Details on major weapons, ships, vehicles, aircraft, tanks, along with a recounting on every major campaign and battle, and hundreds of biographies of military and civilian leaders are collected in this visual encyclopedia of World War II. Illustrations.
Sir John Desmond Patrick Keegan, OBE, FRSL was a British military historian, lecturer and journalist. He published many works on the nature of combat between the 14th and 21st centuries concerning land, air, maritime and intelligence warfare as well as the psychology of battle.
Although this edition was published in 2000 by PRC, this is a reprint of the 'Encyclopaedia of World War II', first published in 1977. Curiously, the modern imprint makes no mention of Keegan, but does mention that minor changes have been made by Chris Ellis. Either way, it is a terrifically researched book on the subject with an amazing selection of illustrations.
