Holly Jacobs leads a life full of romance and adventure. From skydiving to jet-setting around Europe, from snorkeling in coral reefs to writing while wearing beautiful silk peignoir sets and popping chocolate bonbons, Holly Jacobs leads a life that is the epitome of romance...
Well, my fictional life sounds more interesting, but not better than my real life. Really, I'm the happily married mother of four. I cook a lot, garden and weave baskets! I write for Montlake Romance and Harlequin. My books range from lighthearted comedies to more serious dramas...but at heart, they're all stories of love.
I don't always set out to write a series of books, but seem to find myself gravitating to them. Because so many people have asked, I've posted lists of all my series in order at www.hollyjacobs.com/bookseries.html. I really try to make each story stand alone, but many of my readers enjoy reading the series in order. Hope this helps!
Thank you to everyone who's picked up a single book, or more of them. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much support!
Mattie is named guardian for her best friend's three children when her friend, Bridget, dies. She feels totally inadequate to the task. To complicate matters, Bridget's brother, a successful surgeon, has decided he would be a better guardian. As always, Holly writes engaging characters, especially the children. A lovely story.
This is the first book of Holly Jacobs I have read therefore I am not familiar with her style. The story was sweet , the characters were interesting. The tension between the two lead characters was there but fell flat at the end. Maybe I have been reading too many more intimate books so was disappointed that when they finally fell for each other it was off the page - no description to take me there emotionally. That was disappointing. Just a little would have been nice.
It had good potential but it was SO REPETITIVE! Too much description, not enough dialogue. Some mild swear words and sex behind closed doors. Not my style so I probably won’t read anything of hers again, although it wasn’t a total disaster. The story was still interesting with a slow burn romance.
