It has been a busy and hectic start of 2021. My work at office is picking up. So I am bit behind from my reading. So anyway, I finally finished Ivory White. I like Miss Hebert. She is one of my favorite NA romance author. Ivory White is a retelling of Snow White.

I do enjoy this book very much. So much more than I expected. Neo as a hero done his role very well as protector. His vulnerability makes me want to love him so bad. Comfort him. While Ivory done a good job being damsel in distress without being too dramatic. Her shelter world provides comical moment in the story.

I have to say this book has a bit of paranormal aspect. Just a bit. The twist and plot bit dragging, but I still enjoy it very much.

Overall this is a wonderful read.

I have loved every single book by Cambria Hebert. Multiple books by her are one of my favorites ones and I have reread several. When I heard about Ivory White, I got super excited. I couldn’t wait to start it, but life has been crazy and busy. So the first moment I had time, I started it. I was hooked after the first chapter. I absolutely adored Ivory White! It’s a retelling of Snow White with some great suspense, many surprises, all the feels and love.

Ivory is living a privileged, easy life and she’s enjoying it. But that changes when someone tries to kill her one morning. Ivory runs away and has to hide. She walks into a bar and meets Neo. She’s not really nice to him, but there is something about Ivory that has Neo intrigued. So the next time Ivory needs help, Neo is there. Neo and Ivory will change and their lives will never be same again.

I adored Ivory and Neo, but I have to admit that Ivory took a little longer to adore. Ivory is who she is. She knows what she wants and gets it her way. But she doesn’t know it any differently. Ivory will try to help Neo and his friends. Ivory is a strong, fierce, rich and determined woman.

Neo, wow, what a man! He is loyal, caring, poor, determined, talented and distant. Neo isn’t perfect, but he does what he needs to do to live. He loves his sister and his friends deeply. He would do anything for them, just like for Ivory. Neo’s life is so different from Ivory’s, but he can’t let her go. He wants her. He needs her. And Ivory feels the same and she doesn’t care where he’s from. Neo and Ivory will be a wonderful couple.

I also adored Neo’s friends/roommates. They are a great mix of men. I loved their friendships. They’re always there for each other. They take Ivory into their home even though they don’t have much. There is only one man whose not too happy with Ivory’s presence, but even he will warm up to her. I definitely want a book for all those men.

because I mostly skimmed through it for the introduction of the characters.

OMG, where has Eric Michael Summerer been all my life?? He’s actually the main reason I chose to go for this (audio)book in the first place. Meeting the whole cast of characters was a nice side effect tho. And boy, I could’ve listened to this man for many hours more. We def need him in the MM community for narrating audios, that’s for damn sure!!

As for the book. This is kind of a Snow White retelling and slow-burnish af but I liked it a lot. I started "Prince" first (because it’s MM) and in the end I read/listened to both books parallel.

And look at these stunning covers! Love them!!
I was also totally intrigued by the the Huntsman and I’m glad there is a book for him as well.

But even though I enjoyed the parts of the story I listened to a lot, there is a big niggle and I still don’t get why this isn’t addressed so often: No mention at all of condoms or any other kind of protection when they finally (!!!) get naked together.

*the audio was free with my audible subscription

Eh. Not my favorite by this author. I found the beginning a little too goofy and on the nose with the Snow White retelling. I found the h hard to like. By the end, I liked the h more but didn’t lover her. I ended up pretty lukewarm on the hero. Definitely not CH’s normal in-control confident alpha hero. This guy was a bit too soft, hangdog, and wishy-washy for my tastes. I like her alphas much more. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Overall it was ok - it had a few cute moments, but nothing spectacular.

I shamelessly begged Cambria for this book because 1. I’m obsessed with her and her words and 2. It’s a modern take on a storybook retelling

Holy crap she did not disappoint. I loved this book very much. Ivory is this perfect combination of Upper East Side Princess yet totally relatable to the every day person. And the tension? Holy Happily Ever After Fairy Godmother I wanted to grab these two and make the just kiss already.

There’s twist and turns that even when you know the story of Snow White Miss Hebert still have you questioning things.

This book will suck you in and make you wish you were one of the Misfits!!! 5 very happily ever after stars for this one!!!

This book is like a snow white retelling but with more fun, humour and mystery. Ivory White is the elite of the upper east side until one day a huntsman attacks her, he was hired to kill her but doesnt so he threatens her to leave and never come back again,he cuts her hair and breaks her nail as proof that he did kill her when he didnt. Ivory white runs for her life and meets Neo along with his 3 roommates who. They are from the other side and can do anything to survive, they let Ivory stay in their place and help her out as Neo and Ivory fall in love but cant be together cuz they are from 2 different worlds. This book was sweet, i loved Neo’s character and how he was falling in love with Ivory. I will say that books like this is not my type cuz it was literally like a disney movie ... smtg like Enchanted, but i really enjoyed it especially the beginning. It was funny to see how Ivory was trying to adjust in Neo’s life, she is like a spoiled princess but not annoying kinda, she was adorable and the way Neo handled her was *swoon* 😍. However, i felt that Ivory and Neo’s relationship at the end was a bit rushed up, one moment they wanted to be with each other and then suddenly Neo was running away, but other than that I loved how her friendship developed with the other guys and also Neo, we also get to see the huntsman’s POV and later it reveals who it was and i was not expecting that, it was kinda shocking. There was like an instant bonding between Neo and Ivory, their relationship seriously reminded me of Giselle and Robert from Enchanted cuz Neo is so grumpy but also sweet and Ivory is adorable and quirky!

Cambria Hebert strikes again! I love Ivory and Neo and the rest of the misfits. Ivory White is a contemporary retelling of Snow White, it was a romantic suspense story that was delightful to read. I love Neo so much and his connection with Ivory was swoony. I also love how Ivory just fit with all the misfits, even the one who seemed to hate her. I love how they connected in a way and immediately took her in. I can't wait to get more books in the series and see how their friendship evolves. We got a hint into a couple, an MM couple which has me ecstatic! I can't wait to get a new MM romance from the queen.

DNF @ 45%

I only read as much as I did because I usually like Cambria Hebert books. Definitely not this one.

This is a Snow White retelling. Now, my memory of the Snow White story is a bit hazy, but I remember Snow White as being kind and sweet. Ivory is definitely not that. She is judgmental and rude. She refuses food, even though she could faint, because it wasn’t made by a top chef. She looks down on every one. And every few pages she is either falling over, needing to be saved or she is crying. I get that she is supposed to be a pampered heiress, but surely even those can at least be gracious about all the help they are given.

Also, there is zero chemistry between Ivory and her love interest. I have zero connection with any of the characters. I guess I do have a connection- they all annoy me. So DNF @ 45%

I loved it so much!
I'm a huge fan of Cambria Hebert and have been for years. Her characters always have real fun personalities and the story usually has a great suspenseful undertone that has you dying to turn the next page.
Ivory White is not a disappointment!

The perfect blend of a modern Snow White retelling and rich girl/poor boy, Ivory White takes you on a journey full of suspense and rich character development. It's fun when new characters show up and you're trying to figure out which fairy tale creature they might be. I mean, come on, Ivory White ends up in the GRIMMS. My little fairytale loving heart exploded a little.
The suspenseful nature of the book is consistent throughout, with the perfect sprinkling of romance and emotional angst between the H/h.
Definitely recommend!!

I started out as enjoying the book but it got tiresome to read after 50%.
The heroine "squeaked/squealed/yelled/whined/screamed" in every single page. Started to get on my nerves.
I liked the hero till the heroine went back to her world ,after that I didn't really like his actions nor did I like how the story progressed.
The twist about "huntsman" was good.
The book's cover is also stunning and the dress and style is part of a scene of the book. The cover is what attracted me to read the book synopsis.

”How I wanted to fall into that book with her. How I wanted to get lost in her pages.”
Gaaah. This was just one of the epically swoony one liners that left me a puddle on the floor.

But, before I delve into my review I must spend some time gushing over the cover. It is absolute perfection and one of my favorite covers I’ve had the pleasure of viewing. I’d one click for the cover alone blurb unneeded.

Now, the story. I always get so giddy with excitement to read a retelling of a fairytale...Cambria Hebert took a classic favorite and truly made it her own.

Ivory with her sensitivity, love for all things nails, makeup, fashion and a pure heart of good.
Neo all charming yet roguish, uberly sexy but secretly vulnerable who said and did things that melted my heart.
These two had that whole opposites attraction thing going that slow burned full of hot sexual tension that had me screaming at them to get together already.

Cambria Hebert weaved a tale that was full of suspense and intrigue with bits of humor mixed in. It was everything you could ask for and with every page turned I thirsted for more. Any trepidation on Miss Hebert’s part was totally unwarranted because she knocked it out the park with this one.

Cambria has done it again!! It was the distraction I needed in life right now. This is such a cute modern day twist on a fairytale.
Neo and his band of misfits swoop in and bringing Ivory White, the perfect amount of comfort needed during the chaos as her life is turned upside down being hunted down by the Huntsman who had every intention of ending Ivory’s life but things don’t go as planned.

Ivory manages to escape, and stays on the run hiding in the Grimms with her new friends, friends she feels growing as family the longer she stays. Neo, her knight in shining flannel tries to keep the princess at bay, but the longer he spends with her, the more he realizes he can’t live without her. Can their worlds collide and become one, or will Ivory leave her time in the Grimms behind has she goes back and faces her realities? Guess in order to know, you’ll have to read the book yourself! ;)

I loved this modern day retelling of Snow White. I loved Neo and his band of misfit brothers. I love that they found each other and formed a brotherhood that looks after one another. I loved Ivory. I loved that she was dramatic, naive, but also confident intelligent and kind. She and Neo were perfect and I can’t wait for more of this series!

Ivory White is an inspired/retelling of Snow White.

When the huntsman tries to murder Ivory White, but she is let free at the last second, with her nail ripped off and her hair cut off, she runs to the Grimms. A part of New York the modern day princes has never seen. Somehow, she meets a group of three men, all misfits and untrustworthy, but somehow their dirty little home makes her feel safe, especially the mysterious Neo. Ivory gets thrown into a world she doesn't understand, running from the huntsman and falling for a man worlds apart from her own.

I have read a fair share of Cambria Hebert books. I love the majority, some were all right, but this one has a different feel to it than the rest of her books. Yes, it still has its protective hero who always saves the damsel in distress, it has the suspense element , of course the instalove feel. But these characters felt a bit different.

Ivory is spoiled, childish at times, a huge princess, but she is also kind, open, vulnerable and strong. I loved how she changed throughout the story and we saw so many sides to her. I normally don't like characters like her, but I really enjoyed following her. Neo is your standard protective, charming with a bit of mischief hero but he i really enjoyed seeing him afraid, scared and doubting himself because of his feelings for Ivory. The side characters were interesting and fun. I really enjoyed the Huntman's POV throughout the book. And can't wait to see more of their own stories.

The story itself is kind of ridiculous, but so much fun. At first, I didn't know what was happening. But the story is filled with the weird situations Ivory finds herself in. Almost getting murdered, running away, jail, doing laundry, getting murdered again, dead fish being thrown at her, sleeping in a room full of weird guys and a drooling dog. It's just a wild ride. I did guess the big reveal pretty early on which I think was kind of a bummer, but the outcome made up for it. It's an interesting twist to the whole Snow White story. I had fun spotting the reference in the book.

I enjoyed it,had fun reading it. I'm interested in the rest of the series but I didn't love it like most of her books. I feel like we didn't get to know Neo for a long time, so i didn't get invested in him like I did with Ivory, the plot twist/reveal were a bit predictable, and the ending was a bit dragging. I did like how it all wrapped up though. Overall, it's a solid book.

I’ve been a huge fan of Cambria’s for a while now and I couldn’t wait to read this new book....

Firstly.. characters..

Ivory; an elite New York City girl running from danger...
I love that even though Ivory was brought up in a wealthy environment she still managed to be a caring, thoughtful and strong person who tries to see the good in everyone.

Neo; a closed off misfit who feels unworthy of love...

I love this character! I think his past holds him back and that meeting Ivory was the best thing that ever happened to him. I like that even though he tried to act like an unfeeling jackass he couldn’t hold it for too long and we got to see the caring man underneath.

Also, I absolutely LOVED all the secondary characters they made this story that little bit more phenomenal.

Secondly.. storyline

DAMN!!!
This had got to be one of my favourite reads this year..
This storyline is absolutely amazing and crazy, I got sucked in from the prologue and didn’t want it to end.

I couldn’t keep up with the twist and turns that kept coming.. some of the plot twists were down right SHOCKING!!!!

I don’t want to say any more but...
READ THIS BOOK!!!!!

Lastly.. Thank you..

Thank you Cambria, I can always count on you to give me an amazing story.
There’s a reason you’re one of my absolute favourite authors.. you NEVER disappoint me with your writing, I can always one click your books and be rewarded with a truly beautiful story no matter what the genre.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!
Again it’s an amazing read and you won’t be sorry!!!!

Your next must read. You won't be disappointed!

I always have a hard time writing reviews, because I am NOT an author nor do I have the talent to be one, even though I wish I did. Cambria, she has that talent. She has loads and loads of that talent. Her stories are ALWAYS great. Her characters are people that I wish were real and in my friend circle. I have yet to read a book by her that was not a 5 star rating.

This story grabbed me from the very beginning. Ivory seems so innocent and pampered but with an innate goodness. She is those things but she is also strong. My favorite line in the book is by Ivory " I knew my worth and there was nothing wrong with charging full price! " This might be my favorite of all time.

Neo is not your typical hero, he is a criminal with a good heart that he keeps locked away to avoid pain.

Both have traumas in their past. Ivy doesn't feel safe (with good reason) and Neo thinks he is not good enough because of his criminal ways. Together they heal each other and end up with a love most people dream about.

And chapter 57.....that is all I am saying....

I love this story and cannot wait to read about the other misfits. Although, I don't think they are misfits, they sounds like my mind if people. Which may make me a misfit too!

4.5 Go on strongly despite the fear stars 🌟!!!!
I really liked this book. Neo was a sweetheart and Ivory, God she's a darling. The story was very light but the writing was so engaging I couldn't put it down.

Ivory was cute but a badass. She knew what she wanted and did not let anyone treat her like a doormat. She demanded respect and did not let Neo treat her any less than a princess which she was.

“I’m a criminal.” “Yes. A very good one.” What an odd thing to say. My hackles rose even more. “How would you know?” “Because you stole my heart… something no one else has ever been able to do.”

“We’re from two different worlds.” I reminded her. “I don’t care.” A harsh sound ripped from my throat. “Yeah, because you have everything to give, and I have nothing to offer.” “All I want is your heart.”

I know these lines are super cheesy when read separately but in the moment they were perfect.

Cambria Hebert is back at it with this amazing retelling of Snow White! I've always been a huge fan of retellings. The fact that it was Cambria Hebert's story made it even better for me! This was the exact read that I needed right now.

I loved how diverse the characterization of Ivory was, she had that princess feel but still had that sense of strength. The development of Neo and Ivory was amazing to watch, even as they struggled with it and the world around them. The way that the Misfits, with Neo in the lead, continue to help and comfort Ivory is a joy to watch.

This book was loaded with tons of cheesy one-liners that had me rolling laughing, that it was Neo made it all the better, it was like he couldn't help himself!

My favorites in this book were hands down Snort and Fletch, and I can't wait to see where his story goes.

This is a 10/10 must read for all my friends!

A cinnamon roll antihero (ish)? What's more adorable than that? So FUNNY! And just as charming. I loved pretty much everybody, especially the elite clueless marshmallow of a heroine. Man, she was funny as shit! And not because she meant to be. And Kudos on that twist, I loved it!

There was just one part of the plot that, even after all was said and done, could not manage to make sense. It affected the enjoyment of the book very little for me, though, so whatever.

I loved the whole book and highly recommend it, especially if you're looking for something that's easy breezy yet captivating and funny, with a lot of heart. A fabulous cocktail of a book.

I can't wait for more books in this series to get published, for the guys and the sister. So exciting!

Well,i loved the idea, hated one of the main characters, loved the other one..But still i have no idea how to rate this book.
Oh my..I did not expect this. The story was good and it could have been amazing if the whole "spoiled princess" act was missing.Mhm..Yet,i've read this book in a few hours because i wanted to know what will happen until the end. That says something, right?
What saved the whole book? The way it was written.Ignoring the "spoiled princess" act,i loved the way it was written ,how the characters were described and i liked that it was written from two points of view.Oh,yeah,in my opinion that saved everything and it made me give it more than one star.

So..Read the book, make your own opinion..

Holy plot twist Batman! I definitely did not see that part coming at the end (the huntsman). But it totally made sense when reading the author's notes at the end because Cambria apparently didn't see it coming either lol.

This was a modern day take on Snow White. At times it was a bit cheesy with the fairytale characters and descriptions, but it wouldn't be a take on the classic without those.

I'll admit that I was annoyed with Ivory at first. She seemed very spoiled and "Clueless" in her personality. But then we see that she's just sheltered and really didn't know any better. She does grow on you though with how she interacts with the men and we see that she has a huge heart during those interactions. She was certainly tough despite her circumstances.

Then there's Neo. I wish I could say I loved him, but his stubbornness got on my last nerve after a while. He loves her, he loves her not. Or that's how it felt, just picking a petal to see how he'd feel from one minute to the next. His 'she's mine but I don't want to want her' attitude became redundant and annoying. He gets his act together just in time to save the heroine, as any fairy tale goes. I wish I could say he's better in the next book, but I'm halfway through that book and his dominating 'my way or no way' attitude is still in place...

This was a great start to the 'series that's not a series' and I look forward to following along with the rest of the misfits (so far Book 2 is way better than Book 1).

Ivory White was a magical moment for me. I found myself enchanted with the modern twist of a New York fashionista Snow White. I am a sucker for stories that have protective heroes and Cambria NEVER disappoints in that category. The urban tale of Ivory White was mystifying and nicely packaged with a healthy dose of steam and chemistry in the mist of modern folklore. I loved her spin on this classic tale, and she has yet again earned herself five stars or dare I say, five BIG apples (New York City style). She has that way of pulling you in and I found myself wanting to get lost and stay lost in the magic of the storybook!

A fairytale with an intriguing modern day twist.
I loved this book from the first page to the last. I became mesmerized and captivated in the story. I didn't just read it, but I experienced it with each character and every turn of the page!

4 stars!

This book was pretty good!! I had a few nitpicky things with it, but otherwise, it was entertaining and I loved Ivory’s character.
The plot was a little predictable, but considering this is a modern version of Snow White, I’m gonna let it slide. My only real issue with this book was Neo. He was a great character at first, but at some point, I just became irritated with his constant jealousy and anger, and flightiness. It was literally almost like listening to “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” By The Clash. But overall, this was an enjoyable read, and I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
