What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas… or does it? Raquel heads to Sin City for business and pleasure, but the pleasure she expected to have on her trip turns into a different rendezvous that takes her on a journey around the world. Shaun didn’t have to look for what he wanted. It always came to him. Unexpectedly, a weekend trip turns into more than what he bargained for. Two strangers. Two cities. One sinful weekend.
M.T. Dixon is a twenty-something woman residing in Los Angeles who has been writing since elementary school - from plays to short stories and poems. As a pre-teen, she became obsessed with books by Jacqueline Woodson and Sharon Draper, leading into British literature, African-American fiction, and poetry as her love of reading grew. A few of Dixon’s favorite authors are Shakespeare, J. K. Rowling, and Zane. Like her love of reading, her creativity never stops. Now, after penning her first novel, she is on fire to write more. If you don’t see her writing, she’s most likely binge watching her favorite shows, reading, exploring the world, or curating playlists. Look out for more of her unconventional romance novels to come because she has so many exciting things in store!
I have to say, I was not very excited about reading Raquel's story. I just didn't think she was interesting enough to warrant her own book. I had my nose turned all the way up and was giving Monopoly all kinds of side and it turned out to be the best book in the series. Raquel and Shaun were a sexy azz couple. They had it all. Chemistry, BDE, and sexual attraction. Theirs was a believable insta love story. Raquel literally seemed to captivate Shaun at hello and it was enjoyable to watch him spoil Raquel at every turn and show her that he not only heard her desires but saw to them as well. I also loved how they took the time to really get to know one another and learn each other's love language. Honey, Raquel and Shaun are the couple we all aspire to be. I really hope Anika gets her own story. I need to know what man can tame her fast tail behind. Monopoly really surprised me. It turned out to be a much better book than book two. The only reason I didn't give it 5-stars is because of the bad grammar and horrible writing. This author's writing needs a lot of work. The potential is there. She just needs to do the work to hone her skills.
I love a spicy read! But, one that’s dope too?? You got me. Honestly, random pairings are becoming one of my fav tropes and that’s what this was. Random but believable as hell. New fan over here.
Monopoly (Wild Thoughts Baecation #3) by M.T. Dixon is about Raquel Daniels business operations manager for clothing line Virgo and law student. Raquel meets app developer Shaun Price in Vegas after her original plans fall through. From the moment these two meet it’s fireworks. I love Shaun’s energy it is BDE & RDE (you’ll learn about this one, there’s level to this (Get you a man that has both 😏)). They had the best conversations about intimacy, family and what they want out of life. For two people that work so hard they certainly know how to play harder. Raquel and Shaun are nasty nasty and I love it 🤤 (When it comes to truth or dare, always choose DARE!). Getting to see characters from the previous books is a definite bonus, Anika is a whole fool 🤣 (I can’t wait for her story). I love the use of the anytimebae app! (If you haven’t read the first 2 books in this series please do so!) Seeing Black people in Tech is so important 👏🏽 Shaun’s so straight forward, he played no games. Raquel is such a go getter it was nice to see Shaun treat her so well and take the lead! Just because she can do for herself doesn’t mean she should have to! Black women in luxury 💎 is a necessary image! Shaun is a sweetheart! I love him 😍 I would marry him in a heartbeat. Love the ending! Yes, she’s the PRIZE! Shaun played the game right, treated her like a Queen. P.s. I love this for US!
Very cute and sexy book with no drama! Great book to read if you want to avoid any heaviness and just want to enjoy a great love story. Raquel literally seemed to have Shaun at hello and it was enjoyable, enviable and amazing to see Shaun spoil her at every turn and show that he not only heard her desires but saw them as well. The book had a few typing and grammatical errors but nothing to detract from enjoying the book.
The story was a good read and I will likely read it again. Sometimes I struggle with Insta romance and sex quickly. And in this story, both happened whether I was ready or not. Give this sexy short a quick spin.
Raquel just came out on top didn't she!! I loved Shaun. He was so passionate and attentive. I wonder will Anika get a story. Maybe she changes Chance, lol. I need an update on all couples from this series.
While I enjoyed these two wayyyy than Ahli & Derek, I think this authors style is/was still being developed. Idk, something was missing for me. Now don't get me wrong, I love that Raquel & Shawn had to go all the way to Vegas to meet each other & then when they got back to DC, they hooked up again. Shaun felt like Raquel slipped thru his hands, but the ATAB app had him set by already having him matched with her. He applied pressure & of course got the girl. Raquel & Shaun was good but I would have been way more invested in Anika finding some BDE that was putting a permanent end to her hot girl summer. This was a decent book to end the series.
Slippery when wet so proceed caution ⚠️ ⚠️. This book really good. What happens when a 48 hour rendezvous in Las Vegas turned out to be something more? Sitting back and letting a man take the lead was foriegn as hell to Raquel. However she was willing to give it up for the right man. Shaun was the epitome of BDE, it was oozing out his pores. He really took charge and made her felt things she'd only dreamt of happening.
