Can love like theirs withstand the ravages of time?

Gage McAllister, the oldest vampire in The Lost Boys Rock Band, tries to stay away from the brave young woman who helped him recover from a debilitating stab wound five years ago. She reminds him of his past love and he vowed centuries ago to never go down that path again. Only he's constantly drawn to her. It's as though some invisible force keeps pushing him in her direction and his need to protect her is overwhelming.

Acelynn Baird finds Gage intriguing yet dangerous and knows she should stay clear of him. She senses something powerful about him and even though she has dabbled in witchcraft, she's not sure she's ready to discover the secrets that lurk under the cover of darkness. Except fate keeps shoving them together and that old attraction she had for him when she was just a kid only grows stronger with each encounter.

A past that haunts, a steamy desire that fuels the burn, and a passion like no other sizzles.

A glorious summer sizzle with a perfect slow burn! Vampires, witches, and wolves….oh my! I know, so cliche’ right? I can’t help it! This is one of my favorite vampire series and I think with each new story I say “This is my favorite in the series”. I am not sure how the author will top this one. I really, really, really love Gage’s and Ace’s story! And this one is a slow burn. But a perfect…..slow…...burn…..

In the past books we never did find out exactly how old Gage is but only know that he is old and very strong. Well guess what? We find out now! This hawt as hell drummer just happens to be in the right place at the right time to save Ace who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She can’t seem to steer clear of trouble and when trouble is there, so is Gage. He wants nothing to do with Ace. He can’t dream of being in love with anyone. He doesn’t want to condemn the person he loves to the type of life he has had to live as a vampire and never wants to fall in love with a human that he will have to watch grow old and die. Ace is a tough female and is perfect for this story. She gives Gage a run for his money. But when both of their pasts come to a head the story really gets interesting. There are so many twists and turns and craziness that will keep you turning the pages.

“There were so many wrongs to this situation and simply not enough rights.”

“I knew deep in my heart that I’d been waiting all these years for this man. When he ended the kiss my soul felt lost, empty, and I wanted him back, closer.”

Protected By a Vampire will not just be a memory for you. This is a must read and then a must re-read! Gimme more!

This is the 5th book in the Immortal Hearts of San Francisco series. This story is about Gage McAllister a sexy vampire, who is trying to stay away from the girl who he saved five years ago and she saved him. He can't get her out of his mind or heart and it brings up hard feelings from his past. Ace keeps remembering the sexy man that she helped after he saved her. He kissed her and left. She didn't think she would ever see him again. Fate has other plans for these two. This story will keep you glued to the end to see what happens next. A must read. This is the first book for me from this series but it won't be the last.

Immortal Hearts of San Francisco is one of my favorite vampire series. The main characters all live in a huge mansion allowing me to have all my favorite characters close by. I get the beautiful experience of San Francisco without the terrible bumper to bumper traffic. I get to fall in love with the characters and location over and over again. There is nothing better than that.

These books are not a "one story" and done. Protected by a vampire is Gage's story. He may be the drummer in their band but he is so much more. He just hasn't told us much about him until now.

This story was so unique. I loved it!!! Gage is exposed thanks to bumps in the night with a beautiful young lady. Ace is a fantastic female character that is perfect in ways that I can't share. You just have to trust me when I say it will blow your mind.

The fear factor is off the charts. The evil confronting them creeped me out. I didn't expect it. I would have never thought of the situation facing Gage and Ace. The circumstances--total shocker. Like I said this whole story was totally unexpected.

And just when I thought Gage and Ace would have a wonderful HEA the author threw a super large wrench into the relationship. I actually yelled obscenities, screaming that it wasn't fair. I didn't think I could take anymore. Luckily, another crazy roller coaster ride of emotions and all is well.

Ace and Gage were always meant to be together. Even through time and when others would try to keep them apart he would find a way to protect her. Great characters. Great read.

This is a terrific vampire series probable about one of the best that is around at the moment and finally we get Gages story

He is a very old vampire this has been hinted at before but now we are finally getting his story and could there be abetter heroine for him than Ace she is the ultimate take charge woman perfect for such a strong lead. Their love story is a slow burn but there is plenty of suspense and action to keep the stry ticking over It was a pleasure to read

I loved this book, Ace and Gage were perfect for each other, soul mates in the truest sense! I hope Julian & Grayson find their HEA's as well and I do wonder will Ari ever be turned.

This new book in the Immortal Hearts Of San Francisco series starts of with a great action scene that raises questions. Then it goes to present day. It left me with a lot of curiosity. Then a few chapters later, after getting to know the characters, those initial questions start to get answered, but are replaced with even more. There are a lot of little hints so this book should be enjoyed slowly. The characters are fantastic, beautifully written. The style of writing is a perfect blend of action and introspective scenes, and of dialog and description. My only complaint is that the end seems surprising. The clues were there but I missed them because I read the last eight or so chapters too quickly. Take my advice; get this book and read it three or four chapters at a time. You won't be sorry.

I am sorry to say, I did not enjoy this one for some reason. Maybe it was because the protagonists were so stereotypcial? Or the many unnecessary repetitions of the same things (if you tell a reader once what colour a dress is, I am sure they will remember that from one page to the other). Maybe too many side plots? Or could it have been the numerous, oh way too many spelling errors. Or maybe I am just too picky.
I cannot even say that, apart from the repetitions, the narration style as such was bad, it was fluid and did not what I call "stop and go", where you have to drag yourself through a story, and the plot as such was not bad at all.
Whatever it was, I am sorry to say that I personally did not enjoy this book as much as others in that genre. This does not mean it's a bad story, just that I did not like it.

Gage is the oldest vamp in the group who lost his one-time love in the 1500s, Maisie. He has not been in love since. He meets Ace one night when she is attacked by a werewolf and another vamp. They save one another but he leaves her be because she is under 18. Five years later, and one year after Preston met his love, the same scenario occurs~ This time she is of age and they do remember one another. They both start having weird visions of a time past~ Ace always wanted to be a witch, but could only perform a few parlor tricks. When the two start digging into her past, so many unanswered questions will begin to make sense but nothing is without peril when the biggest secrets of all are revealed…what will it cost them in the end?

Great series

Oh I love this series! Gage is one of the great ones...This story was great just like all the others in the series. Gage finds another love but she's human and he has a rule not to get involved with human's. They are ok for fast sex and food but not romantically involved! But there is something about Ace...she calls to him and he saved her life give years ago and watched over her till she left town. She's back and again he saved her life but who is the vamp trying to kill her and hurt him? Great storyline and of course characters are from the other stories. You could read it as a standalone but to understand its good to read in order.

I found this as a freebie on Amazon so wanted to give it a go.
This book was a three star for me, but this does not mean its a bad book.
I found it quite slow and then the last 30 pages everything was thrown in quite quickly: Randolf, the illness, the wedding and the family search. I thought this could have been drawn out to make it more interesting especially as it took 230 pages to get to that point.
Some thoughts were quite repetitive.

Saying this, I loved the concept of the maker and why they wanted revenge. The hypnotism was interesting and well done, it added a great backstory.
I would happily give this series another go.

The past come back to haunt Gage

I love Gage. He is sexy, faithful and loving. He was human when he fell in love with Maisie but then he was turned into a vampire.
Now centuries later he saves a young woman named Ace from being killed by another vampire. Five years after that he saves her again from the same vampire. Why is she being targeted by this guy?
Can Gage come to terms with his lost love and move on?
I love the way this story flowed. It was great to see Gage get his happy ever after.

Gage McAllister is the biggest, strongest, and oldest member of the Lost Boys. Unfortunately or fortunately for Gage, he doesn't remember the particulars of how he became a vampire. A chance encounter with Acelynn Baird will fill in Gage's memories, both pleasant and painful.

Ace is too young when she first encounters Gage after a vampire assaults her on her way home. Ace is grateful as well as attracted to Gage. Age is just a number and doesn't stop Gage's attraction, although he doesn't act on it. Five years later, Ace is a paramedic working the night shift when she is attacked again on her way home by the same vampire and a werewolf. No coincidence, Gage appears and saves her. The attraction between Ace and Gage is even stronger than before. Gage tries to ignore it and stay away from Ace, without any success whatsoever.

After Gage rescues her, Ace wants explanations and won't take his pitiful excuses. Gage reluctantly brings Ace into his world. Gage knows he can't hide his vampirism from Ace, but he can't walk away until he learns, with V's help, that Ace may be Gage's past love, Maisie Grier, who was burned at stake as a witch in 1591. The revelation intrigues him and frightens him as Vanessa takes Ace and Gage back to the day he was turned. The big guy is in for some surprises. The mansion is overflowing, so what's one more human added to the mix?

On my Were Scale of Hotness, 4 stars.

Wow

I was sitting on my seat through out the whole book. It was shocking, smoking hot and lots of twist and turns. I loved it. Though was upset towards the end, but damn what a ending! There chemistry was hot! I felt for the pain that gage carried with him about his love for Masie. He had so many questions. Just an awesome read. Can’t wait for the last one.

Protected by a Vampire

An unexpected attraction happens when Ace, who is human meets Gage, who is a vampire. Gage saves her during a vampire attack. When the same vampire attacks her 5 yrs later, Gage again saves her life. Now the question is why the attacks and why only when Gage is nearby? The explanations and reasons are a surprise to everyone. Loved it!

Protected by a Vampire

Ace had a run in with a man who tried to kill her but was saved by a man, Gage. She wanted him but he left as she was underage. Five years later they find each other again. Much more is happening than they know or understand. Will they figure out? Nice ending.

Good

I like the plot and characters. A continuation of the previous books.
It got four stars from me because I thought it ran a bit too long. I put it down and came back later about ten times. Read this if you are into the series. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with the series.
I do like the writing style minus the lengthy book.

Weird one. Read like a YA. Gage was weak for a vampire made in 1516 or 1519. He really had no life. Sulked for centuries. Ace was ok. I really didn’t connect with the characters. I did try until the end, but nothing. I did like Julian. He was funny. I’m in the minority, but that’s ok. Just wasn’t for me.

Love the Story

I love the story of this book and it’s characters however it needs to be fleshed out more. This is entertaining and worth reading. It has enough great elements to be Harry Potter length.
