terminology and culture associated with bikers/motorcycle clubs. In any case once I began reading and got a few chapters in to where the main characters met I could not put this book down. I read the entire thing in a matter of hours.

The story was steamy and passionate, it was everything I needed on a cold winter day to spice things up and keep me enthralled. I really enjoyed the way Moreau wrote both characters, the male protagonist was raw and unapologetic. The female lead character was everything women want to portray but also that inner desire to be submissive.

There were some points where certain comments were a little concerning and the relationship between the two characters could border on abusive but I think given the context of the story and knowing it was fiction allowed for the bounds of propriety and realism can be relaxed.

The story was along the lines of what I would expect from J.R. Ward, or other fantasy/romance/erotica.

Overall, I really enjoyed this work and would definitely continue reading the series.

A Great Beginning to this MC Series!!

This is for those who like their bikers dirty, sexy and all alpha. Kingdom was every bit of this and so much more. Sage is a defense attorney who has represented some pretty rough men including some of Kingdom’s brothers and they haven’t scared her away. She is a tough, sassy, no nonsense lady which is one of the things that drew Kingdom toward her. She does have an issue and that is trust that she has with men. Her ex fiancé who was from a “good” family cheated on her only weeks before their wedding. That was the end of it for him but now maybe Sage doesn’t want to give her heart away so readily again.

I loved this book with the chase that was on between Kingdom and Sage. How does a totally bad*ss biker ever convince a once burned woman that he will be trustworthy even with women constantly throwing themselves at him. There are issues between rival clubs that come to the forefront as well concerning Sage. It checked off all of my boxes for a great MC read.

Well the book started with a bang and for some a trigger, I wasn’t expecting that and it’s close to home but I grew up with people around who went through it. I think after such a start I was expecting a bit more from the storyline, it was light on the MC side and really revolved around the characters story. The characters were charismatic even the other people which makes you invested as you know you will read the other books just to see what happens to them. I think that anyone who likes a good romance can read this even though it’s an MC book, don’t let that put you off.

I am a connoisseur of MC books because I love the action and the family ties that bind them all together. This is one high octane debut from a new author. Kingdom is the VP of the club and he is dealing with some hard life knocks as he just lost his best friend. Sage is a woman who is not what she seems when Kingdom first lays eyes on her at a tattoo parlor. However, there is some force that is pulling Kingdom to Sage. I loved the way Sage stands up to Kingdom as she is not a wallflower and does not take crud from anyone. This is not to say that Sage does not have her own life issues especially where her ex is concerned. The more the story progresses, readers have the chance to see the changes in both of these characters as they learn that they complete one another and are stronger because of it. Compared to other MC books, this would be considered light, but do not let that deter you as the character development and storyline are enough to pack quite a punch. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

I'm a big fan of MC romance and this one was fantastic! It grabbed me from the start! I couldn't stop reading! I loved Kingdom and Sage! They were perfect for each other! Their attraction and chemistry were amazing! It showed all the way through. They both had baggage to work through but they're better when they do it together. This story has everything you want in a MC romance, drama, desire, tension, emotions, romance and love. I absolutely loved this debut novel from Monique! I look forward to reading more of her books! If you like MC romance like I do then Kingdom's Reign is the book for you!

This author’s debut book is fantastic!! A very promising start to the series! The author uses imagery wonderfully, I could really feel like I was in certain places in certain situations with her descriptive words. Kingdom is the VP of the Demon Squad MC and Sage is an attorney. Kingdom is an alpha to the max- protective, fierce and loyal. Sage is slightly prudish but with a kind soul. The chemistry between these two is on fire and the banter is hilarious. Great debut novel, I am really looking forward to the next installment of the series!!

I enjoyed this book. Kingdom and Sage's story. There is plenty of intense emotion, tension, desire and drama as their relationship evolves. The storyline kept my interest well and I found this book easy to get pulled into. I liked these characters, the chemistry they shared and the heat they generated. While this MC romance has some rough edges, it does not have that usual darkness I typically expect with this genre of read. So you might want to keep an open mind and give this one a try if MC books aren't your thing. This is my forthright, freely posted review.

Sage is a great attorney who has been burned by men in her past but running into Kingdom , is just what she didn't know she needed and these two have such a strong draw to each other it is unreal, but of course people can not let happy alone and try to push their hate and crap lives on them

A really good read if you like biker boys you will love this.
Sage is a lawyer and not into men at the moment after being cheated on by her EX . Kingdom is a hot biker man and not really into good girls but they are scorching hot in bed . Of course there’s trouble but there’s also love.
Looking forward to reading more about these Biker boys.

An explosive connection when opposites attract! With book one in The Demon Squad MC series Monique Moreau brings the heat in spades when a biker meets his match in a sexy defense attorney. The writing style came across as a little unpolished at first, but it smoothed out and I was hooked by a few chapters. I ended up rooting for them throughout and look forward to another trip with a Demon!

Kingdom is addictive. He's hot, he's raw and he's hurting. I enjoyed seeing him come to life and heal during the story.

Sage is a fun character. The one least likely to hang with an MC yet it really works for her.

I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a motorcycle club romance with a lot of drama beneath the passion. This club has potential!

Mhh, I don't know what to say, I can not say, that I found a new favorite author. She is a defense lawyer, for me that means, that she is an educated, stands up woman who know her self worth. Than he, he is a depressed biker, but after they met, he likes to tell her what to do, for example 'you can't go into a prison by yourself' and so on. Hello it is her job! Than the episode with Trixie, it was before they got together, but nevertheless if you are so in love like her, at least I would talk to him and let him explain, if you don't like his explanation, you still can kick him to the curb. So all in all I don't know really, it was an ok read I guess, if you don't expect something big or really good. Ok for an Sunday afternoon.

This is a new to me author and recieved this copy from www.voraciousreadersonly.com for an honest opinion.
I love a romance with a strong alpha male and an equally strong female love interest. With that this book did not disappoint. Kingdom is sexy, troubled, powerful and revered biker. Sage a beautiful, confident and independent professional that has her own insecurities.
I truly enjoy angst and suspense. however with this book I felt that it fell a little short. The story was a little underdeveloped. I would have enjoyed a more descriptive read, helping me to contour up a more vivid scene and feeling.
I’m all about steamy love scenes but at times found it to be too much and too crude.
Over all enjoyed the read and would consider reading the other books in this series.
