No one can accuse Finn of being a coward, only an idiot. He wakes to the comfort of a Peregrine healer at his bedside, but that relief is short-lived. His exile stands, the Order holds him responsible for the threat of the Hunters, and he's all alone. In fact, his last ally stabbed him. For some reason, Finn is still fool enough to want to help her...If he can find her.But Jac has no intention of being found.Still searching for the only place that feels like home, Jac continues to jump through Gates and chase the dream of returning to Braora. Until she finds it, she refuses to think about what happened or what she did. She refuses to let anyone get close, because wanting someone to be good doesn't make it so.That might change when Jac stumbles into a new traveling companion: an ally who could prove her theory wrong. Did she find someone she can trust, someone who could give her purpose and someone who could help her find her home?Hope is tenacious, and Braora is within reach, assuming she can survive the growing conflict between the Peregrines and the Hunters, and if Finn doesn't find her first.
If book 1- ‘Hunters’ was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for you and you still made a choice to read book 2- ‘Allies’, then my Dearies, YOU HAVE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE.👍🏻 . 👉🏻 I cant express in words how really happy I am to read this-📚 ’Allies- The Wanderers’ war Book 2’ by @caitymschmidt with its plot twists and fast-paced story.📖 . 👉🏻 Here we see that Finn was stabbed🔪 but was healed enough by someone to keep him from dying. 🌱Finn knew that it had to be a wanderer and may be he knew who was it. But she was terrible at healing. Also where was she now?❔❓ . 👉🏻 His name is Akhfindel Kersaht, Btw. . 👉🏻 Jac , on the other hand, is still in search of home but now she has a new companion by her side- (drumrolls 🥁) - Haveron. And he has some plans for her. (I dont know why I imagine him to be super handsome and charming 🥰) Haveron has definitely left the impression on me and I was really intrigued to know him more. 📚 Both Jac and Haveron have been keeping secrets from each other. Jac is fully aware that she should not be trusting anyone but she is so much inclined to her new companion for accepting her as she was.✨ . 👉🏻 You learn a bit more about Finn, a bit more about Kalrah (📌 again a major twist in the tale). A lot of past references to understand the story even better. This book is a must read if you want to answer some of your unanswered queries from the first book. 📚 . 👉🏻 The worlds became a little clearer for me after this book. I really liked how the book didnot end!!📚 All the characters were well developed. The friendship between Kalrah and Finn and how it all changed to forming different allies was crucially important and interesting. With the twist, I can smell a book 3 in the near future which I am obviously looking forward to reading.✨ . Rating- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
The second installment of The Wanderers' War opens right after the end of Hunters. Jac is missing, Finn is held hostage by the members of the order he serves, and the Hunters are about to raise the stakes of the game ten times over.
The war is not looming anymore, it's here; and whoever emerges victorious (the Pergrines or the Hunters) will shape the fate of all the worlds across the Map. This sudden if long brewing escalation breathes new life to the series, delivering on the first book's promise of an epic conflict.
Intricately woven and action packed, Allies is a far stronger book compared to its predecessor. The writing has improved, the pacing problems have been dealt with, and the worldbuilding feels much more vibrant and alive.
On top of that Fasavi, my favorite character, is awared more page time, which made me very happy!
