Kita leaving Sapporo is going to leave a mark on his and Maria's lives, that is if he survives his trip to the northernmost point of Hokkaido.
As I reader, I'm probably part of a faction that enjoyed the Sapporo arc for what it is, a last ditch cry for help, before being swallowed up by his own loneliness and Ayame's mysterious plans.
I love this volume, both in the story and the cover of Ayame in a wedding dress.
This volume was a rollercoaster of emotions. Kita reveals his past to Maria, while she bares her soul and sins. Kita and Ayame finally reunite, but instead of joy, or relief, the reader feels the chasm that developed while they were apart. The once a strong bond of mutual carnal lust now has a gulf between made apparent by the palpable sense of awkwardness that emits from the panels they are together.
This volume was as good as it got, and it has a pretty neat cover too. It's my favorite cover of the series so far.
