This was a heartwarming,  sentimental second chance story that will surely tug all your heartstrings

I have always held a soft spot for second chance romance. There is just something so sweet, so sentimental  about them that I can't help but root for these kind of romance to happen. Of course our central character or you can say heroine has to get through a world full of pain first. The author Kavita Bhatnagar has done a great job here. The story flowed well and characters were believable. Overall, this book was a sweet, delightful read about facing your past, moving forward with life and finding a second chance at love. I enjoyed this and totally recommend  it if you are looking for a quick contemporary read.

Second Chance by is the story of 26 year old Ragini Mathur. She works in a bank. The story talks about Ragini's journey of moving on after her divorce. As Ragini meets different suitors to marry again, will she get a second chance in love ?

The smooth flow of writing along with a good pace makes this an engaging read. Also, I really like how this book encourages moving on after divorce and starting a new chapter in one's life. Ragini's emotions and her thoughts have been portrayed in a manner that makes the reader really feel for her. I felt that Ragini could have gone a bit easy on her search for a suitor though. Overall, it is an effortlessly gripping book.

Book Title: Second Chance
Author: Kavita Bhatnagar
Format: Paperback

Book Title:
The title of the book ' Second Chance' is positive and promising

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is of abstract art of a couple walking together. The title and the image give the readers a vague idea that the book is about love and relationships.

My review:
Books with this kind of story happen rarely. I can strongly say that this is one of the best books that I have read in 2020. Being a married woman, coming from a semi-conventional south Indian family, I could relate to Ragini and Kamini in many places. When it comes to marriage and life-partners the freedom given by the parents in the name of concern sometimes backfires. Likewise, the liberty of choosing a partner and sustaining a relationship with the couple themselves also doesn't guarantee a happy future. With a lot of adaption, adjustments, and compromises marriages often become successes.

This story is about Ragini, a working woman, a woman seeking love, a woman seeking a partner to love her unwarranted, and a woman who sees many ups and downs. As always I wish to have this review a spoiler-free one, I will not disclose many details about the story.

I recommend this book for everyone out there who needs to relax, take a break, and feel good!

What I like:
1.The character of Ragini Mathur, the central character is a reflection of a young, dynamic and responsible woman who can be our neighbour or a friend or even our sister, whose life is at crossroads that needs a destination. This situation is explained very realistically.

2.The emotions and feelings of wanting and being loved are beautifully crafted.

3.At times Ragini's attitude may seem to be foolish, but the intention behind suffices it.

4.The patriarchal traditions that always curb a woman's mind and freedom are expressed very strongly.

5.The innate fear of society amongst people is described well.

6. The programmed minds of people about marriage, relationships, and emotions are shown correctly.

7.The dreams and aspirations of a small-town girl are written vividly.

What I didn't like:
1.The price of the book compared to the paper quality is found high.
2.The page indentation is a concern

Characters:
The story has Ragini, Kamini, and Mia as the central characters. Ragini's father, Kamini's husband, and son also share an important amount of screen space in the story. Other than these, the guest characters or the men and women Ragini meets after her separation from her husband Kadamb, also share some important and noted amount of space. With minute details about every character, as a reader one travels with these characters along with Ragini. This kind of characterization makes the story and the characters stay in mind for a longer time. Being a debut author, I very much congratulate the author for this impression.

Narration:
The narration in this book stands highlight. With colloquial and appealing language, the author has very well managed to capture a reader's mind. Ragini's mind, her apprehension and desire to find that perfect man is narrated very well. A father's fear, an elder sister's concern, the family's warmth, and a desperate man's thoughts are described interestingly.

Language & Grammar:
A fine language with good vocabulary is used in the book. In some chapters, rich words are found using. These enhanced the story set-up.

My Final Verdict:
A book that differentiates, educates, and explains the importance of life decisions

What do you think of giving Second Chances to someone in life?
.
We often think bad of everyone and everything else after a breakup or a divorce. Most of us tend to do away with the thought of Second marriage or being in love again. But do we really want that? We think that if the first one didn't work then we should not take the risk of trying again. The book "Second Chance" by Kavita Bhatnagar is about Ragini, the protagonist, who wanted a second marriage in her life. The first one didn't work but that doesn't mean she would shrug off the feeling of being in love again, stop thinking of a Prince Charming again, or get rid of the idea of marriage for ever.
.
The story is quite simple of Ragini getting a divorce from the one she used to love so much but her husband actually was in love with her money which she understood later. She desperately wanted someone in her to love the way she dreamt of and obviously in this thought process she joins the DivorceeMarriage.com community online. There she comes across strange men with strange desires towards having a certain criteria for a wife. She even managed to have an arranged marriage which also didn't work out. So the question is will she be able to find that perfect man who will respect and love her the way she wants? In this process she was emotionally torn apart but didn't withdraw from the search for a perfect man. Dive yourself into the roller coaster life journey of Ragini.
.
Ragini though in search of a perfect love knows where her boundaries are and what decision she has to take. Though in the start of every man she met Ragini gets carried away which harms her emotionally but at the end takes the right decision. The job factor is the one thing that she sticks through thick and thin not getting affected by the progression in her personal life. Some of the typical orthodox mindset is also presented where a woman wants to be only a mother to a child or a house maid. In such a situation the protagonist's reaction was justified.
.
The narration is quite good with the supporting characters as Kamini, the elder sister of Ragini and Mia, her best friend. I loved how supportive they both were with Ragini in the darkest period of her life. Kamini being the elder sister has been very supportive during the divorse process and also in Ragini's quest for 'Mr.Raymond.' Mia on the other hand supported her and told her to live a carefree life for a while.
.
The cover is quite impressive with the abstract picture of a couple clearly giving out that the book is about relationships and love life. The language is simple and with good vocabulary implied. The life that Ragini was living can be lived by any common girl and it is so realistically presented. So one should definitely give this book a read.

An amazing story which has captured the plight of a woman who undergoes a divorce and the struggles she faces in finding her man. The book is an eye-opener where remarriage has never been conceived in a good way, all these days and most importantly, it also talks about the pros and cons of trying to find your partner, online.

Ragini Mathur, the protagonist divorces her husband Kadamb after she comes to know of his other side. She undergoes a tremendous trauma because of this which was captured vividly. Despite of having a perfect job with a good salary, she undergoes lot of stress and this is where her sister Kamini and her childhood friend Mia comes into the picture.

She registers her profile in a website and gets cheated. Thankfully, she comes to know about the profiles who tries to cheat her, before the engagement/marriage. The story sends some strong messages which includes:

1. Do not compromise, unless required.
2. Do not be deceived. You have the right to know.
3. Make your own choice. Do not get bogged down.
4. Divorce isn't a phenomenon anymore. You can always restart your life with a re-marriage.
5. Support from family and friends is required. Do not ignore them.
6. Be ready to take the Second Chance!!

The list includes the names of Ramkumar, Rajkumar, Prabhat, Deepak, Ashutosh, Krisha to name a few. Yes. There are few more names which I have not mentioned deliberately because you need to buy the book to find it yourself.

This would surely appeal to those who have undergone this phase or going through one. Trust me, this book would also serve as a motivational factor making you feel good and help you in achieving the life you wanted - if you followed the instincts of the protagonist - Ragini!!

Second chance is Ragini's journey to find a partner after her first marriage ends due to her husband being abusive. She always dreamt of finding love and when her marriage collapses, she is heartbroken but decides not to let her hurt stop her from seeking love once again.

This book is written in a third person perspective which I thought would've helped the narration better but it didn't which was a bummer. Ragini's character is supposed to be of a working women with good head on her shoulders but she often comes across as a girl in a YA contemporary novel looking for love, romanticizing every experience she has which really made me feel like as if she lacked the depth of being a person. She was too one dimensional for me. Considering the trauma she's supposedly been through, which btw isn't even discussed properly. I mean it was an important aspect of her life and its just brushed off and seemed to have being used only as plot device. That's my main problem with this book, it tells us what this character is like but never actually shows us doing something that'd convince us that she is a free spirit or that she is hurt etc etc. Another thing is how Ragini has this self hatred and shame about being divorced. I mean, it's literally been used along with other adjectives to describe her as a person. Being a divorcee is not a bad thing and it's not a personality trait either. I can understand it wasn't the authors intention but it just seemed problematic to me. This book wasn't for me. It has a lot of internalize misogyny and it also promotes the idea that you need to have a companion to feel complete which is something that never sits well with me.

The writing style is easy to understand and you can check it out if you want.

Second Chance by Kavita Bhatnagar is an adult romance, where we see a young girl named Ragini, who has recently divorced and was in a toxic marriage earlier. She wishes to marry again and this story is about she finding her second chance at love.

We see alot of different male interests in this book, as Ragini goes and tries different matrimonial sites and meets different prospects for her future. We see how the entire marriage system in our society has actually become truly in this book.

The book reflects upon both the positives and negatives of a matrimonial website as well as what kind of support a divorced woman needs in Indian society. After seeing so many prospects, in the start she fails to see the true face of every person she meets.

But in this thick times her father, and her sister has always been by her side. Ragini wishes only for a peaceful and loving future from a simple man. But is it that different or is it easy to find love ? Will she be able to have her second chance?

The writing style is very well and I liked how strong headed the character of Ragini is shown in this book. The book will reflect upon the sad truths of our marriage system and the concept of divorce. The message conveyed via this book by the author is appreciated.

Ragini is a young and successful woman, but after going through an emotionally abusive marriage and an equally emotionally challenging divorce, her only wish is to fall in love again and live a happy life.

Second Chance is about Ragini's tryst with a string of possible prospects who could give her the love she desired. She signs up on a lot of matrimony sites online, and meets a lot of men, but each of them leave her with a bitter experience. Inspite of her family and her best friend Mia being her constant support, she cannot shrug off the idea that she has to live alone forever.

In a way, these experiences help Ragini gain her confidence back, that was crushed after her manipulative marriage. She comes into the realization that falling in love is not the endgame in her life. After a few years of travails, Ragini finally finds the man of her dreams, but of course life is not easy and the couple have to fight through the obstacles together.

Second Chance by Dr Kavita Bhatnagar is a fictional story of Ragini’s journey in search of a companion after a unsuccessful marriage in which she tried to find solace but didn’t succeed .The journey in search of a companion who would fulfill her expectations and dreams takes a number of turns and ups and downs. The journey is also a true reflection of challenges in our society But in the end she finds her soul mate. The story line and presentation is simple and would appeal to wide audience more so to women who face similar dilemma. One thing which stands out in the story is that it answers candidly a universal challenge ‘What women wants “.Ragini could find a companion who is honest and loyal to her,Understanding,Caring, mentally strong, compassionate, providing security. So what more a women would want,so her journey has an happy ending.. A well written novel worth a read .

Wonderful novel... intertwining the tale of a strong willed protagonist’s struggle n quest for true companionship. I specially loved the bond between the protagonist with her sister n her friend. Yes... everyone deserve a Second Chance ... But definitely not by compromising before the so called societal norms... that are made none other than by people living in the same society.
The author has aptly given this strong message with a very engaging story line. I couldn’t stop reading it until the end in one go. A must read novel for all.

The title and blurb of the book urged me to purchase it and I started reading with flow as narration was flawless and it was very important topic of the society. In our society woman's second marriage is most challenging then men. The Ragini's search for partner and her struggles really touched my heart and I could feel the pain. Also her support system Kamini and mia were beautifully penned down by the Author. It brought smile on our face. Mani and Ragini relationship was delighted to read. The end brought smile on our face. Overall a nice read.

Second chance By Kavita Bhatnagar

In my opinion everybody deserves a second chance in his or her life ,it doesn't mean that if you fail once you can't make it again.
This is a story of Ragini a confident, well settled girl who marries with her love Kadamb but after marriage Kadamb and his family behavior makes it difficult for Ragaini to survive so she get away with this marriage.
And her journey is started to quest for love and companionship. Her efforts make her interact with different suitors and take her on a roller coaster emotional ride.
Story is very simple and easy to read and can be read in a one go.what I didn't like in this book in search of love sho goes through so many sites for second marriage and people come and make fool of her and emotions, she met so many weird persons and all are same in their manner and after being so intelligent she becomes fool all over again so this I didn't like at all but she didn't lose hope and her confidence. So overall a one time read for me

“NEVER LOSE HOPE”
Well i must say that 👆🏻 is the clear message, the author wants to give and she has succeeded through her beautiful narrative. A must read for anyone who wants to give it (marriage) another shot after being failed in the first one. A truth revealing story is what you will feel, it makes you feel so real, so lively, as if it is happening around you or it might have happened with you at some point of time in your life. People are very much like that only, as the author has described. Some people wants to cheat and play with your feelings, on the other side some people are so kind and lovable that they are really worth your time.
So as you want to convey ms. author, i would also say that KEEP SEARCHING FOR LOVE.
Best wishes to Dr. Kavita Bhatnagar. Looking forward for your future assignments.

Relationship/ marriage at the end of the day is a necessity and not a compulsion.
1. Cover:
The cover of the book is beautiful showing a woman in a beautiful pose with a man, cover perfectly go with the plot of the book. It could have been something
2. Title: The title is apt and does go with the plot. 3. Characters: Every Character in the story played their role well. But some time Typical old generation mentality was portrayed well by some characters.
Ragini character was portrayed as the Girl who wants to achieve all her dreams and make herself proud. The whole story of this book revolves around Ragini,
Whose age has been just 26, a pretty girl, intelligent, earning well and also facing a divorced situation In her life.
After this, she determined to create a new life for herself. Can she able to do the same?
Or her life provide her second chance to create?
Well answer to these specified questions
Must read this book to know more about the wonderful story written by Kavita Bhatnagar.
4. Plot:
After reading a few pages, I could guess what’s coming next.
At the right places, the generation and thinking gap in people can be seen.
All the thrilling experiences will be find by the readers.
Romance, friendship, betrayal, love, emotions, feeling, respect for everyone, the thing is written beautifully.
Language is simple and easily understandable to new readers/beginners. The story is very predictable in the first half, but is a little interesting in the latter half of it. Narration is quite good with good language and Kavita Bhatnagar has been amazing in displaying the emotions through her words.
Overall the book has the most simplest+ emotional plot, and yet it has readers/beginners emotions through it. Honestly, I'd never know what the people go through both emotionally and physically when they transition, and this book has helped everyone understand it a bit. Reading about Ragini struggles with her divorced life and bullies and her own identity has somehow made one a different person today.

Try to read this book! This book willnot in any way going to disappoint you,
My rating 4 star read ✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✍✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

The story swirls around the protagonist Ragini Mathur, who was only 26 and divorce? She is a pretty, intelligent woman who is stable with her earnings. She has an elder sister named Kamini who is supportive and always ready to share a shoulder with her sister.

What happened to her life after the divorce? Did she find her true love soon? Did she get married again? Will life give her a second chance? These questions impel us to turn the page to the end.

This book comprises a total of twelve chapters. The plot is so challenging and a new read with strong messages. It tries to look at the dark and murky side of traditional things we are following for centuries. I love how the author portrayed the relationship between Ragini and Kamini, it is so warm and cozy to read. I could relate to myself in many situations.

The title is so inclined with the story, as the protagonist gives a second chance to herself in believing her, being strong, and going what feels right. Ragini's character has been painted well but sometimes miss to stand with the virtues of the main character. All other secondary characters are built well. The book is written in a third-person view. The writing style is lucid and discernible. The narration is satisfactory. The cover of the book could have been better than just a vector illustration for this story.

This book is a reflection of current harsh but yet true things happening in India. Overall, this book tickled my senses and understandings about the unwritten societal rules. The author really did a great job in plotting an exemplary message in the story. I would recommend this book to all readers who would love to read something different from usual romantic books. My best wishes to the author.

🔵Author- @kavi_bhat

🔵Publisher- @sterlingpublisherspvtltd

🔵Pages- 175

🔵Plot- Ragini is a 26-year-old woman. She is pretty, intelligent, well earned, and divorced.

She walked out of an abusive marriage and now she is looking for a second chance in love and companionship. Will life give her a second chance?

🔵Review-

▶️In the world of the Indian market, where almost every second book is talking about college romance or first love, a book on a second chance at love and marriage is refreshing.

▶️The range of suitors Ragini meets is quite interesting.

▶️The book shows how society perceives a divorced woman. The protagonist's inner and outer struggles brings us face to face with the reality of world.

▶️ The author has successfully conveyed the message that it is important that we should normalize divorce and second marriage. A person has the right to live his life without the shackles of orthodox society.

▶️I loved the smooth narration of the story. I was engaged from the first chapter itself.

▶️The other aspect that I liked in the book was strong female friendships.

▶️I would absolutely recommend this book if you are looking for a women-centric, light read book with a social message.
