I wanted to see some nuance in the story, talk more about the diets or why Mina left. But the author chose to keep a more glorifying tone and never said anything other than how great they were. Different perspectives could have been better, as well as more information rather than an exact recount of their careers.

The narrative felt more like a year by year recollection of their careers, an extended wikipedia page that could have included something more substantial or beneath the surface.

If you love TWICE, you'll surely love this book as well! 💖

This is not planned. I was supposed to read another book, but I picked this up anyway. 😅 The pictures are also beautiful! And I felt nostalgic when I read the humble beginnings of the girls.

I'm planning to buy a physical copy of this book soon! It is a must have for the fans of TWICE! 💕

This book doesn't offer anything deeper than a surface-level recap of Twice's history. The Twice Wikipedia page is probably equally informative but a much faster read.

The wording is both too plain and too verbose, and it left me thinking that if the author was going to write this much about Twice, they should at least say something interesting. While reading I got the impression that the main goal was to hit a word count, to spread what little information was gathered about this girl group across 200+ pages. It's a pity because a book of this size has a lot more potential, for a deeper analysis about Twice.

There's too much focus on Sixteen, the TV show created by JYP to select the Twice members. And too much time is spent rattling off music show wins. It quickly gets very repetitive

The book is riddled with not just typos, but significant errors which I feel the need to mention. According to this book, Nayeon voiced the intro to BDZ (that was Sana) and at a later stage it said Sana did a cover of Santa Tell Me (that was Nayeon). Red Velvet supposedly have a single called "Revolver," but the single is called Russian Roulette. I don't know every tidbit about K-pop so no doubt there were mistakes I missed. This is confusing for new fans, and makes the book fail as a guide for them. According to Harper Collins, the author Jamie Heal is an "expert on Korean Culture and K-pop," but at a guess I would have assumed he hadn't heard of Twice before being asked to write this book.

Saying all that, I appreciated the K-pop terminology section at the beginning, explaining terms like "idol" and "aegyo". These are not new to me but I can still see the usefulness of this segment. There's also a few aspects of Korean culture explained throughout the book, which definitely help the reader understand K-pop better. And I will admit, I learned one or two interesting things about Twice that I didn't know before.

After discovering twice through their song “Feel Special” I became a fan. I love “Fancy”, “I Can’t Stop Me”, “Better”, “Kura Kura” and more but I didn’t know much about the group and couldn’t figure out which member was which.

I picked up this book to deepen my knowledge of the girls, their origins, and their music.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. It was an entertaining easy read with an excellent sound track. I discovered so many more songs from Twice I had never heard of, learned a lot of interesting tidbits about the girls and more about the K-Pop industry.

My only qualms were the lack of pictures and spelling errors (Jihyo’s name was misspelled constantly. The manuscript might have needed one more glance before it hit the press). Sure there are some colour inserts but I wanted more. I wouldn’t have minded black and white pictures dispersed throughout the text!

I would love to see this book updated as so much has happened with Twice since the pandemic hit!

All in all, it was a fun trip through the journey of Twice’s career which deepened my enjoyment of their music.

An exceptional book that brings you into the history of the South Korean group, in addition to showing the entire construction of the group, it also shows the lives of the nine artists. Everything was written carefully and with all due respect to the oriental culture and the fans. It is worth reading.

Super thorough and great for catching up with their careers and individual profiles. It can be a little over-complementary at times but it’s definitely a must read for Twice fans!

I wouldn’t say this is a must read for TWICE fans. Everything in the book is content that’s readily available, online for free. The only difference is is that this book is too overly complimentary of TWICE. Don’t get me wrong, TWICE is my favorite K-Pop group, but there’s a difference between celebrating a group and completely shilling for a group. I expected exclusive interviews or insights, anything really to give this book a special edge over information literally anyone can search up online, but other than a tone of heavy worship, I found nothing.

My biggest gripe with the book may seem pedantic but I was truly annoyed at how many typing, formatting, and spelling errors this book has. I would expect a published book to at least have undergone revisions to completely minimize minute errors like this. Nonetheless, I found quite a lot and it detracted from the whole reading experience.

Biased and over-complimentary. Probably a book commissioned by JYPE. No interviews, no backstage stories, no insights. Just a written version of the group's public appearances. Feels like reading a high school textbook.

The members are presented as if they were infallible beings - with pages filled with unnecessary praises. I was expecting to know about the "human" side of idols - showing their flaws and daily struggles, but no, the author made the book look a like a communist state propaganda paper instead.

If you are a hardcore ONCE and/or a casual reader, or maybe a new fan that wants to catch up with what happened during the last 5 years, you may find this enjoyable. But for people with high standards for their reading pleasures - find something else worthy of your time.

Sorry fans.

Very thorough and dispassionate. A complete overview of the band Twice and their career so far. Covers all the facts and figures, describes videos, hairstyles and outfits in detail but no input from the band themselves or anyone connected with them. There's information on who sang which lines and exactly which outfits were cute or which were sexy but no interviews and no real insight. I'm assuming this was commissioned by their management as a publicity tool as it never criticises the band or anyone connected with them, no shade of scandal just 'these girls are all great, everyone connected with them is doing good work and they're hugely popular'. Overall it's a bit like reading a textbook.

Five stars for my OT9!!

Love being part of TWICE's adventure over the years & I read this book since they'll release their comeback album READY TO BE tomorrow!!

THOUGHTS
I can write a book like this. Any avid ONCE can write this book but...

The mixed feeling of admiration and nostalgia as I read how the girls started as rookies up until the More and More era is just something unexplainable.

Love my girls and I'm manifesting a VIP ticket for their 5th World tour 😭

I mean, I'm biased as hell about the source material so of course this is getting 6/5 stars. I listened to TWICE's old songs while reading and it really takes me down a nostalgic path from when I first got into them (my introduction to kpop) in 2016.

3.5 rating. I found this book to be a very fascinating tale of the rise of K-Pop girl Twice. I had no prior knowledge of the band, so keeping 9 members straight was a bit difficult. That being said, author does a good job of breaking down the culture of K-Pop for an uneducated audience.

The writing style is a little cringey and no new information is presented. Maybe newer fans would like this. 2 1/2 stars.
