Chronicles of the Stone Veil #4

A Battle of Blood and Stone

Rate this book
Another day, another step closer to Hell on Earth being unleashed.

With every piece that falls into place for the queen of the Underworld, Kymaris gains strength and power that will make it more difficult to defeat her when the time comes. It feels as if we’re in a desperate race to get just one step ahead of her, but my demise feels closer than it ever has before with still so much to do.

The first order of business is to unlock the angelic powers with which I was gifted at birth, and Carrick insists on getting help from my archnemesis to do so. Yes, I have to save the world, but my priority has now become rescuing my sister from the Underworld. While there are many questions still to be answered about my long-lost twin, I know I will not win this battle without her by my side.

In the midst of all the doom and gloom, Carrick has become my beacon of shining light. Our connection unimaginable, my heart recognizes his as the other half of its whole. Inexplicable and deeper than one could ever imagine, the love I hold for him is forged by destiny, however ill-fated it may turn out to be.

And those are the feelings I must hold close…to keep me going. Because a painful lesson is on the horizon—betrayal never comes from your enemies.

A Battle of Blood and Stone is book four of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.

I have mixed feelings about this fourth book of the series.

While I found the author's work to be incredibly entertaining from the very first book, there were some aspects of this particular installment that left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. At times, the pacing seemed to drag, and certain sections felt unnecessarily repetitive. Furthermore, there were a few key plot points that could have been better explained to help enhance the overall narrative.

Despite these criticisms, I remain fully invested in the story and am eagerly anticipating the final book in the series. There is so much to enjoy in this author's work, and I have no doubt that the conclusion will be a satisfying one.

Overall, while this book may not be perfect, it is still a worthy addition to the series and an enjoyable read.

A Battle of Blood and Stone has magic, murky alliances, family, love, hope, and a surprising betrayal, all of which make it such an enchanting read. I'm in love with the epic romance that is steadily building between Carrick and Finley. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a hopeless romantic or if I just can't get enough of the demigod. With one powerful, intense, unreal mindboggling cliffhanger, I'm left on edge until I can get The Rise of Fortune and Fury in my hands. Will Finley finally truly connect with her twin? Will there be a trip to the Underworld in my future? And will Finley actually survive the prophecy, Rune's curse, and get a happy ending with Carrick? I'm telling you now... Carrick better get everything he deserves. The male has been put through enough and needs to be freaking happy!!

Hold on to your reading glasses and get ready for an amazing ride where you won't see what's coming and you can't trust anyone!

It’s all hands on deck in A Battle of Blood and Stone because Kymaris wants hell on Earth and Finley knows she’s the only one who can stop her. To do so, she needs to learn how to tap into her angelic powers, find her twin sister who’s been raised in the underworld and in general get all the help she can.

Finley, Carrick and the rest of the “prophecy fight squad” need to work together in order to out maneuver Kymaris, and though they form an outstanding group, they still need outside help and some of it will be accepted reluctantly. Like Finley’s nemesis direct involvement in helping her unlock her powers. But she has to be careful who she trusts.
“For there to be betrayal, there would have to have been trust first.”
― Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

The suspense, intrigue and action are important factors in the story’s enjoyments, I was absorbed from start to finish. But it was Carrick and Finley’s smoldering and fated relationship that keeps evolving and burrowing in my heart that is the real magic in this already outstanding series.
“Every time you walk into a room after being apart, it’s my soul that recognizes you.”

A Battle of Blood and Stone is book #4 of Chronicles of the Stone Veil series by Sawyer Bennett who expertly recaps events from the previous books in case you missed it, but it’s recommended to read them in order. It is told from both points of view leaning towards the heroine’s side and ends with a massive cliffhanger. Genres: Paranormal Romance | Fantasy Tropes: Alpha hero | billionaire hero | kick@$$ heorine

A Battle of Blood and Stone is the fourth book in the Chronicles of the Stone Veil tetralogy, it also gives the reader a better understanding of the epic love story of Finley and Carrick that has lasted throughout time.

It's both beautiful and tragic.

Their souls will always recognize one another, but fate (or Rune) is jealous, hateful, and vindictive and will stop at nothing to punish Carrick for the rest of his life for the one transgression he did against him.

I enjoyed this book.
A lot of answers were revealed.
Bonds were made stronger, and a key player was lost.

I didn't suspect the traitor until it was too late, well played Ms. Bennett!

This book was the perfect preamble for the final battle against Kymaris.

I can't wait to read the next book!
So many things could/can happen.

This series gets better and better with each book.

My love for Carrick has grown exponentially to the point where I just end up smiling when I think of this character. Carrick is without a doubt hot but in this book, he shows his sweeter side especially towards Finley and honestly, I just fall harder in love with this cautious, wise, powerful being with each chapter.

Finley, this stubborn yet feisty woman is amazing as ever- brave, badass extraordinaire, smart, tough, funny and beautiful.

A Battle of Blood and Stone was one hell of a ride. With adventures that got me totally engrossed, to actions that made this page flipping’ good, with mysteries, intrigue, off the charts chemistry that made me look like the heart eyes emoji…A Battle of Blood and Stone was awesome and I can’t wait for the next book.
Speaking of, the cliffhanger though…woah! The cliffhangers in this series are seriously good!

Now that Finely truly understands her fate, she will stop at nothing to stand beside Carrick and take the forces of evil down. Finley is growing stronger every day and Carrick has finally come to terms with the fact that he never wants to let her go. No one is safe as they prepare for the fight of their lives!

"We've loved each other over and over again."
Told in dual POV, A Battle of Blood and Stone is another heart-stopping installment to this series. The characters are complex and the plot continues to build with multiple twists and turns! This series must be read in order as every single installment connects the character relationships and how they fit together. The passion between Finley and Carrick is non-stop and their relationship continues to transform as they wage war against the evil forces around them.
“Every time you walk into a room after being apart, it’s my soul that recognizes you.”
Overall, A Battle of Blood and Stone is another epic addition to this unstoppable series. I am completely in love with Carrick and Finley and I am dying to find out how this story will end. Let's hope we don't have to wait too long for the final installment to hit our kindles!

Please take in mind it’s my opinion, and everyone is allowed to have one.

A Battle Of Blood And Stone is the fourth book in the Chronicles Of The Stone Veil serie, where we are still following Finley and Carrick in their journey.

I was actually struggling to get through this, I wasn’t really feeling it. The romance was good, but I felt like I was missing more drama/ action.

The way Finley just developed her magic was so great, absolutely loved to see that. I like her character. Maddox is still one of my fave characters. Carrick is also a great character, love to see his powers.

Overall this one isn’t my fave, I really thought the ending was what made the book. Honestly didn’t see that one coming. Because of the ending I cant wait to see what’s going to happen in The Rise Of Fortune And Fury!

Trying to do an independent review of what amounts to only one-fifth of a saga is difficult, as each successive book just adds to the whole of this series. With every installment, this story gets better and better. The more we know about each of the characters, the more fascinating and complex they become, and I have a hard time viewing any of the characters in the same way I did when I first met them. There is so much more to each of them than it originally appeared, and they each add such depth to what is amounting to an epic story, spanning millennia.

In this penultimate book of the series, Carrick and Finley face their most dangerous tasks yet, knowing that their greatest challenge, having Finley battle the Queen of the Underworld, is still yet to come. I’ve been fascinated, trying to see who will remain loyal, who will betray the Scooby Gang, and what tricks the gods have up their sleeves to throw a wrench in the plans that are being made to save the world from ultimate destruction by the demons and dark fae.

This series really has it all. It has an epic quest, battles, magic, betrayal, loyalty. And at its core, it has a love that has spanned the ages, never waning or faltering, that has me swooning with adoration for Carrick and Finley, and those that have stood by their side.

Even those that don’t typically find paranormal romance to be their cup of tea need to give this series a try. It is escapism at its finest and an enduring romance at its best.

Wowza, just when I thought this crazy story couldn’t take more turns, guess what happened? Yep, more craziness and I am fully on board!

Finley and Carrick and the crew are getting closer to solving the prophecy riddle and life is becoming more and more dangerous for everyone involved. But none more than Finley! She’s the start and the end and there’s nothing that Kymaris won’t do to stop Finley from truly saving the world—even using those that are considered “friends” but are really her minions.

I couldn’t put down A Battle of Blood and Stone until I reached the very last page. And I don’t know if I’m ready for what I’m sure will be an epic conclusion to this terrific Chronicles of the Stone Veil series when The Rise of Fortune and Fury releases May 4th! ~ Missy, 5 stars

Be prepared to hit the ground running as this 4th installment in the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series will keep you on your toes. It is full steam ahead as Finley must learn to harness her powers if she has any hope of defeating Kymaris. A Battle of Blood and Stone is another suspenseful and fantastical read by this author. There is never a dull moment as the story moves at a relatively fast pace and is full of intrigue, action, adventure, and steam. The author continues to masterfully weave together story that ensnared my attention immediately and kept me enthralled until the very end. I really enjoyed how the soul connection between Carrick and Finely is further illustrated within these pages. I just love the cast of characters and the unique way each one adds to the story. The intensity is dialed up as things are coming to a head with Kymaris and her diabolical plans. Finely, Carrick, and their gang are engrossed in strategical planning and must embark on some adventures that will hopefully aid in their quest to stop Kymaris. While I was able to deduce some of the twists, I found myself shocked with a few of the revelations. Trust is challenged. Betrayals occur. And an epic battle lays ahead. I found this book to be a thrilling read and thoroughly enjoyed the action sequences, the romantic aspect, and the overall story. The character development and plot progression is well thought out and I am most curious to see how everything is going to play out.

I voluntarily read an early version of this novel. All thoughts and options are entirely my own.

4.5 stars— A BATTLE OF BLOOD AND STONE is the fourth instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary adult CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL paranormal/urban fantasy series focusing on twenty-eight year old Finley Porter, and Carrick Byrne. A BATTLE OF BLOOD AND STONE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book three THE EVOLUTION OF FAE AND GODS.

SOME BACKGROUND: All of her life Finley Porter has been treated for hallucinations but days before her twenty-eighth birthday Finley is pulled into a world of the Light and Dark Fae by a man who stirs something deep within our story line heroine. An end of the world prophecy declares our heroine the savior, and in this Finley struggles with her fated destiny. As the gods watch the prophecy play out, some take it upon themselves to interfere where they do not belong.

Told from first person perspective (Finley) and third person (Carrick) A BATTLE OF BLOOD AND STONE picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book three wherein Carrick remains missing, and Finley continues to prepare for her role and fated destiny. Struggling to remain under the protection of Demi-gods and daemons, Finley is desperate to locate the the ‘Blood Stone’ purported to give the user immortal powers but a desperation brought about in an effort to keep the stone out of the hands of the Dark Fae. As Finley and Carrick, Carrick’s brothers Maddox and Lucien, and daemons Boral and Zaid head to a magical island to retrieve the missing stone, lives are lost, and our intrepid ‘Scooby gang’ is no further ahead but falling farther behind.

Like the previous instalments, A BATTLE OF BLOOD AND STONE is a complex, detailed and riveting entry in Sawyer Bennett’s Chronicles of the Stone Veil. As the prophecy begins to take shape, Finley is desperate to reach into the Underworld, in an effort to make contact with someone from her past. Sawyer Bennett pulls the reader into an exciting and wonderful story line of revelations, betrayal and secrets, power and control that ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

WOW! That is all I can say about the ending. Battle lines have been drawn, the most unlikely of alliances are made, the betrayals are staggering, and there is still so much more to come. I cannot wait for The Rise of Fortune and Fury to be released in May!

This book picks up right where  The Evolution of Fae and Gods left off so please make sure you are reading this series in the order it has been released. There is soooooo much going on in this installment of the series some of it will shock you and some of it will have you fanning yourself.

While there is an epic love between the two main characters, Carrick and Finley, their love plays second fiddle to the war that is brewing around them. The Queen of the Underworld is looking to take over Earth and she needs to be stopped. Who has enough power to do that? Will Finley be able to save not only her fellow humans but can she save herself from the curse she is under? Will Carrick and Finley get the happy ending they truly deserve? Only time will tell.

If you enjoy Paranormal Romances I would definitely recommend this series to you.

Happy Reading!!!

The Battle of Blood and Stone packs battles, loss, great love, magic, monsters, and more all into this final book that leads up to the final doomsday battle where the end of the world battle rests upon Finley's shoulders. Can a mere mortal win against the queen of the underworld? These are her last moments to prepare will there ever be enough time?

Working with her nemesis, the Scooby Gang (her mortal friends), her immortal friends, and the love of her life-Carrick, Finley is running out of time as Kymaris is gaining strength before the new moon and the prophecy comes to fruition.

The gang is searching for an ancient relic, the Blood Stone, a relic that they hope has the power to help in their fight. Everyone is focused on getting the stone, but will it be enough to defeat what's coming? There are so many questions left to answer before we get to the final book, but I'm excited to finish this series and answer all of my questions.

Finley works on her recently discovered powers while spending every moment she can with Carrick. Since she discovered she is his reincarnated love she's dealing with those feelings along with everything else that's landed upon her shoulders. I have to say this part of the story, where they reconnect as lovers and soulmates is so bittersweet. The change in Carrick from book one is beautiful as well as Finley, she's more grounded and focused. I love how these two are so closely connected and complete each other in a deep level. How they end up and where their love story goes next is certainly what I'm anticipating the most, but of course how they save the world is a very close second.

The fourth book in this amazing series is gaining momentum and we are down to only one left. Finley and all of her friends are reaching the end. I'm excited to see how it all plays out.

Alright now..... I feel like every book has been leading us forward to a huge battle. We learn a little more and uncover more secrets with each book. This book is the next to last and boy does the author throw the punches with this one!

You do need to read these books in order so if you haven't read 1-3...STOP....go back to book 1 and start there.

Finley and Carrick continue to search for clues about the fated end of the world. They pull together their rag tag army of immortals and mortal friends and try to sleuth out what will be needed in order for Finley to defeat Kymaris.

Maybe my favorite of the series so far. We get more travel within the paranormal realms. We get action and suspense. We watch Finley and Carrick fall more in love. We get a bit of humor along with growing friendships. And lastly, we get some HUGE twisty turns! I did not see those coming! Major cliffie with this book--more so than the last 3.

Love, love, love Carrick now that he has let his guard down around Finley. What a love story! I need the final book ASAP! Epic paranormal journey this author has taken us on. I will be sad to leave Seattle and this group of companions.

We are getting so close to the final book and you don’t want to miss this one. Lines are being drawn and betrayals are going deep. There is action with underlying romance and I love the balance the author was able to take. And the ending! If you’re reading this book you know that Sawyer Bennett does not kid around with her endings to get people to come back for more. You don’t want to miss this book before the epic showdown.

Cliffhangers usually irritates but I don’t know why I don’t mind it at all with this series.
Can I say that I am excited about them? Damn right!!!

I couldn’t put it down. Finley, Carrick and their friends were more united than ever, teamed up to help Finley with this prophecy.
Danger and chaos are coming their way and they definitely can feel it.

This fourth installment kept me on my toes, this combination of action, suspense and romance totally worked. Finley and Carrick made me swoon so hard it hurts. A love that defies time and space, transcendent, so beautifully transcribed. I appreciated to see how deep their connection was, sharing without holding back any fears, honesty, challenging and caring. Just couple goals.

I was totally hooked from the start. The author managed to pull me in gradually and transported me into a fantastic world about gods, faes, demons and magic as much frightening as enchanting.

In their quest that felt like a race against time, Finley had to push her limits if she wanted to win against the evil forces coming their way. A weight on her shoulders she accepted, a fate she embraced but raising so many questions about its significance and her future with Carrick.

Each installment gradually steps to another level, adding new pieces to this puzzle when your friends can be your enemies and vice versa, giving more depth to the characters.

That is not the kind of story to stagnate, it is constantly evolving as the author introduces subtlety new aspects and information, making me crave for more. I loved how each ending has its mind-blowing effect.
Next book, please!!!!

Review by Trinette Dungee

Initially thought to be myth, the Blood Stone is very much real. The mission now? Find the Blood Stone.

Book four hits the ground running and doesn’t stop until the end, and even then, leaves us wanting more. It’s been two weeks since the God Rune, snatched Carrick away from Finley. Learning that she is Carrick’s reincarnated love who is continuously snatched from his lifetime after time over centuries due to a curse Rune placed upon him has her reeling, and there was no chance for her to ask questions before Carrick was taken. Although she’s worried for and misses Carrick terribly, the prophecy will still occur, and there’s still much work to be done so Finley continues to team with Maddox, Zaid, Rainey and Myles to learn all they can about Kymaris’ plans. The “Scooby-Gang”, has also been working with Zaid’s father, Boral (who everyone is skeptical of, but he could prove to be very helpful).

Once Carrick returns, he gives Finley the background on her former lives and what happened between the two of them. Finley and Carrick aren’t the only two who has developments in relationships. With Carrick missing, Finley and Zaid’s relationship also grows, and we see a different side of Zaid as well. I’ve like Zaid from the beginning, but this book really gave my heart a soft spot for him. His commitment and dedication to Finley was no longer due to his loyalty to Carrick. Finley has become family to him.

As the time grows closer for Kymaris’ ritual to take place, Carrick realizes they really need to kick into high gear to make sure Finley is as prepared as she can be. While she’s been training tirelessly, she still needs more, so Carrick enlists the one person no one expects, Deandra who proves to be more helpful than Finley thought.

There’s also Finley’s determination to connect with her sister, Zora, in the underground which she does manage to do again, but Zora is very resistant to Finley and wants nothing to do with her.

We also get a glimpse of Lucien’s past which is directly related to the Blood Stone needed to help defeat Kymaris. The group obtains the Blood Stone at a costly price, and then goes to drastic measures to slow Kymaris down which means they must all separate and basically go into hiding to stay safe. While in hiding, Finley learns that while her team has formed unlikely alliances, so has Kymaris. Unfortunately for Finley, she learns of this alliance a little too late and can only hope that Carrick can come to her rescue.

With each book, this story truly gets better and better, and leads to more and more questions. I’m curious about Finley’s past lives, was she a twin in each life? If not, was it intentional that she was a twin in this life? So many other backgrounds were given, does this mean there might be novellas or spin off series? Especially for Lucien. Will Ronan and Eilana show up in the fourth book? Will there be more to their story? What more will we learn about Zora; will she have a story of her own?

I’m almost sad the last book is coming up because I don’t want it to end. I mentioned before about previous books not focusing so much on the relationship of Carrick and Finley and how it didn’t bother me, but I’m so glad it finally came to light. The evolution and the buildup of Finley and Carrick’s love is beautifully told and written.

This book/series is phenomenal!!! This series just keeps getting better and better!! Sawyer Bennett, I cannot read and turn the pages fast enough. I need to find out what is going to happen!!
I have to say my heart has been in my throat so many times is this book/series. My heart just breaks for so many of the characters, lead and not so lead as well.
I am absolutely LOVING watching Finley and Carrick come closer and closer. The friendship between Zaid and Finley. I love the way that Finley CAN see the good in people, even in ones that nobody else does. Unfortunately, she/they do not see the bad in some as well. However, that is all I will say about that. I know I was screaming “NO!!!” at my Kindle when I when I read this part.
Ladies, yes you! You really, really need to read this series from the very beginning. This is coming from someone that totally hates cliffies, but what can I say? I love Sawyer Bennett’s books/writing. She’s phenomenal at what she does. Blowing your mind in her books! And this book is no different.

A Battle of Blood and Stone is the 4rth book in the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series by Sawyer Bennett. There is a fifth and final book coming which will end Finley’s story. The books must be read in order.

More than ever, I felt like the series should have been shorter. There were things happening to our characters and yet I was feeling like the story was progressing very slowly. I found myself thinking that the book was dragging and when I went back to reading, a lot of stuff were going on and many characters’ plotlines were advancing or coming to an end. People died. More questions were answered. More questions were created.

The ending is the best cliffhanger the series had. There was a big reveal that explained some of the things that happened and it made me start questioning everything. I wonder how the final book will begin and how/if will Finley defeat the bad guys. I hope that the author will give closure to all the secondary characters and dare I hope for a book about Maddox?

Now that the cat is out of the box, there is one thing I want to say. Finley and Garrick’s relationship reminds me of Luce and Daniel’s from Fallen. It’s a good thing since I loved that series. I can’t help myself but wonder if their ending is going to be similar or if Sawyer Bennett is going to choose another path. I am not sure what to hope for, besides a happy ending for them in any form.

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! Book 4 in this 5 book series (yes, only one more to go folks), has left me reeling! We have more from the Gods, the Demi-Gods, the Dark Fae, the Light Fae, the demons, the (dare I say it), monsters! Finley is really being tested, her limits have been pushed, she wants to end this prophecy, but is she ready for the confrontation? We know it’s going to happen, and Carrick has a few aces up his sleeve to help her. She won’t like it, but what other alternative does she have? More action, more adventures, journeys into new, more dangerous realms, and a twist that I never saw coming (and just so you know, I nearly always see plot twists). The story is getting more intense, the characters are getting more adventurous, and the pressure’s on. I’m dying for the grand finale, but equally I don’t want the story to end. I have no idea how, or even if, Finley and Carrick will defeat evil and have a shot at a future together. I have no clue if the world as we know it will be destroyed or if Kymaris will succeed with her diabolical plan, but do you know what? I’m enjoying this rollercoaster of a ride so much. Heart in mouth tension, the anticipation is killing me. So so good.

A Battle of Blood and Stone (Chronicles of the stone veil #4) by Sawyer Bennett
4 stars
M/F Paranormal romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

We begin where book #3 left off. You for sure will want to read these books in order, otherwise they won’t make sense.

Kymaris is still hunting for the stone and still as terrible as ever. You get to see a little more of her in this story, but she’s still very much a mystery. And, while you see more of what is driving her, we still don’t get a very good sense of her.

Carrick is still broody, but once you understand him, the broodiness makes so much more sense. He has had an incredibly long, hard existence. I did like how he wanted to trust a little more, love harder and you were able to see him really get into hunting of the prophecy’s conclusion.

Finally, you have Finley who is still wanting to free her sister, figure out her role in the prophecy and love Carrick as much as she can.

I enjoyed this story but it wasn’t as full of the action. instead, it was more drawn out than the previous books. While I can understand needing some of the information, this book felt more drawn out and maybe could’ve been mixed in with book 3, so that book 4 was the conclusion. However, I say that without having read the conclusion yet, so maybe I’ll change my mind once I have.

A Battle of Blood and Stone is Book 4 in the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and must be read in order. Yup..this one ends in a cliffy!

This book is all about Finley learning more about her powers and getting a deeper, stronger connection with Carrick. We also get a few more bits and pieces of the enigmatic Carrick's past. But the one twist that just screwed with my brain (and my heart) happens at the end! Gah!

I'll admit, this one wasn't my favorite so far because I felt like a lot of the story was more of a "filler." But there were a few scenes that got to me...may have made me shed a tear or two. (Sniff, sniff) Then I got hit with that sledgehammer of an ending and I'm all abuzz waiting for the final installment! Is Finley's fate sealed? Will she be strong enough to defeat the evil Queen of the Underworld, Kymaris? Will Finley be able to save her twin? And what about Carrick? Is their love doomed? Eeek...so many questions!

Told from dual POVs with a WTF ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

A Battle of Blood and Stone🩸

A Battle of Blood and Stone is the fourth book in this amazing series and is truly spectacular in its concepts which initially I found quite complex, but the more I read the more enthralled I am with this world and also it’s characters❣️

This story morphed into something I wasn’t expecting but I do have to say that there have been some unexpected twists along the way, and finally some answers are headed our way in this one🤩 I’m keen to see how this Battle ends and who is victorious🥊

I absolutely love this series by Sawyer. She is giving us so many layers with twist and turns that you don’t see coming.

And Carrick and Finley are extraordinary!!! Talk about a love story of all time!!! Have mercy.

This is one series you’ll start and not want to stop.

Definitely one of my absolute favorites by Sawyer Bennett.

More twists, more turns, more Carrick...it’s so freaking good! I guessed a twist or two, but was blindsided completely by another. I just love the Scooby group even more, and I tolerated Deandra in this one. If you haven’t started the series yet, what are you waiting for?

In the latest installment of Chronicles of the Stone Veil we continue in watching Finley grow. Finley has found herself keeping her head above water as she hoans her skills and tries to figure out how to free her sister. This book has everything you could hope for. We still get the suspense, we get the comedic relief at times, and we get to see Finley and Carrick together!!! There are questions that still need answered along with twists and turns that will leave you begging for more.
Yes this review is short sweet and to the point. Now I am patiently waiting for the next book, because I need to know just how everything plays out!!

This is book 4 in the series and cannot be read on a S/A basis. To enjoy and follow this book, you will need to read books 1-3 in order.

Once again this book picks straight up from where the last book finished and I was sucked right back into this story. I really have enjoyed these books and this was another great read. I love the connection and relationship between Carrick and Finley who are main H/h but more than this I love how the supporting characters are just as richly developed and I am as invested in them as I am the main duo. As we approach the end of this saga, this book amped up the drama and suspense and ended with one almighty twist. I cannot wait for the final book to find out how everything will pan out.

5 STARS

This series is just utter perfection. I never thought I'd get hooked so much. That betrayal came out of nowhere to be honest. I doubted everyone except that one. This book is action packed and filled with tragic back stories. It was too short for my liking. Can't wait for the next book. 🖤
