What ties a future US President, $350 million dollars in stolen Nazi gold bullion, and Vatican Bank accounts that contain very large sums of money stolen during World War II?
In this fast-paced Thriller, Jim Dieter (retired Navy SEAL), his wife, Nora (investigative journalist), and his best friend, Dan Flaherty (ex-IRA) are about to find out as they battle to find - The Vatican's Deadly Secret.
This novel is a follow-on to the Amazon best-selling The Vatican's Last Secret (James Dieter Book 1).
Amazon best-selling author Francis Joseph Smith has traveled to most of the world during his tenure in the Armed Forces (Navy & Air Force) and as an Analyst for an unnamed Government Agency, providing him with numerous fictional plot lines and settings for future use. His experiences provide readers with well researched, fast-paced action. Smith's novels are the result of years of preparation to become a fiction writer in the genre of Clancy, Griffin, Higgins, and Cussler.
Smith lives with his family in a small town outside Philadelphia.
Interesting premise but the proofreader fell down on his / her job. There were at lease 138 grammatical errors making it difficult to read. It shouldn't be that hard to distinguish between then and than and how to use an apostrophe. These errors should be fixed and the book would jump to 4 stars.
Although I felt the story was a bit contrived, I did like the three main characters. I was often taken aback, however, by the poor editing. There was an unusual amount of grammar and spelling errors which led to my rereading sentences to try and grasp the meaning. I really think these mistakes should be corrected!
The terrible editing drove me crazy! Poor spelling, improper grammar, zero apostrophes all caused me to stop reading - multiple times on each page. Only finished reading this one because it was a decent story. Won't ready anything else by this author.
Book 2 was much better than book1! A nice surprise. Storyline held my interest.more character development in this book. Still lots of annoying typos and grammar that should have been caught by the editors. Just a personal annoyance. Doesn't hold the story back.
Twists and turns keep you riveted on this page turner. Enjoyed the characters and learning more about them through this adventure. Looking forward to book 3
Again a very good read with a great flow and fine combining of history and storytelling. Just next time, please get a better proofreader. The spelling mistakes and many typos are challenging.
I like Smith's stories but, as a former language teacher I wish the e-book version could meet with eye of an editor for spelling and grammar errors before they are sold to unsuspecting customers.
An OK book with some known history of the War and our visit to the Vatacin. For me the book kept running of track and also failed to complete the detail of some actions.
Good story. A bit hard to follow with all the changes in time and locations. Many punctuation errors especially in the possessive both singular and plural.
