With a character called Caca what do you think this book is about? Well, it's about a Mouse called Astro Mouse that is as bright as a burned out light bulb. There is a Light Bulb (that is robotic like and floats along) that has a crush on a lamp. There is a Lamp that likes having adventures with Light Bulb. There is a funky space Chicken, talking bubble gum, odd Dumpling people, a Skunk Woman and more. This book has everything a Cartoon Network cartoon would have. Bad jokes, bad morals and simple art. I am starting to get bored with the "Hero/Main Character" being clueless, none to intelligent and having an ego. Jim Salicrup's afterwards is more humorous for me than the entire two story arc I had read before. But if you like that goofy, off beat, bathroom humor, the universe is the limit.
I received an electronic ARC from Papercutz. AstroMouse, Lightbulb and Caca are back for another adventure. This time they take on an evil foursome to help save the Dumplings and their planet. To do this, they reunite with past friends and create a plan to train the Dumplings and defeat the evil ones. Plenty of humor for the mid-elementary age group.
