While this book is simplistic and didn’t really open my eyes to any earth-shattering knowledge, I can’t say I disagreed with anything the author wrote. Maybe the fundamental concepts of investing are simple and easy to understand, and instead it’s the different theories of how to implement those concepts that makes investing complex.

All in all, a fine entry-level book to investing.

A clear and concise book. Easy to understand the book and explains things from the perspective of beginners. That said, I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner still but an intermediate level book. Loved the contracts in the books, feels like the author really wants to help the readers. Definitely recommended.

✅ Step 1: Circle of Competence – Understand What You’re Investing In
Buffett’s Rule: “Never invest in a business you cannot understand.”

Focus on industries and companies that you are familiar with or can understand easily.

This ensures you can properly evaluate risks, opportunities, and the long-term viability of the business.

Avoid hype-driven or overly complex investments that you cannot confidently assess.

✅ Step 2: Margin of Safety – Buy at a Discount to Intrinsic Value
Buffett’s Rule: “Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.”

Estimate the intrinsic value of a company (using fundamentals like earnings, cash flow, and assets).

Only buy when the stock is significantly undervalued (usually 20–50% below intrinsic value).

This margin protects you from unforeseen downturns or miscalculations in valuation.

Supporting Principles:
Long-Term Focus: Invest in businesses you’re willing to hold for decades.

Economic Moats: Prefer companies with durable competitive advantages.

Strong Management: Look for competent, honest, and shareholder-friendly leadership.

Avoid Speculation: Don’t chase trends or trade frequently.

A book that doesn’t scream at you with fancy terms, but gently teaches you how to think like Warren Buffett.
Reading this book felt like someone finally turned down the noise in the world of stock market advice. If you’ve ever felt lost in a sea of financial terms, YouTube gurus, and 10-step investing hacks, this is your reset button.
Danial Jiwani doesn’t claim to be the next Buffett — instead, he plays the role of a translator. He takes the principles that made Buffett a legend and simplifies them into something that actually clicks.

the first few pages of the book are a little repetitive and tells something every blog will tell you, maybe it's because it's important. but the real thing starts from part 2 and the author shows how densely he has researched before writing the book. it's a quick and easy guide to your foray into stock market.

Waste of time

Just buy 100% index fund . Nt 90% on index and 10% on stock. What the 10% in stock on 10 stocks even you get a high return also doesn't impact much

I have read a fair number of investment/finance books and while this book has some good information in it, I found the advice and explanations for several points lacking.
