I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.

I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.

Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.

Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.

Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.

“Mr. Heartbreaker” is a standalone novel by the best selling author Jordan Marie. This book is a part of the “Black Mountain Academy Books” and can be read as a standalone. Told in dual perspectives , get ready to meet Violet and Mike!

Violet is the new student at school. She has not had an easy life and does not even have a family . The only thing she knows is survival and her only aim is to graduate from Black Mountain and not to be known as a girl from the slums. That is until she meets the infamous Big Mike. Mike is a popular Baseball player and that is not the only bat he knows how to swing. The first time they both meet is when he is making use of the said “Bat”. Things become awkward and Violet runs away. But that is not so easy now. The girl with blond hair who doesn’t care enough to be near him , Intrigues mike. He knows he is going to have to charm or use other ways. The only thing that was clear was that Violet was going to be his.

From that moment , a game of cat and mouse begins. Mike wants to chase her and the last things Violet wants is a boy distracting her. Not even one as hot as Mike. That does not mean he is giving her a choice. Soon things turn complicated and now both of them have to make some choices. Not to mention the enemies they have who are hell bent on keeping them both apart.

The book was a short read for me , but it was phenomenal! It was wonderfully written and the emotions this book evoked in me were awesome at a pretty high level! A definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers out there! If you dig themes like High School contemporary romance with a tinge of bullying and suspense in it , then don’t hesitate to one click this one!

This was much more sweet than I thought it would be. Not really dark, imo.
Mike was once a heartbreaker, but then turned into a softy all for the love of the new girl. He had to have her, from the moment he saw her. Boy did she see him too... What a way to start your first day?!

There was a bit of a push and pull, but overall it was pretty much insta love, especially for big 'ol Mikey. A little more convincing was needed to get Violet on board. Once that happened it was pretty smooth sailing from there.

This is only the 2nd book I've read in this series. I might try some more out.

I have read few Jordan books with Jenika so I wanted to give this one a shot. Some steam and enemies to lovers trope. one thing I disliked but beside that it was a enjoyable read.

Now my rating would have been higher if I didn't read Mike getting a BJ from someone and Violet walking in and getting turned on about the view. Im kinda tired of that it.
Kinda glad he opened his douche mouth and Violet flipped him off and left. Bless that was the only scene. So if you want skip chapter one lol.

I enjoyed Violet she was sassy and independent and always checked Mike, her banter was good she had a rough life growing up and shes making sure shes on top of her game.. Even if she has to work as a stripper to get though life.. As for Mike.. it took me awhile to like him kinda glad we didn't see more of his manwhore ways. Just that one scene, and he was obsessed and alpha for Violet from that moment on no one else matter to him but Violet. He never did let anyone see the real him but Violet. And few times I did wanna smack him because of what he said. But ill be honest he man up and proved me wrong.. he protected his girl, even if he was in the wrong he would apologized. He won me over in the end. Which is rare.

Low angst, no om drama and Ow drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, virgin gal and mentioned he was a manwhore (we see him in the first chapter with someone getting a bj and h sees turned on and flips H off. But nothing eles)

Sees Hero getting a bj (that doesn’t bug me too much) but her getting turned on from seeing it is a pass for me.

This was a sweet romance from high school kids on the opposite sides of the track. No om or ow drama. Mike and Violet did not have an easy journey to becoming a couple it was filled with ups and downs and betrayals, surprises and ultimately second chances. Can these two broken souls make it work?

Secrets and lies

Violet has secrets, ones that could derail her future if anyone found out. Keeping a low profile is on her list. But what she didn’t expect was Big Mike. His reputation is legendary throughout the halls of Black mountain Academy.

When he spies Violet watching him in an uncompromising position he doesn’t shy away, heck he gets off on it.

What people don’t realise is that it’s all for show. Mike only show what people want to see. Know one really knows big Mike or the man he keeps hidden.

When he discovers Violets secret he uses it to his advantage. He wants her. She won’t touch him. But now this leverage he has, he’ll use to get what he wants.

These two are unlike the average high school kid, for one they are older. Both have secrets. Both are just looking for a place to belong.

It’s a yes from me.

Oh lord this book surprised me in a good way. I enjoyed this story it was full of surprises and both main characters were interesting and kept me invested in the book. Big Mike had me laughing even when he was being so inappropriate, then as the story progressed he melted my heart which I was not expecting. Violet is my girl I absolutely love her Jordan has written a spiky resourceful young woman who keeps getting kicked but she doesn't stay down. I loved the banter between them you could feel the attraction and when Mike goes all in there was no stopping him. I enjoyed the direction the story went in because it was unexpected. Another enjoyable book in this series.

Did not finish. Not worth finishing.

Is it too much to ask for a heroine who doesn’t drool over a disgusting male mc at the drop of a hat?! 30 plus pages in and one very public bj performed on the male mc as witnessed by the female mc and I’m already completely turned off. Violet tried to come off as this independent female mc focused on one goal but she’s a textbook doormat character. And after seeing how she practically fell on the floor to kiss Big Mike’s feet, the story just basically spoils itself and for the sake of my mental health I just had to skip to end to leave this scathing review.

Glad to see where we’re at with female empowerment in romance novels I guess… Nothing, not even the sorry attempt at witty banter between the two leads could get me to go back and finish this. Neither characters are redeemable. A doormat and a pig equals happily ever after I guess…how sad.

5 Stars!

He might be a notorious heartbreaker from the Black Mountain Academy elite but there is NO WAY she'll ever be able to resist him when he sets his eyes on HER.

Jordan Marie is here with her latest standalone and holy angst and all those pesky feels. Y'all seriously this book, this couple, and most importantly this cocky af hero she created... whewww! be still my beating heart. Mr. Heartbreaker was everything I needed it to be in the most unexpected ways- intense, unstoppable, unputdownable, exhilarating, and a little bit twisted in a whole lot of moments.

Mike and Violet, these two own a little piece of my heart after their journey. I didn't expect to fall for them so hard but damn, I never stood a chance, just like them. I'm talking thick on the page tension, chemistry that nether could deny, and a whole lot of sexy steam that means you a little breathless and squirming in your seat.

Jordan Marie is always a hit for me and this might just be my new favorite by ber. Packed with heart, heat, angst, steam, and all of those unforgettable- edge of the seat moments, Mr. Heartbreaker is an absolute must read in all the ways.

I highly recommend this book.

Another hit for this author!

Lets talk about this amazing author and the Lucas world she's built... Brilliant is what they both are!
This is a spin off with minimal crossover characters😞 Which means You don't get the full on crazy, brilliant character of Ida Sue in this book. So, I highly suggest you read all the Lucas Brother books now, like one click buy, borrow, steal but get them all!
Now about this book... I'm going to be honest I didn't love "Big Mike" or the third person persona referenced to him for the first to many chapters! But because of this author, I stuck with it and I'm very pleased to say it is worth it!! This book touches on high school drama, bullying, family dynamics/ dysfunction! What this amazing book reminds me is to not judge a book by the cover, not everyone's life is as perfect as they present or appearances and most importantly don't judge someone until you've walked in their shoes! I absolutely adored Violet, her heart, mind, strength and more importantly her ability to overcome her horrible childhood to make herself who she is and becomes! To be on your own as a child and still have the ability to care for a homeless man, open her heart to see past the "Big Mike" persona! She actually sees the truth that's hidden behind the walls and BS we all hide behind so no one sees the true you! Well that's a special character and in real life we could all learn to be more like Violet! Definitely would have been 5 stars but took me a minute to get into it due to... Once again "Big Mike"!! ugh hitting my forehead on a wall type action and SMH! Because D@mπ!!
💚 Jordan Marie Is a wonderful author read her books, follow her, you'll thank me!

"I'll try and puzzle out the mystery that is Violet Raines later. Somehow, I think she just might be a riddle that I'll never completely solve. And I think I like that."

This is such a fun series, I've read a few so far and enjoyed each one in the Black Mountain Academy. This particular book involves Violet, transplant to Black Mountain, and "Big Mike" the previously assumed school player and perceived un-serious person on the planet. A meeting to go down in history as AWKWARD at best, the journey these two take is not straight, but the back and forth had me giggling, they are both endearing, and I enjoyed the tension, the fall, and the angsty happenings. Of course favorites from this Author made some Cameos that had me full out belly laughing. No need to read the other books or in any particular order, but they are a great, fun, binge-able series.

"Big Mike Huntington healed my heart, even the broken pieces I thought would never be whole again. He's not Mr. Heartbreaker. He's Mr. Wonderful."

At first glance Mike appears to be living the dreams as he is a star athlete on the field and when it comes to school he not only holds a position of power but he has shown that he can have whatever girl he whenever he wants her. When he meets Violet, she refuses to fall for his charm like ever girl before her and that only makes him more determined to bend her to his will by any means necessary.

Violet has dreams for her future, and she isn’t about to let anyone, or anything stand in her way. At times it has forced her to make choices she wouldn’t ordinarily make and even though she owns those decisions she doesn’t want them held against her. Letting Mike too close to her and her could only end in disaster but denying him is easier said than done.

Both Mike and Violet bear the emotional scars of the past but in each other they find the love and support that they have never received from each other.

I really enjoyed this tory and was instantly intrigued from the start of this story. I really enjoyed the way that there was angst within the story but also the problems that occurred outside of the characters school. This story really took you on a range of emotions.

Violet is the strong and independent heroine of the story that is determined to succeed in life. I really feel for her with the way that she doesn't let others get close to her and how she has a problem trusting others.

Mike comes across as the arrogant guy of the school that doesn't let others see the real him. It is obvious in the story that this is true and that he is holding back a lot of pain and anger.

These two characters were perfect together and I really enjoyed the unusual way they got together. This was an enjoyable read and was a great addition to this multi author series.

My rating: 4 stars.

What I liked: I liked Violet. She was a strong h and even though she had a rough childhood she still was sweet and caring (especially with Rooster and Gladys) I really loved how we got to see Ida Sue!! She is one of my favorite characters and it’s never a dull moment when she shows up.

What I didn’t like: I wanted more showing instead of telling. Especially the week after he blackmailed her. It’s mentioned how he treated her like a girlfriend and walked her to the classroom and lots of kisses.... I wanted to read it happening and not just them telling us (I guess you can say I’m just being greedy because I just wanted more)

How hot was it: 3 out 5

Triggers: H is a manwhore and in the beginning he is getting a bj from ow. Also, the H blackmails the h.

Final thoughts: This book was good especially the surprise visit from Ada Sue (I’m kinda obsessed with her if you can’t tell) I can’t wait to read Maggie’s book!!!

I loved this story. I was instantly intrigued right from the beginning. Big Mike is the notorious rich playboy of Black Mountain Academy. Violet strong, independent new girl at Black Mountain Academy. Mike finds himself fascinated with the new girl Violet when she catches him getting a blow job under the school stairs and she keeps blowing off his advances. Violet just want to finish her senior year at BMA so she could get into an Ivy League college and stay under the radar so no one figures out her secrets. As hard as she tries to stay away from her attraction to the foul mouth playboy, he finds out her secret and blackmails her into spending time with him. Love the banter between these two. Enjoyed reading Mike as he let Violet get to know the real Mike and not the ahole he is around everyone else. This story is full of heart, heat, steam and angst.

I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the story, but what I got I'm really happy with.
I love Violet. That girl is beautiful. And by beautiful I don't mean the physical beauty. Violet life growing up wasn't easy, but she found her dreams despite life throwing curveballs. She's a fighter. I loved her sass and strong personality.
Mike... It wasn't easy with him. While from the beginning, I knew how I feel about Violet and it never changed, with Mike it was different. He was right, when he said, that he doesn't let people see the real him. From the first meeting I didn't have 'warm' feelings for him. Mike was a douch canoe, that needed down peg or two. But... The more story unfolds and the more you see the sides Mike hides from the world, the sides he let's only Violet to see, the more you realize, that there so much more to him. You realize, that he's hurting and the persona he presents to the world is his way to hide it or even is a silent scream to save him. Which what Violet does, even if Mike doesn't know that at the beginning.
Honestly, I'm not sure which had it worse growing up. Does it even fair to compare? Each has scars from theirs life's, scars that they healed for each other. So, I guess that what matters the most.

Straight up, Mike is the most loveable alpha-hole around! He has made being a jerk his full time job and it shows. There aren't too many girls at BMA that he hasn't gotten up close and personal with. Violet has transferred in to get the right recommendations for college. She is Ivy League bound and a guy like Mike has heartbreak written all over him. She is determined to keep her eye on the prize but Mike is even more determined to have Violet in his arms. She is a boss for sure, she had to be if she wanted to survive. But Mike makes it impossible for her to avoid him and how he makes her feel. Oh my gosh, the energy between them, the attraction is electric. I honestly don't think I can do this story justice, it was phenomenal! Ten stars for the marvelous Jordan Marie's Mr. Heartbreaker!

The lastest read from Black Mountain Academy, Mr. Heartbreaker from @jordan_marie_author
tells us about Michael & Violet.
Both these characters are faking or pretending in their daily lives, although both has opposite goals and expectations from life, but from the first meeting, Michael was steady in pursuing violet.
Violet was the relatable girl, she accepted she was attracted towards him but also wasn't ready to give up on her dreams so easily.
The story was sweet and beautiful. Zero darkness and it was a light feel good story about two characters were0 always meant to be.
Even the side characters and their interactions were meaningful and nice to read.
A must read for high school romance lovers...

Everything I love and expect from Jordan Marie!

What do you expect from a beautiful, rich, spoiled high school athlete? I think we all expect a bratty punk that needs to be taken down a peg or two. But right from the beginning we see there’s more to Big Mike than what most see and you quick start to love him. Couple that with a feisty, street smart, independent girl like Violet and Mr. Heartbreaker becomes Mr. Heartmelter (cue the swoon and heart eyes).

I love the banter between Mike and Violet. I love his over the top personality, never taking no for an answer and always getting what he wants. Violet is one of my favorite characters because she’s smart and determined, and doesn’t let anyone or anything get in her way. She’s also kind and compassionate, even when life has been so rough for her.

I LOVED this book! I didn’t mean to read it all at one time, but I just couldn’t put it down! Great book! Well done, Jordan Marie!

This book was absolutely lovely!

Since Jordan Marie was a new-to-me author I wasn't sure what to expect from this book.
I love dark and bully romances, but I have a specific trigger about romanticizing sexual abuse and that's always a risk with this trope.

I loved Violet from the first page. She is strong, independent and sassy, forged by the streets yet somehow not jaded with a kind heart. She's beautiful in and out.
Mike though, I had to warm up to. but here's the thing, and the reason why Mr. Heartbreaker is the best kind of bully romance: It has great character growth and development. With every new side to Mike revealed to us (and to Violet) I started liking and then loving ho, more and more, and that's the utter greatness of this book.

5 stars and a rooster

I have not read many books by Jordan Marie but I am digging the Black Mountain Academy series! This one is about Mike and Violet and these two opposites might not be so opposite and the journey is an awesome one!

Violet is a leading lady that you can get behind, she is absolutely awesome and a fighter. Mike, on the other hand, is a main man that takes a little bit of time to understand him, dude definitely has layers, but once you get under them you can't help but like him. All in all, this was a great book, I give it 4.5 outta 5 stars!

PS: Thank you to Jordan Marie and Candi Kane PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.

Maybe I’m just being funky because this book was a little boring to me. 2.5 stars? She sees him getting a blowy and hates him from first sight. I usually like the chase but this one had no depth or was fun 😒

Then he sees her working hard for the money (ba bum ba bum! So harrrrd for it honey ba bum ba bum) and blackmails her to be with him or she would be kicked out of school. then he grovels that he never meant it and really wants them to be boyfriend and girlfriend and go steady. 😂🤦‍♀️🥴

I dunno, he has father issues which was kinda predictable and boring and his mom is a sloppy drunk 🤔 it was fun to see ida from the orignal Jordan Marie books but still….it was a little boring 😭🤷‍♀️

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times; this author sure knows how to write Alpha males. Be it PNR, MC, a "bully" romance like this one or small town, her Alpha's are my favourite. Not to mention her sassy take no fluffy heroines. And all that is here and there is some juicy cameos too. I adored this and inhaled it in one sitting. Mike and Violet have a connection from day one and Mike was all in from then. I love a hero like that. This was so so good and I can't wait to finish off my read of everything this author has ever written. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Loved this story. Violet is a match for Mike. She wasn’t going to give into his playboy ways at the beginning but Mike saw Violet not as a conquest but a person he wanted to get close to. Their attraction for each other soon turned into love. They supported each other. Another great love story by Jordan Marie
