Flawed, I am.
Cracks, I have and they run deep.
But I refuse to accept that I'm damaged.

Six years ago, I turned my life around; moved to a new country, and started from fresh leaving behind the demons and shame that once haunted me. Forgetting the worst moment of my life was impossible but without constant reminders, it was easy to pretend that it never happened.

But then a man surfaced out of the ashes and awoke all those memories from where they'd been stowed. In an instant, the walls I built around myself started crumbling and I was forced to face the past I wanted so hard to forget. But would he be able to pick up the broken pieces, or would I lose my chance at true love?

A great debut novel with so many twists & turns. I have to say that the last 20% was my favourite. I do love a good dark read & a whole heap of suspense. I wonder if we’ll be getting David & Erica’s story next?

FLAWED

Okay!

This story was so well thought out. The author really took her time to set up a plot and it all came together at the end.
What I liked most about this book was that it was not just romance. It had so many other elements added to it. I had a few laughs even.
I loved how the characters were all “flawed” but likable. The hero isn't Mr. Perfect who is able to solve all of the heroine's problems, in fact, in the plot twist he is left with his hands tied and unable to do anything to help Melissa.

Each had their own share of issues to overcome and I enjoyed their growth so much.

To sum it all up, this book is a snowball of emotions. But it captures your heart and touches on so many aspects of today’s society.

I recommend this book. You won’t regret it.

Boy did these characters go through a lot.
Heartache, drama, angst, frustration, it was all there.

Melissa has tried to run away from her past, after suffering at the hands of an abusive man, Dominic, when she was younger.
Then one night she meets Andrew and manages to escape.
Andrew has never forgotten Melissa, and when they meet years later, fireworks go off.
But this couple have a long way to go before they get their HEA.

4 stars for a debut that will leave you waiting for their ending, and wondering whether they will ever get there.

"Flawed" by Lym Cruz is the first book in the " Imperfectly Perfect” series. This is the first book written by the author and I look forward to reading the next books to come. It' s a contemporary romance, with second chances, sweet and at the same time with some last chapters full of suspense.

Andrew Malcolm has always followed in his family's footsteps, studies, work, and even relationships, but everything has a limit. While working a normal day at her father's law firm, a woman appears who believed he had left behind six years ago. Melissa Alford tries to remember that night, that man who left her in that room and now has him in front of her. The sparks are still there, and what happened once could happen again.

I was very surprised how a book could be so complete of surprises. At first it is the story of two people who spent a night a long time ago, but all this hides Melissa's difficult past. Although she is not the only one who has to suffer day after day, as Andrew has a very difficult family.

Her kiss was spellbinding, A kiss never felt good as it did on her lips

Andrew is characterised by his strong temperament apart from how successful he is, and as a result he brings about many desperate moments with his family concerning Melissa. Melissa is a strong girl with everything that has happened and what happens to her during the book.

“I'm sort of running out fof words to express how much I love you and that I want to spend the rest of my days with you so please be mine”

It's amazing how the story that already has its complications gets more difficult in the last chapters to have a beautiful ending.

What a refreshing read. Seriously, I have so many words to say, yet nothing at all too. The story was written so beautifully, it reminded me a lot of the books I read years back that made me fall in love with the genre of romance. It's strange to explain but I loved it.

Thank you, Lym Cruz, for so generously sending me an ARC to review. I didn't know what to expected before diving in, but I always keep my mind open.

Meeting Andrew and Melissa was amazing. It was, as I said refreshing. Most stories don't give as many flaws to the men, but in this story, Andrew has his own problems and imperfections.

Melissa has been starting a new life for the past 4 years, she's almost a graduate. When she bumps into Andrew, it's her past that she's afraid of being bought back to light.

Andrew is a little forward in his actions. I always understood why he was acting that way but it was unacceptable. So when Melissa pulls the plug and tells him how she trusts he's treating her, it makes him take a step back. He never wants to hurt her, just understand her more.

Their chemistry is undeniable and it's such a joy to watch it bloom. The problems they tackle is done so perfectly. I kept continuing to want more, to need more about them and how they're helping each other grow as people.

There is drama, with a past being pulled back to light, but that only adds to the story. By that point you are invested as a reader. You don't want anything to go wrong for Andrew and Melissa, after they've worked so hard to get where they are.

Overall, a wonderful story. A story that takes you on a journey of two imperfect characters, who don't hide their faults. A story that has wonderful yet again imperfect secondary characters. Not everyone is perfect and the same which makes this feel so real.

Thank you Lym for a wonderful read. I love finding new Indie Authors and you for one are one I would love to read again.

WOW, I'm so impressed by this book. I would have never had thought this was Lym's first book.
It's just perfect and real and It faces you with the awful things that happen in anyone's life, ugly memories from the past and the responsibilities and the weight of having a business to take care of by following the family's wishes.

Andrew, I just loved him from the start, this guy doesn't get a no as an answer and that's exactly what he managed to accomplish, he's sweet, a gentleman and really loves Mel, and she, well she's a huge support for him by encouraging to follow his dreams.
As for Melissa, first of all, I'm a huge fan of seeing authors use Latin heroines and in this case, she wasn't white and I loved that even more about her. She's sassy, fun, wild and doesn't let anyone get in her way even thought everything she had to endure while being a teenager, scars she would never be able to erase but thanks to Andrew she learns how to live with it, love and trust again.
The connection these two have its hot af and none of them tries to hide it. They're both sexy and young and madly in love with each other.

The story gets even better by getting close to the end but that's when everything happens a bit fast for my liking, other than that it's an excellent book and I still can't believe that this was Lym's first book.
I'm super excited to see what happens next to Mel's best friend!!!

WOW! This was a really ridiculous gripping and exciting book.
A love story so different to all l read before.
Not only because both main characters are rich, but also their story is so unique.
The unbelievable strong feelings they have for each other and the circumstances how they have met for the first time are so incomparable, that it makes it even more interesting and captivating.
As the saying goes, the soulmates always find each other and the two have overcome continents and time and have found each other again 😍❤

They try to overcome their insecurities and trust issues with help of each other and their friends.
This book has so many twists and turns, that you can't stop reading. There are so many feelings and emotions that make you cry and laugh.

This was a short and not so sweet introduction to Lym Cruz writing style. She is an up and coming author.
⚡️
This story is not for the faint of heart. It is not a rainbows and roses story. It is not a happy ending. ⚡️
To be honest, I was a bit nervous at first to read it. I LOVE HEA. I get too emotionally attached to characters when I read. I become immersed in my books. So when anything tragic happens to them, I feel it. ⚡️
Lym warned me that it was not a HEA. I dove in anyways.
⚡️
I survived. It hurt, but I lived.
⚡️
And you know what? It was kinda refreshing to read it. It made me appreciate HEA so much more, but also the craft of unHEA.... HNA? Happily never after???? ⚡️
I don’t want to spoil anything since the book is a very quick read. It does end in a spectacular cliffy, which I have spent much time thinking about my possible endings.
⚡️
Except: What is your breaking point? What would you do to survive?

Flawed is the debut novel of indie author Lym Cruz. Cruz, like many new authors, definitely has a lot of room to improve, but she clearly has creativity on her side. Flawed is like a rough cut diamond. Though some may only see a rock, with a little polishing this book would be diamond. Flawed is about two people with their share of insecurities and damaged pasts, who meet in the most unlikely of circumstances, only to meet again and create something beautiful. Like both of the main characters it contains, Flawed is flawed, but still perfectly imperfect.

In the first few paragraphs I found the imagery very stiff and boring, which made it feel like the author was just trying to meet a word count. I was immediately nervous that I was in for a bland story that I had already committed to reading when I agreed to be an ARC reader. I always feel awful writing a bad review, but even worse when it’s for an author I am working with directly. That said, I refuse to let that keep me from writing anything less than my honest opinion. I forced myself to prepare to write a bad review after just a few paragraphs, but by the end of chapter one my curiosity was peaked. In chapter 2 my curiosity only grew. There was no way I was going to stop reading now and all thoughts about preparing for boredom and negative reviews were forgotten. I was hooked.

Then another blind sided change of heart came right away as I began chapter 3. I was now a weird combination of irritated and disappointed in Andrew, one of the main characters, and completely confused about my first impression of Lym Cruz, the author.

By the beginning of chapter 4 I had accepted that the chapters would be very short and offer very little information. The author was feeding little snipers to bate your curiosity, but it was jumping from one perspective to another, from scene to scene and I still had no idea what the storyline would be. I’d also already counted a few minor grammatical errors and misused vocabulary. I often wondered if the author was attempting to use more diverse vocabulary than was typical in her conversations, which not only led to A LOT of misused words, but made the story feel a little stiff and forced. The misuse of punctuation was also very strong in this book, but I decided to look past it at the heart of the story instead.

By the time I was 20% in my curiosity was still peaked, but I was frustrated. Andrew and Melissa were being a bit dramatic about their situation, immature and jumping into “feelings” so fast. Intuition told me that knowing more about their story would explain the feelings, but almost a quarter into the book is pushing my limits on an acceptable time frame to explain how these feelings are developing so quickly. More focus on character development and attention to detail would go a long way in creating a more natural connection with the characters and would likely ease a lot of those concerns.

Andrew ends up disappointing even more when he starts behaving in a manner that is completely unacceptable. Mel’s friends somewhat address this by saying that the interpretation of behaviors is very much reliant on how you feel about the person, but I only agree with that to a point. No matter how attracted or in love you are, there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed and once they are the behaviors are creepy, controlling or abusive. If one of my friends was basically being stalked for weeks, I would not push her toward her stalker, I would drag her away. My brain was throwing red flags out faster than the refs at that Packers vs. Seahawks game in Seattle a few years ago. Alarms were blaring, lights were flashing and my inner dialogue was screaming “RUN!”

Mel apparently has a much larger and more lenient threshold for taking crap than I do, so she let attraction and a sense of connection persuade her that his stalking was acceptable and give him another chance. She went from wanting to leave to dropping her pants so fast it was absurd. Don’t get me wrong, the scene was sexy, but also infuriating. Then, to add to the ever growing sense that Andrew is a controlling jerk, he displays his jealousy and marks his territory the very next morning, which puts Mel in a position to deal with another jealous jerk. Apparently, Mel’s painful past, which we have yet to learn about, did not give her the tools necessary to measure her self worth or stand up for herself. Ezra easily guilts her into going out with him, which only adds more jealousy fuel to the fire, and now means she's being manipulated by two men.

Eventually, we finally get answers about Mel and Andrew’s previous meeting and the trauma of Mel’s past, but it comes out of left field with very little trust building. I’m annoyed that Mel will open up to a man she barely knows, who displays terrifying signs of abusive and controlling behavior from the start and clearly does not respect boundaries, but won’t open up to her friends who have obviously earned her trust. Perhaps it’s Andrew’s existing glimpse into her previous life that made her feel safe enough to open up or maybe it was the mysterious emotional connection, but it was shocking none the less.

As their relationship progresses they seem to be entering healthier territory, but every time they hit the most minor speed bump they handle it horribly. They are terrible at communication and incredibly immature. Andrew was raised in a hostile family where he closed himself off and learned to keep his thoughts to himself and he treats his relationship with Mel the same way. Fear keeps him from fully letting her in and communicating, but when Mel is frustrated she doesn’t articulate the real problem and expects immediate answers. When she doesn’t get the response she wants she either flees or over reacts. Her reactions are bold, outlandish and completely uncalled for in most circumstances. I find myself wishing she would be as defensive of bad behavior as she is of feeling like he’s not saying what she wants. She jumps to conclusions and is a huge hypocrite. She even goes as far as thinking he's after her money, even after her overly crazy reaction to misunderstanding his questions and assuming he believed she was after HIS money.

I do have to congratulate Lym Cruz for giving more exposure to such an important topic. The trauma of Mel’s past highlights a huge problem happening around the world that people just don’t pay enough attention to. So many people have been affected by similar experiences and I think writing stories like this and putting this problem in the forefront of our minds is extremely important. She also addresses race, mixed race relationships and the pressure family can put on us, which, though more prominently addressed in today’s society, continue to be an issue.

The second half of the book finally picks up speed and by the last quarter we are in full on action mode. What started as a rocky romance quickly grew into a mystery and thriller. It was terrifying and exciting and somewhat reminded me of Taken or a James Bond story.

This book had great bones, it just needed some refining. I have full faith that Lym Cruz will continue the interconnected series with more creative, exciting and unique storylines and hope that she focuses more on development and attention to detail to really give the following novels more depth. What a wonderful start to a career as an author!

I have absolutely loved this book, I have read it in a matter of hours. This has a well-written and thought out plot. I honestly couldn’t put it down. I cannot wait to read the second book in this series. It really is that good!
I love the plot of this book, there are twists and turns guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. I honestly couldn’t predict what was going to happen next. It’s so exciting and the events that take place are completely unique from any other book I’ve ever read. I cannot wait to see where Cruz is going to take us on the journey between Andrew and Melissa.
The characters of Andrew and Melissa were extremely loveable. I absolutely wanted them to progress from the very start. The attraction between them evident. I’m not normally a lover of raunchy scenes but I found that they were not too much within this book. Although present, they strengthen the chemistry and bond between the main characters. On the other hand, I had a strong dislike of the Malcolm’s; they are judgemental and status/money hungry who seem to lack any awareness of their children’s happiness. Cruz has done a superb job of bringing each personality to life and making the individuals seem real within the book.
The dialogue between the characters in this story really show the connections or in some instances hostility. It is as though you are there with them watching the events unfold. I loved the setting of this book, it was easy to picture.
Overall, this is a truly spectacular read which I have loved! If only I could give this book a higher rating than five stars- it definitely deserves it.
This should be on everyone’s TBR list!! If it’s not- you’re missing out on a magical romantic read!

Lym Cruz is a new to me author and I can say that after reading this book I will be reading more!

Flawed was unexpected in the best way possible. I DEVOURED this story. I loved every single moment of it. I was completely sucked into the story and to Andrew and Melissa’s connection.

Andrew came across as kind of a jerk in the beginning. Big shot family lawyer, spoiled rich kid type of vibe. I was all for Melissa not wanting to talk to him, because well, who would. But, I warmed up to him throughout the story. He wasn’t like I expected, he was really just trying to keep his family happy and doing what was expected of him, even if it wasn’t his true passion in life.

Melissa. I LOVED her. Her past was truly heartbreaking but she is a fighter. She has moved to a new country, made new friends and has worked hard when it came to school. It’s been six years since the night that forever changed her life and she will never forget the man who saved her.

Andrew and Melissa had great chemistry. Their story is tragically beautiful and imperfectly perfect. They had so many ups and downs, it wasn’t always easy but I couldn’t help but love these two.

Flawed is a MUST READ. This is one book you really just need to experience for yourself. I can’t wait for more of this series.

The book was Flawless

Flawed by Lym Cruz is an excellent read. You’d never guess this was her debut novel; the writing was excellent and everything flowed nicely

Melissa wants nothing more than to forget certain parts of her past. Things she is not proud of; things that had also put her life in danger. 6 yrs has gone by since she left that life behind. While visiting a law firm with her friend, Melissa happens to run into the one person that can expose everything she’s been trying to forget; except he’s not someone she wants to forget

Andrew can’t believe she’s sitting here at the law firm where he works. He recognizes her right away. How could he not; he’s been thinking about her nonstop since he left her sleeping in a hotel room 6 yrs ago.

Oh wow! All the feels!!
I Loved Melissa and Andrew. Their story was so good, I couldn’t put it down. This book literally had it all.. it was romantic, witty and emotional. It was intense with unexpected twist and turns.. omg that ending! It was so good!

The secondary characters were just as great. I can’t wait for the next one. Honestly, I didn’t see that coupling coming, but I’m excited for it.

This is a definite recommend from me

I was given an ARC by the author and this is my honest review

There’s nothing flawed about this amazing debut by Lym Cruz! 4.5 stars for an incredible book by a very talented new author who I’m looking forward to reading more from.

The mysterious beginning to this book made it unputdownable. It’s intense, sweet and steamy with characters whose chemistry was very apparent and I quickly became invested in needing to know their story.

Six years ago Andrew and Melissa’s paths crossed and now they meet again, but Melissa isn’t exactly happy about it. However, Andrew has other ideas and is relentless in his pursuit of the woman he’s never been able to forget.

When the past refuses to stay in the past and continually plagues the present, the result is a unique and gripping story. Add in a twist I didn’t see coming and it solidified my addiction to reading this book!

I can't believe this is Lym's debut novel!
"Flawed" but likable characters in this multi-layered, complex love story take you on a wild ride for sure! I LOVE strong female leads, and Mel did not disappoint! I could have done without the constant "mom and ex-girlfriend" drama (which made me roll my eyes a few times) - but this was definitely a book full of steamy bits, suspense and a movie-like HEA. Well done!

This is a first for me this author and book and I definitely wasn't disappointed, I enjoyed this book immensely.

This story will hold your attention and keep you turning the pages and desperately wanting to read more.

Melissa has turned her life around and has put the past behind her and moved to another country, she is trying to start again. Only is her past about to come back around from what she's tried to escape and haunt her?
Andrew is a rich lawyer and an alpha male who is lovely,  who he'd met years ago and is about to come back in her life. He has thought about her over the years and now he's desperately wanting to be in her life, he can't believe she's here he's very surprised. He doesn't want to take no for an answer.

Flawed is about two people who have been through alot. They both have had alot to work through no one is perfect.
Flawed but not damaged.

These characters were written brilliantly and the author really knows how to bring them to life. They have great chemistry between each other and a really strong magnetic pull. I loved seeing them and where their journey took them both. Second chance for them both and seeing where they go.

This story was really refreshingly different to others I've read which was awesome. I couldn't put this book down and it keeps you guessing throughout. This book has twists and turns and is also quite emotional in parts and deals with some real issues.
This book is a complete page turner and I just couldn't put it down it keeps you gripped from the start.
I absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future.

Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is out now.
I would highly recommend reading this book.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Warning, while I try my best to make sure there are no spoilers in my review, there is always a chance that something any review says could count as a spoiler for you. If you want to just know my overall opinion on the book, and if I recommend it, please skip to my Overall and Would I Recommend It section.

Perfection seems to be the thing we always want to achieve. It’s the one thing that we seem to want more than anything, and yet we also see perfection for what it is, boring. It’s in the imperfections that we see rainbows and beauty. It’s in the cracks that run along dishes and paintings that we see life. It’s also true that we see the most interesting and deep people in those who have flaws, cracks in their otherwise pristine mask that lets us see true beauty.

Flawed was a bit of an odd mix of emotions for me. The book starts off with our hero, Andrew, running into a woman he met, and fell for, six years ago that he thought he would never see again, Melissa.

Andrew was a really interesting character to me. I loved how well rounded he was. He has his very dominant traits and is an alpha male for sure, but he is also a very loyal man who has a very sweet side. He wants nothing more than to make those around him happy, but he also knows that to fully do that he needs to be happy, so he winds up having to make some hard decisions that are really heart melting.

Melissa is very confused. I felt that she was actually running towards the future she never thought she wanted, yet deep down it was all she wanted. There is a large hesitation to how she approaches the situation she finds herself in with Andrew that was, at times, both frustrating and confusing. However this heroine had a fire in her that was amazing. She had no problem telling people how it was when push came to shove. With what happened in her past, I really loved that character growth. Melissa’s back story was really heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. It takes quite a great deal of strength and courage to do what she does in order to survive. The way she pulls herself back together is really remarkable as well.

The thing that kept me from fully loving this book was the frustration of how the secret of Melissa and Andrew’s past is hinted at. It is one center focus from the start yet not fully revealed for quite some time. While I do understand keeping that a secret, when it’s hinted at to the extent and way in which it is hinted at, wrong concludes can and were made. At times, it had me wondering if she had brain damage, and at other times I was wondering if Andrew was actually a bad guy. This caused a lot of confusion and frustration for me at the beginning of the book. I am glad I pushed through that though and got the rest of the story.

This book has some insanely well done heated scenes too. I loved how Andrew approached the situation of winning Melissa’s heart and how he approached the sensitive subject of sex with her. The way he woos her was heart-melting, and the wait for the full steamy scenes was well worth it.

Overall:

Flawed is a read with characters that you can relate to because they are not all perfect specimens. I loved how each of them had their little cracks and problems that they worked through. However, there are some rough parts to this book that caused frustration and does drag it’s rating down a bit.

Would I Recommend It:

It would depend on your reading preference. So I’d have to say maybe on this one.

Flawed by Lym Cruz is a debut novel. After reading Flawed, I believe this new author showed very much promise. I will look forward to her next book. This was book #1 in the Imperfectly Perfect Series. It is a standalone novel, with the next book featuring a couple we met in this book.

Melissa Alford has moved to a new country, trying to turn her shameful past, of 6 years ago, far behind. She has a promising future, good friends, but leaving the worst time of her life behind was much harder then she thought. Running into Andrew Malcom after six years, brought her past into her future. If Andrew only knew he had saved her life that night six years ago. She had the urge to run when he showed up in her new life. But he was here now, and she couldn't run every time he showed up. Eventually they would need to talk. She was flawed but not damaged. She was cracked but not broken. She intended on staying in one piece. If she had to deal with Andrew Malcom, she would!

Andrew was shocked to see Melissa again especially here. He thought when he left that night, he would never see her again. Throughout the years, he had thought of her. Now he would get the answers to questions he never had asked. He found out her mother was Brazilian and her father was British. She had this rare beauty. They had a strong pull to each other, but so many issues and roadblocks would stand in their way to any kind of future. There are more twist and turns to this story that a roller coaster. Personally I felt Melissa was too stubborn and created most of their problems. Andrew was a dream boyfriend.

They had no idea where their life was going to take them, but he wanted Melissa by his side. She was imperfectly perfect! As you read this story, you will wonder if they will ever have their HEA.

I enjoy reading about flawed characters. People are human, they make mistakes and have moments of bad decision making. Ms. Lym presents us with characters are fit the title of her debut novel.
Andrew and Melissa could be said to have a history. One night, a chance encounter between the two of them left an impression on them both that lasted six long years. A second chance encounter brought them back together again.

The story is more than just these two reconnecting and making a go of things. Melissa has a bit of a sordid history that she tries to keep hidden from the people in her new life in the States. Andrew works for his family’s law firm, but doesn’t enjoy the work. His entire life, down to who he was expected to marry was planned out by his parents. They are both running from different things and find comfort in each other.

Ms. Lym rounds out the cast of characters and side plots with friends on both sides that act as sounding boards to our leads, but also have their own mini stories happening within the context of the larger one at play.

It’s an intriguing look at how two people could be somewhat opposite but somehow perfectly matched with each other. I have to say what kept me from making this a 5 star read was Andrew. I don’t particularly find some of his pushy, alpha-ish behaviors romantic. The tracking her phone, and the way he constantly pursued her in the beginning, including showing up at her house it was stalker-ish. As was sending the flowers and always knowing where she was because of the phone tracking. That was a problem for me. Plus he had a few other controlling tendencies that made a little hesitant to be fully in his corner. But he made Melissa happy and I went with that.

The sexual chemistry between the two couldn’t be denied. Overall, it was an interesting story.

PS I kindly received an ARC from the author

4.5 Stars
A sensational debut novel, without a single hint of a flaw.
From the outset, I was impressed by the pace and tone of the story that was unfolding. There was barely the opportunity to take stock as the start of the story began to take shape. I loved the mystery, the intrigue, and intensity.
There was burning bright chemistry between Andrew and Melissa, a couple that is getting the second chance at making a first impression …although I have to admit that Melissa didn’t exactly seem too thrilled at the opportunity, but Andrew had determination enough for the two of them!
He was all set to get his woman now that he has her in his grasp again and he was thoroughly relentless in his pursuit. He has waited six years to get his hands on her again and come hell or high water he is not giving up without a fight …even if that means fighting Melissa herself to get her to see that what they could have would be something very, very special.
There was just enough angst to keep me on my toes, to encourage me to think about what was happening and why and to wonder whether they were actually going to be able to fight the past and have a future?
With a twist that snuck up on me like some sort of ninja, I have to say that I cannot wait to see what this author does next.
A clever, sweet read with some seriously sexy characters who drove a passionate read.

six years ago, Melissa moved to a new country in order to forget her past and start a new life. She has worked hard for her new life and forget the past and is graduating soon. But when she meets Andrew her fear of her past returns.

The mysterious and shadowy start on this book made it made it very interesting and intense.at the same time first few pages may be slow for some readers.

At the beginning the situation between Andrew and Melissa was a bit dramatic. But a bit more into the story the steamy chemistry between these two gets more noticeable.

As their relationship evolves, they seem to be move into a healthier relationship and yet with every problem the relationship is being hit hard since they don’t know how to handle the problems properly. As the story continues and the past comes back to light it adds more to the story. Which makes the reader want to get more involved with the story.

The author is kept the chapters short with scarce information to satisfy your curiosity. And for this, the book turns into a page turner. The story was plotted perfectly yet it starts very slow, a slow paced rocky romance, and towards the end of the book it speeds up and grows into a thriller and Mystery.

Many thanks to A Quintillion Reads and the author for the ARC.

Flawed by is a story of Melissa, a young woman who, as a teen in Brazil, faced unspeakable horrors at the hands of a man she thought she could trust. Luckily she was freed from his clutches and is living a great life in America. And then she runs into Andrew, a man who knows about her past and a man she never forgot. Andrew has also never forgotten Melissa. And now that he’s found her he will not walk away. The question is whether Melissa will let him into her life, can she trust him?
Melissa’s story is profoundly sad but her fight to reclaim her life and move on is amazing. She was so resilient. I love Andrew. He was strong and unwavering in his commitment to her. There is some real family drama and angst here so it’s not all smooth sailing for them but it made their relationship that much stronger to survive anything that comes at them.
This story has many layers that you need to peel back that go beyond a simply love story. It tackles several heavy and tough social issues but does it in a way that weaves into Melissa and Andrews’ love story perfectly. This story is sexy, witty, romantic, tragic and sad all at once. For her debut novel @lym_cruz wrote a really amazing story.
I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

4 ****

This book is about a woman named Melissa, and how she turned her life around 6 years ago, by moving to a complete new country and leaving her past behind her. Until she meets a man named Andrew, someone from her past that she was trying to forget all about. Is he good or bad news?

Lym Cruz, is a new author to me and I very much enjoyed reading this book by her. It kept me hooked from start to finish, with lots of twists and turns throughout. The story line was very well thought out, so credit for that! Melissa and Andrew both went through a lot together (more Melissa) and it was lovely reading about their journey and watching them grow stronger together, with the tough challenges they faced. There was definitely some strong chemistry between the pair and they were very well suited!

I very much look forward to seeing more by Lym Cruz!
