I thoroughly enjoyed #15 of the Jessie Hunt Series. The emotions/vulnerabilities/tensions and suspense run high for all the main players involved! One of my favorites! Two opposing but hugely intertwining stories running side by side have to be solved for there are two different serial murderers that need to be found and fast.
To accomplish this task under threat of survival and with the clock ticking under an insane deadline, this job requires the utmost of trust, mutual respect, and family loyalty. Hang on for a wild ride!
I absolutely loved this thriller from the Jessie Hunt series. In this story, she's investigating murders of businesswomen in a small town but is also in hiding from a disturbing serial killer who will stop at nothing to find her. After resolving the murders, she needs to protect her family by not disclosing their identities. Otherwise, the Night Hunter killer will then be able to track them. This story gives you an edge-of-the-seat experience, and I am literally gasping with the haunting experience of when Jessie confronts the sociopathic serial killer. I cannot wait for the next book in the series, and absolutely love the characters, the plotlines, and the authenticity of the novels.
For some reason this one was really difficult for me to get into. It felt like a chore. There were also quite a few mistakes that the editors missed, which I have not noticed in any of her other books. The last hundred pages did go faster, and I’ll most certainly continue with the series.
You have two days to solve three murders and actually do it while simultaneously killing a serial killer? No freaking way. Ryan, you're an idiot for marrying into this family of crazy people where your safety will always be at risk. Thankfully, we seemed to have broken the cycle of entering places alone in this book so I really hope (low expectations) that this horrible behavior doesn't resurface. Not shocked IN THE SLIGHTEST about who shot that gun and I'm not sure why Jessie can't understand her own sister. Poor Mr. Riggs, your wife seemed like a total b*tch so I don't blame you. I'm sure life with her was miserable.
Okay so that cliffhanger!! I'm just assuming that she said YES! AND Omg...Hannah! I'm excited to find out what will happen with her. Will she be able to use her powers for good or evil?! Honestly, you can't miss all the suspense and action from this book. Like all other books by Blake Pierce (that I've read) this is just absolutely phenomenal and you must read it!

Back on the Jessie Cunt train. I needed a quick read. So I guess she escaped death once again and considering I am only on book 15 of 31 in this series... there's a lot more near death experiences in our future. Do not read this series. It's such you in, in the worst way.... this episode had too many murder moment to be even remotely realistic.
This is another great book by the master of the Psychological Suspense Thriller. I especially love the Jessie Hunt Series. Jessie Hunt is LAPD profiler who has recently quit as her full time job and has become professor at a college to teach others about serial killers and the like. I like that she has to be placed in a safe house because the Night Stalker walked right up to her door disguised as one of her neighbors and was going to kill her boyfriend Ryan and her sister Hannah but she chose not to catch him and help her family instead. So here they are somewhere in a safe house surrounded by U.S. Marshalls until they catch the Night Stalker, who was her Mentor Garland Moses' Nemesis. Garland Moses her mentor was killed by her ex husband Kyle Voss, which brought the Night Stalker out of hiding. Now all of the Night Stalker's attention was to get Jessie Hunt and see if she is as good as Garland Moses was. Stalked by the sadistic Night Hunter, Jessie Hunt must go first, into a so-called safe house and then, to an unconnected officer's wilderness cabin, after her unwanted 'fame' makes her a bigger target. This is another action packed thriller, which will keep you captivated, at least it did me, until the very end. I am glad there are a lot more stories to tell and I am excited to read them. I find myself preordering these books so they can just slide into my kindle. I highly recommend this book and other Jessie Hunt and other mystery books by Blake Pierce. This is a great read.
Blake Pierce is the Master of Passionate Intrigue and Mystery, which is why his exquisitely crafted thriller, The Perfect Mistress, is guaranteed to tease and satisfy throughout. Stalked by the sadistic Night Hunter, Jessie Hunt must go first, into a so-called safe house and then, to an unconnected officer's wilderness cabin, after her unwanted 'fame' makes her a bigger target.
Looking into the local murders of two seemingly disparate cases of young women being brutally stabbed, with a limited local force backup, Jessie soon puts herself in danger, nearly paying the price with her life as she finds the 'missing link' in what may turn out to be her last case.
Blake Pierce is the Master of the Psychological Crime-thriller and he never puts a step wrong as he cunningly keeps the reader guessing til the end. Get your copy soon - but don't forget to lock all the doors and windows before you settle down for the thrill-fest within!
After finishing this 15th installment in the Jessie Hunt series, I am hesitant to move on to number 16. This installment was a perfect closing of all loose ends in Jessie Hunt's life, and I'd be satisfied if I read no more. The Night Hunter has gotten far too close to Jessie's family, nearly killing Ryan and Hannah in Installment 14. The safe house hardly feels safe anymore, so the U.S. Marshalls have agreed to allow Jessie, Ryan, and Hannah to spend time in a very remote cabin resort town to both solve a horrific murder and stay hidden from the Night Hunter. Best friend Kit and the police force will continue to hunt down the Night Hunter while the family is safely hidden away. Time is of the essence, and the Night Hunter is always one step ahead. I had several "YAHOO!" moments reading this book.
Jesse is on the hunt at the same time she is hunted along with the ones she loves. There´s a lot of tension, stress is taking more space than it should and she is starting to be really frightened. Although she has help from the FBI and special forces and her friends, partner and ex-partners, she still is not secure she will be able to win the final battle against the Night Hunter. The plot has a lot of twists and turns that keep the reader´s attention from the beginning till the end. It´s an entertaining and easy-to-read book, like the other books in the series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Listened to the audiobook. I like the way this author tells a story with twists and turns not totally expected. How difficult for Jessie Hunt to be investigating a case at the same time as hiding from a serial killer focused on her, family and friends. The case is actually 2 murders of wealthy suburban women. Are these related? Is this an unpredictable psychopath? The story premise is a bit over the top, but while listening to it, it seems real enough. Expect to continue reading this series.
I personally loved this book of the series. Jessie hunt is sent out to the mountains to an undisclosed location to be securely hidden from the serial killer who is looking for her, the Night Stalker, but of coarse also to help out with a local investigation. Multiple female business owners have been found murdered. Jessie and Ryan must do their best to not only help solve these murders but all while doing their best to conceal their identities.
But just when the book is ending, there is the best cliffhanger at the end.
Two of the most anticipated events finally happened in this part though for me Night Hunter was bit of a let down, I expected more drama, more action and maybe also more romance or chemistry for the later event too. But as always it show Jessica's extraordinary skill to solve a case. And in the ending I thought Ryan shot him but it was Hannah, that surprised me yet it was something that only Hannah would do. It could be the end of the series, I hope the next part don't feel dragged on.

This series is one of those that you can't wait to finish the book to see what happens next while at the same time on anxiously biting your nails and telling your self not to cheat and read the end. And the end of this book, I'm not crying ~your crying, so so glad I had the next book read to read. If you haven't started reading Blake Pierce's books your missing out on some read it in one day-on the edge of your seat reading!!
Who knew going to a different city to work on a case would bring so much happiness to Hannah. The case was not something I was expecting but very interesting. I love how Jessie, Hannah and Ryan worked together to catch a killer. Will Hannah be able to return to the new city and go to school?
I was on the edge of my seat and reading fast to find out what would happen next in this book. An excellent read for those who love suspense and thriller books. I think this could have been the last in the series and look forward with curiosity to reading what other cases will be solved by the detective and profiler.
Love hearing about Jessie and Ryan! I always look forward to see how they solve the crimes. Another great one Blake! I can’t wait to read the next one in the series! They are addicting!
The Perfect Mistress sends Jessie Hunt on a non ending roller coaster ride of solving a series of strange murders while trying to keep the low profile and stay hidden from the Night Stalker. Great read!
Once again Jessie Hunt does what she does.best. Blake Pierce has done a masterful job of character development throughout the first 15 books. I can't wait to Ser what she does.with them next.
Jessie, Ryan and Hannah are in hiding. They have fake names, new phones that only a handful of people have, etc. Yet, Jessie and Ryan still have time to work on a case. I only read this to see if the Night Hunter was going to find Jessie and her family. This book had a few surprising moments. Overall, it was pretty good.
I love this series! Love Jessie and Ryan and Hannah. This story had two killers, including the Night Hunter who they were hiding from, under assumed names. Fast paced, easy reading, characters you care about. Start with book one.
The series is very good I've been binge listening to it everyday. Maybe that's the problem ? The first 30 minutes (in a total of 4:30 hours) are all about past events. The recalling of events felt unnatural.
This series makes me feel like I’m watching a cop show and I enjoy that! Even if some of the books are predicable and seem similar. Im not sure why, but I don’t want Jessie and Ryan to get married !! Onto the next book!!
