'I'm sprawled on the sofa holding my stomach tenderly with floppy fingers ... I am never eating again. The Queen is talking to the nation, but all I can think about are the falafels in the fridge.'
She can’t wait to finally start living, but first she must lose weight and stop pulling out her eyebrows then everything will be perfect. Weighting to Live follows one woman’s struggle to stop living for tomorrow in the midst of the illness of her beloved grandmother, a miserable boss, a crazy family, inner demons and a lack of self-belief.
Along the way she might find true love … and a cat called Nigel.
Cara started writing in 2013 after falling in love with it whilst housebound from the iatrogenic condition, Topical Steroid Addiction, which she has since made a full recovery from. In December 2017, she released the book, Curing my Incurable Eczema, about her battle with Topical Steroid Addiction, which reached the top five in the dermatology book charts on Amazon. A fun book, very real. A girl with her own issues with weight and other personal issues, a crazy (and often horrible) family, a grandmother with a terminal illness, and a horrible job, falls in love and attempts to work out why he loves her despite all of the things going on with her. A quick and enjoyable read.
Loved this book. It was a real bonus as I got it as a Goodreads giveaway so might have missed it otherwise. Also got a lovely handwritten card from the author Lily Divine. It's a lovely story, funny but with a lot of pathos and angst. Would recommend.
