5 “Love me for me” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

”She may be my captive, but she’s also my weakness. And I’m starting to believe that maybe she could also be my salvation.”

Mind. Blown. Away. A fantastic debut novel by Emma Creed. I’m so glad someone recommended this to me because it would have been a crime not reading this book. The plot, the writing, the darkness, the suspense, the emotions, it had Every. Thing. I look for in a romance. I don’t read captive romance very often but am so glad I took a chance with this enticing looking one. Once I started, I was unable to put it down and when that happens, you know you have found a five start read. This was equal parts emotional and super steamy.

Tropes:
captive romance ✔️
Smutty ✔️
Suspenseful ✔️
Dark ✔️
Angsty ✔️
Kinky ✔️

”Please, just tell me what you are going to do with me?” I swallow back all my fear and dare to ask. He grips at my jaw, with his other hand, squashing my cheeks between his thumb and fingers. Then leaning in even closer, his lips brush my ear.
“I’m going to keep you,” he whispers, grazing his teeth over my earlobe.

Lysetta is in a huge debt and to pay it off, she needs to steal from a reclusive billionaire but you know what happens to best laid plans. So close to freedom, she ends up getting caught and becomes his Captive. Toy. Plaything.
What confuses her the most is how much he arouses her, loves every humiliating and degrading things he asks of her and most importantly just how much safe she feels in his arms and his home.

There’s something in his look and the way he watches me that actually makes me feel powerful.
It wills me to please him and that’s what keeps me crawling toward him. That, and the secret hope that maybe, when I finally get to him, he might touch me again.
God I’m pitiful.

Ethan Shaw has a black heart which is filled with so much hate and sorrow and only beats for revenge. He only ever loved one girl and when someone who looks exactly like her ends up at his party, he’s unable to resist the temptation. Finding out she came to steal something far precious to him and is sent by his sworn enemy, he swears he’s going to break and ruin her.

”On all fours, Lysetta,” he commands.
I scurry back into position, and he helps himself to a fistful of my hair, slowly pushing my head down until my nose almost touches the polished wood table. “Tongue out,” he tells me, leaning into my ear.
I slip my tongue from my dry mouth.
“Now, lick your dirty mess clean.”

Lysa can’t make sense of the man she’s trapped with. He’s always silent, brooding, calculating and angry. The only time she sees his careful mask slip is when they are together. He’s a man who is trapped in his past but broken parts of him calls to the broken parts of her. They both have seen only loss and that’s why I found their connection so strong and raw and wanted them to heal together.

”I’m doing all I can to make the girl hate me, in the hope that it will be easier to hate her back, but she isn’t playing fucking ball.
She’s too receptive, too naïve…too fucking perfect. Being around her is starting to raise the better man in me and I can’t let that happen.
He’s a vulnerability.
Him, and the recently broken toy that sleeps in the room next door, both hold the potential to destroy me completely.”

Ethan was cruel in the beginning with her and kept trying to push her away because he didn’t want to face the fact that he might fall for her. Reading about his past made me cry ugly tears for him. The suspense killed me regarding his past and my heart broke for what he had to go through even though I knew it was only going to end badly.

With each chapter I could see his walls breaking down and him falling for her. Her innocence, cheerfulness, insecurities, heart full of love, all of it called to him and finally gave him the push to move on even if it was too late by then.

”The control he has over me though, is unexplainable. A little sick and a lot fucked up, I’m already becoming addicted to it. I can feel my desire to please him taking over rationality, and strange as it sounds, it makes me feel powerful. He wants control of me, and I’m allowing him to have it.”

Lysa seemed strong minded in the beginning, in the middle I felt she gave in too easily to him but near the end, she again surprised me with her strength which won my heart. I could see where her insecurity stemmed from and when Ethan proved her wrong with his actions, I knew they were perfect for one another.

”Open them wide. I want to see you spread,” he instructs.
Heat creeps up my neck and my eyes widen. The fact I can see him getting off on my reaction seems to spur me on, as I stretch my thighs open a little wider for him.
“Don’t be shy Lysa. I need you spread wide, so I can see how many fingers you can take inside you.”
“Are you going to put your fingers in me?” I blurt out, sounding way needier than intended.
“Was that another question?” His eyes raise from between my legs up to mine.
“Sorr—”
Smack.
His hand moves so fast, I don’t see it coming, his palm stinging as it makes contact against the exposed sensitive flesh between my legs.

Now to the hotness level in this book, it would be full five stars. It had the trio I look for steamy, dirty-talk, filthy. There were enough scenes to sate my need and they were intense, panty-melting and scorching. The humiliation kink took me by surprise and I couldn’t help but love every second of it. Ethan had some serious skills.

”Maybe we’re not so different, Ethan. We’ve both lost enough to make us give up on happiness. So, neither of us really have anything to fear,” I smile sadly.

The story goes back and forth between past and present and never took attention away from the building of romance between the MCs. Both were victims of one cruel man. There was enough suspense and twists and turns to keep it edgy with steam to light your kindle on fire. If you don’t believe me, go check it out.

I recommend it to all my lovelies. ♥️

Style: Dark Erotica Romance
Story: 4/5
Sexual: SEX-CINTING APPEALING (DARK)
Enjoyment: 4/5
Male: Dark, Possessive, Rich & Broken
Series:

So, I will start by saying, THIS WILL NOT BE FOR EVERYONE. Triggers up the wazu and will be disturbing to some, read with caution.

Ethan, he is a bunch of nah, no, and never. When I first started this story. I can honestly say I was worried about Ethan, I felt like a therapist at times trying to figure him out and hoped the author didn’t take us into cliffhanger mode with this book. Didn’t think he could be redeemable. However, as the story progresses, certain things clicked on the makeup of Ethan and why he is the way he is. But as disturbing as he was in the beginning, watching the metamorphosis of Ethan’s character was a roller coaster ride that satisfied me in the end. (Spoiler) the whole spiting thing and telling Lysa to lick it up, that was a no for me but pushed through.

Lysa, the circumstances that lead her to being his captive is your typical blackmail but not by Ethan. At first, you think to yourself, why isn’t she fighting him more, it’s like she welcomes his punishments and was thirsty to please Ethan. But she is extremely young and innocent and I think she handle him the best way she understood how to, while being help captive. I think she grew a bit, as I am glad the author didn’t try to hurry and finish this story with a simple I forgive you. I like that Lysa took the time to do want she didn’t get to do while growing up.

Buddy, stole my heart. I am kind of glad he wasn’t the typical stud, sexy best friend. I enjoyed the plot of the story as well, especially towards the climax of the story and reading everything unfolding.

Overall, I can say I am pleased by the author’s first attempt at writing her first novel. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read it when I first came across this book as I didn’t see other books by the author to reference, but glad I took the chance. For me personally, it’s not bad, it’s not great but definitely good for my taste.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I hope this review was helpful.

Apart from hating the point where Ethan spitted on the mirror and then on the table for the second time which Lysa has to lick it clean, I LOVED LOVED the rest of the book.

The story was very emotional with the twist of one sided love. I thought Millie would love Ethan back but that's where I was wrong. I don't know why Millie didn't know even after 12 years that Ethan was crazy about him?? And how can anyone marry a person you don't even like??
These two questions changed both of their lives.

When Lysa was introduced I thought she's some self loathing girl but by the end I started to admire her kind heart (she's not strong). Atleast she knows how to spread joy.

Ethan is a different story. He has brutally hurt. I can't even imagine loving someone for 12 years and then loosing them all of a sudden. He's really great to love someone again.

I liked their chemistry.🔥🔥
It was not too long neither a short book but still I would have loved some extra chapters.

For the first time writer Emma Creed has done some amazing work here!!

Wow! This is Emma Creed’s first published book and that fact really shocked me.
But I guess when you have the skill, ya have it, right?

This had a Beauty and the Beast vibe to it and I gotta say I really enjoyed it.

LYSETTA
Lysetta is a very sheltered young lady (just started college) and the book starts out with her at her father’s funeral.
The fact that he was the last person in the world that cared for her really made me feel sad for her (thank you hormones!) but the icing on the cake is when a mysterious stranger offers he a lift home from the service only to let her know that her father had borrowed money from him...and she was now responsible for paying the thousands back.

So, in order to pay him back, she goes on a ‘job’ with a bunch of other unfortunates to steal from Ivan’s rival - Ethan.

However things go a bit pear-shaped and she ends up his captive and from that point on, things get a little twisted...and hot...and wet...and dirty...sorry, got carried away there.

My only issue with Lysetta was that she was a little too compliant at times and that made me irritated with her.
Like, “Where’s your backbone, girl?”. She took whatever he doled out pretty much without much of a complaint.

.I want to please him, and a thought even more disturbing occurs to me as the time continues to tick past. That if I run, there’s a small chance that I might actually get away. That I’d never see him again. And never experience what a man like Ethan Shaw is capable of doing to a girl like me... He scares me, but he also makes me feel. I can’t remember the last time I felt anything.
.

But overall I liked her.

ETHAN
This is one dirty, dirty boy. And he likes to play games, lol.
Naughty games!

He likes to be in control. Always.

However, completely unwittingly, Lysetta fucks with his mind, heart and body with her innocence and pure heart.
She’s so innocent that he can barely restrain himself at some of the things she says and does.
Oh, and apparently he has an “angry cock”, lol!

.There is no chance of it ever fitting inside me, not a single shred of hope. It’s far too long, not to mention incredibly thick, and just like its master looks intimidatingly angry.
.

He doesn’t trust her though because she was kinda sent to him by his nemesis and although his plan was to use her like a toy and then dispose of her, she starts to bring down the walls he’s erected to keep him from feeling, one by one.

The thing is, there’s way more to Ethan than it first seems and his back story had such a twist and was utterly heartbreaking.

SEX SCENES
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again...I love books with a virgin heroine!
.My cock falls heavily against her back when I pull down the front of my sweatpants. I let it graze the base of her spine, before taking it in my hand and guiding it through the crease of her ass. She tenses up when it skims over her asshole. “Don’t worry, little one, not tonight. But, I do intend to own you entirely,” I warn, and she soon relaxes again. Digging my fingers into her thighs, I spread them apart, then bend my knees, so my cock meets with her entrance. “Ask me,” I snarl, the tip of my cock already dripping. “Ask you what?” she asks with a wicked innocence that provokes my dick even more. “Ask me to fuck you,” I whisper, letting my cock slide forward, teasing between her pussy lips. “Ask me to take you, and to fucking own you, Lysa.” Her eyes close, and for a shattering second, I think she might refuse me. I’m a lot of things, but I’m not a fucking rapist. “Okay,” she says, her head nodding bravely. “Not good enough,” I tell her. “I need to hear the words. You know my name, now fucking use it and ask me to fuck you.” Frustration strains my voice. “Ethan, please. I want you to fuck me,” she says, making sure to pronounce every single word perfectly. Placing my palms on the glass beside hers, I press my forehead into the back of her head, and while my cock lines up and hovers against her tight virgin hole, I give myself one more chance to back out. To do the sensible thing and walk away. “Please, Ethan. Own me too,” she begs, her head starting to turn. I push my head harder against the back of hers, keeping her facing forward. Those words just sealed her fate and although I sense I will be the one who feels the punishment, it doesn't stop me slamming my hands over hers and pinning them to the glass. “It’s going to hurt, isn’t it?” Her voice shakes nervously, sounding so sweet that I think hell might open up and drag me inside it. I should kiss her, reassure her, be soft. But I can’t. And, I won’t. “Yeah, little one, it’s going to hurt,” I hiss, at the same time, pushing inside her drenched hole. I force myself through her tight channel. Hear her squeal, and her fingernails scrape at the glass, and I pause, giving her a chance to expand around me. The sensation of her unexplored muscles crushing me between them almost cause me to blow my load. But, I still have to go deeper. “I… I feel so full,” she whispers, her head falling between her arms. Her words are enough to earn her a few more inches, and straightening up my knees I push up and make sure she takes me all the way. Holding myself inside her, I watch her reaction in the window’s reflection. Her mouth open, eyes staring right back at me, icy blue and so sharp I swear they will cut right through the glass they glare through. “Mine,” I whisper into her hair, slowly easing out. She resists, seeming to try and hold me inside her and it almost fucking hurts. I’m about to thrust back inside her, but the needy little creature pushes herself back on to me. Taking me all the way again. It catches me off guard, and I moan at the impact. This is my new favorite place to be, her hungry cunt sucking me up so greedily. I don’t think I can last much longer. My balls are coated with her pleasure, sweat dripping over my torso as our bodies slide against one another’s. And Lysa moans with every thrust I give her. I slam her body onto the glass, gripping at her thighs, and lifting her from her feet, feeding myself into her over and over again. If my cock is what she wants she can feast until her little heart’s content. With her body wedged between me and the glass, my thrusts keeping her up.
.

His Captive is a captivating read. Sorry I couldn’t resist lol This is a brilliant debut novel.

Ethan is a hot dominant alpha. Lysetta is alone after her father dies. Things get worse when a stranger tells her she has inherited her fathers debt. I’m not gonna go into the storyline.

This is a brilliant read that I read pretty quickly. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Amazing story
4.5 stars

This book captured my interest immediately and held it the entire story -- Lysa owes a mafia boss after her father dies leaving a debt she's unable to pay. Set to rob the dark and broody Ethan on a repayment job, the heroine is instead captured by Ethan. Ethan is convinced Lysa has an ulterior motive and is likely aligned with the mafia boss, his lifetime enemy. Ethan sets a course for debauchery coercing her to stay in his home. Little does he realize, or likely accepts, Lysa harbors feelings for this tortured hero.

This story is a mixture of steamy and romantic suspense as the story gradually unveils more of the Ethan's sad history and his gradually succumbing to Lysa's warm personality.

I enjoyed the steady, heady steam weaved throughout the book. This book was not shy with the loves scenes and the hero's dirty talk -- thank you. I loved the tortured soul storyline soothed by the warm, sensitive heroine; the side character, Bubby, was simply delightul. Character development could have been richer. There was insta-lust (loved it), insta-attraction (also loved it), which eventually worked its way through their interactions. Ethan's wrestling with his feelings, which is what I'm sure was trying to be portrayed, sort of inorganically flipped back and forth rather than an authentic shift from dark and broody to lighthearted lover. I do understand his character was suppose to change.

Even so, I thought this was an excellent book, engaging storyline with lots of steam and a happily ever after almost fairy tale like -- oh so romantic. The childhood love, the butterfly theme, the saved kiss, the love affair -- beautiful.

DNF.

This was almost too easy. The characters barely challenged each other. From the moment the heroine met our male lead, she was hooked, line and sinker. I'm not saying the story isn't nice, because clearly there are so many raving reviews to prove me wrong, so obviously this is just a personal preference.

This story took me on a roller coaster of emotions. It was definitely angsty and at times- actually a lot of the time- frustrating as hell. I felt bad for Lysa. And I hated seeing Ethan hanging onto his past so much that it was obvious he was still so very much in love with his childhood friend/sweetheart, Millie. So much so that he refused to even kiss Lysa because it would erase Millie from his lips- a kiss that happened YEARS prior. They were friends (only friends) since they were 8, but at some point he fell in love with her but didn’t confess until the night before her wedding to another guy. They were 18 by then, and after that it was another 5 years before they even spoke again and it was her calling him to meet her and give her one night she wouldn’t forget. Ethan did, and it was the only time he’d “made love” to a woman, it was always f’king rough for him, and that was another thing he held onto years later and refused to give Lysa- his gentle side because it belonged to someone else. And that made my heart break for Lysa. It wasn’t until something happened to her and she learned the truth about Millie and how much she meant to Ethan that she refused to stay and be second best to another woman and she left. And that moment was the best in the book. I loved that she just didn’t accept his measly words, nope, she left him and there was a big time jump before she accepted him back. And in the end I think Ethan was finally over his past and saw Lysa for her and not the ghost of his past, it just sucked it took so much time for it to happen.
This was a really great read, and I have to say how much I loved and adored Buddy!! He made the book so special.

Web-Photo-Editor What I want to be? Who I want to be? I want to be Ethan Shaw’s hope.”

'His Captive' by Emma Creed is a Standalone Dark Romance that absolutely drove me crazy! Told in dual Perspectives , the hotness of this book was off the charts explosive!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I absolutely loved it! There were a few minor odd-things that I found , but I'll discuss that later. Lysa is a sweet girl. The next door , sweet innocent type. That is until she looses everything that matters in her life. Now after her father's death she is all alone. Things get even more complicated when she get cornered by Ivan. Her father owns him a debt and now it is Lysa's chance to pay that off. But she has no mean to do that . So Ivan has given her a task to do. Steal from the most twisted billionaire ever.

That is when things get completely destroyed. She gets caught. Now Ethan has her tied up in her basement , but getting answers from her is the last thing that he wants. Ethan is absolutely furious. When someone tries to steal something from his own house , he is unable to believe it. But when Ivan's name comes forward , he completely understands. Ivan and Ethan have been enemies for a long time and now with the thief in his grasp , who belongs to Ivan , Ethan might just have his revenge.

This was a dark compelling tale that I liked a lot. It was just the end which was very odd for me. I mean they knew who the culprit was and they didn't do anything… certainly very odd to me. I didn't understand the ending nor did I like it. Which is why the less rating. Anyways ,hope you guys like it and I would recommend this book to all the dark Romance lovers out there!

The story of how poor Lysetta ends up as a captive of the completely irresistible Ethan, His captive is a fabulously dark romance, and bloody deliciously written. Oh my word - this book stole my heart and though it’s been over a week, I’m still thinking about it.

I usually write about the female character first, but I’m afraid my little brain can think about Ethan only. Wow. This guy broke my heart and put it back together again chapter after chapter after chapter. No spoilers, but I will say that one particular Ethan chapter (you’ll know when you read it) absolutely broke me. BLOODY BROKE ME!!! What does it say about an author's talents when she can make somebody who should be the pretty disgusting guy we all hate, the guy we desperately want to love and fix. The guy WE want to give a hea.

Lysetta is not a character to be ignored, she played her part brilliantly in this book and to be honest I haven't read many female characters I so wanted it all to work out for. I could read about Lysetta and Ethan for a year and a day and still not be tired of them.

I’m beyond shocked this is the first novel from this author. Her writing is absolutely beautiful, her characters flawless in their creation. It’s intensely steamy (this girl knows how to write a good scene i can tell you!), deliciously dark and NOT to be missed. This lady is one to watch, and damn it I just can't wait for her next book, so stop reading this review and read the bloody book people!

I absolutely loved His Captive by Emma Creed. Lysa and Ethan had amazing chemistry. The story had a good level of mystery and suspense. Not to mention super steamy scenes. I don't want to say much about the story because the author wrote it to keep you surprised and entertained; I don't want to risk spoilers. If you like dark theme romance with an ultra controlling and possessive alpha, this book is for you.
I won an advanced reader copy in a Facebook giveaway, it is officially one of my favorite prizes.

DNF @ 40%. I am not at all connected to either MC. I can't buy into the utter innocence of Lysetta and Ethan doesn't seem ruthless to me at all, just ridiculously kinky. You would think a rich guy like that would have already had a dossier on Lysetta immediately (I mean, he does have a security crew somewhere, although they are no where to be found after she is caught infiltrating) and yet a few days in (and after immediately kinky hijinks) he still doesn't seem to have even thought to look into her.

IDK. This just isn't doing it for me. I can't suspend disbelief enough at all.

It's not bad enough that Lysetta's father had died, but a dangerous man named Ivan lets her know that her father owed him money & now she's responsible for it.  So, she takes him up on a mission to steal from his rival, Ethan, and it didn't go well at all.  Ethan caught her & held her captive in his basement which would have set me off, but Lysetta really didn't have enough of a backbone in my opinion, as I wanted her to go toe to toe with the dark billionaire a bit more to irritate him.  Anyway, they have chemistry & Ethan wants her so the dark comes along as they play his games.  However, what Ethan doesn't expect is for Lysetta to get past his walls so you know, things take a turn.  His Captive is a dark debut by Emma Creed, and I look forward to more dark from her in the future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

So the blurb really attracted me to this and as a lover of dark romance I had to give it ago. So it started off well, I liked the characters initially but for me the heroine was just not strong enough, she was weak, simple minded and annoying, i wanted her to fight more for her freedom, instead she craved this guy, even seeking him out when she didn't need to! Straight from the start she just went along with what he wanted, despite him treating her badly and holding her captive. The hero however was good, he was domineering, possessive and definitely dark!
What really saved this book was that it was really well written and the plot itself was well thought out and really good! I liked the overall story a lot!!
This would have easily been a 4 star or even 5 star book with some changes made to the heroines character.

Splendid read - only when you get to the end of this engaging and captivating book do you find out its a debut, the writing, well thought out plot and life-like characters leaned towards a seasoned writer. Truly this book is better written than some of the more established writers I have read. Well done Emma Creed.

This book had me totally invested and submerged into the fate of Lysetta (Lysa) as the innocent pawn in a decade old war between Ethan Shaw and Ivan Sorrento. While Lysa is naturally a caretaker and submissive and Ethan needs that from her and actually uses her body against her, she is by no means weak or a damsel in distress. While she doesn't fight back physically, she is smart and crafty using whatever means she can to find out what's going on and how to get herself out of the mess. She does not count on the chemistry between her and Ethan or falling in love with him, making her less willing to escape. Ethan is a cruel, tortured dark soul and he really treats her badly in the beginning, but he does redeem himself in the end albeit a bit too late.

When the real reason for Lysa's involvement and the reason she was the pawn in the game is revealed together with some surprising twists and turns, she shows just how strong she really is. The portrayal of the supporting characters is excellent and supports and elevate the plot. I loved Buddy. Fantastic read highly recommended.

4 well-deserved debut stars!!

His Captive is the debut release from new author Emma Creed and, if this is a taste of what’s to come from this author, then I can’t wait!

I have to be honest and say I didn’t take to Ethan in the beginning. He was controlling, unfeeling, a bully and I felt uncomfortable at times over his treatment to Lysa BUT, and it's a big but, by the end he redeemed himself and won me over.

I wanted to shake Lysa as she seemed so downtrodden. Whatever was thrown at her she just accepted. However, Lisa was actually a strong, although innocent, young woman who turned out to be quite the challenge for Ethan. A challenge he needed, even if he didn't welcome it.

I love a good dark read with dangerous, dirty talking alphas and women who test their sanity; hot passion that burns through the pages and a good strong plot that holds my attention.
His Captive ticked all of those boxes and it was easy to forget this was a debut release.
I really enjoyed this book and I especially loved the danger element, my heart was pounding and I was on the edge of my seat!

If you have any triggers then this book is definitely NOT for you.
However if, like me, you like taking a walk on the darker side then take a chance on this new author. You won't regret it.

I believe this is the first book published by this author & I was really impressed with this fascinating dark romance that has a tantalizing “beauty & the beast” undertone set in the modern era. The plot is intriguing & flows smoothly throughout a well-written storyline that has good world building & some splendid scenes descriptions. In the beginning, the characters are portrayed as being quite emotional scarred people with little or no empathy but they continue to develop unique individual personalities throughout the storyline. There is good support from the secondary characters.
It is about: a sweet young woman (Lysetta Carlson aka Lysa) is basically blackmailed by a despicable man (Ivan Sorrento) into stealing from a dangerous billionaire (Ethan Shaw) but then she is caught by him & locked up in the basement.
There is: twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, blackmail, threats, devious plans, humiliation, memories, some dubious non-consensual scenes, some consensual scenes, verbal disagreements, an attempted escape, determination, defiance, contemplation, regrets, compromises, abduction, confrontations, secrets, decision, surprises, happiness, love & a well-deserved satisfying epilogue.

oh god the tears won’t stop 😭
that ending has turned me into a blubbering mess!!!
“Lysetta Carlson... Will you keep me?”
“Yes”
I AM SOBBING!!! 😭
the story of Ethan and Lysa pulled on my heart strings and made me cry a mixture of sad and happy tears. i felt heartbreak, joy, happiness, and pure sadness. it got me right in the feels. my heart was in my throat and i was choking on my tears when Ethan had flash backs and finally confessed the truth. I cried even more when Buddy opened up, he’s such a sweet and misunderstood person. He’d do anything for the ones he loves and cares for. I would love to know more about his future and if he finds love!
this story is filled with heartache, tragedy, love and hope.
i can’t get over how beautiful this story was, it’s the first one I’ve ever read by Emma and I’m telling you now that I’m going to binge read everything that she writes!
It’s the perfect mix of an emotional storyline but with lots of sexual tension and extra spicy dirty talk. i mean Ethan really does have a filthy mouth that will do absolutely anything to make his ‘little one’ squirm!!
if you love a romance story that will pull on your heart strings but will also get you all kinds of flustered then I definitely recommend this 🦋🤍

oohh did someone request a morally grey controlling and absolutely possessive alpha?
Well..... Emma Creed just delivered him with Ethan Shaw.

When Lysa finds herself in a desperate situation she ends up crossing paths with Ethan.
Rather that resolving her situation she makes it worse by becoming his captive.
Hot Damn..... these two share a sizzling chemistry from the very beginning.
But....
Ethan is not only a man who doesn't trust easily but he also vowed years ago to never love again.
I simply had to devour the journey between these two, it had it all..
It was suspenseful, emotional, in some ways romantic, and just a little twisted and dark (not too much).
I can't deny that the whole captive/bully romance makes me edgy. Will they take it too far? Will I not like them because of it?
Well... Ethan definitely pushed the boundaries but damn there was just something about this man!!!!
My heart broke for him a little with his back story, but it was obvious underneath his I can be an ahole exterior he really is quite a romantic. I loved that Lysa was able to light up his dark and cold heart again.
I really enjoyed this read and the dynamics between these two. And.... special mention to side character Buddy. What a sweet soul he is!!!
5 Stars!!!

It's hard to believe that His Captive is Emma Creed's first published book! This dark romance is very well written (minus a couple minor editing issues). The story sucked me in and the many twists kept me interested throughout. His Captive is a story of tortured and damaged yet totally delicious Ethan and innocent Lysetta who caught in the brutal fight between two merciless men. She starts out as one man's tool of revenge and another man's captive and ends up as something else entirely. I wasn't quite sure how I felt about Lysetta throughout the book. At times, she was almost a caricature of the innocent virginal ingenue betrayed by her own body. I would have loved to see more fight from her. Ethan, on the other hand, hit all the right buttons for a dominant alpha hero with a mysterious past. He was so so hot and the steamy scenes were plentiful and extra dirty. I adored Buddy. He was possibly my favorite character in the book! While the plot might have not been super original, it kept me engaged throughout. Overall, His Captive I recommend His Captive to all lovers of dark romance and hot dirty talking alpha heroes.

I really enjoyed Lysa and Ethan's story! In her debut novel, Emma Creed does a wonderful job of allowing us to feel all the emotions, all the heartbreak and healing, involved with these two characters, and how their relationship evolves over time. The backstories are well-developed and are crucial to understanding just how damaged these two people are.

Ethan, being so stone-hearted and cruel, and Lysa, stoic & never allowing herself any emotions- both characters suffering due to their past histories. While it starts out as a VERY rough relationship between the two of them- Ethan and Lysa, both scarred and unemotional- the character development is wonderful, and you find yourself rooting for them, despite those past histories. You crave that happy ending! I just wanted to hug both of them!

Overall, a very enjoyable read... was hard to put down! So many little twists and turns, you'll find your heart racing. Recommended reading!

It’s been ages since I’ve read a new debut author but Emma Creed was a recommendation from a close friend and man was I hooked!

Emma has written a sinfully delicious dark romance, one that left me with a racing heart and a hot mess on occasion! This book reminded me of Beauty and The Beasts story just a whole lot dark and dirtier!! It had me hooked from the first chapter right up till the very end!

Her characters are well written, even the flaws that they have are relatable and the chemistry between the main characters could ignite a full blown fire from just one spark!!

The sex scenes.......out of this world! Literally lost for words at how well they were written!

Overall, this is a fantastic debut book from Emma Creed. Yes there is some for growth, which I’m sure will come as this author develops her craft but for her first book I was extremely surprised at how much I enjoyed it, I for one can’t wait too read her next book!

Oh my, this book is beyond captivating! I was drawn in by both the sexy cover and the very dark, sensual blurb. I was definitely not let down! This is such a good book.

From the start, you are pulled in to the story. The level of detail really brings the moment to life, and makes the captive essence very very realistic. You can feel the sweat, the fear, the anger and every sexy ounce of everything in between. I loved that and really loved that this and the differing personalities really made this book come to life, from start to finish.

The pace of the story really flows well with the writing and the characters, which makes it very easy to read and extremely easy to become addicted to, finding yourself finishing ‘just one more chapter.’ I liked that it did flow so well and that it definitely felt unique and true to the genre.

Overall, a very good read and one I highly highly recommend, especially if you love something a bit dark.

I have to confess that I went into this book with mildly low expectations but I was honestly impressed with it and became quickly hooked. The level of steam went really high really quick and it has a certain resemblance to the beauty and the beast story, but it does stand on its own.

When Lysetta's dad died he left her all alone. What she didn't know is that he also left her with a giant debt she had no way of ever paying back. Now she's trying to pay it by robbing an exotic object from Ethan. What she didn't count on was being left behind by her team. Now she's his captive. He will make her do humiliating things, and what's worse, actually enjoy them. There are more secrets and powerful forces at play, though, and she's found herself in a battle between two giants, can she survive through it all? Will he protect her if she needs it? Can she stay with him? Will he ever let her leave?

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Lysetta gets a rude awakening after her father’s death to find out she is now in debt to a ruthless mercenary Sorrento. With not much to lose, she agrees to a plan that will forever alter the course of her life. Ethan can’t stop from watching Lysetta from the first moment she crosses his threshold. Lysetta is trying to get out from under Sorrento’s threat but there is so much that Lysetta does not know. With Lysetta now in Ethan’s possession, the lines begin to blur between captor and lover as the more time they spend together, the stronger their feelings grow for each other. Ethan’s inability to let go of the past comes back to haunt him as Sorrento is out to destroy Ethan all over again and when he kidnaps Lysetta, an unlikely savior will step up to save her. But with Ethan still clinging to the past, he has his work cut out for him convincing Lysetta she is the only future he wants.

I received an ARC of this book via Book Sprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was an enjoyable and quick read. I did like our hero, Ethan despite our dark he was and the things that he did to our heroine. I felt bad for him and what he had to go through during his past. I loved seeing how Lysa, our heroine help Ethan see the light and heal as they both went through something traumatic that happened at the hand of others. I found that despite the instant connection Lysa and Ethan felt with one another everything happened so fast so I did enjoy the fact that they both had time apart to see what that it was not only lust felt towards one another. The chemistry between Lysa and Ethan was great and I enjoyed the spice — some of the kinks and Ethan’s dirty mouth🥵!
