Straight Guys #10

Just a Bit Dirty

Rate this book
A ruthless CEO of a large company.
A British student confused about his sexuality.
They have nothing in common.
The sizzling attraction between them makes absolutely no sense.

When Miles Hardaway decided to spend the summer in America to get away from his overbearing family, the last thing he expected was to end up falling for a man he should dislike—but doesn’t.

Ian Caldwell is the most arrogant, bossy man Miles has ever met. He drives Miles absolutely crazy. Although Miles has been warned that Ian is playing some dirty, underhanded game, he finds himself caught between his friends and a man he shouldn’t want.

Who will he choose when his heart and his mind are telling him two different things?

Note: This book contains explicit MM content, D/s undertones, and graphic language. Although this book can stand alone, it is preferable to have read Just a Bit Twisted (Book 1) and Just a Bit Wrong (Book 4) before this one.

Second re-read: 24.03.2021
I had to, okay. Don't give me the judgy eyes. The thing is, I like this book, I enjoy it, however, I don't like that Derek is put in a bad light. I also wish we had gotten to see Ian fully be himself without holding back. Overall, we all know I will re-read this again in the future.
In short, his sexuality was still a mystery, and Google wasn't offering any answers.

Re-read: 27.02.2020
Since I've re-read - again - most of the books in the series, I couldn't leave this one out. I still like it just as I did the first time around, which is a plus and typical for me with this series. I'm too obsessed with these damn books. That being said, I fear the day the author stops writing books - especially for this series. Oh and,

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*!CONTAINS SPOILERS!*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

The review for first read:
I was actually pleasantly surprised of this book. I liked it and I didn't want to stop reading it until it was finished. Hell, I didn't want it to end. Same as I felt when reading book #1 and #2. However, there were a few things I didn't enjoy so much: I had expected to see more of Derek and Shawn (I did like seeing a POV from Derek, no matter how short it was). We barely saw them, and what we saw wasn't all that. I didn't like how betrayed I felt by Miles feeling so little loyalty for Derek, but I can understand it all the same. But Derek and Shawn are my favorite couple in this series, soooo... my loyalty is to them no matter what. It also annoyed me a bit that Ian seemed more... powerful (is that the right word?) than Derek. Then there's the fact that Miles is away from his family, and will continue to be away from the family. This is a sad thing since they're such a close family.

Now beside from that, the book's story wasn't bad, it was entertaining and fast forward. Of course, like all the other books in this series I always want more as much of the books feel like a prequel to the couples real story. That said, the book centers around Miles Hardaway (20), who we first met in Just a Bit Confusing (I think?). The baby brother of Zach and Nick, who's had their own books as well, and Ian Caldwell (31), a ruthless CEO of a large company; the owner of the Caldwell Group. He was recently divorced and had custody of his only son. Miles sees Ian at a company event celebrating Rutledge Enterprises’ partnership with the Caldwell Group. He then mets him properly after Derek "sends" Miles to spy on Ian's intentions while acting as an intern. This doesn't go as planned. Miles suddenly find himself as a nanny for Ian's son who's struggling to talk and Ian is desperate to try anything.

Overall, I liked the chemistry between Miles and Ian, though I had wanted more. I wanted more of their relationship, a deeper bond, but the sex was hot enough and I liked seeing the other previous characters, but of course I wanted more there as well. Ian was sexy and you all know I love possessive, controlling men in my books. I wish he didn't hold back for most of the book. Though the focus was on Ian and Miles' relationship, I felt that Miles was a bit detached from civilization. The author's note scared me though, I do NOT want this series to ever end, and I hope she reconsiders it. I truly do. That being said, I'm not all that interested in reading the next book if it's gonna center around And OMG WE GOT TO SEE HARRY AND ADAM!!!! OMG!!! I didn't understand it at first, I just thought it was another Harry Miles met, but it's my Harry!! Gods I've missed them! So sad that it was such a short meeting, Haz and Adam are one of my favorite characters and couples and I desperately want more for them. Maybe Alessandra Hazard will write a sequel for them...? Crap now I want to re-read their book again.

Other Characters:
→ Professor Derek ‘Professor Asshole’ Rutledge (38? 39?) and his husband Shawn Wyatt Rutledge (25? 26?). Shawn's sisters, the twin girls, Emily and Melissa ‘Bee’ Wyatt (10?)
Zach Hardaway, Miles' oldest brother, Tristan, his husband.
Tom, Mr. Rutledge’s driver.
Ernie (was that his name?), Ian's personal assistant.
Sofia (50-something), Ian's secretary. She had worked for Rutledge Enterprises for decades, Caldwell had become the CEO—and her boss—just a few weeks ago (at the start of the book).
Regina Travers, Ian's ex-wife. A C-list actress who’d played a few minor roles in some small movies. She’s in a rehab center now. Heroin addiction.
Liam (3), Ian's son who is traumatized by something in the past.
Winifred Danvers, Ian's housekeeper.
Zane, Ian's driver.
Amanda Brooks, Ian's half-sister. The one who was "engaged" to Derek because Derek's father announced it. She got humiliated in public and tried to kill herself, hench Ian and Derek's distaste for each other.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Contemporary Romance (M/M)
Series: - Series (Standalone?), Book Ten.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Ian Caldwell, I think. I saw too little of Derek.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Yes.
Will I read this again in the future? - Who knows.
Rating - 3 stars.

Review before reading:
I can't freaking wait! Though I desperately want Alessandra Hazard to write faster, because I really need some more of the Straight Guys series.

I will never not go feral for a romance where the guy hates everyone and everything in the world apart from that one special someone. I swoon every time the guy goes soft for his sunshiny love interest. And when they can’t ever say no to them? It just hits different.

I really loved Ian’s obsession with Miles and the way he was terribly protective and possessive of him. I also liked that he genuinely thought Miles was perfect for him.

As a whole, I thought this was a pleasant to read book and I had a good time with it. I liked both characters and their relationship had some elements I completely adored (like the obsession and nurturing between them). However, the execution was sometimes lacking a little bit in depth, and that was what kept me from loving this book rather than just like it.

“until you, i’ve known neither passion nor love. after you, i’ll likely never know them again.”

omg! these two surprised the hell out of me! i did not expect to love them this much after all the negative reviews i’ve seen. (why are y’all lying… lmao👀)

and yeah, the plot was weird af in the beginning, but let’s be honest, nobody reads this series for the fucking plot lines.💀

i liked how intoxicated they were with each other. the pure need they felt for each other was palpable and super sexy. i ~love~ obsessiveness and possessiveness in my romances and these two gave me that in spades. i also felt like they were really perfect together, they both felt safe and comfortable with each from the very beginning.

“miles turned his face to look at ian and found himself transfixed, caught in ian’s hungry gaze. miles hoped his own gaze wasn’t as besotted as he felt. he felt beautiful, wanted, and special. ian made him feel sexy, powerful, and powerless all at once. it was such an addictive feeling.”

description

”his apprehensions disappeared the moment he looked at ian. he loved this man, loved him so much, despite all his flaws and stubborn, high-handed ways.”

and, of course, they were also super hot together. 👀 i do wish we got to see more kinky sex on page though. it was implied they had lots of it, with blindfolds and ropes and stuff, but we didn’t get to see any of that shit. disappointing to say the least. 🙄

however, i loved ian and miles regardless. they’re now definitely one of my favourite couples from this series.🖤

I don't know how I finished this.
As a fan of Straight Guys series, I can't understand what just happened here .
This plot was nonsensical! All over the place! Besides, there was no passion and chemistry between these guys. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
The worse of it was Miles using Ian to figure out his sexuality. That experiment part where they made out was terrible. There was no heat from Ian's side. It seemed like Ian, at some point, started enjoying all the sex experiment just because he could have his kink way with Miles, guilt-free, a convenience. Something he couldn't have with his ex-girlfriends. On top of that, the relationship development was very weak.

Really enjoyed this one even though I had to suspend my disbelief a bit and roll my eyes at certain parts. For some reason, I still gobble that shit up like it is the most delicious cupcake ever !!

I have enjoyed every single book in this series but one, and I am sure I will be re-reading them still years from now. Knowing there will only be one more does make me a bit sad though...

If you loved the other books in this series, then I am sure you will love this one as well. I do not recommend reading this one as a stand-alone. The author herself advises to at least read Derek and Shawn's book as well as Tristan and Zach's and I highly agree ;)

There were definitely some loose ends, but Alessandra did state that more will be cleared up in the next and final book... so I will just have to wait and see.

Just a Bit Dirty is book ten in the Straight Guys series by Alessandra Hazard. I am on the final stretch of this series and I’m loving every minute of it.

Miles Hardaway is twenty years old, a college student, and the youngest sibling of the huge Hardaway clan. All of his brothers are over protective of him, especially his oldest brother who pretty much raised him. He wants a summer away so he’s off to Boston to spend a few months in America.

Miles has always struggled with his sexuality. No label seems to work for him. He doesn’t feel attraction at all, no matter which sex he tries to get close to. When he went to Boston, he thought he’d have an adventure. But he could never have prepared for his reaction when he met Ian. It’s like his libido went from zero to sixty in a second. Now he realized what all the fuss over sex was about.

Ian Caldwell is thirty one years old, is recently divorced and has custody of his three year old son. He has a reputation for being cold hearted, cruel and devious. He is also straight. Ian can’t understand his strange fixation with the young Miles. But the more he is around him, the more he wants to be around him.

Both of these men know their attraction to one another is unhealthy. But neither of them can fight it. Miles is only in Boston for a limited time. His home is in London. He’ll eventually have to leave. So whatever happens, it’s only temporary.

This is another sizzling addition to this series. I loved the way Miles softened Ian. When you first meet him, he probably never smiled. But as time went by, Miles had such a positive effect on him. And I loved that Miles had no filter. He just said whatever popped into his head. And of course, it had a sweet ending. Now I’m off to the next book, book eleven, Just a Bit Wrecked. To be honest, I already read the first couple of chapters and it was all I could do to pull myself away to write this review. So I’ll see you on the other side!

No lie, I really liked this one. Something about intense guys who borderline obsession that does it for me 🤷🏽‍♀️

There was a little part in there when discussing Ian’s son and he described him as having “autism symptoms” that rubbed me the wrong way. Autism does not have symptoms and to use that word means that you see autistics as sick. FYI: they aren’t sick they just have a different brain. I think it’s important to always know the value of words and sometimes even meaning no harm can cause harm.

[ 1st Reread: 4/15/22]

Until you, I’ve known neither passion nor love. After you, I’ll likely never know them again. And maybe that’s all right.

I started this book on such a whim you guys, I was sick on not being able to decide on what to read and I low-key have an exam I haven't prepared for in 5 hours. Who's clowning? Me. And lord save me, I don't regret one second of my time reading this book because OH HOW IT CAPTIVATED ME 🥺

Honestly, at this point, I have no idea what to expect when it comes to Alessandra. → Sometimes I want to twist the roots of my hair, and sometimes I fucking kiss the very ground she walks on.

This book reminded me SO MUCH of Prince's Master, and not because those two books are similar, (though I do feel like there could be a connection there cus the publication date for these two aren't that far) but because reading this book reminded me of how I felt reading Prince's Master for the first time and loving it so. damn. much, so damn giddy, and literally screaming at every possessive claim Ian, my man takes. Bitch, he doesn't asks, HE TAKES.

He wanted this boy, this young man who had crawled under his skin like a delicious addiction in the short time they’d known each other. He wanted to have him, possess him on every level there was to possess another person without losing himself too. Or maybe that was the problem—he wanted to lose himself in this sweet, incredible human being who somehow managed to sate the insatiable, soul-deep hunger Ian had always carried inside him.

Honestly, is it even a surprise by HOW MUCH I adore Ian. I swear, me and antiheroes are on a whole new level. And Ian's cold-heartedness? His intense ass glare? His demanding ass standard? The way he TAKES just as he pleases? I'm a puddle on a ground.

And Ian and Miles moments together? 🤧🤧🤧 I'm so soft, can someone wipe a tear at the corner of my eye because their BANTER killed me. I was unmaned at their every conversation.

Ian looked at the ceiling. “I don’t know why I put up with this.”
“You like me,” Miles said, his grin widening when Ian didn’t deny it.
“You’re amusing, I guess,” Ian said.
“You like me; don’t you deny it,” Miles said, pushing Ian’s shirt up to look at his abs. He whistled a little. “Nice.”
“I’ve never felt so objectified in my life,” Ian said wryly. “You want to cop a feel? Don’t be shy.”
Miles laughed and did just that.

And omg did my heart BREAK when I flipped to ending of the last chapter and saw NO EPILOGUE! ✋ That was a stretch too far Alessandra. TOO FAR.

and now I'm gonna go study for my exams no 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Initial reactions:
Holy fuck. This was SO FUCKIN GOOD.

✨ hot ✨

i honestly appreciated how honest and straight to the point Miles was (excluding lying to Ian about the Rutledges asking him to spy for them) when it comes to his feelings for Ian, i love characters like him bc i get annoyed when they are in denial for tooo long or they beat around the bush, and i loved Ian for being the cold, grumpy one who eventually falls for Miles. 😌 i also loved Liam, the kid was a cutie and i loved his moments with Miles. 🥰

“Say you’re mine,” Ian heard himself say. Miles moaned and nodded weakly, his eyes glazed over with pleasure. Ian tightened his fingers around Miles’s throat. “Say it.” “I’m,” Miles croaked out, sounding completely gone. “Yours.”

After the mess that was book 8 & 9, book 10 was a treat! If you have read this series, you would know that most of the stories are OTT, and at times require one to suspend all disbelief but no matter the flaws and imperfections, this book particularly, was highly enjoyable. I understand that this was not a fan favorite but I gotta say your missing out. There was a lot to gosh about.

I, personally adored this book. It was hot, endearing and sweet. In my opinion, it had what was missing in the last two books: passion, intensity, and romance.

Was it perfect? no. Was it my all time favorite? no, book 7 has forever captured my heart lol but was this enjoyable and sweet? YES.

What I loved about this book was IAN (Miles too but Ian is everything). I think AH was inspired by my darling handsome man Ian Somerhalder 😍.

The smoldering blue eyes with deep intense stares towards Miles, the possessiveness and the need to "own" his lovers, his domineering qualities, and confidence makes one to not only swoon but also leaves the reader to want to root for this sexy arrogant man to cherish Miles and love him with all his heart's desires. These are of course all toxic traits in a man but what can I say I have embraced the toxicity of all the men in this series. There is something about a possessive asshole that AH captures perfectly and Ian is one of those men in this series.

I also loved Miles, another Hardaway brother. He is the baby of the family, who flees to the U.S. to seek some independence from his overbearing family. He crashes with the American characters: Shawn and Derek😍(and we briefly see Alexander and Chris), for his summer stay. But this vacation is unlike anything he has experienced. He goes from being a tourist, to an intern/spy to a manny throughout the story and unexpectedly falls in love with the brooding CEO, Ian Caldwell.

Their relationship is anything but normal, Ian is a complex single dad with an interesting sexual appetite and Miles is a broke college student still figuring out his sexuality. Miles is direct and says what is always on his mind. So, it came as no surprise that when he noticed his attraction to Ian he just blurted it out and ignited their flaming passionate romance😉.

Remember when I said Ian had an interesting sexual appetite? well him and Miles are perfect for one another when it comes to being sexually compatible. It starts out odd but I promise you it makes sense as the story progresses.

Another thing I loved about Miles (aside from his bluntness), was his flirty nature. He was such a flirt! I did not expect that from the baby brother haha. He was an easy character to love. Blunt, needy, flirty and at times innocent, Miles was inexperienced (sexually) but he embraced Ian for who he is. They work well together. Miles is by no means naïve and I liked that he wanted to prove to his family that he could be independent. While his efforts were charming, he never stood a chance when it came to Ian. Ian is a provider and a protector, so Miles was not as independent as he liked to be in the story. He lived with Derek and Shawn, then with Ian and his jobs were sort of provided for him. So there was not much independence going on. But do I care? no because he got to live with Ian and explored his sexuality😏. I also adored his little moments with Ian's son, Liam. I wish there were more moments between the trio but oh well.

In the real world, we stay away from toxic men like Ian but when it comes to reading about them I cannot stay away, I am a total slut for these possessive assholes🙈. AH writes them well what can I say? haha.

I do wish the story had more of a plot, the focus was mostly on their relationship but whatever. And while I was excited to be reunited with the American crew, I wish Derek and Shawn weren't such cockblockers in this book. They were at times annoying. Sigh. It was also nice to get a quick glimpse of Alex and Chris! My babes are engaged along with Derek and Shawn who are now married. It was nice to catch up with them briefly in the story. And Harry? omg. What a surprise. I am so glad he made a quick cameo to solve Miles's love life haha.

Overall, book 10 was an enjoyable read. I do wish it was longer with an epilogue and a less rushed ending but we cannot have it all can we? I am probably gonna read book 11 and 12 later because I do not want the series to finish yet. I have developed an unhealthy obsession with it...smh. I am gonna be sad once it is over and who knows when Jordan's book is coming this year. So I do not mind delaying those reads.

Until next time!👋

This series is pretty much what I always expect OTT drama and insta love/lust regardless though I pretty much always have fun reading them. I liked the MC Ian and miles they had hot chemistry and an undeniable connection. The story is light on angst and there’s some misunderstanding that quickly settle. I always appreciate how these stories never drag. Everything was going good till the last couple of chapters I’m not gonna lie I wasn’t happy with Miles decision it went against what he proclaim he felt for Ian, at least, for me it felt like that. Their issues were settled but I didn’t like how it happened. Overall I still enjoyed it. ❤️

I enjoyed this so much!! Ian and Miles were great together. I wish we got more Liam and Miles moments but the ones we did get were precious. 🥺💜 The Harry cameo? I didn't expect that at all. Made me smile so much, he could not be any cuter! 🥰 Those final few chapters were...messy to say the least. 😅 I am now officially caught up with this series and I'm beyond excited for book 12!

Told in multiple POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the "Straight Guys" series with characters cross over. Given that it can be read as a standalone, but I think if you read it in order you'd enjoy it more! Although I enjoyed this story a lot, but still there are some issues here! Ian was straight all his life. He only has slept with women. So when he goes with Miles experience he wouldn't feel any confusion! I expected a bit more resistance from him on that part after so many years being straight and all of a sudden being attracted to a man, well, I think he should feel a bit confused or questioning himself or, I don't know, something?! He goes for it easily. But aside from that I loved his personality, his dominance over Miles. I liked Miles too, his sass and even vulnerability, feeling safe when he was with Ian, his banter... loved their chemistry, their connection. It's well-written, a bit anhsty and I wish there was more to the ending. All in all, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well!

This book is good but not the “i would gladly die for these characters/romance” kind of good. I feel like the current Straight Guys books lack in the tension and intensity which were present in the earlier books. Books 4, 5, 6, and 7 remains superior for me. The characters , Ian and Miles, were just fine. As for the romance, it kinda bothers me that their HEA was given to them. Not much stood out as a whole. I would rate this higher, and I know this is petty, if this story is loaded with the possessive/animalistic sex. Out of the 5 of them, Zach and Ryan are still my favourite Hardaway brothers. I got the last one remaining and my mind are finally ranking these books. I just hope the last one is a really good one. I want something that will gut me.

While reading this book, I got enlightened about two things-

1. I didn't DNF the book when Ian said, Miles remind him of his ex-wife and even when Miles thinks that he is attracted to Ian because he reminds Miles of his overprotective elder brother zack.
The simple conclusion to draw is that finally, I am an addict.🤣🤣

2. If you are reading Alessandra Hazard for the first time, there are high chances you will go into a total frenzy ( on her OTT plots and dialogues) but once you become addicted, just an eye roll will suffice.

Now enough of all this talk about Nirvana. Let's see what I loved about this book.😊😊 I love Miles, he was super sweet and totally honest about his emotions. Even Ian who was possessive and overbearing is not as adamant as other MCs of this series about his sexuality. I found the steam level super hot and sizzling. But most of all I loved the appearance of other couples like Shawn and Derek and Alexander and Christian from other books.

The plot of this book is ludicrous. I thought I'd stick with it but it's sucking my reserves of patience dry. How is this popular?

Miles is conceited, Caldwell's an idiot.

Miles turns up in America. His older brother is generous to allow him to go. FFS, he's twenty. Then his older brother's friend can't be there, because emergency, but he makes sure he stays with his richy-rich friends in their McMansion. Then one of the richy-rich guys info dumps about how he hates his hugely successful business, and he basically doesn't understand it. Miles, who he doesn't even know, can be a spy so he can get a bead on Ian Caldwell who has merged with the richy-rich's.

Caldwell is a wealthy and successful CEO. One whose child is three and has 'some autistic traits' but 'not enough' and can't talk because of trauma. So what does he do? Stares at Miles. A lot. Why? Because he sort of, kind of looks like his ex wife, the addict who probably traumatised the boy in the first place. Makes lots of sense. Right? No!! Nothing is ever fleshed out and developed.

“I’ve been told even small children remember their mothers better than anything. Even if he doesn’t remember her well, seeing you might destroy whatever psychological block he has after she abandoned him.”

For god's sakes. *Serenity now.

Don't even get me started on the asexual ideas dragged off some random and vague page in a Google search.

I feel insulted. It's like we read romance so we'll accept anything. No research, no kernel of truth to the ideas. One star is too much.

*Might be mildly distracted due to my exams coming up, but here goes nothing. *

This was just fine. This couple did have vanilla sex— just as a friend had said—despite what Hazard made it sound like, there may or may not have included just a few finger print bruises bit overall, the sex was something I've read a couple times before.

I can't say I'm completely content on how this ended or the plot as a whole, but it wasn't bad. It wasn't the best but it wasn't bad.

Don’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened.

The 10th book in the series is about 20-year old Miles Hardaway, the youngest sibling of the Hardaway clan.
Travelling to America he meets 31-year old Ian Caldwell, divorced and single father to Liam.

While I've enjoyed this series, this one felt a bit rushed. The way these two got it on, “Go ahead. I’ll be your lab rat.” was just too unrealistic. And sure, this is fiction, but compared to the other books, it just felt off.

Miles's character was a bit too sympathetic and likeable, but being the youngest and sheltered one, it was probably fitting Zach had always been overprotective of him. He thought of Miles as more of a son than a brother.

The wrapping off felt unfinished, but at the end of the book the author gave a short statement I know there are some loose ends; they’re going to be tied up in the next book of the series, Just a Bit Cruel, so I guess I'll have to wait for that one.

But Harry & Adam's cameo was really surprising!

Part of the Straight Guys Series and while each can be read as a standalone, they are best enjoyed when read in order:

4 ‘Adore’ 🌟

Ian was one greedy bastard. He’d always wanted for his partner to be his, body, heart, and soul…

Just A Bit Dirty absolutely reminded me why I love Alessandra Hazard’s writing and her characters. After what a mess yesterday was with DNF’ing The Hunter and giving 2.5 (my lowest rating ever) to Just A Bit Gay, I’m so glad that it was this book that brought me back from the verge of a reading slump!

He wouldn’t care if Miles were a man, a woman, or someone sexless. Ian wanted him for himself. He wanted to keep him. He wanted to have him around, always.

Ian Caldwell and Miles Hardaway were totally lovable and so adorable together. I mean their story is probably not realistic, but it was freaking entertaining to read about. Their chemistry was just oozing off of the pages and I couldn’t have been happier about it! The way that these needed each other and has such a soul-deep hunger for each other just connected with me and convinced me to read majority of this book in one sitting. I was thoroughly engrossed in their story and the only reason it is one star away from being perfect is because of the spying part in the plot that wasn’t convincing.

Ian was looking at him, and everything was finally right in the world.

Also, the cameos were amazing!!! We get a Shawn and Derek part along with a Tristian and Zach part and I was so here for it! Also, Harry from the Calluvia’s Royalty series made an appearance and I can’t help but come up with theories about how he was connected to Ian’s recovery in the end.

I fucking adore you, despite all your arrogant, controlling ways.

Overall, a fantastic addition to this series! I freaking adore Ian and Miles together and can’t wait to read more about them in future books!

4.5 Sizzling 🔥HOT🔥stars!! I don’t know why, but even OTT plots by Ms Hazard make me swoon.. and OMG this story was completely crazy and unbelievable 😳😱 and yet, I LOVED IT!!💞😍. I couldn’t put it down😉 it was that addictive😍. It had all the key ingredients that make a perfect “Straight Guys” book.., A young and confused twenty-something ✅, an asshole arrogant billionaire who is “straight”✅ Crazy reason that puts them in close personal quarters ✅ A cute an adorable child that makes the reader go “Aww” 😍✅. Mind blowing attraction between the MCs✅ A pinch of kink here and there just to make things spicy ✅ a few cameo and surprising appearances made by beloved MCs from earlier books ✅a little angst and emotion ✅ and finally they unite and realize that they are MFEO ✅✅ 💘💖. (Although the HEA felt a little hurried with some loose ends 😳; I hope the next one in the series gives us some closure)
I simply love Ms. Hazard’s anti-heroes; they are intimidating, ruthless and sometimes even cruel with some questionable ethics and morals (Derek, Roman, Ian). And yet when they are slayed by a smart-mouthed boy at least a decade younger than them (Shawn, Luke, Miles).💘💞, they become these lovable cuddly bears who are possessive, a little too attached and all growly..😠 it’s completely OTT and l love it!!😍💖.
This will join my other favorites in this series"Just A Bit Twisted" and "Just A Bit Ruthless"💘. (Makes me want to re-read them one more time) Highly recommended to all Alessandra Hazard fans!!👍🏻👍🏻 Can’t wait for the next one..🤩

I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! Ian's possessiveness + Miles neediness really worked for me in this book. I wish we had seen more of Liam and them all interacting together. I liked the ending but wish there was a more of HEA epilogue 🥺

This was good, a solid tenth installment in this series that I cant help but be addicted to.

In this one, it is about Miles, Zach's - from book #4 - youngest (I think he's the youngest) brother, who is now 20 years old and ready to see some of the world outside of London, and about Ian Caldwell, a 31 year old billionaire (thanks to family money) and CEO of a company that takes over Rutledge's dad's company (from all the way back in the first book).

Ian seems cold, uncaring, an asshole. And Rutledge wants Miles to keep an eye on him because he's afraid Ian has nefarious purposes for reasons he doesn't completely explain to Miles, who is weary of spying, basically.

Then when Miles and Ian meet, there's a spark there, although Ian maintains he's straight (that doesn't last for long around Miles ;)).

When Ian asks Miles to nanny for his 3 year old son as well, they get closer, and things happen - sexy things ;) - only things get a little complicated when things get more serious.

Overall I really liked this. My only real complaint is that it got a little rushed at the end - how . It just felt sudden to me. Also I wish there had been more of Ian's son, Liam, who was a cutie, and also I just wanted to see more of that relationship between Liam and Ian and Liam and Miles as well.

Loved the slight crossover too at the end there with Harry from Cullivia's Royalty ;) Nice to get that little bit (and also to know that these are in the same universes, then. Crazy, all the couples from this series live in a universe where there are aliens and they don't even know it ;).

Overall, very much enjoyed this and definitely recommend it. Two thumbs up from me. Can't wait for the next one - if there is a next one? (hopefully. Honestly I feel like this series could go on for awhile.)

3.5*** stars

Mhm… not as intense as I hoped this would be.

Until you, I’ve known neither passion nor love. After you, I’ll likely never know them again. And maybe that’s all right.

okay… 🥺🤧

Still, the way the author treats certain topics so carelessly in this series overall was once again blatantly obvious in this one and it didn’t sit right with me.
