Hannah knows there is something special about the wooden bear cub puppet from the moment she buys it at a Christmas market. So when the puppet gets broken, she cries herself to sleep.
Woken by a growling noise, she finds herself in a stable wearing strange old-fashioned clothes. Then she comes face to face with a real-life bear cub! The cub has been locked in ready to be put on show at the local market. Can Hannah return the bear to the wild and find a way back to her own time?
Holly Webb is one of Britain's best-loved children's writers. She has written over a hundred books for children, and her work has been translated into over thirty languages. Holly lives in Tilehurst, just outside of Reading, Berkshire, with her husband, three children and several cats.
Luna (by Holly Webb) I like this book because it's full of emotion and love (although it's not romantic.) The book shows Holly Webb's love for animals and how we should prefect them.
Hannah is at a Christmas fair and falls in love with a toy but it broke so Hannah falls asleep crying and wakes-up in a stable in the past. How will she find her way back home?
I’m ashamed to say, as someone who loves children’s books, that this is my first Holly Webb read, but I’m also really pleased that Luna was my introduction to her work because I really enjoyed it! I thought this emotional little story was super educational & I love how well Holly managed to tell a story of animal abuse without being harsh or violent. I thought the plot of the story was really sweet & I can think of a little girl that I would love to share this with. I love the opportunity for discussion between adults & children about the dancing bear crimes of past & present, & Jo Anne Davis’ illustrations were both beautifully simple & carefully detailed. I completely recommend this.

I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher in return for an honest review.
A wonderful story for younger readers, with a big heart. I've read a couple of books by the author before and their premise is quite simple, but it's still engaging and they are wonderful for all the young animal lovers. This book focuses on the mistreatment of the bears who used to be kidnapped to be used in entertainment. There are no cruel details, as it's a children's book, but the message is still strong enough to come through clearly and I appreciate it.
It was good the fact they saved the bear Cub Luna and found her a mother. It was sad how they hurt the bears. I enjoyed the plot, characters and the adventure. I loved how it was about bears.
