But as for me, God’s presence is my good. I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, so I can tell about all you do. —Psalm 73:28
“God’s presence is my good,” David wrote in Psalm 73:28. And he was right. We were created for God’s presence—to live in His goodness and joy all the days of our lives. But our first parents turned from the Lord and lost their place in the garden with Him. Since then, God has been drawing near to His people, pulling back the veil between heaven and earth to invite humanity back into His presence. Over four weeks, we’ll explore what it means that God is with us now, and we’ll trace this promise of His presence from the lost garden of Genesis to the garden city of Revelation, where we will dwell with the Lord forever.
She Reads Truth is a worldwide community of women who read God's Word together every day. Founded in 2012, She Reads Truth invites women of all ages to engage Scripture through curated daily reading plans, as well as online conversation led by a vibrant community of contributing writers. This community of “Women in the Word of God every day” represents a long list of cities and countries, a variety of backgrounds and traditions, and countless real-life stories. But there is a commonality that binds us: we believe God's Word is Truth. So we read. Every day we read a new passage together—working our way through books of the Bible, topics that matter, and seasons of the Church calendar. We engage with God's Word and with each other. And we keep coming back, on the hard days and the good days, because God and His Word never change, regardless of our circumstances.
I've been enjoying these topical studies, especially in these busier months! Good to have nuggets of God's presence that I can reflect on throughout the day :)
The order doesn't make sense to me. You start off in the New Testament, and then you're in Genesis and Exodus back to New Testament and Revelation and then Genesis again. But besides that, the devotions are good and are about leaning into God's presence and what that looked like then and now.
