3.5⭐️ – Jamey Moody’s books are not the most groundbreaking you’ll read, but they’re heartwarming. You have to embrace the sappiness, because honestly, it feels good.

When she offers to accompany her friend and business partner Frankie’s wife Olivia to her fertility doctor appointment, fitness center owner Desi doesn’t expect to meet the love of her life. After her ex broke up with her over her desire to have children, Erin decided to have a family on her own. Her first three attempts at getting pregnant failed and she’s hoping the fourth time will be the one. From the moment Erin and Desi meet, the connection is strong and things move fast because if there’s one thing they agree on, it’s that when you know, you know.

Desi and Erin are both sweet, and it’s always nice to read about older characters (Desi is forty-five, Erin is forty-one). Everything happens really fast but both Erin and Desi are aware of it, and it becomes part of who they are. Desi is this strong athlete type with a huge heart and a very romantic side she hides until she meets Erin. Erin, on the other hand, is strong-willed and holds a rather stressful job, but she’s also very playful and forward. They make a good pair.

As I wrote above, the connection is immediate, and the flirting is entertaining and light-hearted. I also liked that sex is the only area where they (try to) take it slow. The build-up is fun and the result is worth the wait, both for them and for the reader.

There are very touching moments in this novel. One of them is when Desi tells a very pregnant and frustrated Erin how beautiful she is. It reminded me of when my wife was pregnant and how magical and terrifying it felt.

One of the things I like in Jamey Moody’s stories is that, while they are rather traditional, they also surprise me here and there with small twists, unexpected turns. It makes them both more realistic and interesting. What I’m not a fan of, however, is real life making incursions in books, as I mostly read for the escapism it brings. It’s cute that Desi will recommend her favourite books to Erin, and that they’re real books by real authors, but to me, it’s not only unnecessary, it pulls me out.

Also, it sometimes feels as if there are too many words, too many daily life details, but I also think Jamey Moody’s writing gets better with each book I read.

Finding Family is book 2 in the Your Way series and while it can easily be read as a standalone, I always enjoy seeing – so to speak – familiar faces. Finding Home, the first book in the series, is Frankie and Olivia’s story, the third one, Finding Forever, is Stella’s, the third partner and best friend.

Nice warm-hearted romance. I liked the cast of characters in this book, main and supporting even though it sometimes felt a bit too good to be true how the supporting characters with jobs and families still could drop everything to be there for the main characters. Even the kids were miraculously present at unplanned important events in the lives of the main characters and apparently able to skip school at a moments notice if something happened in the lives of their Aunts. I liked the way people in this book communicated with each other and I liked the story. The writing could be a bit smoother. The mix of present and past or past perfect tense sometimes bothered me a little. This was a nice though a bit sappy read without too much excitement.

This is the second part in the Your Way series and Moody produced something I actually slightly enjoyed more than the first instalment of the series - Finding Home. This could be read alone, but I would recommend Finding Home first as it sets up key details about the lives of the minor characters in this storyline.

I loved both Desi and Erin as main characters and enjoyed being able to read progression of Frankie and Olivia's relationship from the first book. It was also good to read about more of the friendship group and I'm hoping there will be at least one more book so that we have Stella as a main character. It was fun reading about the kids in their respective families too.

As someone who has experienced the stereotypical meet, fall for each other, move in, get married in a short period of time, I felt this storyline was written really well. The family pushback was also aptly incorporated. The pace of the relationship was matched well by the pace of the book - but key elements of the narrative were explored in appropriate depth so it was clear why the MCs loved each other.

The ex-girlfriend trope is quickly dispatched expertly by Erin and any angst/turmoil for the remainder of the book is created through life events rather than the often typical desire to split the MCs close to the end just to get them back together. I found this refreshing as it makes the book a sweet romance tale of two people falling in love and getting everything they could ever dream of.

I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys wlw romance but particularly to anyone who enjoys a series about friendship groups. I'm hoping there isn't too long to wait for book three.

I received an e-ARC directly from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Desi and Erin's love story is so beautiful and romantic. Fate brought them together and their instant connection kept them together. They go through so many of life's stages in the blink of an eye,but it worked for them. They have the best group of friends and family. You can't help but love them all. Fabulous writing by Jamey and a wonderful series

Head Over Heels
Erin is fourty one, single and her bio clock is ticking loudly. Shes determined to have a baby even if she has to do it alone. While at the clinic, she meets Desi who is there to support a friend. They chat for a bit before Erin has to go back for her procedure. She is surprised to find Desi waiting for her after…

This is a super sweet romance. Its so full of mushy love and adorableness. Desi and Erin move quickly in their relationship but they are so sure of each other and determined to make things work. Its fun to watch them go from stage to stage in their lives. They are just so happy together and that feeling is contagious. They are so good together and face everything head on giving full support and encouragement in everything they do. I liked all the characters in this book, not just the main ones. I am so glad that this is the second in a series so I can go back and read Desi’s best friend’s story and I am hoping there will be a third for the third owner of Desi’s fitness center!

This was so much better than the first book! The story flowed so much more. The banter between Erin and Des cracked me up. And yes, their story happened so fast and even the characters admit this out loud but there's no denying how loved up they are.

It was just a really sweet story that put a smile on my face. Doggos and kids are just cool, mmmkay.

As the main characters readily admit, It's all too sappy. The dialogue isn't great - feels forced as JM sometimes used it instead of description - felt I was being spoken down to, but a good story.

I received an ARC copy of the book direct from the author and voluntarily leaving my review.

This is Book 2 in the Your Way series and is Desi’s story. I would say it is possible to read it as a standalone but I think you would benefit more if you have read Book 1 (Frankie’s story) in the series first.

I totally love this author’s work and this one is no exception. Desi, (who part-owns the gym called Your Way with Frankie and Stella) and Erin who is a Hospital Administrator meet at a doctors’ appointment when Desi takes Olivia to her appointment. From that moment on, both Desi and Erin like to spend as much time as possible getting to know each other and fall in love.

This has a great storyline, is fast-paced with some great characters (including secondary) and I love the banter when they are all together. When you start reading you don’t want to put it down.

I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, which is Stella’s story. I love Stella and this is the one I want to read the most.

Second in the Your Way series and I liked it more than the first book. I liked that this story is out of the gym the three friends own and dealing more with the characters. Erin Evans always has known she wanted to be a mom. Fearing her time is running out she is making her fourth attempt at getting pregnant. She meets Desi Shaw in the waiting room at the OBG. In an act of kindness Desi remains to see Erin after the appointment. By chance they meet again later that night. It’s as if the universe is pushing them together.

This is such a sweet story. Two very family focused and supported women start a whirlwind of a relationship and the book follows them through the year. Dating someone who may be pregnant is a big step, as is wanting to co-parent. Both topics are covered well. A blip of a past ex showing up is dealt with early and the focus is on supporting each other. The friend group is solid in welcoming Erin to the fold. And I liked catching up with the Frankie and Olivia the MC’s from the first book. The supportive and involved family for both is a nice touch too. Now I’m ready for the ever wise Stella to get her romance.

Listening to the simplest tug of your heart changes everything. This 2nd book in the YOUR WAY SERIES will grab you in the best way. The reading experience was deepened by the real life moments these characters shared. A return to the women in the YOUR WAY fitness center finds life's magical events happening for Desi. The need to take Olivia to the OB Dr office let's Desi meet Erin who is trying to get pregnant. A delightful first meeting story begins a lifetime journey for Desi and Erin
There are tender, loving and totally hot moments as their relationship blossoms. They receive the help of family & their friends at the fitness center as they find a way towards making their own family. Jamey gives us a story so good I wanted to be a part of this family, the village they create. The magic Erin & Desi share is so real you feel it as you read. There are warm tender moments and ones that will take your breath away. This joyous gift I needed to warm my heart reminded me of what really matters in life- Love and the family you find.

Jamey Moody continues to be a stellar author, creating a wonderful community at the Your Way Gym. I love that there are characters in their 40s still trying to figure out life. Desi is part owner of the gym, doing things for her friends but still hasn't found the one. Erin is 41 and trying for a baby on her own. While taking a friend to the fertility clinic, Desi meets Erin. In her typical friendly way, Desi provides support to Erin.

As someone who recently did the trying to conceive and having a kid at over 40, I really connected to the characters. My life is vastly different than those at Your Way but I want to join this gym to meet this community.

First book I've read by the author and I like her style. Her characters are realistic and mature/in their 40's with a gym being the glue holding everything together. Each book stand alone.
Desi and Erin are the leads in this romance and Ms. Moody deftly weaves romance with the tribulations and angst involved with fertility treatments, pregnancy and preemie birth. The progression from acquaintances to lovers flows naturally (with some hot sex scenes) and I happily went along for the ride. Kudos Ms. Moody, I look forward to more in the series.

So full of heart!

This is book 2 of the Your Way series and is Desi's story. I clearly recommend you read Finding Home first as it sets up the wonderful friendships and partnerships of the co-owners and best friends Frankie, Desi and Stella of the Your Way Fitness Center. The secondary characters are really important in this series.

When Frankie is unable to take her wife to her fertility appointment, Desi steps in. While there, she meets Erin, a hospital administrator who is there for the same reason. Their connection is instant and their relationship accelerates very quickly. Erin is a strong-willed, independent woman who becomes a puddle in the arms of the very giving and romantic Desi.

I love Jamey's writing. It's full of passion for life, love, family and friends. There are so many touching moments in this book. The emotions expressed by this author touch deep into my heart and soul. Anyone would be darn lucky to have the family and friends created by Jamey. She appears to be such a loving human being and that's what is so needed in the world today. I'm loving this series and very much look forward to Stella's story next. Brava, Jamey Moody, brava!!!

Heartwarming!

I loved this addition to the Your Way Series. I thought Desi was cool in the first book and she was even cooler in this one. I loved her heart from the beginning, taking Olivia to fertility doctor and seeing Erin for the first time. Just being her,she could not leave Erin there alone and she went back to wait until her appointment was finished. That alone was such an aww moment. This couple embodied the true meaning of falling in love at first sight. With the supporting cast from the first book and adding new from Erin’s side this book was such a heartwarming read. I believe there is another book coming out next year and I can’t wait. Jamey Moody has a way of weaving a story right through our hearts. This did not disappoint!

If I were to sum up this book in 1 word it would be SWEET. Geeezz! So So So Sweet!

I may need to get my blood sugar checked because this book probably gave me diabetes.

This is a very easy and light read. No angst, not much drama, just happy feelings all over. It’s a simple, fun, lovely, and very positive book. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

That said, there are a couple of things about the book that I think could take away the enjoyment for some.

* Instalove – The book is instalove, not instalust (which is a plus for me). Both characters just had this special connection when they met right away and boy, oh boy, does it blossom fast.

* Relationship progression in warp speed – I feel that the way the relationship progressed was just so fast. It just goes from one milestone to the other. A sprint…The Flash version, definitely not a marathon.

* The dialogue – This is a little tricky to describe because I really thought some of dialogue were sweet (oh so so sweet!) but there were times when it also felt a little contrived and robotic.

If you’re looking for a book to leisurely read one Sunday afternoon with honest to goodness characters who are deeply in love, surrounded by really good supportive friends and family, and you think you can get past those points above then you’re going to really enjoy this book.

One of the things I love about Jamey Moody’s books are that they always make me feel warm inside and smile a lot. And this one wasn’t any different.
After the first part of this series Finding Home I was excited to see all those character again. From the moment Desi and Erin met there is a connection between them. It was beautiful to see how the story was unfolded. And like in Live your Life it was so refreshing that the characters were able to have real adult talks. Every step they took they took together no matter what others thought or said. After finishing this book there still is a huge smile in my face and that’s something I definitely never will get enough. I‘m already looking forward to Stella‘s story. She deserves her happy ending and I‘m sure Jamey Moody will find the perfect one for her just like she did for the others.

I received an advance reader copy from the author and voluntarily leaving a rewiev.

Finding Family ... and so much more

Beautifully written novel of the strength of character and love that Desi has in her heart, mind, and soul. Erin’s strength in her goals and resolve was inspiring. The two of them together created a family of acceptance and a strong connection to their children. I loved the Your Way series!!! I especially loved the holistic approach and philosophy of the gym. Strong women at their best. A very good read and series. I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this and all of this author’s works. I am inspired by her style of writing. Thank you Peace

Laughing and crying my way through this story felt so good! Thank you Jamey Moody for this heart filling story.

I just can not believe the feelings that I get from reading Jamey’s works. She is two for two in this series and I can’t wait to start on number three. She developed characters with deep rooted emotions very quickly, gives them a location that is perfect for the story and then the loves just flows. Tender, passionate and full these women grow together and are supported by their sisters. My heart is full, thank you Jamey. Now my friends please go buy these books and read them and feel as good as I do!

Desi and Erin meet by chance when Desi goes to a doctor's appoinment with her best friend's wife, Olivia.

Desi and Erin start as friends and then lovers, going light speed through all the steps, but when it feels right, it doesn't matter what speed you go in your relationship.

Not a lot of angst or drama, just a feel good, romantic, family book. Apparently this is book 2 in the "Your Way" series, but it can be read as a standalone, so I went with it.

I already have book 1 in my kindle, so I'll give that one a try as well.

Good characters and premise.

This story is about a gym owner and a hospital administrator who meet at a fertility clinic when the gym owner takes her business partners wife to her appointment. This book is a feel good lesbian romance but something was missing for me and it’s hard to put into words. For instance, this author used the word “babe” 122
times, sometimes appearing three times on one page (I winced every time I came across it). Everything good happens to this couple, so if you need a dose of that you will enjoy this book.

Finding Family (Your Way Series Book 2)

This the second story of Your Way Gym and what another awesome story and read it was ,This time Desi meet a woman at an infertility clinic .after taking Olivea for a check-up. She finds out that her name is Erin and hoping to be pregnant. When she comes out she looks upset and she tells her it was negative. This is their story and with Desi help and Stella, Sofie, and friends the fun begins.

Jamey Moody's books are always my go to comfort read, like a toasty warm blanket in the cold winter. I loved the first book "Finding Home" in this series, but I think this second book is even better. Desi the strong and beautiful gym co owner and instructor is so dreamy, she is nearly perfect. Erin, the determined single mom to be, is also very likable. The unwavering tender love between the couple is heartwarming, the kind of true love that can survive the difficult times makes me crave it in real life. A perfect friends to lovers story like a queer Hallmark movie.

The Stress List

Erin Evans is a hospital administrator who is determined to have a baby even if she has to do it a.s a single woman. When she’s waiting for the procedure Desi Shaw is waiting for a friend and they strike up a conversation that inspires Desi to return and wait for her while she has the procedure. New friends start a journey of discovery and a deep abiding love. Great series.

Loved it. I have read the other two companion books and it was a great reading experience for all three books. Enjoyed how Jamey shows the meaningful relationships between all the characters.
Finding Family was a very special interaction between the Characters [Desi and Erin]. Also loved the interactions of the supporting cast, (Olivia and Frankie & Stella and Sofia in this book. Read the other two books before this one so got more perspective on the total relationships between all the characters.
Enjoyed all the books.

A unique meet cute that travels an interesting course. A slow romance that feels warm and fuzzy until they deal with a toxic ex and family dynamics. I have really enjoyed this series. The narrator makes the characters pleasant and warm. I highly recommend this book and the first one as well. I will be listening to this one many times when I need to believe in good people and the possibility of a loving solid relationship.
