A Tale of Tyranny and Heartbreak #2

Auschwitz to the Arctic: The Road of Bones to a Stalinist Gulag - Leah’s Story

Rate this book
"A saga that spans the most politically relevant generations of the 20th Century. It will haunt you.” Ray Hoy of The Fiction Works
“An adventure that will keep you up at nights. Be forewarned, this is graphic. It is a factionalised tale of woe that begs the question – which was the more evil of two of the most depraved ideologies that have befallen us. Thoroughly recommended.” FRK
An Auschwitz survivor is sentenced to a Siberian Gulag for crimes against the state after suffering abuse at the hands of a passing KGB unit. She writes of the injustices of fascism and the savage extremes of Stalinist socialism in a series of mysterious letters that surface in Cold War Berlin.
An IRA assassin determines to rescue her no matter the cost to him or those around him. He enlists a sworn enemy, the British Army soldier recently captured by a Republican cell in Armagh. Despite the political divide that separates them, the two men find themselves blood bound to voyage to Vorkuta in Siberia on a quest that defies common sense. As they set out on their suicidal mission, these Auschwitz linked combatants are joined by an AWOL Mossad agent, a man with his own personal agenda. While the trio equip themselves for their trek East to overturn the outrageous injustice committed by Stalinists, they encounter other Gulag inmate relatives who have similar tales of Auschwitz survivors enslaved by Communism. Between the resilient group and a death worth dying for stands the demonic forces of the old-boy SS network Odessa and the harsh elements of the Arctic Circle.
Dark secrets within a fresh series of Gulag letters confound them while all the while they ask themselves, which was the more evil ideology, National Socialism or Stalinist Communism? Before a single member of the expedition catches sight of the Siberian Aurora Lights, they encounter a psychotic KGB officer who has questions to ask and also to answer to. A man whose depravity eclipses the very worst that the Gestapo and SS demonstrated.

Anthony Vincent Bruno is the pseudonym of the bestselling category author of The Long Road to Auschwitz (Heartbreak and Tyranny 1) and its follow ups - Leah's Story: Auschwitz to the Arctic Circle - The Road of Bones to a Stalinist Gulag and Rescuing Zia - the Bloodied road to Damascus. These three novels warn of extremism, both Left and Right. After warning of the dangers of Hitlerism and Stalinism, "Rescuing Zia - the Bloodied Road to Damascus" exposes the misuse of Islam's archaic sharia law. Not all Germans of the period were Nazis and not all Russians were Soviet hardliners and in the case of the third book, the author points out that not all Islamic fundamentalists are bloodthirsty jihadists. "We just have to be on our guard against extremists hidden within the masses."

Among the author's most prominent works, are the SAS Special Forces orientated "Wicked Will Perish" series which has generated close to 100,000 downloads.

Versality being a thing these days, do not miss the audio book versions of "Never Again" and the outrageous comedy "Sex, Lies and the Bomb." "The Long Road to Auschwitz" audio book has just been released and many a listener gauges it to be without equal in terms of the voice acting. A remarkable performance by Ed Beasley.

Regarding the author's Clinton biography photo, "it was our job to protect people, not approve of them."

The author survived seven brushes with death and had a recent dalliance with the dreaded pancreatitis. It must mean one life left? "Going to give it some! Life is so precious. I cannot fathom why I am still here. Christ would be my bet, but it is so uncool these days to say such a thing. My belief is unshakable." AVB.

The Grisly Truths

This is not for the screamish the tale of a British (,Dorset & Devonshire) soldier and a Provisional IRA soldier or terrorist. However the true hero's are the ladies who went from Nazi concentration camps to Russian Gulags. The story starts with Max the soldier held hostage by the IRA which sounds horrendous but as this tale progresses its seems an insignificant event even though it isn't, however the events in Poland and Russia will well you need to read for yourself as i can't do it justice.
The book has letters from Russia that have found there way to Ireland are shared inbetween the take of the attempted rescue, the language is in line the characters and the storyline giving it a real truth to the experience. Read it then that will make sense.
I recommend this as a incredible read that will effect you if your human, as some of those that you will hear referred to will leave you wondering in many different ways his can they be human but they obviously were. Hitler, Stalin, Lennon were just a few off the barbers of the 20th century unfortunately there were even more outside of Europe these are stories that must be told so the millions will not be forgotten and the truth will be impossible to ignore or rewritten. No matter how painful it is to hear it must be heard even though it is impossible to fully grasp the true horrors and evil. That's my feelings see what you think.
