The subtitle is misleading. While these stories are about the great outdoors and Canadians' adventures therein, they weren't particularly funny. That doesn't mean they weren't interesting; in some instances, they were downright impressive. More power to those who thrive seeking thrills and adventure.

C'mon, how can you not love a book with this title? Really?! I had so much fun reading this; there was such a huge variety of stories about living with the outdoors, fighting with the outdoors, loving the outdoors...

A collection of fun/humorous life experiences had in the Canadian outdoors. From unknowingly playing with wolves at a rest stop to touring Prince Edward Island on a homemade couch-cycle, I guarantee at least a laugh and a half.

I enjoyed this collection of outdoor adventures, partially because I recently spent 3 weeks - including a 10-day backpacking trip - in the Canadian Rockies. The canoeing and biking stories stood out for me most (although I haven't taken trips via either mode). The rescue of a moose was pretty special, and I would really like to see the ice canoe race at the Carnaval de Quebec.

Like every collection of travel stories I've ever come across, the quality varied. But everything was either readable or short. The hilarious in-tent polar bear attack was the best and, unfortunately, the first, story, but some solid runner-ups include the couchbike, the trip from Winnipeg to the mouth of the Amazon and the ruminations on the death of an ice-climber.

I was looking in a used bookstore for something light to read during a summer holiday and found this -- 23 short stories written about other people's holidays and travels. Some were funny, some inspiring, and others just made me shrug. But it was interesting to read of some of the crazy adventures some people ended up in.

These books are just funny and definitely made me smile. Most of the stories were hilarious, so much that I had to share them with other people.
