Can I forgive the man I love after discovering he was a big part of the night I lost everything? How do we rebuild ourselves better and stronger?
Nate Davis
I had it all. A promising NHL career, amazing friends, and the best college ice hockey team the state had ever seen. Then one reckless night derailed my entire future. It was an accident, of course, but it doesn’t matter. The accident killed my best friend and destroyed our entire team. How can we ever come back from this? How can I ever come back from this?
Ali Garett
Figure skater protegee, trained by my champion of a mother. At least, that’s who I used to be until the car accident that changed my life forever. When my father receives a job offer to coach the best college team in the state, they offer me paid tuition into the city’s most prestigious university. Meeting and falling for the charming Ice Hockey Captain of my dad’s new team is just icing on the cake. Nathan Davison is tall, charming, and sexy as sin, and we can’t get enough of each other...
Until I find out that Nate was there the night my mother was taken from me in that accident. And he had a bigger role to play than I expected, shattering the illusion I had for our happily ever after.
Can we move past this together, or will the night of that accident tear us apart forever?
“Dirty Point” is a steamy college sports love story with a hero. If you like your main man athletic, deep and steamy, you’re going to love Nate. As always, it’s a full length novel with no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.
Alison/Ali is a former Olympic hopeful figure skater who was involved in a car accident 2 years ago that ruined her skating career and killed her mother and she has now moved and is college to study marine biology. Nate is a star hockey player who has been drafted into the NHL when his college career is over but he was involved in an horrific car accident 2 years ago that took his best friend’s life and he is still recovering emotionally from that loss. The hockey team did poorly last year and Ali’s dad is the new coach trying to get the team to return to their past greatness. When Ali and Nate meet there is a mutual attraction and they become close. How will Ali react when she learns that Nate was involved the accident that killed her mother? Will Nate and Ali be able to move on?
I give this story 4.5 stars. There is a lot of heartbreak with both Nate and Ali losing someone they were very close to and Ali also lost her figure skating dreams. They both had a hard time dealing with their loses and then Ali unreasonably blamed Nate for his actions but the author did a great job of showing us all of her thoughts and feelings. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Nate and Ali. He's a hockey player who is going places. She's a figure skater with the hopes of an olympic gold. When a fateful night in December flips both of their world upside down. A car pileup in a blizzard leaving a best friend thrown from the vehicle and lifeless on the side of the road and a mother to for before her child. Allie ended up with a severe leg injury that ended her professional skating career. What her dad gets a chance to coach for ESU she gets a chance to attend college. Nate is playing hockey still with the team, still being drafted for the NHL, but the passion he felt isn't there anymore. What a chance encounter with the new coach's daughter leaves him feeling alive for the first time in 2 years, he wants to see where it will go. The to develop a relationship that is fast burning. Unfortunately when the truth about that December night is revealed feelings will be hurt.

This story is phenomenal and an absolute must read! The story of Nate and Ali is one ful of emotions - love, loss, anger, fear - all the things that make a story great and this one is no exception! The two meet on their worst night, in the same accident, he loses his best friend and she loses her mother. Two years later, they will meet again, but neither will remember their first meeting - when Nate saved her from the car at her mother's insistance. They will begin their relationship and things are going really well until a heartfelt talk one night will reveal the truth to them both. The pain will be too much for her and in the end, his friends and teammates, will confront her with the truth - that they haven't seen Nate this happy since the accident - and she will try to regain the love she thought she lost when she pushed Nate away.

Ali and her mom are in a car accident on their way to meet her new skating coach. Nate is also in that same accident but in a different car. That night and accident they both lose a lot. Two years later Ali’s dad gets a new job coaching the ESU hockey team. There Ali meets Nate and they relationship almost immediately. They go good and then they realize they didn’t just meet and have more in common than they thought. It’s a cute book. It’s an insta-love, all the characters are great, the story is good and it’s an HEA. I enjoyed reading it.

This was my first book by this author but it definitely won't be the last! I can't wait to read more from her. It had all the feels... I was reading with tears pouring down my face a couple of times. A lovely story with such good characters and so well written. I loved Nate and Ali so much. Hated it to be over but so glad they got their HEA. Definitely following the author now and going to work through their back catalog.

This author knows how to take you on an emotional journey.... At the outset I groaned about this being a college romance. I always become invested in Amber's well crafted stories & was glad I trusted her judgement in not creating the typical boringly predictable books in this genre. Two wounded souls come together to heal, can they recover from their injuries, some not visible on the outside? Detailed, poignant, compelling, running the gamut of emotions with a building undercurrent of sizzle. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
An absolutely fantastic book one in the Emerald Summit University series! The story line will grab and hold your attention from start to finish; it is well thought out and emotionally deep, and consistent with drama, twists and turns, secrets, and more. Well developed characters you will love and root for; the chemistry between them is off the charts! This book is guaranteed to leave you wanting more. Definitely recommended!

This is a wonderful college sports romance. The storyline has major losses for both our main characters personally as well as career-wise. Our H & h meet, have attraction and feelings for one another until the past rears its ugly head and causes more tumult. On this journey, these realistically portrayed characters must learn to leave the past behind, and move towards a future and a possible HEA.
I love steamy sports romance so I was eager to read Dirty Point by Amber Thielman. This was a fantastic story of love, loss and new beginnings. Nate is a college hockey player and his world is turned upside down when his friend/teammate is killed in a car accident with Nate behind the wheel. Ali is a skater with aspirations for the olympics when she and her mom are in the same accident. Ali's mom is also killed. Can Nate and Ali find happiness again together? This was a beautiful story that I highly recommend.
This was such a page turner from start to finish. Such a fateful meeting between Ali and Nate. ANd the wit on ALi really makes the book fun and light in the midst of all the sadness. Nate and Ali really compliment each other and are just on sweet and cute. You so want them to have their HEA! TAhis book was enjoyable to read despite all the emotions it invokes!

This story about Ali and Nate is really about so much more. There is drama, there is baggage, there is sadness and finally there is happiness. The story is good. The writing is good. The characters are well developed and likeable. The secondary characters give dimension to the story. An epilogue would have been fun. Overall a great story. 4.5 Stars

A fantastic college sports romance that begins with a dual tragedy and builds on it as two individuals need to find a way to forgive themselves and be able to see their way past what had occurred to find a future together! A heart-tugging, very emotional journey for Nate and Ali that will stay with you long after you have finished it!!

This book drew me in from the first few pages. It is an emotional read that kept me captivated all the way through. Broken dreams and broken hearts that desperately need mending. The characters are well developed and the storyline was strong. This maybe my favorite yet by this author.

I made it about half way through the book and I just couldn’t read it anymore. I felt like the storyline was super rushed and they were obsessed with each other after a week. I didn’t get to the part where they found out they were in the same accident so not sure what the rest of the book was like but I couldn’t finish it.
A first book in what's seems to be a start in another promising series by this author. I absolutely loved the dual first person point of view, which is a deal breaker for me. I received an ARC of this book through bookfunnel in exchange for an honest voluntary review.
There was an accident. certain people died. Nathan saved Alison . Two years later they meet again and feel instantly drawn to each other. A really well written story about tragedy, loss, love and friendship.
Accidents have a way of changing things and people. Sometimes they bring people together and sometimes it pushes them apart.....
Ali is 21 and life these past few years has been tough. Now she is going to embark on a new life in a new college, in a new town and her father a new job. "Things will be better." he says. Well try telling that to Ali's heart that was shattered years ago.
Nate's college team has been playing terrible these past few years. Every since that fateful night, his brothers, his hockey team has really lost it's spirit. Since last year was so rough, this year isn't looking too good either. Especially since their coach up and quit. But now they have a new coach. And that new coach is determined to bring back their spirit and have them winning again.
When these two lost souls meet, it's as if fate is playing it's hand. Ali and Nate are trying to find themselves. Trying to be happy again. Can these two people heal each other?
This book is a soul searching, beautiful book of self discovery. If you believe in fate, then hold on because this book is fate at it's finest. The characters are beautiful people. The chemistry between them is magnetic and their story is written as if it was made from the stars above.
Amber is the queen at writing a great tearjerker. And this book is the purest example of heartbreak and tears. Her stories are so beautiful and seem as if she has written them from deep inside her soul. Her books have a way of touching you and changing you at the same time. Smooth delivery and execution every time.
This book is a perfect example of tragedy and healing. Of great love from the Gods. A fate is something that is meant to be and is beyond your control. And Fate played her part well in this tragic love story. So break out a box of tissues and sit back, because once you start you won't want to put it down.
Amber Thielman scores with DIRTY POINT (Emerald Summit University, # 1). In this story, Alison Garrett relocates to Emerald Summit University when her father is offered the position of head hockey coach. There she meets star hockey player, Nate Davison, not knowing that their lives already crossed paths on the worst day of her life. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult readers.
Amber Thielman does an admirable job with her plot and character development. Alison (Ali) Garett was an Olympic hopeful figure skater until her dreams were ruined by a car accident. She struggles in the aftermath. Meanwhile, Nate suffers the loss of his best friend and teammate. They both experienced a tragedy that affects them years later. They meet and begin to heal until their past is revealed.
I like how the story went back and forth in time. I also appreciated how Nate’s and Ali’s lives intersected. DIRTY POINT is a heartfelt and emotional read. It is skillfully written and believable.
This is the first book that I have read by Amber Thielman. I enjoyed her writing style and ability to convey emotions. I plan on continuing to follow the Emerald Summit University series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Ali lost her mum in a tragic accident years earlier, an accident which also left Ali unable to pursue figure skating. Nate is an ice hockey player, who lost a star player from his team, and the team has been struggling to play together ever since.
When Ali's dad takes up the coaching position for the ice hockey team, Nate and Ali's paths cross, and it seems finding each other was just what they needed. Maybe it was fate?
This was a sweet romance, with characters you just want to get their happy ever after. A great read!
Loved it. Nate and Ali's lives were planned since they were born. Nate was to be an NHL hockey player and Ali an Olympian but one fateful night will end the dream for one of them.
This was an absolutely fantastic book. The characters, both main and supporting, were so well realized. The story was descriptive and relatable. The story was filled with drama and romance. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

Such pain! Their emotions are so strong you feel every hurt, their heartbreak, grief, guilt, and hopelessness. You watch them start to survive, recover, and start to believe again. You see the hope, their love blossom, and the healing begin. Then in the blink of an eye thy shatter and give in, give up. Love is fragile, hope is weak, until they accept and forgive only then their love can grow! Is she strong enough, is it too late? Read and see. Another awesome plot with lots of surprises and fantastic characters!
Another wonderful romance from Amber Thielman! I loved the story of Nate and Ali-- how they had to deal with their pasts in order to trust and move on with each other, their attraction to each other, their common background regarding sports. I also loved that there were caring parents in the story, something you don't see much in the new adult world. I loved the last scene, and only wish there was more to Nate and Ali's story, to see how they get along in the future. I hope they show up later in cameos in the next books in the Emerald Summit University series. Can't wait to read more!
Sometimes fate gets it right even when it was a tragedy that started it all. Great story of two souls who meet under tragic circumstances and then re-connect years later. Well written, great characters, good storyline and great ending. Would love to read about some of the "background" characters in spin-off books...hint, hint.
I was given and ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
This book was really good. It was sweet, heartbreaking, and made you believe in fate. Its been a while since I cried over a storyline. There were great side characters also! I look forward to reading more from the author!
