The Franky tales have always been delightful fare for all ages and the newest installment "Franky The Fearless Flamingo" delivers another rousing fun one with underlying premises to all ages. Franky happens to be around when a big mean crab decides to play around with a young turtle. Franky steps into protect the youngster by steering the meanie into a new direction. "Franky The Fearless Flamingo" is also the longest so far and a nice addition to the arc of Franky stories
Franky The Fearless Flamingo is a gently presented enjoyable story. “Franky the Fearless Flamingo rescues the helpless wherever he does go,” begins the book. Indeed, Franky has the spirit of a knight errant. Told in verse this is a fine story which children will enjoy, this story would work as a bedtime story for younger children, or a young reader. I have read it twice today. Children can enjoy it repeatedly. Franky watches as baby turtles make their first journey to the sea. Franky is wise enough that he does not interfere with the struggle that strengthens them. Franky only steps in when a crab directly bullies one of the tiny turtles. Franky takes action to teach the crab a lesson. A kindly taught, gentle taught lesson. The story arch of the crab shows he understands. No longer a bully the crab becomes a supportive friend. I am excited now to read of Franky’s other adventures.
