Lily Harper #10

Daylight Fading

Rate this book
After returning to Edinburgh, Tallis, Bill and I find ourselves running from more demons, this time on the earthly plane!

Once we give the demons the slip, we’re on a quest—this time to free my aunt Annice from the clutches of none other than Alaire. Yep, it’s become a ‘if I can’t have you, I’m going after your family’ situation.

Once reunited with Annice, the five of us will set off on a much bigger quest—this one directly from the archangel, Uriel.

And along the way, I’m still plagued with my strange and haunting attraction to Asterion, the Minotaur. It’s a love that purportedly goes back hundreds of years. And that’s giving me cause for pause because I can’t help but wonder if my bond with Tallis will be enough or will I find myself falling in deeper with Asterion?

I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention.

My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I’m extremely fortunate to have been able to live in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

Thanks for checking out my books and I hope you enjoy them! Happy Haunting!

Lily, Tallis, Bill, and Asterion can't catch a break. Sneaking back to Lily's apartment in Edinburgh proves that when they find themselves evading more demons. After escaping the demons, the group then embarks on a dangerous journey to free Lily's Aunt Annice. Upon completion of that mission, the group finds themselves assisting Uriel.

The feelings Lily has for Tallis and Asterion are simmering at the surface. Her dreams regarding the three of them performing the acts and ritual necessary are getting more frequent, leaving her more confused and anxious. The unusual way to release Lily's powers has her trying to skirt the issue, yet yearning to feel the full effect of them.

Lily is a strong character, rolling with the hand she's been dealt. Her ability to stay level-headed (most of the time) while attempting to find her aunt and complete Uriel's quest, all while coming face-to-face with Alaire, shows the excellence of her character. Tallis is a broody Scotsman but his feelings for Lily are quite evident and his presence has a soothing effect on Lily. Bill, Lily’s foul-mouthed guardian angel, is a hoot. His mishmash of the English language has me laughing out loud and shaking my head. Asterion is a fantastic character. He pines for Lily but even when the love for Tallis is evident, Asterion has her back and will defend her with his life. Each character is well-written and complex.

While this is book 9 in the Lily Harper series, I did not start reading the series from the beginning. I enjoyed the story very much and will eventually start reading the series from the beginning. Despite only reading a few of the previous books, I was able to move through the pages and most of the book fell into place. The author does a wonderful job providing some details from previous events to aid in keeping the reader abreast with the story.

I was provided a copy of this book to review.

Lily and the gang are back and trying to get their belongings from Edinburgh . They are attacked by some demons and after giving them the slip they are sent on a even more dangerous quest . To find Lily's aunt Annice from the clutches of Alaire . Lily is still plagued with feelings for both Asterion and Tallis . She loves both of them and doesn't want to loose Tallis . Will their love be enough for Lily or will Asterion come between them .
As we left off we find Lily and the gang heading to Edinburgh , Lily is going through some changes and becoming more the girl next door and being the Herald brings on a lot more stress for her. She is feeling the weight of all that being the herald brings with it . Tallis is feeling a little bit jealous of the growing feeling between Lily and Asterion. Not going to tell you anymore about that cause it will spoil the book for you . We also get to see a new character Lily's aunt who has some important information on the quest they are going on . I really love these characters and love how they are evolving and growing with each book .
I was so excited when I started reading this book Lily and the guys are my favourite characters to read . They are complex and so well written . The author really puts them through some harrowing experiences but they come out better then ever . The author has a way of writing that will have you laughing one moment and the next moment you will have tears in your eyes. This is the ninth book in the series but it still seems fresh and new with each quest . I will admit there were a couple of spots that I felt that dragged just a little bit but over all I loved this installment of Lily's story and can't wait to see what happens next . I would suggest you read the other books before reading this one so you will know all the characters and what is happening to Lily throughout . This would be a great series to read on the cool autumn nights . Check it out you will love it

This installment of the series felt lighter and more emotionally based. Lily struggles with feelings for both Asterion and Tallis but is comforted by her relationship with her aunt. It seems like her aunt is filling a void that Lily has missed so much since she died and left her mother. Bill remains Bill, totally irreverent and a whole lot of fun! He brightens up everything with his light, pun intended.

This was a well-written, entertaining book. Lily and her friends are on another quest. Lily is still struggling with unsettling feelings for Asterion as well as being in love with Tallis. The book was fast paced and hard to put down. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more books in this series.

Great series 👍

Loving this series, truely interesting characters ( although I don't enjoy the explicit sex descriptions , they don't add anything interesting to the stories) I've just finished book 10 and about to start book 11. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Would recommend this Series to anyone who wants to escape this world of ours 💕

To the rescue

Lily and Tallis and Bill set out to save their friends and her aunt. Uriel helps as well and what could go wrong? I love this series full of magic and historical persons. I just can’t wait for the next adventure.

I'm still unsure about the whole Asterion triangle, but it will work itself out!

Lily and the others are trying to get information of what they are to now. She is being called the Herald because of what she accomplished. Once they leave her apartment, they are sent to another temporary safe haven. They see Uriel, he sends them to Tallis's home. There they are in for a surprise. They are given more information on how to get Lily's Aunt. From there they will be on a mission to get the information that Lily requires to fulfill her mission. They will have to try to stay a step ahead of Alaire which is not easy.

This was an interesting journey for the characters, it gives a little more to the story. You will see where Lily is at with her changing, her powers and her attraction to two guys. You will also see them men having their own thoughts about what is going on. I really didn't go into detail as it will spoil for readers. Look forward to reading the next book

I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Well it seems that Lilly just truly "CAN'T GET A BREAK". After what happens in the last book it just follows her , like a straved dog after cooking meat. Yup I'm saying Lilly is a big ol juicy steak and lots yes lots of baddies from both.
Then golden archway in the sky above down to the horrible depths of desperation and death. Not only Lilly is getting more missions when is she going to get , some "Lilly n Tallis time" wink wink nudge.
But work first it has ALWAYS been on both minds . As a new more emotional bonded "mission/task" Lilly and her trusted few ,are willing to volunteer. For something you may not come back from is a proof of most loyal in
. Yet after everything now I'm pleading to you Lilly & Tallis fans. You have followed the love, pain , emotional anguish which most partners would; have left cut off all ties. Not these two yet but in "Daylight Fading" it may not only be the daylight. Possibly Tallis and Kill don't complete the task with results us fans can't imagine.
Hint
Do remember read Lilly Harper in order it's so much easier to understand. Why we the fans have a passion for them....
Enjoy.

LILY!!!

Its all about Tallis! This love triangle is insane. Obviously I'm rooting for my main man Tallis.
I digress, home girl can't catch a break. Everytime she thinks she's getting somewhere another quest/journey is introduced. I'm exhausted for her.

If you're a fan of the series you won't want to miss this installment!
