On-camera chemistry doesn’t translate into real-life romance…right?
Model Kate Isp never gets involved with photographers. But that didn’t stop one from ruining her professional reputation. The worst part? Now the only one who can help salvage what’s left of her career is—you guessed it—a photographer. The fact that the man in question is sweet, talented, and ridiculously sexy? Irrelevant. Her life’s a disaster. There’s no way she’s going to throw love into the mix.
Adam Crawford’s life isn’t going to plan, either. His ex took their influencer account with her in the break-up, leaving him high and dry. A win at an upcoming award ceremony might be enough to prove he’s more than a point-and-click guy—and Kate is exactly the model he needs. He’ll just have to somehow keep his mind (and hands) off the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen…
Can Kate and Adam find a way to rescue their careers and carve out a path to happily ever after? Or will their picture-perfect partnership end in heartbreak?
Jana McKewen lives in Oregon with her husband, two kids, a homicidal cat, and a puppy who thinks she's a baby.
Before publishing, Jana worked in public relations, sales, and *gulp* taxes. But even while working in those fields, her weekends and evenings were spent writing. She can usually be found guzzling coffee at her computer while writing, editing, tweeting about writing and editing, or playing The Sims to make her characters come to life. On the off chance she's not sitting at her computer, she's probably willing her plants to grow, cooking something without a recipe, making a dent in her 'to be read' pile, watching House reruns with her daughters, or playing with her ridiculous puppy.
Jana loves connecting with readers. You can find her on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or her newsletter.
I love Kate she isn't like most models and I love it she isn't vain, bitchy or catty she's just a hard worker sweet and a good heart. But she having some bad luck and whispers around her because of a incident with a pass photographer. Now shes stuck between a rock and a hard place. No jobs lined up the end of her career until she meets Adam. As for Adam lorddd he is a cinnamon cupcake you just wanna cuddle with.. Yes i wanna cuddle with him.. his problems have to deal with a bitchy ex who stole from him and he feels his talents are well crappy and not good enough poor guy.
But these two had some good chemistry and boy the sexual tension and bring out the best with one another!!! the slowish pinning when they would do photoshoots ugh 🤤🔥 and it takes them some time to finally jump into their relationship. But like every couple they had some problems they had to deal with but good thing they had one another and don't give up without a fight.
Low angst, tiny op drama (ex gf and photographer trying to cause drama), no cheating, slight secondary character, Tiny drama, sexy times, no virgins

A super soft, romantic and sexy book. It is a wonderful combo for 2020, and it was just the reprieve I needed. Kate and Adam struggle with very real problems in their professional lives, and it made them so nicely human, but let's be real, what I really loved about this book was them fighting their attraction for each other. Gimme all that sexual tension! (Especially when tattoos are involved - *chef's kiss*) There isn't a lot of mystery to this book, you know exactly what you're in for, which is why I enjoyed it so much. There's something so comforting about that when things don't feel that way in real life. Another bonus? Jana's side characters! I LOVE CHARLIE, and HARPER. Oh Harper, she's such a spitfire! Her interactions with Kate and Adam were hilarious and cute.
I really enjoyed Adam and Kate’s story. They were sweet and sexy — and seemed so real. I really like how they both overcame their past hurts to find each other. Plus I loved the supporting characters - especially Harper. I’m looking forward to Max’s story so I can have some more Harper time.
I will start by saying that I absolutely love this author, having been an avid reader of her fanfiction for many years now. Her writing is amazing, and she's so great at writing complex, well-rounded characters that deal with real-life issues. This story was no different. Adam and Kate were both strong characters with well explored backgrounds who go through personal growth, in addition to their journey to becoming a couple! I also really loved the supporting characters, especially Charlie and Harper (Kate and Adam's sisters, respectively).
However, for me, personally, the romance felt a little rushed. The 'only one bed' situation happens after they only know each other one week (although nothing much happens between them at that point) and the rest of the story takes place within a relatively short amount of time. I would have liked to have a little more time to get invested in the characters and their story first. BUT if you are a fan of love/lust at first sight and lots of sexual tension from the get-go, you will definitely enjoy that aspect of this book, as well as all the hot sexy scenes!
I also had a bit of a hard time connecting to the characters in terms of their careers - model/influencer and photographer/social media account manager - although it was interesting to read and learn a little more about that industry. However, I was happily surprised to find out that the characters don't really see themselves continuing those roles long-term either, and I really REALLY loved where they ended up career wise in the epilogue!
Anyway, in sum, if this book sounds like something you'd like to read, you should absolutely check it out and also keep an eye out for anything else Jana publishes in the future! I will definitely be back for Charlie and Gabe's story (which I hope will be third in the series)!
I love this debut novel. I've read the author's awesome fan fiction for many years. So it's no surprise Jana's first novel is equally wonderful. First, the visual descriptions of locations are stunning. Color, lighting, and mood take me to Croatia and back as a reader. Those strong little details speak to me as a writer as well.
The side characters are well fleshed out. Love to see good female friendships apart from the main romance. Harper also pulls at my heartstrings.
Most importantly, Kate and Adam are strong individual protagonists, even before their romance ensues. We see small glimpses into who they are as people as their love grows stronger. In my opinion, Kate's very guarded for good reason, yet the more relaxed and adventurous of the two. Adam's responsible and cautious, but shows his love with a single look, photograph, or plain and simple empathy. Their attraction to each other is inevitable, and because it develops through a genuine partnership/friendship, it's beautiful to me.
Minor qualms: And I'm nitpicking here. I love a good love scene. 90 percent of the books I read are romance novels. So I'm no stranger or prude to them. For my taste, there may have been one too many sex scenes. On the other hand, I get it. They're in a new relationship. It's very carnal, passionate, and explosive. I kind of wanted to see something more date-y in place of the shower scene.
Granted, this book has everything. All the good things I mentioned above. It's funny. It's sassy, sexy, and sweet. It's got a bed-sharing trope, which is purely adorable. Picture It is a definite must read of 2020. I can't wait to read more from Jana as soon as possible. So in other words, I love this book. Go read it now.
Absolutely incredible! The perfect romance to transport you away from the stresses of 2021.
Are you ready to fall in love with Kate and Adam? Trick question because you're not actually ready. Trust me, I thought I was but you're not prepared for this epic, steamy adventure these two embark on.
What I love so much about Picture It is that yes, it's a completely engrossing story of two gorgeous souls experiencing love, heartbreak and very steamy sex behind beautiful backgrounds but it's so much more.
It's a story of loss and growth and the childhood trauma we carry with us. Kate and Adam are far from perfect and that's what makes their story something we root for. There are no easy solutions to their issues and their HEA is truly earned.
Another thing I really love about Jana's writing is her impressive world building. Kate and Adam's lives are populated with real characters and her writing is so good that she has you craving a full length novel about even the most tertiary back story. Every character, even those who seem like antagonistic characters at first, are three dimensional and afforded naunce. Which is why I'm so incredibly excited that this is a series because wow am I not ready to say good bye to this world yet (Psst pre order On Canva after your buy this book because you don't want to miss out).
If you haven't bought this book yet, what are you waiting for? Go get it right now! You will thank me later (even if your sleep schedule won't)
But read that I could not put down. It was filled with humor, sexual tension and character growth. The character's self-discovery can even serve as food for thought for anyone of any age that is struggling with why they are *stuck* in their life. When Adam and Kate meet we know they are attracted to each other but we have to wait while it simmers.I was immediately invested in rooting for them to not only get together but to overcome their personal struggles. I also enjoyed the supporting characters. They fit in well with the story and didn’t feel like afterthoughts which is the case in so many romance books I’ve read.
Things that I really loved about this book:
1. The couple does not fall into bed immediately (which happens in SO many romance books in totally unbelievable ways) Their journey to move from co-workers to lovers and partners feels genuine.. 2. The conflict was a surprise and its resolution fit well into the story and did not require either character to sacrifice their dreams. 3. All the humor. Fav line, “Clothed shower. For medical purposes.”
As with most great stories it left me wanting more. Can’t wait for the next installment in the series.
This book has grown to be a favorite of mine, and I truly hope it becomes a favorite book to you too! As soon as I finished Picture It I immediately wanted to go back to the beginning and re-read it. Everything about Picture It is just so good; the characters, the plot, the minor conflict, and of course the romance! Now, when I choose a romance novel to read I usually pick one with a good plot and characters I can love with just the right amount of angst...Picture It has all of that. I lost myself in this book. The descriptions of the characters and locations are incredibly detailed. Jana’s descriptive writing paints a vivid picture, you can close your eyes and picture the scenes in your mind. It’s incredible and I am already anticipating the second book in the series! Picture It has so much heart. The world is a crazy place right now and this book will provide you with a tiny bit of comfort that we all need.
Finally picked up this book from my shelf one cloudy Sunday morning. It was sitting there for an embarrassing amount of time, but the again, time is a very relative term, as this year seems to keep proving us. I was supposed to read a few chapters and then go on with my chores, but ended up devouring most of it in one go (finished the same day after lunch). It made me cry, made me laugh, made me smile a lot. Kate and Adam are such soft characters, but expect this story to take a few intensely HOT turns because these two (adorable) idiots are also trying to not act on their (very mutual) (very strong) attraction to each other. This was a delightful read and I'd recommend this book to anyone needing a little escape from the reality that is this whole year.
P.S. a special shout out to the author for choosing my tiny little country for her characters' first trip. You don't often see familiar towns and places in a book written on the other side of the world :)
Loved it! Kate and Adam are wonderful characters and I was rooting for them right from the start. Adam is such a gentleman and understanding, but also flawed (aren’t we all) with issues with his self worth and lack of faith in his talent . Kate has a huge heart and she is very loving, but doesn’t let people to get really close to her. I enjoyed their self discovery while they were falling in love. Also their chemistry was scorching hot! The mutual pining is so my cup of tea and when they got together it was so hot and actually got even hotter later. Whew! I also really enjoyed the other characters, Harper being my favorite. This was totally my kind of romance and will read it over and over again. I really hope there will be more in this series.

Picture It (Scorching Internet Connections) was such a good read. Adam and Kate are both trying to restart their careers (he as a photographer and she as a model) after some professional & personal disasters. They decide to team together as influencers but they found so much more.
This is fast-paced, steamy and emotional read that had a bit of drama that kept me engrossed. It had some serious character growth as both Adam and Kate had to really look deep inside to see what they really wanted in life. I devoured this book quickly and that ending!!!! So good.
I’m invested now in the secondary characters and cannot wait for Max’s book...that teaser at the end of Picture It hooked me completely.
The world is a dumpster fire right now, and fiction is a great escape. Picture It is the perfect blend of soft and comforting, steamy and sexy. The characters are intriguing and well-developed and even the side characters leave you wanting to know more about them. If you want to escape the world and surround yourself with good feelings, this is a fantastic option. I've struggled for years to focus long enough to read an entire book again (thanks, grad school), but Jana's writing pulls you in and doesn't let you put the book down until you're finished. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
The book perfectly mix sweet with hot, with just a tad of angst and two protagonists well developed in their character. The story, whilst maybe is a little bit too straightforward, flows easily and it hook you from the first page. I read it in one afternoon! I recommended it in this autumn time, where you just want to escape the real word and relax with a tea and a good book. This is the good book.
Wow, I've been following Jana's writing for years. Her fanfics have touched my heart and she has sonw it again with Picture It.
I couldn't put this book down, the characters were real with all their flaws but also with their kindness. I felt their emotions as if they were my own.
I am picky reader however I love this book. And highly reccomend it. Side note, this will be a book I read more than once.
This book kept my interest, even though I haven’t read much in this genre. This was a pick from a member of a book club I belong to. The author joined our discussion which was really cool. I got to understand her creative process and she gave us an education about fan fiction and some challenges that went into getting the book published. She was a delight!! The story was well done and the characters were likable. I was rooting for Kate and Adam!
Sweet, sexy and HOT are how I would describe Kate and Adam and their story. I love their journey on becoming a couple but also loved that you were taken through their individual vulnerabilities and journeys as well...and bonus, the supporting characters are fun and intriguing too!!(hello Harper and Charlie!)
If you’re looking for a fun contemporary romance this is a must get!
Adam and Kate are struggling in their work-life and when they meet they're both fighting their attraction because they want to focus on what was taken from them. It's a slow-insta burn story with a pull and tug between the characters, great chemistry, good characters, and an easy read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was a breath of fresh air and I absolutely loved it!
This is a wonderful story that I promise you will not be able to put down until you reach the last page. I was hooked from the first page and could not put this story down. A wonderful, feel-good story. This book was a breath of fresh air and I absolutely loved it! Happy reading everyone!!
A wonderful escape from reality that is very much needed in 2020! A novel plot, compelling characters, and narrative voices that have you hooked from the get-go. The main characters are nuanced and interesting, and the supporting characters are just as compelling and wonderful. Loved every word and would highly recommend, a beautiful read to put a lasting smile on your face!
The story of Adam and Kate is easy to get lost in. The characters are well thought out and easy to love. This is a great world to visit and the adventure relates to very real issues. A great start to a series I look forward to being in. #HeresToANewAdventure
This is such a wonderful read! The leads are so likable, their chemistry is scorching, and I bought into the love story from page one. If you’re looking for an escape from real life via an excellent romance novel, I highly recommend you try this!
I haven't read anything much since the start of the pandemic so it was hard to just sit down and read - this is such an easy and pleasurable story, it kept my attention and I really enjoyed it.
Kate and Adam are wonderful, and the angst was perfect.
I love this book; it’s a great, steamy read. Picture It has well-rounded characters that come to life and are easy to root for. Watching Adam and Kate fall in love is fun and enjoyable. A must read for romance lovers.
Super wholesome and relatable. Characters were likeable and totally as chaotic in a new relationship as most of us are. Some bad ass side characters (namely Charlie and Harper!). All in all a great read.
