Some fruitcake is running around pouring molten gold down the throats of barristers, I’m certain that friendless young women are being trapped in modern day slavery and my PhD student is being ditsy. To cap it all, my wings are dirty. If you thought the life of a succubus in Twenty-First Century London was just one continuous orgy, you’d be wrong

Amaranth Gardener is bright, breezy and incredibly vain (as she would say “what else would you expect from a succubus”). She is also a mathematician (with a PhD), a 7000 year old rock chick and her sidekick is a were gecko. A were gecko!!! Eat your hearts out, werewolves, unlike you this one can lick his eyeballs. One cannot expect morality (in its narrowest definition) from a succubus but she certainly delivers justice that is satisfyingly red in tooth and claw. Lawyers are being murdered with cryptic clues left at the scenes of crime and Amaranth is roped into helping the police due to her mathematical skills. Although this book is a hugely fun read, it also addresses the darker issues of prostitution, privilege, corruption and the shortfalls of the legal system. I don’t want to add any spoilers but if you like light hearted fantasy thrillers with thick streaks of darkness I recommend it. However if you are hoping for sweaty sex scenes then it is not for you.

Stupendous

Great plot with the demon justified in removing evil wherever it exists. The character I'd delightful and full of surprises. All three of the first novels are extremely entertaining and utterly outrageous

Well written and interesting story.

Amaranth is an interesting character with a strong desire to improve the world she lives in.

The story is well written and quite interesting, with really detailed descriptions of both scenery and characters throughout.

Distracting Errors

Although the story line had great potential, the many errors and typos distracted me. I kept wanting to contact the author and offer to proof it for her.

demon/ goddess

Demon doing good her way. A goddess villain. Multiple storylines. The math references were fun but there was room for more.
