Vinn Costa used to hang the moon in my sky. He's my brother's broad-shouldered, brutally handsome best friend. He doesn't know I exist, but I've always loved him.
Until he did something unforgivable.
Vinn's not a sweet boy anymore. He's grown into a ruthlessly cold gangster. He's the most powerful man in Boston, a beautiful lost cause.
I cut him from my life. I moved on. Or I would have, if he hadn't roped me into a lie so dangerous I had no choice to play along.
Now I have to pretend I'm his expecting fiancée, or we're both dead.
I need to walk away, but I have to see this through. I'm stuck...with the monster in the Vinn-suit.
Author's Note: This is the third and final book of the Sinners of Boston series! Faked is a steamy, age gap, fake fiancé romance between a jealous/possessive hero and his best friend's sister. All books are standalones and can be read in any order.

Not the best mafia book out there. I can’t even call it average because really it felt like those guys were “playing” mafia instead of being mafia. Those are the vibes. A lot of the “plot” and “action” - didn’t make sense but I kept on reading just to see how the relationship was Gina develop.
Wasn’t a fan of that either to be honest. The steamy scenes were great, so there’s that, and I did believe she loved him and that he gradually starts feeling the same. I kinda loved seeing him torture himself over how to make her love him - gotta love those scenarios.
Overall - this was not what a mafia books should be like the tension was missing and the plot was flimsy.
A well written, action-packed dark mafia romance that offers a great storyline, danger, suspense, jealousy, a few twists, lies, steamy scenes, and a happily ever after.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Liana was adopted at a young age when her died. And from that young age she's had a crush on her adopted brothers best friend Vinn. He was always there to hold her hand, save her from her brothers. But as she got older they drifted apart, as he's nearly 10yrs older than her. But that still didn't stop her from crushing on him, breaking her heart everytime he had an attractive bimbo hanging from his arm. Her brothers are like father figures, due to the age gap, warn her about Vinn, that he's never going to see in that way. And that there's a guy out there for her, that will do right by her. Coming to terms with that, she does just that, she moves on. A few years later her older brother Michael, tells her that a notorious MC president has his eyes on Liana and to make peace between the Family and the MC he wants to marry her. The only way out of it is that if she's already engaged..... but to who?
Laina despises Vinn now. She back chats, disrespects him in front of his men. She's grown up, she's not that little girl who followed him, chatted his ear off. He may be the acting boss, while his uncle is in jail, but it doesn't stop her from lashing out at him. He's noticed her now and her filthy mouth. Over the years he's become colder, meaner, ruthless, doesn't do relationships, or long term, happily ever after, and he's not going to be gentle with Liana. But he admires her steel spin, long gone is the shy girl who'd try to get his attention.
Until Vinn choses to save Liana from being used as a bargaining chip. They have to fake it, to make it.
Can she keep her true feelings she holds for Vinn to herself? And will Vinn finally see what's right in front of him?

~ fake engagement ~ unrequited childhood love ~ mean OTT JP H ~ exhibitionism scene ~ no condoms/ light breeding ~ noncon/dubcon spanking
No cheating, sharing It’s mafia so expect some killing etc.
Liana has loved Vinn since they were kids, it’s been unrequited until Vinn sees Liana with another man and learns she needs to choose a husband in order to avoid being married to the President of the local MC.
Cue OTT JP alpha goodness “she won’t be marrying anyone but me”. He’s quite the arrogant asshole, especially since he only got the underboss position because Alessio gave it to him. After book 1 it’s hard to buy into Vinn as Boss.
Unfortunately for a 300 page book this story felt incomplete and lacking in kind of relationship growth. At 70% I don’t feel like the Vinn has true feelings for Liana other than jealousy, possession and physical attraction and he refers to her as the best lay he’s ever had. He’s crude and rude to her for the majority of the book. At 90% we’re supposed to be believe all the sudden he’s loved her since she was a kid? While ignoring her, parading other women and calling her kid? There wasn’t enough of a bridge to make that leap.
This book, like Book 2, is inconsistent with previous books in terms of ages and characters. Vinn was 24 in Book 1 and now he’s 28?
Anyway this was better than Book 2 mostly because the jealousy and smut was hot, I always love a man who doesn’t ask the h to get married 😂…if you skip it you’re not missing anything but if you can’t find anything else it’s a quick low angst easy read.

Buona lettura! Valutazione: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spicy: 🌶🌶🌶🌶 Emozione: 💘💘💘💘💘
Vinn has been a fixture in all the books, so we are finally getting his story, and what a story it is. Vinn is an ass and will continue to be that way so don't expect him to all of a sudden change just because he falls in love. We met Liana in the last book since she is Michael's sister and has been in love with Vinn since she was a child. But Liana has finally come to her senses and is walking away from those feelings and Vinn. That is when Vinn realizes that he needs her in his life.
I love Liana for her strength to go up against Vinn and her brother at times. She is a sweet girl and knows her worth. But the love she has for Vinn sometimes clouds her judgment and gets her into trouble. But she will always find her way back because of Vinn and his love.
The things that Vinn, Michael, and Alessio have gone through over the last three books are horrible, unbelievable, and in the end, made them find the love of their lives. I really enjoyed each story on its own basis. GREAT SERIES!
I loved how both Liana and Vinn tried to hide their true feelings from everyone, but Vinn doesn't even bother getting to hide how possessive he is over his adopted cousin. Faye finally steps in and forces them together, and it's so explosive. I could not put this story down!
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I didn't like this even though I finished it. I read it because it was there and I was too tired to dive into something I actually wanted to read. 😆
Anywho... I hated the in love with her brothers best friend trope. I usually do and this book is a perfect example of why.
Nine year age gap between the two and lord it was felt. Liana was so incredibly naive and immature. I didn't like her at all. Watching her get upset and cry over Vinn doing something that once again showed her he wasn't some Disney prince she preferred to see him as was funny as hell. Truly. The dummy never learn and somehow thought he'd still be the softer innocent version he use to be before he went into the military and joined the Family. Hah, dumbass.
Vinn actually wasn't so bad tbh. He wasn't particularly interesting either. His personality was almost non-existent but I liked him more than Liana.
This book had a whole lot of stupid in it and it mostly centered around Liana and her obsession with Vinn. Lord, that girl never learned and wouldn't listen to anyone even when they told her she needed to move on.
This book incorporated the exact reason the crush/in love with an older man/brothers BFF doesn't work for me. Liana being nine years younger than Vinn had a childish crush on him. Straight up puppy love. Hero worship, if you will. Vinn was nice to her and protective of her. In her little girl head she decided she was "in love" with him and therefore began naming their future children and planning a wedding. 😆 But Vinn never saw her as anything more than his friend's sister. Not once. He cared for her like family.
And then Liana gets fed up with his negligence and ignorance of her feelings. At nineteen she decides she's "done" with him and moves on with her life. *sigh* I had truly hoped that were the truth too but of course it wasn't.
Liana was still a virgin when she gets with Vinn at twenty-one. Color me not surprised. Even more so that Liana conveniently is into kink and has no issues when her and Vinn start sexing it up. Aw, she just happened to be his perfect match sexually....🤮
But see, Liana was straight up DUMB. She threw imaginary men in Vinns face hoping to make him jealous. Especially with the seashell necklace she wore all the time. A seashell, btw, that Vinn fucking gave her before he shipped off. Because little baby Liana threw a goddamn hissy fit when she found out he was leaving and had a tantrum so he gave her the shell and told her to hold it whenever she thought him. So of course Liana wore it all the time. And Vinn HATED that necklace because it represented her being in/having loved another man. Even though the man was him!
God what stupidity. And Liana was so butthurt over the fact he didn't remember giving her the shell. She waited and waited and he never remembered. Not until the very end 🙄
Liana and her "lurve" for Vinn was so ridiculous. She had a CRUSH. She was INFATUATED and then later OBSESSED. Honestly I felt nothing when they were together. Vinn was so incredibly clueless he really had no idea she felt anything about him. And he never saw her that way. So, straight up the author forced Vinn into a situation in the beginning of the book where miraculously Vinn sees Liana as a grown woman and suddenly he wants her to be his.
SURE. Fine. Yeah, believe what you want friends.
The great love Liana had for Vinn was rather gross too. I mean, honestly Liana should have moved on. She clearly had no one else to fixate on and she just obsessed over the poor man. It was sad really. It was all because he was nice to her and protected her from Daniel and Michael when she was younger. There absolutely wasn't any true depth of feelings there.
Especially because Liana was so naive about him. She was so upset everytime he did something or reacted a certain way that wasn't how she wanted or expected of him because how dare he not be the man she imagined!
So, see? Her supposed great love for this young man wasn't even romantic love no matter how much Liana might argue differently. It just wasn't. And even after they actually do get together the author used the "past" presence of love Liana had for (imaginary) Vinn to build their relationship which honestly was weak as hell and not believable at all. Liana was never "in love" at any point in this story with the man Vinn actually was. Period. Liana found herself mad and disappointed when he didn't act or feel how she THOUGHT he should or wanted him to.
Sure didn't sound like she loved the man he actually was but was still hung up on whatever prince charming version she had dreamt up when she was prepubescent.
I've got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book would get at least 100 ⭐️ if it was possible! It was amazing. I've read this book in a matter of hours, if I won't count the time I slept.
This book literally consumed me! I knew I'm going to like this book based on the blurb I read, but I didn't think I'd freaking smash the reading time, haha!
Usually when I start reading a book it takes me a minute to get into it, but this book just sucked me right it and didn't let go until after I finished it whole! Before I went to bed (at 3am, because of this book) I was thinking about this book, right after I woke up I thought of this book and I HAD TO finish it right away! So instead of me opening my phone and changing IG as per always, I opened my laptop and continued reading this masterpiece.
This book had it all! Love, hate, anger, drama, confusion, mafia, steamy scenes...I mean, you think of it and it is there!
This was also my first book to be read by Vanessa and if this is her writing style, I love it!
The main character, Liana, was amazing. I mean truly amazing. Where I wanted her to back away, she did. When I wanted her to stay strong, she did. When she had to lower her dominance to do good, she justified it, made sense and did it. Otherwise I would've hated her, if she didn't explain and just did it, haha. I think Liana is one of my favourite characters as a woman I've read so far! She's like in my top 5!
Vinn? Well, I could say so much about him, but I think I'd rather let the book have the say.
Also the steamy scenes in this book were the TOP! Well-written, amazing, hot, scorching. You name it, it's there and of hell, how I loved it!!!
Overall, I have to really say a huge thank you to Vanessa for writing this book. It was kind of real, even with the mafia because that IS how the world with them works.
I really love Vanessa’s Mafia Romances and this is the third book in this series and while they are stand alone I think you ought to read them in order like I did. There is a lot of action and 🔥 and and really nice HEA. Each book has great characters and I recommend this series.
It's the first book in a series I decided to read as a standalone because of fucking Booktok. And that fucked me up royally.
I haven't read any other books in the series and I'm not familiar with the author at all. But why does this specific book have such a high rating?
Vinn is acting like an inconsistent idiot. I couldn't find anything attractive about him other than the classic big bad boy look. It's mentioned that he served in Iraq. I can't believe that a man with military experience can be that impulsive and short-sighted. All his actions are dictated by emotions soometimes completely unfounded. And I very much doubt that such a person should be the head of the fucking Familia.
Liana is just... dumb girl. I can't imagine how is she a twenty-year-old and doing great in a fancy college. Look, I understand she suffered of the unrequited love for Vinn all her life. This is actually heartbreaking because it seemed like they were really close and then he just like ghosted her. But what they ended up with doesn't look like love at all. It's ridiculous.
Vinn seemed to have developed feelings for her the same moment he saw her innocently touching another man's hand. Just like that. He was cool and unbothered with a random chick on his lap and suddenly Liana is the object of his interest. Yeah, okay, he got jealous for some unknown reason and scolded her for sitting with Leo. So she got mad and told him to fuck off. And there is nothing wrong with that, I suppose. He has absolutely no right to tell her what to do and he did not give a fuck about her in a romantic way till the Leo moment. But instead of just letting her leave after her tantrum he drags her into some kind of pantry in a restaurant and slaps her ass... Right.
“You’re begging to be slapped, groped, and fucked.”
The fuck, dude? She told you specifically to FUCK OFF.
And she repeatedly promises to tell her brother everything right in the process. I do not know if this scene was supposed to be hot but there was clearly something wrong with it. Vinn literally showed Liana that he was bigger and stronger and that he could physically hurt her any moment. It didn't look like sexual attraction for me, it looked like bullying.
And why she always describes his dick as something in the shape of a mushroom. It's just... Wrong in so many ways... I literally stumbled over the word 'mushroom' every other time.
The sex scene also left a strange aftertaste. People here write that spice is spicy in that book but I don't understand why he questioned her about her exes right during foreplay. Like... Why!? And why Vinn just fucked her after she told what happened with James. I mean... Shouldn't mentioning of the alleged sexual harassment immediately cut down the foreplay?
The age difference between the characters was very noticeable. This is not the case when Liana learned something from Vinn and became wiser and vice versa. This is the case when she expected him to take care of her in exactly the same way as in their distant childhood. But they're not kids anymore and no matter how much we talk about her childhood crush... This is not a crush... It's an unhealthy obsession and the inability to see Vinn not as Prince charming but as the dumb mobster he essentially is.
Everything in this book was wrong. By 70% I was tired of asking questions like what the fuck are they doing. And what the fuck am I doing reading this.
I really tried to love this book, I pushed myself through the major part of it hoping it's gonna get better. But no.
I really enjoyed this series and couldn't wait for Vinn's story. Liana and Vinn's story was everything this series has been about - dysfunctional dark men and the women they claim as theirs. I liked this series because it focused on the the dysfunction and hyprocasy that surrounds so many of these mafia organizations. The don of this particular organization (even incarcerated) was a psychopath whose actions resulted in nothing but chaos and problems for Vinn and Liana.
Vinn and Liana have a history that begins as children and reconnects them as adults. It's a wonderful story of second chances even when faced with unsurmountable odds. There are twists and turns, deceit and infighting, murder and death amongst the characters as Vinn proposes a plan to save Liana from the MC gang leader.
Liana's brother Michael is a character from a previous book in this series that considers arranging a marriage between Liana and a MC gang leader in order to shore up relations even when his wife was beaten, abused, gang raped and almost died at the hands of one of these gang members. I can not wrap my head around the length that women are used in this genre so that these mafia men can maintain relations between the different organizations by selling or forcing these women to marry men against their will. Women born or adopted into this lifestyle, are sentenced to a life not of their choosing at birth; who become collateral damage for families and men of this genre to be used however they choose. The men seem focused on three things, dominance, power and greed.
Many of these stories are laced with women being murder, or who commit suicide or who are taken as captives in this genre. The expectations of the families and men are from a time where women had no say in their lives; it was all either predetermined or leveraged basically by, men. These men, by no means are boy scouts or who initially care about doing the right thing for the women that are forced upon them.
Vinn and Liana's HEA is a well fought steamy read that happens in the final chapters of this book. Their story comes full circle and brings light into a genre that can be full of darkness.
I couldn't stop reading this book it's filled with love, friendship, heartbreak and happiness. Its about a girl Liana and how she falls in love with Vinn a guy that's older then her she meet him when she was four he was protective and made her feel save. Years later shes grown up and is in College she still has her crush on him and still loves him Michael wants her to stay away from him but she cant. She says things to push his buttons just to make him mad because she doesnt want him to know her true feelings yet Michael tries to set Liana up with a marriage but that doesn't work Vinn and Liana talk she pisses him off he takes her to a room where they get heated ;) Vinn finds out that Nico is out of jail his son Anthony Is still missing.. Both Vinn and Michael are there Nico wants Liana to marry Killian leader of Legion Vinn makes up a lie that Liana and him are engaged and shes pregnant Michael doesn't like it but goes with it when Liana finds out shes not happy but understands she moved in his house she quits her job and school everything changes Killian knows its all fake Vinn Michael and Alessio plan too take Nico out but they pull out of it so the plan falls! Liana and Vinn make love for the first time she still loves him but will he love her in return? He thinks shes seeing someone else but its always been him they get married in secret takes her to Paris they make love a lot cant take there hands off each other. Then it all goes down hill Nico is dead Anthony is back finds out hes been back and is with Rage Machine they plan to take out Legion there were some twist and turns Liana is pregnant for real Mike and Vinn go at each other Killian shows up as does Liana she gets shot Killian dies.. Liana is okay so is the baby the ending was very lovely he tells Liana that he loves her they have two sons everyone is happy Vinn and Liana get a HEA! Cant wait for the next book My review may contain *Spoilers*..

He’s the interim head of the Costa family while his uncle does time in prison. He’s ruthless, domineering and a player. His cousin is his best friend but also a high-ranking member of the family. He has a lot of baggage that he carries, and when he finds himself in a dire situation, he will make a decision that will turn his world upside down. Vinn Costa is a man that prides himself in thinking first before he reacts, but Liana tests his mind and his resolve like no else ever has. Liana and Vinn grew up together and she has loved him since she was four years old. The only problem is that he never figured it out and now that she is a grown woman and she’s been promised to the president of Legion, he finds that as the head of the family now, he has the right to step in and make the decisions of who she will be promised to and he doesn’t want her with anyone but him.
Liana’s eyes were opened about Vinn as she got older and she now knows that he is not the man she loved as a girl. That man is gone and the man that she is faced with now is dangerous and has a black heart. However, when he steps in and saves her from being taken by the president of Legion, she finds that her will and mind will be tested because now they have to pretend that they are a couple, or they will both be dead. She has to fight for what she wants, and she isn’t sure that her heart can take it. When the reality of their situation sinks in, she’ll find that her life has been turned upside down and that maybe their lie isn’t a lie. These two have a lot to overcome and a lot of danger to avoid if they want to have a life, but when they finally figure out that they were meant to be together, their lives are seriously in danger and one of them may not make it out alive. I loved Vinn and Liana’s story and I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more of the Sinners of Boston series by Ms. Skye.
Faked is an age-gap fake marriage story. Vinn lies to the Boss so that Liana doesn't get put in an unsafe situation. Things snowball and they end up getting married. It's supposed to be fake but it turns real with real emotions very quickly. Vinn struggles with the situation because he's cut off his emotions for a very long time. Liana on the other hand has loved Vinn for years, so being in a marriage with him and knowing it's not real to him is heartbreaking to her. When Vinn finally acknowledges Liana is a grown sexy woman OMG things get hot and steamy really fast. His dirty talking is some of the best I've read recently.
My only criticism, and it's a small one, is the predictability of Vinn's reaction to the idea that Liana is going to be married off there's a couple of pretty standard Vinn is jealous scenes. After that small part of the book, things are very original and fresh. One thing I love about Vanessa Waltz's books is the way she takes scenes that you see in Mafia books and twists them so they are completely new and unexpected. Faked definitely keeps you on your toes. The dramatic tension is very intense the farther you go in the book. By the end, you can't put the book down because you have to find out how it ends.
I would start with Arranged if you are planning on reading the series. A lot of the critical plot points of the first two books are revisited in Faked. The entire series is incredible and I recommend reading them right away.
Triggers: Violence (It's a mafia story after all), references to drug abuse, and sexual assault.

This is Vinn & Liana’s (Li) story and it was a long hard journey to get their HEA. Vinn has been a cold and calculating killer since book one when he made me like him for saving Mia but then I hated him for the kidnapping and the murder he was going to commit. Then in Michael & Camela’s story he wasn’t much better still very cold and distant and wouldn’t let anyone close to him. Li has loved Vinn since she was 4 years old and he protected her from Daniel & Michael’s teasing as she is their adopted sister so they tease her mercilessly. She has always been there for Vinn hoping he will fall in love with her too but she comes to realise that won’t happen so she cuts him out of her life and enjoys her time at college. Nico wants to give Li to Killian the MC president as he knows where Anthony is and wants to trade her for info but Michael & Vinn are against this. So Vinn lies and says he got her pregnant so they have to fake being together otherwise she will be given to Killian. She moves in with Vinn and we slowly see him realise what has been in his life forever and he really starts to look at Li as a woman rather than just Michael’s little sister. There were times I could have 💀 Vinn with the things he said and did that kept pushing her away but he was man enough to realise he loved her and couldn’t let her leave him. I did find the interaction with Anthony at the funeral very weird and it wasn’t explained fully what’s happened, that may be covered in the last book.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "FAKED" What a rollercoaster ride this dark intense intriguing drama takes you on so full of angst, suspense, deceipt, secrets, lies, danger, murder, violence, possession, obssession, twists that grab you from beginning to end. Vinn Costa is a moody, brutal, a cold block of ice for a heart, his past played a role in who he was I was hoping we'd get a bit more of that background there was a little bit. Liana was a sweet innocent some what naive young women her brother Michael tried to control her life he wasn't one of my favorite people he was also BF'S with Vinn & told him his sister was off limits to him because he wasn't good enough for her he knew that she was in love with him since she was a kid. Michael told Liana she needed to find a husband because Killian the President of Legion MC wanted her for his wife he'd use her as leverage to have an Alliance with the Costa's. Vinn told his Uncle Nico when he said that Liana would go to Killian so be could get his son Anthony back bur told him Liana was his fiance & she was pregnant they'd feel together for awhile his only way to save her. Liana & Vinn had their ups and downs especially when she finds out what he did everything she dreamed that would happen between them was going to be all fake and she had to go along or they'd both die. I definitely recommend to get this amazingly well written book with a riviting storyline so much happens it's a page turner for sure the characters were well developed and very frustrating at times but all in all an awesome read you don't want to miss. I Soooo can't wait for "ANTHONY'S STORY" in the new "VILLIANS OF BOSTON SERIES" you couldn't put this book down until finished reading with a shocking ending.
Style: Mafia Romance Story: 4/5 Sexual: GOOD Enjoyment: 4/5 Series: BOOK 3
I thought this was a good story and good finale to a series, however, I personally don’t feel like it’s completed. Vinn, smh, I thought he was clueless at times when it came to Lianna, poor guy.
The author did a great job as I can honestly say I love all 3 books in the series. The build up with Vinn and Lianna was so good. Did Lianna seem like a spoil brat at times yes, she is 21, but with good reason mainly out of frustration. I didn’t get as much hardcore mob like the other 2 books as Vinn’s position was bouncing all over the place. Their sexual chemistry was good, but I felt Vinn was a little selfish as he is always being pleasured. Still a great story for me that kept my interest. Can’t believe what he did with James.
I felt like this would be an incomplete series because, Anthony was inserted back into the picture new and improved and felt like he would have surely gotten his own story. I really want to see one with Anthony.
Overall, still in love with this series. Something's I would have changed here and there but was still very pleased.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I hope this review was helpful.
Vinn is such a creep and a misogynist. So you spank (without consent I might add) whichever woman who disrespect you? The scene where he “punishes” Liana feels so weird and honestly gives me the creep because he has shown no interest in Liana and only inserting his dominance over her just because he’s the boss. Liana also feels uncomfortable during that scene which just proves my point.
“You’re begging to be slapped, groped, and fucked.”
WTF?????
Also don’t forget what he said to Carmela in the previous book.
‘Vinn sneered, gesturing towards the kitchen. “Keep washing dishes”.’
This man is an idiot and a loser. He betrayed Alessio (and never apologize btw) just because he coveted the boss position, in which he pathetically failed since he had to threaten Alessio to come back and help him with the mess he created and Nico’s son was sold into human trafficking under his watch. Like I said. What a loser..
Listen I love the premise of the story. I love the childhood friend to lover theme that seems to be the point of this book. But the execution is awful and it doesn’t help that the mmc is a misogynistic jack@ss.
As much as I enjoy the previous two books, unfortunately this one is a hard pass and I’m honestly insulted that it gets such high rating.
Mafia books are always either a hit or a miss for me. I love them but sometimes there is just to much violence or brutal "romance" for me. However I had a strong desire to take a chance on this one, especially since it was a brother's best friend book. I'm really glad I did.
Vinn was an ice cold block that was just to ignorant to see what was right in front of him for the longest time. He had a messed up past and a rough experience in a marine unit that changed him. I don't know if it would have affected the story or anything, but I wish we could have learned more of what hardened him. We learn some but I still kind of feel like there's a big party we missed. I did end up liking him more by the end, cold heart and all. Though I absentee loved him in the epilogue.
Liana was a sweet, innocent, big hearted soul from a dark family. She has been in love with Vinn for as long as she can remember. Her brother's constantly tried to dissuade her from loving him. But it never worked. Even when she tried to separate herself she still loved him. She has to go through so much pain and heartache in order to get her HEA but it pays off in the end.
I enjoyed this story. I loved Vinn and Liana together, even with the push and pull. I kind of wish there was more to the story, a better understanding of things; Nico, Killian, Anthony. But I'm honestly okay with the mafia aspect being pushed to the side for more of the romance and falling in love feels. And even though this book is the last book in the series and I didn't read Michael's book I feel like I could get a good understand of what was going on without needing to read it first. I just love dark brody men and the sweet innocent women who knock them to their knees! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Liana has loved Vinn since she was a child. He was her brother Michaels best friend and a few years older than her. Over the years she watched as he left to go into service, stayed by his side when he got shot and suffered watching him with other women Everyone but Vinn knew how she felt. To Vinn she was a friend. She knew Vinn was part of the mafia but she overlooked that because her brother was too She knew he did bad things but she still loved him. Until one day when she started to hate him. Vinn started paying attention to her but not in the way she wanted. So she moved on with her life. Then she found out she was being used as a bartering tool by her Uncle. He promised her to a biker and when Vinn found out he was furious. So he told her Uncle he was engaged to Liana and she was pregnant. Now he has to convince Liana to marry him and make everyone believe she was pregnant. And she is not on board with that. When she realizes what will happen if she doesn't, she goes along with it. They move in together and try to convince everyone it is real. But things are not easy when you are part of he mafia. Action, suspense and surprises.

Even through the years as she watched him go into service, get shot and be with other women, she still loved him. He promised her to a biker. And he let a Vinn know. Vinn was furious but all he could do was tell her Uncle he was engaged to her. But that didn’t matter until he told him she was pregnant. That changed things. Now he has to convince Liana to marry him and make everyone think she is pregnant. And she is not on board with that. But the alternative is worse. So she goes along with it. They move into together and try to convince people it is real. And then it actually becomes real. But things can’t go smooth when you are part of the mafia. Lots of action, suspense and some surprises. Great book.
Liana has been in love with Vinn since a tragedy left her orphaned and then adopted. Through the years, he became her unexpected protector from all things including adopted brothers. Unfortunately for her, he only saw her as his best friend's sister and nothing more. That is until her brother Michael begins the search to find her a husband. It is at that point that Vinn takes an interest in Liana. With a war going on, Vinn’s new interest might be just what is needed to save Liana from becoming a pawn used to end it. Will it be enough or will they all lose everything?
Faked is the third book in the series and I have been waiting, not so patiently, for it from the moment I finished Taken and Vanessa Waltz did not disappoint. We continue to fall in love with her dynamic characters full of personality and inner strength that isn’t always recognized immediately. I also love the intricate backstories that are used to weave the web of the overall stories. It is well written and done in a way that draws you in immediately and forces you to feel what the characters are feeling for better or for worse. I loved this book and this series as a whole. I very quickly became a fan of the author while reading the first book, Arranged.
If you have not yet read the previous books in the Sinners of Boston series, I encourage you to do so. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but they are better together. They are all enjoyable reads and give great context to the world that the author has created.
Voluntarily reviewed after I received a free copy of this book courtesy of BookSprout and the author, Vanessa Waltz, in exchange for my honest review.
Liana has crushed on Vinn for years. Her brother, Michael, warns her that Vinn will never reciprocate her feelings, he’s a cold hearted man who doesn’t do commitments or like children. She finally gives up on him and tried to move on with college and dating. When Uncle Nico arranges a marriage between Killian, the president of the Legends MC for information as to where Anthony is being held., Vinn steps in to protect her from the ruthless man and tells Nico he and Liana have been dating and are engaged and that she’s pregnant. A well written storyline and captivating and intriguing characters. There’s angst, jealousy, frustration, danger, undeniable attraction and passion. Can Liana melt the ice surrounding Vinn’s heart? I was hooked from page 1 to the end. Loved it and highly recommend this series.

She should really have told him about the necklace soon but perhaps if she had done there would have been no angst to this great read. The characters in the book are very well described and loved the fact that they are all in the other books in this series. Vanessa really does mafia very well and I have loads of her books. The first time Vinn and Liana make love is off the charts hotness and is full of passion and underlying love. The relationship between Vinn and Liana goes back to when she was four years old and she really fell in love with him then and she has never really looked at anyone else. Vinn on the other hand has had women by the dozen and doesn't do relationships. There is plenty of action of the not so nice kind as with any mafia tome but I really felt James deserved what he got. Intrigue and action also dogged Vinn and Liana which had to be dealt with quite violently. Altogether a super interesting and exciting read and I have no hesitation in recommending this book and series to all.

What a way to finish the series, with a bang! Liana had loved Vinn since childhood when he came to comfort her as a child after her parents died. Vinn grew up to become the interim Don while the real Don (his uncle) was sent to prison. Li grew up idolizing Vinn, but he never really payed her the attention she craved. He was older than her and just didn't want the bother to go against her older brother, his best friend, Michael who would never allow the union. One night that Michael introduced her to a suitor that met his requirements, she had given up ever getting Vinn, until that night. I LOVED this book, in fact, I've loved all three books in this series, the characters and storyline were amazing. The give and take between these characters made you feel a part of the story. Liana was a young woman that was pinning over her brothers best friend Vinn. Liana's brother told her to move on. Not to get involved with someone like Vinn. He'll only break your heart. Liana has loved Vinn for so long. She's just now hiding her feelings for him. When he doesn't show her that he cares the same way. She tries to move on with her life. Then her brother Michael tells her that she'll have to marry a biker. Liana doesn't like the idea. Vinn defiantly doesn't like the idea. So what does Vinn tell everyone. He engaged to Liana and that they are having a baby. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. Liana has gone and done it, she’s gotten what she always wanted Vinny to notice her, but now she doesn’t want his attention. Vinny is a complex man, complicated, dark and demanding, dominating and very jealous when it comes to Liana.
When Vinny finds out Liana’s been promised to another man he loses it and wants her for himself to save her from the hell she’d be in being married to a biker. Being with Vinny isn’t easy, he’s all she’s ever wanted, but he’s not the man he used to be. These two go back and forth, I loved the banter, the feelings between them and the steam, but deep down there are secrets and lies between them.
Will Vinny realize that she’s loved him forever before it’s too late? Amazing read and I can’t wait for Anthony’s story. I found this book on BookSprout.
I am happy to finally read Vinn and Liana’s story...it was hot & steamy! I’m sad because this is the last book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. It’s sometimes hard to write a review without spoilers but believe me when I say it definitely worth reading if you are a fan of mafia romance! Vinn had a rough childhood. His best friend ,Michael Costa, family took him in as one of their own. Michael’s sister, Liana, has always had a crush on Vinn but of course she was always considered his best friend’s little sister and totally off limits. Liana has grown up to a beautiful young woman and Vinn can’t resist the sexual chemistry they have together. Dark forces and mafia wars puts them at risk. The passion and danger makes the story an absolute hit!!!
