Fast paced, enjoyable read! Loved Romi and Clay!
Here's the thing.....I love romances that are set around small towns and cowboys. I can admit that this is one on my top five, favorite romance genres. Add a sexy, sweet, protective vet into the fold and just bring on the sighs.
Fake Heart is the second book in the My True Heart series and I enjoyed it even more than the first book. Clay is the town's only vet and to say he is busy is an understatement. The man has no time for anything other than work. He has a huge heart and will always go help an animal in need; probably more so than humans. And while he loves his job, Clay is neglecting a social life and his friends. And while he wishes he had more free time, Clay knows that isn't likely to happen unless he makes some changes. And it isn't until he meets Romi that Clay considers change.
Romi was a great heroine. Having to deal with the criticism of her parents regarding the life she is leading doesn't stop Romi from making her own way. I have to admit, I didn't much care for Romi's superficial family. The fact that she doesn't let their snobbery influence her only made me respect her more.
I don't want to say too much about the story so I don't ruin it for you. I did love the way that Romi and Clay met for the first time. That scenario says a lot about the types of characters they are. This book has a tiny bit of angst and an amazing cast of characters. The pace is steady and I was able to read this book in one sitting, uninterrupted. You do not have to read the first book in the series to fully enjoy this one. But I do recommend it. There is where you meet Clay for the first time.
Looking forward to the next in the series. I'd love to see a Christmas story out of one of the characters. That would definitely make my day.

She makes a proposition to Clay for a family event that she really doesn't want to attend but has to. And so it begins. They both have issues to work on but enjoy each others company. Can she make a go of her business? Can they find time for each other, or do they walk away as friends?
It's a quick read with enjoyable characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a page turner that kept me entranced until the end.

What can I tell, I simply love the style and the books these two ladies co-write. There is always something unique in their stories.
The intriguing blurb alone had me in its paws. And let me tell you, the whole book was like this. I couldn´t stop reading and managed Romi and Clay´s story in one go.
After Romi left her cheating fiance at the alter, she decided she doesn´t want to follow in her family´s legacy and work for her father. She's wanted to build her own interior design business from scratch which is keeping her busy at all times.
Clay is the only veterinarian in the county and always on the emergency call.
Their schedules are too busy and distracting the other one from following of their dreams is not an option. Could they overcome their fears and move at a slower pace or were they damned to fail anyway?
I loved every tense and steamy second.

Clay Walker and Romi Caldwell meet over a paint-covered pup in Britney Bell's Fake Heart. I loved the way Britney brought the characters together. The story was equal parts of fake love and hot sex. I loved Clay and Romi together.
Romi was captivated by Dr. Wrangler...errr...Walker and couldn't stop thinking about him. Love this little town of Heartland, Texas! In the first book we had Summer and Hayden and their story was precious. Now we have "Dr. Wrangler" aka Clay, the heartthrob vet. His life is all work, no play. But, that doesn't mean he doesn't want a connection. Enter a chance encounter with the beautiful Romi. She's a headstrong, smart woman trying to build her interior decorating business without the support of her parents, who want her to fall in line with their dreams for her. I commend her tenacity and graciousness with which she meets these challenges. These two are perfect for one another. I can't wait to see who gets center stage in the next Take Heart Series!

Romance is budding, love is in the air and plans often go astray, especially when those plans are for a short term fake relationship.
Romi and Clay might have busy schedules, but when they meet each other they are about to get a whole new perspective on life, and it’s going to involve more than just working 24/7.
This book was an enjoyable short read, and kept up the heat in the cooling weather.

This was fun to read. I smiled a lot because Romi was just so much fun and honest ,and all around a good person. She isn't going to be pushed into the family business , but is pursuing her dream job of being an interior designer. Clay spends too much of his time at his veterinarian office. To me they make a wonderful couple once they get it all figured out. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.

Romi is weighed down by expectations of her friends and family. Balancing the desire to meet her parents expectations versus her dreams, Romi is working to establish her decorating business. Clay works as a vet, and has little time for anything else. A chance encounter between them leads them on an adventure forcing both to evaluate what is most important in their lives.
I adored both Romi and Clay. Clay is absolutely an amazing character. Romi is such a strong heroine who stands up for her beliefs. Once again centered in Heartville, this story revisits some of the characters from the first story, and introduces us to some new ones as well. I love how both characters face challenges, some of which come from their own families. I loved the twist in the story as well. The story is fast paced, yet the story does not suffer. If you love fun stories with quirky characters this a story for you.

This was a quick, enjoyable read. Clay and Romi are both workaholics, but in different ways. One is trying to keep up with the needs of the job and the other is trying to succeed and get a decent business going. When they meet by chance, Romi takes the initiative to propose an odd arrangement to avoid misery and awkwardness at a family event. Clay takes her up on the offer, but neither of them anticipated it becoming so much more. And when distractions seem to become the root of Clay’s problems, Romi tries to fix it. I mean, she tries in a dumb way, but she tries. Luckily, Levi keeps Clay grounded and Romi’s family pushes her to try for another shot at happy. And once they both finally figure out how to be happy and fulfilled without too much on their plates, they have nothing but a future to build together.

Clay and Romi may have started out faking it, but it didn’t take long before their true feelings came into play. Allen and Rebecca can have several stadium seats and leave room for Romi’s overbearing father...cue eye roll. She’s better than me because I would have BEEN brought their secret to the light. Just glad she found out BEFORE she said ‘I do’! Anyway, Romi found a group of friends thru Clay that are genuine and have her back no matter what. Now, who’s up next in the lovely town of Heartville???

Clay is a sweetheart. He's a workaholic who loves his job and all the animals he cares for. And one day Romi walks into his life. Instant attraction from the start. When they finally share their first kiss, its like fireworks. They are both busy with their jobs but is it really enough in common? When they realize how they feel towards each other is so wonderful to see. They are perfect. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Complete page turner and I loved this. A veterinarian romance? Yes please! I recommend this to all my friends. Perfect small town romance that will leave you wanting to read the whole book right then and there. Never lost my interest!

I so enjoyed Fake Heart, l always love going back to Heartville! I enjoyed the fast paced journey that Romi and Clay took us on, their chemistry was smoking! Now were to fine me a Mr Wrangler?? ;)

Sweet, hot and sexy. Love the characters and how they evolve. Amazing storyline and how the author kept our attention. Definitely a must as the situations and the main characters are to die for and will make you fall for them. Amazing.

This was a great quick read with a nice storyline and likable characters.

YES!!! This was everything I was expecting from the second book of this series. Fake Heart was a sweet, loving, insta-attraction, steamy story with amazing characters and plot I loved. A perfect weekend read!!

She comes to Heartville to work never thinking she was going to met sexy veterinarian Clay, but from the moment these two see each other sparks fly.
Clay never thinks he is going to settle down, his busy schedule as the only veterinarian in town is demanding. One night stands is all he has time for, but when gorgeous Romi makes him a proposition, he can't say no.
The steamy chemistry they have is off the charts HOT!!! but with their lives demands could this couple have an easy ride? or will everything be too much?, you just have to read and find out!!

This is a simple story that I did enjoy but also found a bit frustrating in parts....

I liked both characters and appreciated their attraction but sometimes I felt it was a bit juvenile for two adults in their thirties. I think I would have liked more build up to their relationship, more dialogue and getting to know them.
There was some fun interactions between Clay and his friends and the story leads to a happy, fun ending but there were some parts I didn’t connect with.... the Ex and partner.... not sure what that was near the end....
So a nice story with some fun parts and a gentle lead into the next in the series from Ms Archer which I am looking forward to reading.

Romi and Clay have no space in their lives for romance. Their careers are far too important to them.
But love always finds a way of making time.
This a very simple happy ever after. This book is fast paced. Straight to the point. The overall story line is a little predictable. Few small curveballs thrown in to the mix that I didn’t see coming though.
And although the story line was a little predictable, Romi and Clay are two characters I really enjoyed. This book was easy flowing. But enjoyable to read.

This is a steamy story of a city girl who meets a sexy, cowboy who just so happens to be a veterinarian also known as Dr. Wrangler. At first the characters do not seem to go together other than a fake relationship to show Romi's ex-fiance and her parents that she has indeed moved on. I like that the story was set in a small town and that both characters met each other where they lived. It was fun to watch Clay fall for Romi and for her to fall for him too. The story did have some interesting twists and turns. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

I just loved “Fake Heart”, book 2 in the “My True Heart Series” by Britney Bell. Heartville’s hot n hunky, workaholic Veterinarian, Clay Walker and first time business owner and Interior Decorator, Romi Caldwell will fire up your Kindles. I work at an Animal Hospital, so I enjoyed reading about Dr. Walker’s patients and how he interacted with them. With plenty of fun, some family drama, adventures and a side of “whoooweeee, it’s getting hot in here” spicy heat, you’ll love this book. I can’t wait for the next instalment in this series! It makes a girl want to move to Heartville because that’s where all the hot country boys are! ~ Angie❤️

There will be no faking how much your heart will fall in love with Clay and Romi with this cowboy romance. This one ticks all the boxes and will have you wanting to never leave Heartville again. This is a story about meeting the right person who finally has you seeing the your priorities in life may not be in the correct order. A story that is quirky, witty, heartfelt, emotional and steamy. Clay and Romi will take you on a journey of life, love and forever. Saddle up and head to Heartville where the men have huge hearts and the women just love to save horses (wink, wink).

Although this story was fast paced I still enjoyed getting to know both Clay and Romi as they got to know one another. As they took their fake relationship and turn it into something very real and special I slowly fell for both of them. I felt like they needed each other to help them slow down and learn to stop and actually love their lives. They had the perfect balance of sweet yet steamy chemistry from their first meeting and I loved every minute of it. I definitely hope to get more from the folks of Heartville, Texas because I’ve become quite attached to all of them.

Fake Heart is set in the town of Heartville, can two workaholics have a fake relationship with no strings attached? Or do lines become blurred and they find each other the answer they’ve been missing. Enjoyed the characters of Clay and Romi. The backstory is well done. As you see the reasoning behind these characters and the choices they have made. The chemistry is real and makes this a very enticing story to read.

Loved Clay and Romi's story. I enjoyed their story beginning to end. Romi need a boyfriend to attend her ex-fiance's engagement party to her ex best friend. She asks Clay a vet she met when she had a dilemma when her clients for got into her paint. Clay and Romi decide to get into a fake relationship with benefits situation. A great story left me wanting more. Can't wait to read more from this series!

Romi and Clay have amazing chemistry from the start. This was such a fun, fast read! I like how they both had to get past themselves to let the other in and how each was so bold with the other. I look forward to seeing their relationship grow as this series continues.
