Well well well, this tongue-in-cheek quasi-serious look the nature of super heroism gets somewhat real in this volume that focuses on the heroes fightback and first assault on the Monster Association. What makes an S level hero? Well the creators do a great job albeit the plotting much more so than the art, on showing just how dangerous and lethal the top echelon of super heroes are! A tidy 7.5 out of 12 firm Three Star read.

EN I absolutely love "One Punch Man" and genuinely think it's one of the most underrated manga out there.

Yusuke Murata's artwork is exceptional—sharp, dynamic, and far superior to that of many popular series.

The creative synergy between the two authors is phenomenal, resulting in a story packed with depth and humor. The series also boasts an incredible cast of charismatic characters, each adding their own unique flair.

It's one of the rare series I dive into immediately whenever a new volume is released.

If you're a fan of "Dragon Ball", there's no reason you wouldn't love this masterpiece!

I'm loving the conspiracy build-up, but what really steals the show in the volume are all the S-Level heroes mixing it up with the lows. So cute!

And it's just a city completely overrun with monsters! A trap before the Monster Association!

So silly, these storylines, but damn if they aren't funny as hell, too. I can't tell what I like more from this... the humor or the artwork. The art is SO serious for EVERY character except for Saitama. And Saitama is so FAR out of everyone's measurable scale that it's absurd. Hence the art choice. :)

Still so damn delicious.

It's all the S-Ranked heroes kicking the biggest, baddest monsters from here on out. It's a slaughter-fest.

Flashy-Flash gets some time, as does Atomic Samurai and kids, but we all know the best battles are to come. And no, I'm not referring to Puri-Puri-Prisoner. *shiver* Tho, he is good for a laugh.

Deep underground labyrinth, demon and dragon-level monsters, and that weird sinking sensation that senseless Saitama might blunder his way to the Big Boss on complete accident. I can feel it.

It's still pretty much a build-up volume, but for the sake of the good sense of humor, the story is still going strong. For example, it's pretty humorous to see the Level-S superheroes arguing among themselves like kids.

On Volume 20 now in the series and it is still good. Features terrific fighting action art, hilarious monsters (e.g., Showerhead Man, Green Onion Man) and heroes (e.g., Smile Man, Tubby Man), but also more character development, and a much longer plot line. The pace has slowed way down; the load of violent action is made lighter by sudden story twists and hilarious side scenes. And overall the work continues to raise philosophical questions including what it means to be heroic, and what it means to be human.

For example, a character who hates heroes and is constantly fighting against them (because he was bullied by some kids playing heroes when he was a child), ends up befriending a boy who he sees being bullied, and fighting monsters to save him.

For example, when human society is threatened by monsters, some of the humans start campaigning in support of a takeover by the monsters, in the hope that they alone will benefit from a monster-controlled society.

The endemic factionalism continues within the Hero Association, but lots of heroics and funny misunderstandings as well.

Oh no! One Punch Man is missing!!!
This volume is just the beginning of the actual war and assault of the Hero Association upon the Monsters. But at this point, even if the fights look epic, we are still at the cannon fodder level on both sides. Just 4.5 stars.

After some relatively normal chapters (I'm talking about the martial arts tournament arc), One Punch Man is finally back on track as the attack on the monster association is underway. ONE has managed to keep his readers' attention with Saitama being made scarce.

It is good that these class B and some other non-S class heroes are being given their time to shine. They are not as formidable as the class S ones, but certainly pack a punch and are never just pushovers.

I liked how this volume introduced us to some of the lower level support heroes and hopefully they don’t all die immediately!

More the calm before the storm. No sign of Saitama, King getting a crew/the new blizzard squad. Amai mask having the strongest presence. This was a demonstration of the A and B heroes, with some strange powers. It was interesting, but as things go, someone more powerful needs to step up. I laughed when the monster threatened Tornado's sister. TSTL. It was a fun volume. I felt sorry for the guy with the eye.

The Zombie guy is so cool. Sad that Saitama wasn’t a part of this one, but it was cool to see the creativity involved with some of the other heroes and what they can do 👍👍

This volume ends better than it starts, but it's only getting 3 stars because it takes a very long time to actually do anything. We get more build up to a giant battle where the heroes are supposed to be taking the fight to the monsters in their lair. That would have been fine, but we spend too much time at the Hero Association building with bickering and drama before anyone actually sets out. When they do decide to hit the road and the confrontation begins it hits it's stride and it's the OPM that I wanted.

King is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters both for the humor and tension he can bring. Blizzard and Tornado both show up in their tried and true form, which isn't to say it's boring to see either of them, but their is some predictability to what their story parts will be. -Surprisingly little Saitama in this volume fwiw.

Not the worst entry in the series, but plot wise it's not doing much and I was frustrated by that.

One of the most action-packed volumes in the series and it features some of the fastest heroes alive. This is a story arc that is entirely dedicated to epic scale action sequences with stunning artwork. The chaos that follows this confrontation is incredible and unbelievable.

The volume ends with a prologue to the next upcoming battle: kid versus bird. A battle that is sure to necessitate incredible perseverance--and gadgets.

The Heroes finally make an assault on City Z, so there's a lot of fight scenes. Saitama isn't in this volume, as it focuses mainly on the B & C-class heroes acting as support. There isn't much plot of characters, but there's a plethora of different heroes using their gimmicks to fight monsters and it's varied enough to not be dull. The art is good, two, with several impressive double page spreads.

Flashy Flash is gorgeous~!!!!

So the two person who tried to recruit Sonic is now attacking Flashy Flash. Hmmmm. I don't like those two at all. So airheaded. They are monster but still seem equal to Flashy Flash. They aren't even as handsome. (roll eyes)

Woah.... Flashy Flash is so flashyly strong and handsome!!! He is cool, too!!!

But I'm looking for Saitama. Where is he though.... Don't tell me he got lost!! LOL. He might face Orochi which is great.

What an intense fight! Flashy isn't just Flashy for name! He is real!!! (gasp)

LOLL WHAT A BURN CONVO:
Demon: Your Goal was to damage my weapon all along!!
Flashy: Too Slow. What is the point of all the speed if your brain can't keep up.
LLOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOOOMMMMMMMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! FLASHY DEFEATED THEM!! WHAT THE HECK. HE IS SOO COOOLLL. And so handsome. But I'm still team Saitama no matter what!

But Oh boy his device is gone... Tsk Tsk...

No Saitama at all. And no Garo. This volume holds its own very well. The A big fight has started, and we get to see lots of new heroes in action. The art is really nice to look at here as well.

Just like Monster Association, Hero Association has no sync when it comes to battle. Such a shame! They could've accomplished great feats with proper teamwork. 🤦

I was too deep into Chapter 96 before I realized I hadn't been listing the fighters in the volume so far. "Luckily" nothing really happens in Chapter 95....

Anyway, this is mostly a showcase of lesser-class heroes. And Murata has invented Mizuki to goon to, since I guess maybe he got bored with Fubuki. It's somewhat easy to see why this arc will be so fucking long, if Murata keeps throwing no-name heroes in to fight mobs between major battles with Class-S heroes, Saitama, or Garou.
