I thought the scenery would be the highlight of my working trip to Scotland, then a dark-haired, kilted Highlander walks into the bar. That swoony Scottish accent. Dark eyes and a sexy smirk.
Would anyone blame me for a quick holiday romance? Except if I want to keep my job, Ewan is off limits. I need to lock down my lust.
For a former poor kid who's used to deprivation, this should be easier.
But my cocky Scot doesn’t agree, and he’s hell bent on changing my mind.

Cocky Kilt is a cute and steamy romp between a New York lass and a determined Scot. Expect sexting after dark and a love-conquers-all happy ending.
Written in the Cocky Hero Club world, Hailey, our heroine, is first featured in Park Avenue Player by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward.

Short, cute and sweet! An insta-attraction that was realistic and relatable. There’s not much else I can tell you except I enjoyed the heck out this story and I’ll be looking into this author’s backlist to see what other goodies she has written! Go forth and enjoy a couple of hours to yourself :) it’ll be worth it!
Have you read any of the 𝐂𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐘 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐎 𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐁 books? I started out reading EVERY. SINGLE. ONE as they were released, but of course life got in the way and I’ve not read any for a while...Until now, that is. When I found out that one of my absolute favourites had written a story for this series I knew I had to get my hands on it. 𝐂𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐘 𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐓 by is Ewan & Hailey’s story and it is based on 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐑 (Hailey is Hollis & Elodie’s niece). This story, although slightly shorter, was classic Jolie and I honestly couldn’t get enough of it. If hunky Scots in kilts are your thing then you’ll fall head over heels for the swoony Ewan; who just so happens to be related to some of my favourite Highlanders from Jolie’s other series’. Cocky Kilt is a great addition to the CHC books.
Well I've just discovered a new Author to me! Loved this short novel inspired by Park Avenue Player. This was brilliant and if you can't resist a Scotsman you better start reading! Short, sexy and oh so yummy!
Hailey (Elodie & Hollis' niece from Park Avenue Player) is determined to work her way to the top of her company on her own. Though she loves her wealthy aunt and uncle, the ones who lovingly raised her, she shuns financial help. So far she's on her way, then she meets a gorgeous man while on a work trip to Scotland. The cocky kilt-wearing man wants more from her than she's willing to give, even after he finds out a relationship between them is off limits because he's a potential client. Will their connection stay strong even after she heads back to the States?
But there might be more than a potential off-limits situation to deter them, because the walls around Hailey's heart are strong thanks to a deadbeat dad causing damage to her emotional health Hailey may not even be aware she has. Will Ewan's sweetness and persistence be enough to scale her walls and embed him into her heart? Or will they be doomed to live their lives on different continents without each other?
This is a superb addition to the Cocky Hero Club! I loved Ewan and Hailey together. Jolie Vines took Vi and Penelope's adorable Hailey and made her into a wonderful adult who was lucky enough to be paired with a gorgeous sweet Scot who was her equal in every way. I can say I've never been more proud to be an adopted Scot than after reading this sexy, sweet story of Hailey and her very own kilt-wearing Scot.

4 Star Review Cocky Kilt (Cocky Hero Club) by Jolie Vines I am loving this series as I have found so many new authors to read. Cocky Kilt is part of The Cocky Hero Club inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward.
I was hooked on the story that Jolie Vines wove from the first to the last chapter. I really loved the main characters of Ewan and Hailey. Travelling to Scotland, to search out business opportunities for the boutique travel agency she works for Hailey meets Ewan at The Cock Bridge Inn when she goes to check out his family hotel.
From the moment they meet these two have a connection, one that Hailey knows she should not act on, however the attraction and chemistry that sizzle between them is too hard to resist.
I loved how sassy Hailey was and Ewan was swoon worthy, the banter and the humour was witty. It was also a romantic, steamy and entertaining fun read that left me with a smile on my face.
As a child Hailey didn’t have the best upbringing until her Uncle Hollis came into her life. She is now trying to forge her path in the world of travel which is how she finds herself in Scotland visiting Ewan’s family estate.
Ewan knows that an endorsement from the company that Hailey works would turn the fortunes around for him and the town but he soon realizes if it comes down to a choice between Hailey or the endorsement there is no contest.
A little family drama, a whole lot of chemistry and two people who are determined to find a way to be together.
I love the Cocky Hero World because there are so many new-to-me authors to meet, and Jolie happened to be one for me. This story is taken from Park Avenue Player, and features Hailey and Ewan as our characters. This inst-attraction novel was pretty relatable to real-life situations, and features two characters who are destined to be together.
Oh man, do I loved this one! This is my favourite among the series for sure! You can never go wrong with Jolie Vines
Ewan and Hailey's story is sweet and steamy. I loved both of their characters. I was hooked by these two from the first page. From the moment they met, there are a connection and chemistry that is just too hard to resist. They are just swoon-worthy together filled with witty banter.
Overall, this is a romantic and entertaining read.
Jolie Vines’s Cocky Kilt is the Scottish Highlander romance you need right now. What do you get when you mix an ambitious U.S. travel intern with a trip to Scotland? An opportunity for meeting the men of Scotland. This story is inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Park Avenue Player where it involves Hailey from that book finding and eventually falling for Ewan, a Scottish Highlander. The travel company that Hailey works for is interested in Ewan’s family’s town as a possible destination for one of their tours. There to investigate it and meet with the manager of the town, Hailey finds Ewan in a local pub, not realizing that he is the son of the cantankerous manager. Instantly, Ewan and Hailey are drawn to each other and find themselves on the verge of a one-night stand when they realize each other’s respective roles, ending the chances of acting upon their unbridled chemistry. The next day, Hailey meets Ewan’s father who is angry about local tourism even though it will save their township, and their meeting unravels. Months later, Hailey and Ewan reunite when her travel company decides to look again at Ewan’s destination. Never forgetting each other, they decide to secretly fall into a relationship. However, will their secret be found out? How will Hailey and Ewan face the future together when he lives in Scotland and she lives in the U.S.? Those questions are answered within the $exy, swoony space of Vines’s Cocky Kilt.
I will remind readers over and over again that Jolie Vines writes the best heroes. These are men who embody the Scottish Highlander, honor and family over everything else. With those qualities, they fall head over heels for their heroines, and Ewan is definitely more of this. His want for Hailey is palpable, and he tries everything to woo her to him. Their instant attraction and subsequent chemistry are fiery. As the reader, you want them to find a way to a future together, but Vines does a great job of building the anticipation of that end.
Hailey has an underlying story in this book. Her father hasn’t been the father figure she desired, and while she has seemingly accepted it, after a deeper dive into her character, you find that her inner little girl struggles with letting go of the dream of him. Thankfully, her uncle and aunt (the main characters of Park Avene Player) are all the family she needs, and the resolution of this aspect of her story is sweet. Even more, she is likable in her ambition for success. She has truly overcome her past to find success in her future.
If I had any criticism of Cocky Kilt, it would be its finish. For me, it felt rushed. Maybe this had more to do with the fact that Vines does such a great job of developing the tension of Ewan and Hailey’s coupling that I wanted her to take her time in developing their falling resolution. For me, it felt a bit rushed. However, when you consider any piece of writing, if that’s my only criticism, then that is minute in comparison to the heady journey of Vines’s Ewan and Hailey.
Once again, Jolie Vines captivates her reader in her creation of love in the Scottish Highlands. As she does so beautifully, time and time again, she has crafted a hero whom you can’t help but adore in Cocky Kilt. Meeting these men who are so staid and honorable makes reading her books a most delectable treat in a world that feels mad at times. Ewan and Hailey’s story will absolutely make you smile.
When Hailey's boss gets sick she gets to take the trip of a lifetime to the one place she has always wanted to visit Scotland. She is scoping out places to expand and help the travel agency she works for. Ewan owns the inn with his father and well let's just say his father is stubborn. When he meets Hailey they have sparks for sure, but neither of them will mix business with pleasure. What I like about this book was the beauty it showed you of a country most won't be able to go to. And the love between two people who put others before themselves. When Hailey goes back home things are not as they seem. These two though have chemistry need to decide what is most important to them. I love this story.
Cocky Kilt is an instant-love fast-paced read. Based on Park Avenue Player by V. Keeland and Penelope Ward, this novella tells the story of Hailey, who is Hollis and Elodie's niece.
She works for a prestigious travel agency in NYC and is determined to show her worth. But what is supposed to be a work-related trip to Scotland to scout some potential locations, turns into an almost one-night stand with Ewan McClintock, a super hot and alpha Scottish kilted Highlander who also happens to be the son of the owner of an inn her company is looking into.
While Hailey will try to do the right thing and focus on her career, Ewan is determined to pursue the connection he felt. And let's say NYC and a snowstorm will play their magic. Cocky Kilt makes for a great and witty read. It's entertaining and the descriptions of both NYC under the snow and the Scottish Highlands make it even more compelling. It's a book that will put a smile on your face!
I adored this book! It is perfect to read on a rainy day with some english tea to get sucked into the scottish highlands with an american travel agent an a hot kilt wearing scot.
From the first moment Ewan and Hailey met they knew they had a connection like no other and really nothing could keep them apart not even the distance.
Ewan and Haileys story is sweet, steamy and just a feel good romance with almost no drama which I enjoyed alot.
There isn't anyone better than Jolie Vines at creating the perfectly yummy Scotsman out there, and I'll NEVER EVER get enough. Hailey is sent to Scotland for work, which is when she comes across the super sexy Ewan (OH MY HELL kilts are my weakness). His father is the one who she's trying to work with, and said father isn't making things easy whatsoever. She feels an instant pull towards Ewan, but she knows he's off limits, but he didn't read the memo because he's in it to win it & she's who he wants. Everyone needs to have their fan nearby as this sexy dance begins because Ewan will disintegrate your drawers. Of course when that chemistry ignites with no hope of going out, things are not only more sexy, but complicated because Hailey lives in the US, while he's not leaving Scotland. To see how this delightfully sexy story turns out, you'll have to hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Cocky Kilt is an enjoyable story that is perfect to read whilst snuggled under a blanket on a cold, winter's day. Hailey and Ewan are dealing with the same determination to prove themselves when they first meet and whilst this nearly railroads them, it ends up leading them to where they really belong. I really enjoyed this quick and drama free 5 star read, but I wish it had been longer because I was left wanting more and to see what the future holds for this beautiful couple.
Jolie Vines is a new author to me, but I'll definitely be checking out her other books because I love how she writes and how Cocky Kilt allowed me to lose myself in the words and escape from reality. This is a book that reminds me of why I love reading so much ♥
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
4 1/2 Star Read. I love how I'm finding lots of new authors in the Cocky Hero Club Books. I'm new to Jolie and I wasn't disappointed. This story is about Hailey and Ewan. Hailey gets to travel to Scotland to check out some new business for their travel agency when her boss gets sick and can't go. Hailey has to check a couple of businesses to add to their tours for American travelers. At the second stop on her trip, she finds herself at Cock Bridge Inn where she's meeting Mr McClintock the next morning to discuss their options to attract tourists. While having dinner with some other ladies she meets Ewan and is instantly attracted to him and he to her. Later when she finds out he is the son of the possible new sign up she puts a stop to everything with Ewan. She doesn't want to lose her job over a possible conflict of interest. Ewan's afraid his father might ruin everything to build the business with his behavior and hatred of tourists. Will Hailey and Ewan manage to overcome everything and make a long-distance relationship work. If you're looking for a quick read with a sexy Scotsman and some romance you'll love this story. I received an arc for NNBB.
4.5 Stars for Cocky Kilt ( Cocky Hero Club) I’m loving everything about the world of Cocky Hero’s, I’m loving finding new authors, new characters and catching up with old favourites from the past. Jolie Vines is a new author to me and after reading Cocky Kilt I’m left wondering why she hasn’t crossed my path before now. This book captivated me from the first page to the last line, I loved Ewan and Hailey’s story and I’m sure you will too if you just one click this entertaining read. Hailey is visiting Scotland to research business opportunities for the boutique travel agency she works for, staying and researching The Cock Bridge Inn she meets Ewan and they fast become friends but what happens when feelings come into play, what happens when they find themselves in different countries with a big pond between them.... This book ticked all my boxes, I loved the characters and the witty banter they shared, Ewan is a swoon worthy hero and the chemistry he shares with Hailey is intense, all in all a very entertaining read that I highly recommend.
4-4.5🌟 stars I am a big fan of author Jolie Vines' two Scots series and though this novella had many of the same great elements from those series I thought the short length detracted some. Handsome & kilted hero, independent heroine, passion & steam, a requisite complication to thwart their romance: all present and accounted for.
Just wish there had been a bit more of it. Especially more on the challenges related to their past that linger for the main characters. A glimpse of a disappointing childhood Christmas for heroine Hailey was touching and I wanted more insights like that and to understand why Ewan's father is so stroppy!
I think this is my first read in this particular series and suspect the shorter length, novella rather than full-length book, may be typical of the stories in the series. Given a shorter page constraint, this was a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying read with no cliffhangers.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I adored Hailey in the previous book, Park Avenue Player. She was a fiesty, precocious child driving her uncle wild. Seeing her grow up and finding adventures on her own was refreshing. Despite being raised by her uncle, Hailey has a chip on her shoulder. Determined to prove her worth to others, rebuffs help whenever possible and is a mite stubborn. On assignment in Scotland as part of an internship she meets Ewan. Ewan is struggling to prove himself in the family business. A chance encounter between the two, sparks a slow burn flame that is a joy to read. Jolie has a way of bringing so much life to her characters using wit, snark and hilarious situations that simply make you fall in love with her stories. I love how both characters have to put in the time to work on their own hearts to find what really matters. And of course, who can resist a cheeky Scotsman?
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a fantastic addition to this phenomenal series and is Ewan and Hailey’s story. Hailey is feisty, stubborn, and independent, and was raised by her uncle and when she is sent on assignment to Scotland where she meets Ewan a sexy Scotsman in a kilt, who is finding his feet in the family business, and the chemistry between them is intense. This is a well written story which has undeniable chemistry, witty banter, and is a humorous and entertaining read. I was totally hooked and intrigued throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.
Hot and sweet! I've been attracted to Scottish Highland men through many authors, and Ms. Vines is one of my favorites. Modern day sexy Scots!
I just loved Ewan's back story! I loved that he hadn't been in a relationship for over a year.
Love the scene where Hailey and Ewan catch each other's eyes for the first time! Not going to give anything away. I rather found Ewan sweet, yet hot, not cocky at all! Loved this story!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Another fine Scot from Vines! Ewan is the perfect balance of cocky and sweet -- and he cooks! I appreciated Hailey's decisive nature; no hemming and hawing for her. And their chemistry is so powerful! Looking forward to more.
Loved this story about grown-up Hailey (from Park Avenue Player) and Ewan.
"I was beyond fascinated with this woman and needed to get acquainted with her lips."
Hailey LaCroix is trying to make her mark in her job in NYC. She meets Ewan McLintock on a reconnaissance trip to Scotland. Their connection and attraction is immediate and tangible. However, before they can take things any further than a really hot kiss, they realise that they can't, without jeopardising their professional relationship before it's even begun. Nonetheless, once she's back home, she can't resist starting a text relationship with him, which eventually escalates into something much more over time.
"I knew she felt it, too, the fierce draw. The delight at being together."
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was fun seeing a grown-up Hailey, who was such a sassy, smart little kid in Park Avenue Player. She had a few worries on her plate but the chemistry between Ewan and her was hot and real. I loved Ewan's character, too. If you've read this author's Scots novels, Ewan is a cousin to the central McRae characters. He was such a gentleman and pretty earnest, but also something of a sexy beast, too! I adored them together.
Nothing like that first-meeting butterflies. Hailey and Ewan started out hot and heavy and then had to backtrack. I loved that they got to know each other over text before the second meeting. It was sweet, yet the heat never let up between the two with the obstacles that got in the way of a couple living an ocean apart.
Ewan McClintock, cousin to the MacRaes, is hoping his family inn can land a contract with a New York City-based tourism agency, if he can manage his unpredictable father's abrasive behavior long enough to impress Hailey, the agency's representative. Hailey is impressed beyond words with Ewan and their instant chemistry sets off fireworks for miles around, but their business concerns must come first. They both think there's no possible middle ground between NYC and the Scottish Highlands, but their attraction just can't be ignored.
I loved the way these two interacted, with Ewan just bossy enough to get the job done and Hailey balancing her attraction to him and her objectivity and respect for her career. We get scenes both in New York and in Scotland, drawing us into both families to give a strong foundation for each character's identity and future plans. Hailey's background is heartbreaking, and I loved the way she rose above it all without letting it define her.
By the time I was celebrating their HEA, I was wishing the McClintock family inn was a real place I could visit. I was completely charmed by this story and highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Super cute quick read! And now I want to go to Scotland! Jolie Vines paints a beautiful picture with her storytelling that you can see so clearly, it’s like you are actually there!
This is a story about Hailey and Ewan, an American girl and a brawny Scot. These two have a connection from the first time they meet, and their relationship makes for a perfect romance.
This story has everything you need and men in kilts! I mean what else can you ask for? It’s a fantastic addition to the Cocky Hero World!
Everytime I read a story by Jolie Vines I get a serious craving to visit Scotland. These stories are always so full of love for this country. Then you throw in that Scottish accent and I'm done for.
Ewan and Hailey are adorable together. They have one of those instant attractions that we all love to read about. But what I love most is that they don't jump head first into a long distance relationship. They realize that they have obstacles they need to work through first; hurdles that need to be figured out.
This is a fast paced story with a lot of sweet romance and low key drama. Just what I currently needed. I really enjoyed this story and hope that we'll see snippets of them in future books. (P.S. if you read Stubborn Spark you might remember Blayne mentioning Ewan's name!)
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

Cocky Kilt was the perfect Sunday evening read. I mean seriously, how delicious is a sexy, cocky, Scotsman?!?! I devoured this book in one sitting and absolutely fell in love with the author, Jolie Vines.
Ewan is a hot, tatted, kilt wearing, Scot. Hailey is a specialized travel agent based out of New York.
While on a business trip to assess the validity of Ewan’s family business, the two meet, and their chemistry is off the charts.
Hailey tries and fails, to maintain a professional distance but Ewan is her kryptonite. For his part, Ewan, has fallen hard and fast for the sexy American.
Watching Ewan and Hailey get their sexy and well deserved happily ever after made this an unputdownable read. Cocky Kilt gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. TBR and Enjoy!
Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! I think the single women in Scotland are in trouble. After reading this book (and all the Scots books) by Ms Vine, the single women all over the world will be rushing to catch a Scotsman in a kilt. This is a steamy romance that you don’t want to miss. A girl from New York City travels on business to a small Inn in the Cairngorms and finds a gorgeous hunk of man. She is only there one night but their meeting is unforgettable to both of them. Now, get this book, a box of tissues and a quiet reading corner and let the characters take you away. Pure Bliss.
Hailey LaCroix came from humble roots, a drug addict mother who checked out when she was a baby and a father who cared more about ripping people off than taking care of his daughter and ended up in jail hen she was 10. That was the best thing for her, she then ended up with her Uncle who found love with her nanny and she got the loving family she always craved.. She's now living in his NYC penthouse apartment while her family now lives on a sprawling estate in Connecticut. She has a new job working for a travel company who sets up excursions in other countries. She meets Ewen McClintock at his Scottish farm to scope out his location.
The chemistry between Hailey and Ewen was ELECTRIC! And he wears a Kilt! The sparks were flying, but they had to shut things down after they realized they would be working together. Ewen's dad throws a wrench in the plans but there is plenty of back and forth in sexy texts and phone calls that grow the budding romance beyond the initial instalust into something much stronger. I kept waiting for something big to drop, some angst that never appeared, which was a bit of a disappointment to me. It was a short, sweet read which didn't feel rushed. I LOVE epilogues and this one was sugar coated!
I enjoyed this Cocky Hero Book and did not read the book that it spun off from, but I had no problem following the book at all! Well written, very rare editing errors. Well Done Jolie! I already downloaded the book which is excerpted at the end of this one, MARRY THE SCOT. Looking forward to diving into it.
