Haven’t read a Cherryingham cozy in a couple of months and forgot how wonderful Jack and Sarah are, and how much I love these little mysteries are. This one was about the death of a girl and Jack and Sarah, once again, made the police department look stupid.

Even after listening to 31 of these stories I still enjoy them immensely.

No sex or swearing! Just good clean mysteries.

As to the narration: Neil Dudgeon is simply awesome in these novellas. I wouldn’t enjoy them half-as-much if it weren’t for him.

Wonderful Cosy Series

Latest in the Cherringham series continues the light-hearted interaction with Jack and Sarah as they seek answers to a death that the police don’t view as suspicious. Set in the English countryside in the fictional village of Cheeringham, part of the fun is tying together all of the geography of their adventures.

Nice to return to Cherringham and see Jack and Sarah in action. In this outing, three teenage girls are taking part in a school challenge hike. Only two return, with the most popular girl found dead. Was it an accident as the police determine or was it murder as her parents think? There are a lot of lies for Jack and Sarah to sift through, but in the end, they put everything together.

This is the 31st book in the series and I have read all of then. At first I was a little disappointed in the
amount of time it took to get to the main characters, but I realized that I wasn’t bored and the story was allowing me to ‘experience’ the story as it was unfolding. When the novella was finished I was ready to move on to the next episode.

This Cherringham series just keeps getting better. Action, drama, great characterization. Always anxious for the next installment. Hope Jack and Sarah get together in the end.

I have read all of these books on audible UK and they never get old, boring or staid. Love the plots and the twists, turns and 'oh didn't see that coming' moments. The narrator draws you into the plot and makes the book for me.

This was probably my least favorite Cherringham mystery this far only because it was so obvious who the killer was. The suspect pool is incredibly tiny, and once you learn a few motives, it's obvious who the killer(s) is/are.

This one depends a bit too much on Jack and Sarah reading body language to spot people at lies. Just about everyone is hiding something. Of course it is all wrapped up in under 3 hours.

A good book to listen too when you clean the house. It gives you ”Midsomer murders” wibes. It is fun to try to figure out how the guilty person is. Jack is a retired cop from US, Sarah is a singel mom and they solves crime together. This one was about a mystery/murder.
