Jennifer Hall, a mental health counselor, arrives in a desert town after the death of the third student at Lincoln High. The third tragedy. The third memorial service. The third suicide. No Note, no answers. Jennifer counsels the students and community through their grief and with every passing day in Lincoln, her own pain slowly begins to creep back in. The kind of pain where you can't forgive oneself.
With an alcoholic father and self-absorbed mother, Tyler Tuckerman prefers the world he sees through his camera lens. Drifting through life unnoticed in solace, clutching to a memory of his first love and his warm blue eyes he captured many summers ago. Desperately trying to feel alive again, to be loved again.
Will Tyler ever feel seen and understood? Can Jennifer truly help these underprivileged students, their destructive parents, and bring closure by answering the only question - why are the students at Lincoln High dying by suicide?
Cory earned his B.S. in Finance at W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He has served 4.5 years at Goldman Sachs and is currently at Morgan Stanley. I love reading psychological thrillers therefore I picked the novel Make Believe. The main character of the story is Tyler Tuckerman. When he was in eighth class, one student spread the news in the entire school that he is gay. Tyler always stays alone and doesn't have any friend until a girl Nicole joins the school. After several teen suicides, Jennifer Hall was asked if she could join the school as a mental health counselor to help the students. Lincoln is a small town so Jennifer already met Tyler and Nicole's father before she met Tyler and Nicole. On Monday, Principal handed over the list of students she needs to start with because these students are sensitive. Jennifer is quite passionate about her job to help students. As she started looking at sensitive students file, she got to know more about them. Tyler and Nicole were also in the list. Read the story yourself to know what happened next. You will enjoy this story very much. Author has maintained suspense very well. This book was totally worth my time and it made my weekend amazing. A great book. Add it in your TBR right now.

When a new joinee came to school, she became friends with Tyler. Nicole is also a sixteen years old student. She has lost her mother to breast cancer and her father Clark is a Sheriff. They had recently moved to Lincoln from Texas.
After a series of students suicide, Ms Jennifer joined the school as a mental health counselor. Will she be able to figure out the reason behind the students suicide? I love stories where the plot is set in the high school. I like Tyler's character. The ending was definitely unexpected. Writing style of the author is superb. With a medium pace, author has perfectly managed to grip reader's attention. Overall a nice story that will stay in your head for long time. This is the first book of Cory and I am definitely interested to read more books of him in the future.

School principal handed her the students list she needs to focus on as there is something unique about these students. Tyler Tuckerman being a gay was bullied every now and then by football players. Those who love to read psychological thriller should definitely pick this one. Language of the book is simple. Cover page is eye catchy. Narration is smooth and I really want to appreciate amazing storytelling skills of the author. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. Wonderful story. Author has done great work in his debut novel.
Okay, I read this in one day. I did not expect it to be a psychological thriller as I just found it in the local author section of our bookstore and read nothing about it. Not my genre of choice at all. This book is fucked up. Definitely unexpected twists happening, but if you like this genre this book is a must read for you. There are also lots of misspellings in the copy I have! Not my thing, and now I am extremely anxious after finishing that.
