Ransom Family #2

Wrong For Me

Rate this book
Rose Ransome grew up believing in love stories. It was easy enough to have faith when she saw so many examples of true love all around her—her aunts and uncles, her grandparents, and the biggest love story of all, her own mom and dad. But Rose’s life isn’t all happy stories and fairy tales. Being the oldest daughter of Daltrey Ransome, lead singer of one of the most famous rock bands in the world, means living a life adjacent to the spotlight. And it turns out dating in her famous father’s shadow isn’t always easy. Leo Malone has one goal—earn the PhD he’s spent years working towards. He definitely doesn’t have time for complications or distractions. But when his summer fling turns up in his office, he knows the distractions are only just beginning. Rose Ransome is every bit as gorgeous, captivating, and maddening as he remembers. And Leo’s life just got a whole lot more complicated. Rose and Leo are completely wrong for each other. So why can’t they stay away?

AHHHHH MAZING!!!!

Rose - the first Ransom baby
Spoiled and doted on by her uncles
Always called the favorite

Growing up in the media spotlight
Touring the world, in a bus, with 5 families, 17 cousins
She is the daughter of the hottest man in rock band history

Then a boy sells her story
She's crushed
She carries the weight of her family, silently

Then she meets Leo. She instantly feels a connection to him. So much happens between them that I don't want to ruin. You will feel for her the entire story. She is just so good that you want her to have her happy ending.

The scenes between her and her mom and dad are so touching. You will love Daltrey and Daisy even more than you have reading all the other books. It's that good!

I loved this from beginning to end. I read it in one day and can't wait for more of the Ransome kids stories!

It was so wonderful to be able to get Rose Ransome’s story; she is iconic in this world. Rose is the firstborn of the famous Ransome brothers; she’s been in the books for quite some time. With her father and uncles bestowing their love and affection on her it was understandable that the attention rubbed off on us the readers and so she became our favourite of the Ransome offspring too.
Rose was written exquisitely in this book. She was just as I’d imagine she would grow up to be. The model on the front cover was also the perfect choice; this is who I could see in my imagination and from the descriptions given.
The storyline was fast-paced and captivating. The author had warned us that this book was long; however, it didn’t feel it. In fact, I wish I wasn’t done with it, and I had more to read!
Her involvement in the PhD programme and her dilemma towards the end really resonated with me on a personal level as I went through the same crisis last year. Reading about her workload and what was expected was giving me flashbacks to the horrible decision I had to make not to pursue my PhD. It was the right choice for me once I’d made the decision and I’m sure with how she felt it was the right one for Rose (yes I know she’s fictional, but the books are so superbly written I feel like these people are real!). The author captured this quandary perfectly and was actually giving me chills as it’s exactly how I felt 12 months ago!
I wasn’t completely enamoured with Leo; I think I wanted someone almost mythical to meet the expectations I had for Rose. I was with her father and uncles on this one she deserved everything, and I’m not convinced Leo was the right fit. I could see what he saw in her but not really the other way around.
Overall, this was a fantastic addition to the Ransome family books, and I’m really excited to see who we get to cosy up with next!

Mild spoilers ahead: you've been warned

First the good
I loved the overall story, felt like a very realistic relationship timeliness, no insta-love and took place over several months.
I loved Ransom in the background and little nuggets from previous books, Willis burger joints, Daisy's mental health, cash is now a hugger (still squeal a little everything i read that)
I love Rose, I love Leo and I am OBSESSED with Bodhi.

Less good:
While I love the cover and thats what Rose looks like to me, I can't get over the red lips... shes a boho/hippie who wears coral at most in the book so this doesn't match.
The hotel room fiasco- i get that we needed a "catch" but that was a reach for me, there's no way she would ever have been booked with a prof female or no, adjoining maybe, or a room key mixup would have better
Rose just up and changes her school plan ?!? There waa single reference to her thinking somthing wasn't right for her but that toss in at the end made me mad, maybe just bothering do 2 concurrent degrees vs quitting?
2 or 3 of Leo's scholarships / fellowships were given to him AFTER Rose either turned them down, rescinded her app or straight up told someone to give it to Leo. I think that diminishes his achievements and merits and made me sad.

Once again I was over the moon when I got the email about this book being released. It's like visiting family that you haven't seen for a while.
I was pulled straight into this book from the get go. That's where I stayed until I had read every single word that was written. I also managed to get have it playing out in my head, in my mini movie.
There are surprises all the way through the story, some are large, some are small, some you may see coming while others you won't. Some may pull on your heart strings, while others may hit you square in the face. But regardless of how the surprises come to you, each and everyone of them hold equal importance with in the story.
Emotions run all the way through the book, I went through each and everyone of them along with the character that was going through them at the time. But I did find I got frustrated a little more than the characters, I will say if your anything like me you might want to have the tissues at hand, I needed them.
Rachel Schurig has done it again, another awesome book to add to her list.
I am so happy that the Ransom family are back, I have missed them.
I highly recommend both author and her books, I don't think you will be disappointed.

This is another great Ransom Family book. Rose is the oldest daughter of Daltrey Ransome and is doted on by all of her uncles and loved by all in her large family. Leo is the only child of a single parent. He spent his childhood following his paranoid mother from place to place and has trust issues as a result.

They had one wonderful night at a music festival in Lake Tahoe, but due to interference, they each think that the other doesn’t want to see them again. When they run into each other back in Los Angeles, sparks still fly, but they are both mad at the other. Rachel Schurig does a wonderful job of weaving the sparks and the anger into a compelling story with a heartwarming conclusion.

Another wonderful book! I ate up Rose’s story in two days! A part of me wanted it to last longer but I couldn’t put it down! As soon as the kids where in bed the tv went off and the book came out!

Her story with Leo is so good! So many twists and turns a really enjoyable read. I was looking forward to reading the story of the eldest Ransom baby and I wasn’t disappointed. I also love hearing bits about the the other Ransoms and reading the progression of Wills story from Roses prospective was really lovely too. Once again Rachel’s writing brought the characters to life and I am counting down the days to the next Ransom book!

I have felt for rose. I always thought she had too much pressure on her, the first second generation to born. Let alone everyone’s lucky charm.
In previous books she’s always tried to be everything to everyone and I was so worried she would break.
But god damn she didn’t.
Loved this book. Have been waiting for this since her birth..... and it surpassed all expectations.
Rachel is always a one click for me. I recommend this book full heartedly.
Enjoy

Rose and Leo are amazing. Eek my heart is happy to see all the Ransoms again. Plan for beautiful relationships with messy imperfections part of this telling.

This author writes amazing love stories that don’t shy away exploring issues with mental health. I loved that the mommas of this story had a message. Both Leo and Rose have such an allegiance to family. Sigh. Soo good.

My only complaint. This story ended to soon. I wasn’t ready to say “see you later”. I can’t wait for the next book. Eek.

Happy Reading Everyone!!! XOXO

There’s so much to love in this book. I love how mental health is a top priority for this family. They never shy away from the hard stuff. They might delay talking about it, but it all comes out eventually. I like how the not so great side of celebrity is shown, also. Yes, I’m sure there are a lot of pros to being famous but there are cons, too.

The story of Rose and Leo was great. They seemed meant for each other from the beginning. I loved reading the ups and downs getting there.

This one is probably my least favorite in the entire series, including the og series. To me, Rose and Leo are both a bit whiny. They are still cute don’t get me wrong! It definitely has that Ransome flare I know and love.
The best part of this book is honestly Bodhi. (I really hope I spelled that right 😅) He is one of my favorite characters and I love him to death. Rose grew to be a little less likable than her baby self lol. Also, love how the uncles still treat her like she is the baby they knew her to be.
All in all, I like it, but it’s not my fav. They are cute and I love the relationships between Rose and her family (specifically her twin younger siblings). Can’t wait for what’s coming next!
Happy reading!! 💕✨

More of the next generation

It was great diving back into the Ransom's crazy world. All of the siblings and cousins are great. Love seeing their parents again too.
