it´s a no from me. Lacking depth and character development/background/feelings/something to make the characters more "real" and want to connect with them. Where´s the flavour!?

I loved this book so much!
It was such an easy and light read with so many funny, mystery, magic and steamy scenes in an urbanfantasy setting that I couldn't put down!
I was constantly laughing and in awe of the amazing chemistry between the characters🔥
This Paranormal Romance is about Natia who is an agent of a secret agency hunting down demons and other denizens of the underworld and she is set out to investigate the motives of the suspicious multi millionaire Archan Reinheart.
Everything about him is a riddle. And she's determined to uncover all his secrets.
What she doesn't know is that he's got a mission and is equally suspicious of her and the enigma she is.
Going undercover and tricking an ancient supernatural being to gain information? Sounds fun but also risky as hell lol
Also neither knows the real identity of the other and it's so fun to see how they find out.
There were so many things I loved about it so I'm just gonna list them:
🔥Natia! She is fierce, bold and very sarcastic
🔥The writing style! I always found myself chuckling at the screen so many times lol The humor was top notch👌
There were also so many references to famous movies and songs I loved it!!! ( seriously I loved the whole playlist of this book)
🔥What a delicious slow burn this romance was!!! Flaming chemistry everywhere!
🔥The missions to secret islands and even the Vatican to retrieve ancient artifacts to save the world while fighting demons
🔥Mental links! The characters talking to each other in their minds with their telephatic abilities
🔥The way Natia deals with all the alpha holes lol Idk there were like 10 of them? Lol Especially Archan. She challenges him every step of the way
🔥All the different creatures and magical elements: Elemental witches, higher level demons, Ancient Ones, Princes of Hell
I also looove anything mythology related and this one delivered an epic adventure à la Indiana Jones with a touch of greek mythology and hidden prophecies in ancient jewish manuscripts like the dead sea scrolls, Alexandrian manuscripts of the bible Codex Sinsiticus, secret symbols and magical artefacts😍
Also that ending and twist? This was cruel I need book 2 please asap!

"Seducing Hope" is Adaline's debut novel and the world she wrote about really captivated me from the very beginning.
Natia was one of my favorite characters, she was so funny and badass and we have to appreciate her taste in music. Her relation with the guys was everything! Zee was hilarious, always teasing and flirting with her. Jed too and Duncan felt more like a brother than a best friend, they all did. And let's not forget the sweet Aaden, he's so cute and innocent.
Archan is a strong, super mysterious male that held Natia's attention from the start (and vice-versa). I loved to witness the taunting between the two and the effect they provoked on each other.
I think we got just the perfect amount of everything: romance, friendships, fights, twists and reveals, magic/supernatural related scenes...
I'm really looking forward to the sequel after that ending! I'm eager for answers!! If anything I wrote until now caught your eye, go ahead and give it a chance :)

August 14, 2022Sadly enough this is a DNF from me. The start of the story wasn't so bad but after the first couple of chapters I was quickly losing interest. The character developement was seriously lacking for me and I also wasn't thrilled with the romance. It didn't really do much for me, unfortunately. It all has potential but there needs to be more developement for characters, story and writing.

Quite a rollerocaster
I have a feeling even at the end of the book, we still have so much more to find out.
I usually LOVE books like these, where the events leading up to the book are slowly being uncovered and everyone is just trying to figure it out. However, there is something missing that's preventing me giving this book a five star review. The worst thing is, I can't quite put my finger in what it is exactly.
Hopefully, the next book is even better.
I do have to add, though, that I absolutely love Natia's humour, her brand of witty and sarcastic very appealing to me. But, what would you expect from another Taurus, right?

Disjointed
At 20% I still couldn’t tell what the book was about or any significant information about the characters. Apparently the main chacon has some super secret para ability, went to an unnamed school for dance, and was hired by an unnamed, but “famous” dance company, before joining one of her family’s many companies. The author must have included a dozen out-of-date song references. It was to the point that based on the old songs, the MC should have been 40+, but her weird and inappropriate behaviour made her seem like she was 16.

NOTE MY DISCLAIMER...This is a revised book review-blog of Adaline Winters' first novel, Seducing Hope. Anybody who's one of the "elite" or who otherwise disagrees with my opinions can go take their harsh, negative backlash elsewhere. Thanks in advance...!
Yeah, this is right...I have put a halt on writing and finishing Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers...Possibly indefinitely. Why? Because I cannot personally see any reason to keep on writing such a lengthy book series when almost everyones' lack of interest in it is not only GLARINGLY OBVIOUS but when some of the people who're aware of me and my writing seem to think they can police my opinions on other books without me making a fuss about it!
Well, this is it. I'm not going to quiver in silent fear of elitist backlashers anymore. So, here's a shocking truth for all you haters of me: I decided to read this book because I spoke to the author back when I was trying to establish a fan base here on Goodreads, with a potential to make friends with some of the people I met. And this was AFTER I found out Goodreads had created this author profile page about me of their own volition...Yesh, this is right. I didn't randomly join Goodreads because I thought it would be a great medium for me to showcase my works on. Somebody else took notice of the fact I had written 5 books (Which was in May of 2019, if anyone here cares) and went ahead with putting a profile of me on Goodreads...Without my knowledge or consent, mind you!
And because I didn't want my secret, volunteer-editor(s) to write up whatever impressions they thought of me on the profile page they made of me, I claimed it as my own because Goodreads gave me the option to do so. This meant I could make edits to it as I saw fit. Plus, I could include a list of books I've read and add in more which I wanted to read in the future. I could also become friends with not only other people here, who enjoy reading but also other authors, like me!
Thus, the reason I even bothered reading something like Seducing Hope AT ALL is because Winters just happened to be one of the authors I met on Goodreads. And because I wanted a chance to mingle with a lot of people in this community, thus getting to know them, I agreed to read, rate, and review one of her books. And mind you, this was AFTER I invited her to do the same thing for me! Whether she actually read and rated any of my books doesn't matter, here.
What matters is all the harsh, negative backlash all of YOU commenters felt like you just HAD to spout off at me!! Okay, I get it: I'm not as famous or well-known as Winters, here is. And I'll admit I wasn't familiar with her or the typical genre she wrote her works in. But come on, people!! As one of you pointed out in your scathing remarks to me, I was quite new to this community, and so I decided to dabble in a genre or trope which falls outside of my typical preferences!!
I didn't even have to give this book a read AT ALL if I didn't want to. I could've just spouted off a blank rating of 1 star at it or worse yet, included a dumb-ass one-line remark about how I assumed it would be nothing but garbage and pointless to read!! But I didn't do this. I didn't write a scathing review or leave a blank, scathing rating without reading it, beforehand. Why? Because at least I know better than to do stuff like this. And because in spite of what you die-hard fans of the dark sides of reading may think of me, I am NOT some stupid, bratty baby, alright?!?
In case you haven't heard, Goodreads is a PUBLIC SPACE for both readers and writers, alike!! None of you have any right in essentially telling me to shut my damn yap or to take my "poorly written and painfully ridiculous opinion elsewhere"!!! (-_-) Besides...A stark number of people who have read one or more of MY books have done EXACTLY the same thing the lot of YOU shouted at me NOT to do in those old, unwanted comments of yours!!
Not only this, but because I'm stuck living in a shabby apartment, which isn't much bigger than a shack, I'm dying...Literally MFing...Dying. The whole damn building is run by a bloody buggering snobby slumlorrd, who just NEVER bothers to fix ANYTHING here!!! He just comes around here once a month to grab his hundreds of bucks and runs back to his own 'crib'! And I'm slowly dying because my air conditioner is an old, seriously flawed model, which I cannot clean properly, due to the way it was installed, plus its lack of a filter door. This results in years and bloody BUGGERING YEARS of dust gathering up inside of the unit, which then begins to slowly suffocate me to death. And this is just ONE of many problems I'm stuck with...In South FL of all places!! No, I have no idea if the slimebal of a man is ever going to put a new air conditioner in my bedroom. Nor will any of my doctors do anything to try saving my life...! This is Medicare for you, I guess. And yeah, I'm on Medicare, but NOT by my own choice. I blame this move on Trump!! (-_-)
And believe me...I do NOT wanna live in FL all my life, either. Like each person's reading preferences, everyone has their own favorite places to live. Needless to say, my personal 'paradise' is none of YOUR business! Nor are any of your favorites mine. So, instead of telling me to shut up, why don't ALL OF YOU backlashers get down off your bloody buggering high horses and learn to shut YOUR damn yaps?!? Cause Goodreads doesn't belong to ANY of you, now does it!?
Right, so if anyone was able to manage getting this far in reading this little rant of mine, then let me ask this...Why should I even bother to finish my first and so far ONLY novel series for ANYBODY which knows about who I am or at least has ever heard of me, before? Seriously, I want everyone who reads this to give me at least 5 reasons why they wanna find out how Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers ends. If anyone still cares about it, I'll be waiting to hear your answers...

As if this hasnt been stressed enough.... WHAT THE HELL ADALINE ? THAT ENDING?
This was defintly a worthy of binging book that made my paranormal lover heart very very happy.
The main character was a fun one to read, while I did have some issues w the writing being a tinny bit cliche and "im a powerful woman, you dont get to command me" being repeated to the death, it was all forgiven because of the fun I had while reading her thoughts as well as with the amazing playlist and music taste she shows!
Archan is our typical brooding male but the whole mystery behing what he is kept me on my toes theorizing and trying to see If i was right... I still dont know.
The rest of the gang was so well written I feel like they are not only side characters but really bring something to the table being brotherly figures to both our mc and addign some sass and fun to the book.
Such a breath of fresh air with the use of myths , I hadnt read something as fresh in that sense in a while and was thoroughly surprised about it. The whole mix of crime, myth, and mystery was one that worked perfectly for this one, and altho not perfect I surely enjoyed it a ton!
Overall: Love the music, love the boys, gonna continue with the next one.

When the author kindly asked whether I'd be willing to read and review this book, I agreed right after I read the blurb because it seemed like exactly the kind of book I'd love. And I did. I really, really did. What can I say, I am sucker for paranormal romances!
Natia was the kind of heroine I adore the most. She was strong, witty, courageous, loving and a total bad-ass. She has built walls around the heart, but if you were lucky to get through, she'd give you more love than you know what to do with. She is also very honest and straight forward-what you see is what you get, so you always know where you stand with her. She was breath of fresh air, wearing her heart on her sleeve. She is also very stubborn and and she really gave Archan, who is used to people following his orders, run for his money, because she does not take orders well.
Don't you just love those dominant, possessive, alpha heroes? I sure do! And that is why I absolutely adored the hell out of Archan. He was entitled asshole that thinks his shit does not stink but he was also kind and caring. We do not find out what he really is in this book, only that he is an ancient supernatural being, so I am really looking forward to the second book to uncover the mystery that is Archan Reinheart.
When Natia and Archan meet, they do not trust each other's motives. They both think the other is the enemy, so in order to find out more information about each other's missions, they are constantly trying to one up each other. It was very entertaining to watch, especially seeing that Natia and Archan have insanely hot chemistry from the first time they meet. So, while burning extremely slow, watching their relationship play out was like watching a movie. The only thing that was missing was popcorn.
I loved their friends, even the ones with a stick lodged in their behind (I am looking at you, Zac). They provided entertainment and witnessing how much they cared for their respective friends warmed my heart. I loved how they teased each other mercilessly one second and then had each other backs the next. It was plain as day to see that they really loved each other. I must say I am quite attached to all the supporting characters, so I hope that they won't die in the future books because I'll cry a river of tears.
Seducing Hope is an amazing paranormal romance that ends on a cliffhanger that brought me to my knees, I kid you not! It was so cruel of the author to leave the book at that particular point. But really, it was a genius move because I am now counting down days until the second book!

She is also very honest and straight forward-what you see is what you get, so you always know where you stand with her. She was breath of fresh air, wearing her heart on her sleeve. She is also very stubborn and and she really gave Archan, who is used to people following his orders, run for his money, because she does not take orders well.
She didn't realise she had set a game in motion, one that will end with her being mine.
Don't you just love those dominant, possessive, alpha heroes? I sure do! And that is why I absolutely adored the hell out of Archan. He was entitled asshole that thinks his shit does not stink but he was also kind and caring. We do not find out what he really is in this book, only that he is an ancient supernatural being, so I am really looking forward to the second book to uncover the mystery that is Archan Reinheart.
When Natia and Archan meet, they do not trust each other's motives. They both think the other is the enemy, so in order to find out more information about each other's missions, they are constantly trying to one up each other. It was very entertaining to watch, especially seeing that Natia and Archan have insanely hot chemistry from the first time they meet. So, while burning extremely slow, watching their relationship play out was like watching a movie. The only thing that was missing was popcorn.
I loved their friends, even the ones with a stick lodged in their behind (I am looking at you, Zac). They provided entertainment and witnessing how much they cared for their respective friends warmed my heart. I loved how they teased each other mercilessly one second and then had each other backs the next. It was plain as day to see that they really loved each other. I must say I am quite attached to all the supporting characters, so I hope that they won't die in the future books because I'll cry a river of tears.
Seducing Hope is an amazing paranormal romance that ends on a cliffhanger that brought me to my knees, I kid you not! It was so cruel of the author to leave the book at that particular point. But really, it was a genius move because I am now counting down days until the second book!

So let’s start with the fact that i went into this with zero knowledge what the book was about and zero expectations.
Overall, it was okay. Started off pretty interesting but i wish we got a bit more in that backflash. I didn’t feel connected enough to care that Natia’s best friend was killed.
Once we fast forward to the present, Natia working for a secret Supernatural Intelligence Protection was kind of cool. I liked that she already was something we the story takes off. But at the same time, I didn’t “feel” her friendship with Duncan because we totally skipped them getting close. Then we have Zee which is soft of written as someone who is romantically interested in Natia but also not. But I didn’t see that either.
Another thing I did not like was the fact that she is legit the only female character in this story. Don’t get me wrong. When you have that many hot guys around, being one girl can be fun. But I didn’t feel that way in this story. If you’re telling me, she is this hot kickass, there is no way Archan is the only one who is seriously interested in her, considering there is no one around.
The biggest problem I had was the world. We have demons, which we learn right away but where are they from? How do they get into our world? What are their powers? We have warlocks and witches but don’t really get an explanation about their powers. Are all of them elemental? Who can heal or teleport and what are the rules? Is this world based on Greek mythology? Too many holes in the magic system I just can’t overlook.
I get keeping secrets about who Archan and the guys are but we should have found out by the end of the book at least. Them being what they are is too important to the plot not to explain in book 1.

What an overwhelming story from this author and as her debut...I am so so impressed.
Adaline has successfully created a unique world with our Taurus Natia as the female MC. Powerful, emotional and oh so addictive...this book deserves more recognition.
Focusing more on the action packed storyline, with small glimpse of romance between...I just couldn't have asked for a better read to start my October. I'm totally mind blown at the ending and book 2 can not come soon enough!😍

I found this book while I was scrolling goodreads randomly searching for something new and its cover caught my eye. When I read the description, I got to know that the book is based on supernatural genre. So I picked it up.

This book made me restless in days and sleepless at nights🥺.
I loved the character of Natia so so much. She was courageous, a warrior by heart, bold, adventurous and heartbroken from her past relationships and events. I loved her sense of humour and her personality, her aura (ironic😂). I found Natia so innocent, down to earth that even when I am not acquainted with Greek mythology, I could totally imagine her to be the creation of god. Being a nature lover, It was so mesmerizing reading adaline's description of the nature, when Natia described the plants on Archan's office's roof, when she talked about the fishes and night sky, it just took my heart.

Talking about Archan, watching supernatural helped me in deciphering that he was a vessel for the evil when it would unleash just as Sam Winchester was for Lucifer ( those who watched supernatural know what I mean. And those who didn't, sorry for the major spoiler😂). Archan's personality screamed power. He was aggressive, self controling, in the need of always being in charge but at the same time soft hearted, caring and kind.
Besides that, I am curious to know his side of story. I want to know what he went through, why he doesn't trust in love and why he keep people at a distance, which I hope adaline's will clear in the next book of the series.

First things first, I thought the title was "Seducing Hope" because the love interest tries to seduce someone named Hope. Still don't know where Hope is.
I expected another dark romance with lots of red flags, plain characters and shit, but this is slightly better. Like I can kinda see some red flags but could be worse (fr, I've read books that could be named Manual for Supreme Red Flags). And I really like the different plot, with all the S̶̶h̶̶a̶̶d̶̶o̶̶w̶h̶u̶n̶t̶e̶r̶s hunting demons and the Jar and Pan and that, it was refreshing to read something interesting.
Even so, Natia sometimes deserves a reality check. I mean, girl please, get out of that fake movie you think you live in, with all the "I'm such a badass" or "I'm different because I like layered food". Stop it, get some help.

Seducing Hope
It took me a while to get into this one but I’m glad I stuck with it. I really enjoyed the characters mostly the side characters. They were fun and entertaining to read. I also loved the mythology and mystery throughout the story.

If you’re a fan of the supernatural fantasy fiction filled with action, sarcasm, and some romance this is for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish and I gasped during many parts (in a good way). I could picture the story in my head as I was reading and for me that means it’s a good story. My favorite characters were most definitely Zee, Natia, and Jed. I could not put this one down. I would read this again and I cannot wait for Adaline Winters to release the second novel. I highly recommend this novel to fantasy lovers so pick this one up for your next read and see if you love it as much as I do.

I discovered this author's most recent series and loved it, so I've been wokring my way through her other books. I believe this is her first one and I definitely did not like it anywhere near the same level as the others.
Firstly, it's not a bad book in that it's not badly written and the plot, on the whole, is good. But there were too many things that annoyed me, mainly, our main character.
Natia is one of those female main characters who is pretty much perfect. She's hot, witty and snarky, a tough fighter, has special powers and I beloved by all, especially men. She has three male friends/coworkers who all think she's the best and one who constantly tries it make a move on her, with creepy things like asking about her underwear, which she treats as cute. There are no other female characters that aren't in more than two scenes. I found a lot of her dialogue shallow and I just didn't like her very much.
Her relationship with the main MC had good chemistry, but they both made stupid decisions throughout that got a little old.
From reading other reviews before I started, I already knew about the sexual assault scene. If rape is depicted in a book, you'd think there would be a really good reason for this to happen to your character. The event itself causing a chain of events. The trauma shaping something about the female MC. Somethjng like that, or if not, why include it? In my opinion, this scene served no purpose whatsoever, apart from. Making every man in the book think she's amazing, because she's so tough and string delaying with it. Yes, we had a couple of chapters where she was hiding herself away and struggling, but then it was as if it never happened, with less that a sentence coming up about it when the male MC is tying her down. So I was a bit baffled as to the purpose of it, which annoyed me further.
The twist was obvious regarding who she was, and I found the ending a bit silly.

I'm at a loss for what to even say. On one hand I found this book over complicated in a way that tipped the book at times over the boring / tedious line. However, the same aspect, on different occasions, generated excitement.

Oh man such lazy writing. All the interactions were so forced and juvenile. Nobody talks like that. How old are these people? 16? I haven’t cringed this hard since twilight. I probably would’ve ate this up when I was 16. This screams YA writer trying to be hip with the young folk. So many lines about Buffy, the Matrix, etc. I mean come on.
Also the reader needs to learn to breath between every sentence. She made me feel like I was running a mile and it just distracts from the already cringy distracting story.
All in all, who would give this a 5 star review? we really need to raise our reading standards women. This is just sad.

3.5 Star Fantasy/Paranormal Romance
First thing - this is more than 3 stars. It would be 4 but I deducted an extra 0.5 points because what kind of fucked up ending is this?
It took me a while to get into this. The beginning is confusing and getting into the world building takes about half the book. The first few chapters are also poorly written - it’s too descriptive in a weird kind of way. I’m hearing the author’s voice than the characters voice. The only saving grace is Archan and the obvious chemistry he has with Natia. If you can get past the first 3-5 chapters, it starts to pick up and gets soooo much better!

It’s fun, but super overdramatic. Interesting magic, great side characters, the world building could be better. I’m exhausted by both the characters and their issues with each other. Their dynamic was fun at first but it gets to be draining. The H is a bulldozer and so so protective which I love and the h is so fierce and loyal to everyone, also loved. When they’re on the same page I’m loving their interactions. I wish the h would pay more attention to what the H was doing for her and his actions verses the other stuff that causes her to go all teen girl dramatic. I get her new magic is making her emotions erratic but I already live with a tween I like my hs a bit more stable. I was feeling emotionally wrung out from the hs constant highs and lows so I wasn’t going to read book two right away but that twist at the end was super exciting! Dare I say there were too many damsel in distress moments in this one?!?

Audio Book review - Stella Rose
why is the narration component read so fast in 3,4& 5 word beats without the intensity of full sentence structure enunciation in the story telling ( i can count it out on fingers) - feels like a race, Ive had drop the speed to 105 to try to normalise it. The voice acting conponents were fine - really good, I dont know if there was an engineering issue as I listened to Stella Rose before with no problems. wtf is going on this is too distracting to understand the story.
Im not sure what to think... I need to read the book before I can review fairly.I own over 400 audio books and Im always very very hesitant to be adverse in reviews - as Im big supporter of Narrators.
⚔️update to review, Last night I needed this story - so took the reading bull by the horns - I went to the book.....it great intriguing story with an even greater bite coming from the FMC Natia! I would certainly reread the series.

Fantastic start to an amazing series
This book is by a new writer and was recommended to me by @babewithbigbooks. Let me first say that I was hooked right from the start. The first few chapters are all about world building and so can be slow but it is definitely worth the read to understand our FMC. She is hilarious, fiercely independent with a strong personality and a passionate dancer. Her team and her are investigators of the supernaturals crimes. Secrets are unravelled during the course of her investigation of missing supernaturals which keeps building her character and more questions raised. This is definitely one of my fav reads of this year. The ending is so unexpected that I had to re read it! Am on pins and needles waiting for the next book to drop. Definitely a new author to follow and will be interesting to see what she comes up with next!

Pretty good debut 3.5 stars
This took a few to get into, so don't give up. This is clever and the writing is good, the mystery is done very well and it unfolds throughout the story, I'm still not a hundred percent sure I know everything that's going on but I'm curious enough to continue on. My main problem was the main character, Natia, I liked her some of the times, I found her to be arrogant to the point she becomes unlikable and how every person in this story all bow down before her basically, it grated my nerves. It was all about her, every moment. It got old. The overall story is good enough to continue and hope that Natia and the supporting cast concentrate less on every single thing she does, says, wears and more on anything else.

This is Adaline's debut novel and she knocked it out of the park! I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am really enjoying the slow burn romance between Natia and Archan. I loved that we got both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

this book definetly was an amazing read. when i started i was instantly hooked from the first page. Archan And Natia are both stubborn to eachother and there banter was amazing. they both had such amazing chemistry. however they can not trust eachother and that cliffhanger had me shook and it left me with more questions this book was my first read by this author and i instantly loved the characters the books. i defintely did not see that twist and cliffhanger coming towards the end because i was shocked. i need to read the second book. this series is amazing and i need more.

This has a rich plot that grabbed me and didn’t let go. I wanted to know the answers. The spice is a slow burn that adds dimension to the characters and is just enough. Wow wow wow! This book was amazing! It is 1 in 3. If you like witches, demons and ancient gods thrown in with a warrior women with serious rage, friends/colleagues who are like playful protective older brothers and a sexy ancient god then this is the one for you! Oh and there's spice, and a cliff hanger!!

Greek mythology, hunters, found family, enemies to lovers, funny, smutty- I loveeeed this book and am going to devour this series. The writing is cheesy at times and a few times the main character was very “woman written by a man.” The world building and characters don’t have a lot of depth but it made me laugh and cry and that’s all I need out of a book

Beautiful story, amazing characters, and an ending that was PHENOMENAL!! I loved this book and absolutely devoured it! It’s a world you want to be a part of! Natia,Archan, and the gang are all characters you want to be real so you can spend time with the book is filled with humor, suspense, friendship, and HEAT! Can’t wait for the second one!
