How to Catch Santa Claus is the newest book in the "How To Catch" series. These are cute books showing kids coming up with traps/inventions to catch someone or something. The cute thing is that someone always gets caught (elf, reindeer), but Santa is there to save them. The kids are sleeping on the couch, but they don't wake up until Santa has left. This book is called "My First How to Catch Santa Claus" and is geared to a younger audience than some of the others we have read. They saw things that Santa does, and we loved the addition of the magic key that lets him get into houses. The illustrations were wonderful and the best part of these books. We looked at all the traps and talked about them and what was going to happen if you got caught in the trap. We liked that they didn't hurt anyone. My one issue is the cadence of the story for reading aloud. It changed from page to page, so I stumbled here and there and couldn't get a rhythm going. A cute book to read to the kids as Christmas approaches.
Daughter didn’t understand how the kid could so easily fall asleep especially when he had plans to catch Santa. Falling asleep at night so easily is a concept foreign to my three year old and since she came in my life, it’s a foreign concept to me too.
This is the perfect Christmas card stock book for a 3 year old. She wanted to know where the reindeer were though? Bright, vibrant colors fill the white space so you feel immersed in your reading. The words are large as the should be for a cardboard book!
