Sifting Through the Ashes is yet another phenomenal episode from Mark Tufo. So much was happening and we have the introduction of a few new characters which added fresh perspectives, depth and a new level of excitement. We are also treated to lots of Henry - Mike's hysterical and very gaseous bulldog. And best bud in the world.

Additionally, there is also a ton of seriously intense, gruesome Zombie action, which had me glued to the edge of my seat as Mike and his group were mercilessly and ceaselessly inundated by insanely harrowing struggles (with humans and zombies alike) from start to finish. All of this (and much more) combined to make an impossible to pause listen.

The humor had me laughing (as usual) so hard it hurt and I just love this cast of characters - B.T. is one of my all time favs. Thrilled Tripp played a significant role for much of this episode - he is such an asset and lightens up the most intense, emotional situations flawlessly. Always teased, yet when push comes to shove Mike knows he can trust him with his life.

Every book flies by way too fast - making the next one that much more eagerly anticipated. Words cannot express how much narrator Sean Runnette is appreciated for all the hours of utter joy I have had listening to his voice bring this series to life. Thank you.

I think Mark Tufo needs to remove the Zombie from Zombie Fallout.
I really hope this ship rights itself. I loved this series.

Damn you, Mark....where is 16? I need more. This series has led to to so many other authors, but I always return to this one. I have shared the series with innumerable people and have gifted these books to many people who didn't even like the genre before I finally cajoled, forced and just generally made a pain in the butt of myself to get them to read it. Of all your series, this one is my nostalgic favourite, followed closely by Book of Riley. Keep writing on!

It still good read, but its getting boring. I was reading one after another, but now... Its like if I got time I will read next one, but nothing happens if I dont...

Mike is again getting in impossible situations from which he is always saved. In last 10 or so books he want to kill Deneaux, yet he never does. He has not a problem of sending Harder for death, because he wanted to kill him as if Deneaux didnt do it hundreds times...

It was tense when Mikes family died until 2 pages later when Trip said they are not death... So yeah it was again reading about impossible escapes and waiting till they reunite.

And talking dogs? That is just strange...

You have so many open plots, that there sure will be another 10 books. In every book there is something new and hardly anything is closed... Like you add new smart Zees and reavers and for these 2 new things you kill vampire. Which injured Charlie so its third unknown plot...

So let me try to sum open plots:
Deneaux
Iggy
reavers
that strange guy with mobile phone (forgot name)
Charlie
the little zombie girl (Weesley? also forgot...)
Peterson (or is she death?)
vampires?

Maybe there is more... So this book just created new things that needs ending... It is fun reading but with nothing finished its boring.
And what is up with all animals always farting and shitting... I mean come on

Some quotes

Patches’ - poop box

Mike: Trip had got up and was routing through the kitchen drawers.

Trip: ohh slim fast shake packets, anyone got some vodka?

Mike: I wouldn’t swear it on a stack of Harry Potter books but ...

OMG if you’ve read the first 14 books this is more of the same and had me laughing through the terrible grossness ... there’s sadness ... you will love this book. All the stars!!

What were you thinking?

C hose this book based on the first 14. I love Mike and his interaction with other characters. Charlie Dallas and Luara are good characters, but they are certainly not characters that can stand in for Daurex , Tracy or B T. I but your books because they make me laugh and feel happy about this family of characters. Sorry to say, not many laughs and no happy feelings,as well. Trips loss is sad,but understandable.(if he's really gone) Bottom line, felt like just another zombie book. Will I but more of you work going forward, yes, no one hits it out everytime. Fourteen homeruns in a row is Damn stout. Thought you would want to know. Look forward to book 16. Pepa6224 @gmail .com

Etna's fall continues in this book as Mike's friends Charlie shows up with the cavalry based on a hint from Trip 20 years before. Ben Ben saves the day (sort of) and we are treated to several passages of dog talk which are always great.

Deneaux gets what she wants and then the whole Talbot crew is off, albeit separated. The story is getting tiring and you can see in in the characters as well who are slowly losing their resolve to be fighting all.the.damn.time.

Still worth the read to progress the series!

What can I say...

My first foray into the world of Mike Talbot was the Indian Hill series. If you are a fan and haven't read it, you are seriously missing out!

I only give these books 5 Stars because they won't let me give more! I'm 16 books into Zombie Fallout and I'm already starting to be bummed there's only 10 more to go.

I don't know if it's because I could relate so well to young Mike's life in Indian Hills or if I'm just as off as he is, but I can't get enough of the Talbots!

Well done Mark Tufo, well done!

A return to form for Mark Tufo! This was why I loved this series to begin with. So much of the Etna Station series got caught up in Mike's duties as an officer in the military, with not enough of what made the series fun. This is a book that makes it back to the on the road, high stakes, zombie romp of the first 10 or so books in the series.

After leaving off with the takeover of Etna, things go back to the hard days of escaping on the road. Add to that a new monster and an old friend, Sifting made for a rollercoaster of emotion and craziness as those around Mike are thrust into death's rotted teeth. Also, a likeable new chick, Dallas, made for a good road companion. Mark also harkens back to the days of the Book of Riley with his first-dog perspective once again.

Awesome!

Ok, what happened to Charlie?? He can’t be a loose end! And Trip? Is he really, truly gone?
Jesus, so much happened in this one. Just about had my head spinning!
So many people gone…too, too many. But Payne has left the building, thank you. Unfortunately for Mike, I don’t think he will ever be able to redeem his soul.
Surprise!! More zombies, ones to scare you even worse than the smart ones.

The story continues, a new breedof zombie appears.
Mike is separated from his loved ones and at first the book has you thinking tragedy has struck, keeping you really intrigued.
A dear friend is lost...
This story is not ending any time soon. Due to the story there is less banter between BT and Mike but there are enough moments to keep you giggling!

Taking my time

I've had this book in my library since its release. The end is near end in not ready. We lost a main player end in the end and I've left me numb. I can really feel what Mike is feeling in these moments. Now I've got to finish with book 16, I'm not ready for this but its time, I've held on to that book since release too.

I love all the characters in this series. I like the constant evolution of the relationships and depths of personalities. I still laugh at all the silly jokes and long running gags.

With that being said, I am sad that Trip died and Charlie and his group were destroyed. I feel that this is going to come around in the next book, but Charlie’s abrupt arrival and departure is so confusing.

AMAZING!!!!

Right from the start it was full of action picking up right where the last one left off... The only thing I have to say that is negative is that... It ended way too soon! More please!!

Awesome

Another great zf book that carries on the great saga of Mike Talbot. And I absolutely refuse to believe that a certain character is really gone. As always really well written and edited. Can't wait till book 16 comes out.

IT IS A TRIP, IT IS NOT..

Hello, this story is fantastic. Written as only Tufo can do it. I, however, really did not like one aspect of the story, but you're going to have to read it to see if you agree. Thanks.

I just can't anymore with these books and this author. I have read every book with this timeline. From Timothy to Lycan Fallout. I couldn't wait to read more. But I quit! I don't know when this became a cat and mouse thing with him not just killing Vivian! It's ridiculously annoying!

I enjoy these characters, so will probably keep coming back as long as Tufo keeps writing them. However, his idea of occasionally having the dogs talking to each other was an epic fail. Prologue 1 was painful to get through, and a bad start to the book.

It had been over a year since I read the previous book - but it was really easy to slip back into this series, and I enjoyed the ride as usual. Some an entertaining and relatable protagonist (Mike Talbot). These books have been just a pleasure.

I didn't know a fictitious new zombie hybrid could cause nightmares, until this book!! And the amount of tears cried! Great addition to an already awesome series!

I thought it was over. But there seems to be possibilities that it’s not really over. Either way. I love Tufo.
