An attention-grabbing story from the from chapter 1 as during a Havoc secret-society party Drake comes across the physically traumatized body of Olivia and grabbles with what to do. The brotherhood must be protected at all costs. Olivia returns to the elite Bart's College on a course of revenge for the life-threatening wrong done to her. But who's to blame? In the midst of discoveries and as their attraction grows, are they friends or enemies?
This story was a thrilling, emotional ride with a confident, strong, but vulnerable heroine, Olivia, and an alpha jerk, Drake. Tension, sexual chemistry amidst mystery held my attention throughout the storyline. Great surprises in that not everything is as it seems; not everyone, as she appeared. I loved the diversity of characters in the book -- the hero, the sister. Some personalities didn’t present as distinctly as the two main characters and the sister, for instance, Vaughn vs. others, but the character development, the interaction among the characters, were excellent. I loved the inner turmoil in Drake coupled with his alpha attitude. My favorite scene is the book occurred in the chapel. Holy taboo fire!
This book is a slower burn, not a stand-alone with a hangover of a cliffhanger. An overall well-written, enjoyable read. 4.5 stars
