Evil Natures - a review by Rosemary Kenny

R.A. McGee's new, sure-fire best-seller, Evil Natures, tells the harrowing story of child abduction spread over a decade. Porter's actions to take down the child-trafficking ring, bring him into potential, (rather than actual) conflict with Florida PD Detective Lake, after the latter quizzes him about the tortured corpse of a crook left in a house for sale and a witness who saw Porter there.
Lake then agrees an alliance to break the kidnapping cycle and to turn a tactful blind eye, when Porter deals with the crooks in his own inimitable way!

Another intelligent, well-written Porter story, that's sure to win R.A. McGee many new fans, as well as thrilling stalwart fans like myself, that Porter will always (like the Mounties), get his man!

You should get your copy of Evil Natures as soon as you can - and tell all your friends too!

An Action/Thriller with depth of character…
Violence is not my thing but a good mystery with character relationships is, especially when the writing style flows and keeps you engaged in the story.
There is good banter to ease some of the tension or at times it stirs things up.
Porter is an intriguing sort of guy - determined to see that justice is done, if only by his own hands, and yet he also conceals a good heart.
The book is an easy, comfortable read due to the author’s choice of spacing and concise chapters which propel you to move forward, not to mention all of the ongoing developments and action that takes place. You cannot stop yourself from wanting to read more.
Honestly, though, if it weren’t as well-written, I would likely stick with other genres due to the excessive but necessary violence and yet, I enjoyed it because it had substance and came to a satisfying conclusion.
I received an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This may be my favorite Porter novel to date. Porter is more human in this one than ever before. He’s not indestructible (although still one tough dude!), and he’s maturing. Not in a boring beige minivan kind of way, but his temper is a bit more under control, and (dare I say it) he’s definitely more in touch with his emotions. I’m enjoying seeing his growth against the backdrop of another action-filled adventure chasing the bad guys. As always, the dialogue is realistic, the relationships are believable, and there is just enough humor to break the tension without being jarring. I believe this could be read as a standalone because enough background is filled in, but I would recommend reading the whole series from start to finish just because they're fun books. Great job by the author.

I did receive an advance copy of the book, but this is my honest review.

Yep, McGee just hit another one out of the park! If you like strong alpha heroes, superb character development, over the top suspense, action scenes that are realistically choreographed, and strong emotional subject matter that will get any normal human being's blood boiling, you won't want to miss McGee's Porter series. All of McGee's books are guaranteed to keep you up well past your bed time, trust me. And even though I received an ARC copy, I would have purchased this book regardless, and so should you. If you haven't started the Porter series yet, you can read them out of order as each story is a stand alone, but I highly recommend you read them all from the beginning. I can't wait for the next story to come out of this author's mind!

This investigative story is a great follow-up book. It brings the main character into a underworld we all DO NOT want to know about. Child abduction.
Porter becomes a target for his ingenuity and his obsession to get things done. He and Lake, as a NOT by the book duo, press forward even though Porter gets shot and Lake go past bending rules to absolutely shattering them.
Porter has heart break, frustration, loneliness, obsession for the truth, balls of steel and massive regrets.
Porter is a real human force and a felling, loving soul.
With a little violence and humour he pushes through a book that could of easily gone another 100 pages exploring his rise and fall with loves and friends.
Please read this book you will not be disappointed.

Tough guy Phil Porter, works for Homeland Security and believes he can handle everything, but he’s also a really bad liar. He believes people who hurt others aren’t worth the value of the air they breath so has convinced himself the things he does are justified. I found myself holding my breath at the start of the 6th book in this series. I read on, intrigued to find out what he’d get up to, this time. He’s trying to help kids, so this should be a worthy cause. However, he seems to be banging on a lot of doors people don’t want opened.

👌OK- BUT

I have read all the Porter series up through #6 they were great kept me on the edge of my chair with every one, this was good but for me didn't measure up to the other ones. There seem to be something missing.
His partner s were dull & non active, Porter is better than this, he was always a kick ass guy. Good book but not good "PORTER "book😞😢😡
Sorry McGee, let's do it again👍😍

One of the best Porter books that started with a bang and ended with a twist. It has intense action as well as excellent character development that went full circle.
This is a well written series and each book is a stand alone but strongly recommend you read each one to fully appreciate it. Really looking forward to the future Porter books and how the character moves forward.

Porter gets a second chance at a case from his past when he makes the connection with one his friend Lake has asked his help on. Lots of action, done in typical Porter style, and self analysis. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.

Another winner from McGee. Porter is a great protagonist and in this writing we see a more vulnerable side of Porter. Reader is kept interested chapter after chapter. Exciting read, as all of these books have been.

A Good Cause Resoloved

This novel had great nonstop rolling action and thrills. You started in the midfle but you get to catch up speeding down the road. I like Trish don't shut her out forever....am a romanticist too.

A very interesting twisty, turny ride!

This latest of the Porter series is the best yet. It ties up a few loose ends and whets your appetite for new adventures. The best stuff in this genre since old John McDonald stopped writing. That is not something I would say lightly.
