Tammy is offered a place in a play, playing a female lead. Unfortunately her name is Tom and she's a sixth former in a private boys school in the Highlands of Scotland. This is a tale of metamorphosis but Tammy finds she has some good friends to help her through the rough times.
This series is well written and gets better as the series advances. My one complaint and it really is just more of observation is the amount of showers throughout the series one individual can take in any 12 to 24 hour period. I live in Florida where I'm active outdoors in the Florida heat and humidity daily and only require a small fraction of cleansing that the main protagonists do in the winter of the Scottish Highlands.
There were some minor inconsistencies with "Beginnings", but the addition of Tim/Angela created some interesting dynamics. There was drama as well as some lighthearted coming out scenes. This was a great story, and I look forward to reading the next installment.
Tammy having had to ‘act’ as a boy for most of her life can now be herself. The ability to act comes in handy as she lands a part in West Side Story. On the way she helps another, like herself, to find herself. Tammy is only able to do this through the love of her family and friends.
Tamara’s Debut was an enjoyable continuation of the story. Tammy deals with a number of complications and threats, makes new friends, and discovers she is not the only transgender person in the area.
Very nice. Conversations were a bit stilted? Abrupt? Short? Not sure how to describe them, however, they didn’t jar you out of the story and it was engaging. Had a hard time putting it down. I really did enjoy it.
Not being a first-time reader of transgender fiction I really enjoyed the author take on the subject. I found the action and suspense wel distributed true out the book. The main character can be bosy at times but doesn't distract from the story. If you like books with some excitement this is for you
