Wow, I've never found a mc that has such f'in high EQ that he kills the novel. Like omg, the author puts so much effort in making the mc mysterious that when his plans are revealed its just info dump.

So. Much. Info dump.

Also mc's plan are always flawless, everything is within his expectations, because of his high EQ. It goes so well that even when all the arcs have abuse (which is excused bc the mc likes it(?) the mc feels like a Mary Sue.

Aside from the fact that all the arcs are the same characters and the same plot in a different setting, this issue becomes glaring in the last arc, the only one that isn't repetitive a f. The author info dumps the f out of the mc and the ml, explaining everything SEVERAL times as if the reader is stupid. In fact, even the message of the novel related to love and relationships is so dumbed down for the reader, and repeated SO MANY TIMES PER CHAPTER that I really started doubting if the author thought the mc's EQ was so high that nobody could ever really understand his thought process or that the message was so revolutionary that nobody would get it the first time.

News flash, it wasn't.

Also the extras from the ml's pov are almost word for word everything he explained in his inner monologe while we were wasting time with the last boss that took like 10 CHAPTERS to defeat: miscomunication. Yes, I also want to throw myself of a bridge.

Overall if you read the first arc, skim through the last arc and read the last extra, you would have read the entire novel. You can also read a few of the other arcs if you are into the setting, but it will be the same white lotus x abusive bad boy that hurts the mc and then regrets it.

Just a disappointment.

I absolutely hate, hate, hate unnecessarily sad stories, which is why I was wary about this story at first. The tragedy tag and negative reviews made me very cautious about reading this novel. However, I was on a QT kick and rediscovered this story and decided to give it a try - I'm so glad I did!

The stories in this novel have lots of non-con/dub-con, but unlike other novels, it's very clear that the non-con elements are all an act. Not only is there the fact this is happening in a fictional novel and not reality, but the person really is only putting on an act. The translators are also very clear in explaining the distinction between this in fiction/entertainment vs in real life.

The scenarios in these arcs were so unique for a QT novel, I found myself really enjoying each story. My only worry while reading was that the story as a whole might be as tragic as the arcs, but I found the ending surprisingly thoughtful and philosophical. I love how the author wrapped up the loose ends and explained the main couple (there is only one gong throughout the whole story). I love the happy ending. And I love how strong both the shou and the gong are - their strengths are different and complimentary. I love how both are not resigned to the fates assigned to them and learn to defy fate in their own ways (one through brute force and one through strict control of their own emotions). The mutual trust that develops, and mutual respect for the other to make their own decisions, is really sweet to see.

After finishing the novel, I had to take a deep breath. There was so much angst to reevaluate, so many stories to digest, and so much to think about regarding what it means to love.

BEWARE of SPOILER

Please take this with a grain of salt because I basically MTL the book. It's not completely translated yet.

Basically, ML was a middle-tier host. He decided to go on vacation and enter a low-tier arc just for the fun of it. This was where ML met Xie He (MC). Xie He was heartbroken when ML left him and it triggered the arc to go on with 99 other host. By the time Xie He rejected those 99 host, his heart was already set to stone. He will only love himself.

Xie He was then bounded to a system. His mission was as per title. The moment the ML's affection towards Xie He reached 100, then he could end that arc whichever way he like. Each arc had the same formula, which by the end of the 3rd arc, it got boring way too soon. And also the reason I skimmed most of it before dropping it altogether.

We then found out that ML truly love Xie He. After he left Xie He's arc, he work hard to reach the top-tier host in hope he could enter Xie He's arc again and change that arc to HE. But, he found out that Xie He has change so much, even the system just wanted to end that arc. And so he made a deal with the system so that Xie He could be a host with his own mission. ML of course gladly took the scum gong part in each arc.

In the first 3 arc, ML remember everything. The system found out about it and decided to erase his memory starting arc 4. But, every time the arc ended, his memory will return and his guilt toward MC multiply tenfold.

I'm going to give this book another chance once the translation completed.

People weren’t lying about how angsty this book is, I honestly feel like I need to go to therapy after this. Gave it a three stars because some arcs were interesting than the others.

This is my first ever quick transmission novels everr! And I loved every last bit of it, though it troubled me soo much. I give it a 5 star because if a book can make you read over 3000 pages of content without boring you then it has to be something.

I reallly loved the book even though it had flaws, I loved it so much I chose to ignore them. 444 You are my favorite character, just too sweet for this world.

I internally screamed when 444 was uninstalled, but it was made up for us when he was revived and got a black cat nerdy boyfriend 666. The mc's and ml's system falling for each other even though they were AI was one of the best parts of the book.

I recommend this if you love sad tragic short novels, but with a happy ending at the very end. A small tip: Do not read the author's note at the end of 200 chapter onwards [eng trans] it is kinda spoiling the best moments in the novel. Do not read any spoilers for the best read and I have given minor spoilers, until now. These lines were the best but also major spoilers so beware.

Xie He broke the kiss and slowly began to speak with a low, hoarse voice.
“You can’t hear my Favourability Value notifications anymore, can you?”
Lu Ting nodded. Xie He was no longer a capture target.
Xie He smiled and suddenly pasted his lips onto Lu Ting’s ears. There was
a faint smile in his voice. “Then let me tell you…
“Ding, the target Xie He’s Favourability Value +1. The current
Favourability Value is 100.”

In this world, there was a certain person, for whom he had walked through
mountains of daggers and seas of fire, and lived through many lives.

Overall I will give it 5/5 for making me read a book that is over 3000 pages long, for 444 and his vixen master and Lu Ting and all his forms. My favorite arc was the 4th were the dear Zhen is captured. The drama was maxed out and SO MUCH ANGST.

To quote one of my favorite vines, "I feel like this book shoved a fist up my ass and took som thing that can never be recovered."

Best parts were the author's notes at the end, followed by the translator(s)'s notes, which often seemed to be having a conversation. We all suffered together. We were all sad and ugly crying.

The characters are getting abused. The translators are getting abused. The readers are getting abused.

The only person not crying is probably Xie He.

I think Xie He represents the author and 444 freaking out and crying at every turn is representative of the readers QAQ

Quite a long QT read. As per some reviewers, some arcs were written well while some were not that good. To explain, the main premise of the novel is angst, dogblood and more angst. However, I felt that only certain arcs fulfilled the angst criteria. I didn't have any feels for some arcs.

MC is pretty cunning and black-bellied. Most of the arcs were quite interesting although the arcs (though not short) seem to be abit under-built as compared to the top QT novels.

I really didn't enjoy the Finale arc. Not because that it was full of fluff, but because it had so much far-fetched explanations that didn't seem like it was forewarned. Like where are the clues in the main story? Where was it written that MC had an inkling that all the capture target was ML? I really couldn't find any hints of it while I was reading. I felt that even author also didn't explain it well because the author's note was used to supplement the main story. Don't get me wrong, I liked reading the author's note but the moment it is used to explain almost every chapter in the finale arc because of many readers' misunderstanding... I think that the novel was not written well.

however, with all that said. It was still an enjoyable read, even though there was a lack of smut. Man I think I would have enjoyed this novel so much more.

Rating: 4/5 - I went in with zero expectations and was actually in for a pleasant, angsty surprise.

So I am new to the QT/ World-hopping genres and my first entrance into it was “The Perfect Destiny” which I didn’t really enjoy as much as I’d wanted to. That being said, I didn’t go into this book with much expectation and simply started it as a casual read to fill my tragedy and angst needs. (I am a masochist- I know) I was in fact really happy with this novel.

The first arc is what gets to a lot of readers and it’s actually one of the poorer plots in all 12 arcs. The remaining arcs are actually quite interesting and the angst is really well played out. I found myself tearing up for quite a few. If you can get through the first arc you may actually really enjoy this if you want pure dog blood tragedy because that’s the purpose of this book: To make you suffer.

It’s a read that you don’t have to do in one go (unlike me, I usually just gobble up novels in one go and this one was no different). You can pace yourself with this book and enjoy each arc for its own nuances. It’s easy for many repetitive plot points to resurface in QT novels but this story makes it quite bearable and I didn’t hate it all that much in the context of the arcs. Some of the arcs were really dark and disturbing although there are clear TWs throughout the book so you can skip through any really heavily themed ones.

The highlight is probably the last arc and how the story is tied together. The pairing is truly realistic and flawed and the HE makes all the pain you feel throughout the novel worth it. I liked the very human last arc and probably (in my personal opinion) the most painful.

Even though it feels like you’re just reading short angsty stories throughout, the last arc really puts everything into perspective and answers a lot of the plot holes and questions.

The novel is definitely flawed, and you can see this in the first arc and where the author was going through writer’s block or exhaustion. But even with these flaws I really enjoyed this author’s work and look forward to her other works. It was a refreshing experience for me and i loved the systems, 666 and the baby 444. They were the gems in this story.

I think overall it’s a definite must read for tragedy lovers and it’s definitely a novel that’s allowed me to get more into the QT genre.

Wow..baca cerita ini berasa jd masokis yg suka nyiksa diri sendiri. Angs nya kebangetan, rasanya hati kayak diremes2. Gloomy banget. Buku ini nggak jauh2 dari tema tentang drugs, bunuh diri, penculikan, penyiksaan, dkk. Tapi kalau kuat baca cerita yg angs nya kebangetan, buku ini worth it banget. MC adalah salah satu boss dari second world didalam system. Tiap dunia punya aturan sendiri2. Setiap host/player yg berpartisipasi dalam game harus menyelesaikan tantangan. Tantangannya sendiri bermacam2. Kebetulan MC merupakan boss dalam love capture game. MC berhasil menolak 100 host secara berturut-turut dan membuat system jadi kewalahan yg akhirnya meminta MC untuk ikut berpartisipasi menjadi host didalam love capture game. Kebayangkan gimana MC yg sukses memanipulasi 100 host menyusun rencana untuk menangkap perhatian boss di setiap arc. Aku suka sama karakter MC, pintar, logis, schemmingnya luar biasa, aktingnya top kebangetan. Ditiap arc jadi berasa pengen nangis sama nasib karakter yg diperankan sama MC. MC disini mengingatkan aku sama MC di buku Perfect Destiny yg pintar berakting, diluar keliatannya nangis2 tersiksa padahal didalamnya santai banget. Aku juga suka sama system yg polos dan lugu banget. Nggak seperti di buku lain yg MC dan system nya sering berantem, dll. Dibuku ini MC ngemanjain system, suka deh tiap MC manggil baby ke system.

This is a TRUE MASTERPIECE.

I’m totally in love with this worlds, with the systems and the main couple. It was always interesting with so much different emotions and plot twists.

This novel is nothing like any other that you can find. You will love from the start or drop it with hate, as I think. This is just sooooooo different and opposite all the times.

I love the pace and how the plot going. I also love the ending. It was really fulfilling.

And I’m really happy that we have only one ML here. I was a little bit concerned about this while reading.
It’s difficult to describe more about the novel and to not spoil to much, so I would rather not. I genuinely recommend you give this novel a try.

I will really reread this again. It’s just too much of masterpiece to read it only ones. This is my most beloved novel ever.

Over all I liked it but I have a love hate relationship with this. I enjoyed most mini world, the premise was fun, and the story rather catching… but why do I hate it so much you ask? Because this book has over 4 tausend pages and at least 3 tausend of those where non crucial to the plot. Those 3 thousand only existed to satisfy the authors hidden desires. Like I normally don’t mind non/dub-con but after the 10 time I was sure the author had an obsession with it.
I recommend just skipping the middle part it’s fun yeah but like there is better angsty and dubious fiction out there.

PS: the MC is SMART so smart the author didn’t even bother to explain his thought process. Like he just randomly starts info dumbing you.
