Melanie has a problem and that problem’s name is Logan Graham.
She’s loved him for as long as she can remember even though he drives her crazy at times. For years, his job took him away from Cedarville weeks and months at a time, allowing her to put him out of her mind and live her life.
She’s happy.
Content.
And trying to move on.
But now he’s back, and this time he plans to stay, making her long for things she knows she can’t have.
Or could she?
It seems like maybe, just maybe he feels the same way about her. Making her question everything. Turned on more than ever she wonders why now?
Return to Cedarville in this fun, sexy new story about friendship, love and everything in between.
This is the second book in the Cedarville series. I would read book one first just because it is what starts the whole series and you get back story etc. Melanie has been in love with Logan forever. For years his job has taken him away from Cedarville so she's been able to suppress her feelings and push them down. She's very happy and content and running a dance studio in town with her two friends. But now Logan is back and she doesn't know how she is supposed to keep her thoughts and feelings to herself. Apparently now he is tired of traveling and wants to settle in Cedarville and has plans to stay permanently. And his feelings have grown to more than friendship. It leaves Melanie wanting things she is not sure she can have and longing for a relationship that may or may not be possible. This was the second book I have read from this author. I love her writing style and her character's development. It is so easy to read her books and then realize you only have about 30 mins left before you have finished the book. Yes that really happened! My favorite part of the book is probably a spoiler and since I hate those I'll just say that the first date is my favorite lol. Some of the things that come out of the friends mouths are funny and I found myself chuckling a little. I also like how it hints that there will be another book in the series and I am looking forward to reading it.
It seemed this story should have been a novella. The problems (preventing the two from being together) created by the author for our MCs were extremely contrived for people who are supposed to be late-20s. I don’t buy it. They were both stupidly clueless until they had a step-by-step “talk it out” with a friend or family member. 🙄 Also, some of the situations they found themselves in were eye-rolling and not likely to occur like what played out in the story. I don’t buy it. Also, the way they spoke was as if they each played rolls as parents to the advice-seeker, rather than the way friends and family of similar age talk to each other. The conversations were kind of stilted with little but-in to the emotions of the characters and the concern I’m supposed to feel. Here’s a hint: I feel zero concern; I have zero buy-in. Couldn’t care less.
This is the second book of the Cedarville series. I do believe you should read the first book before reading this one because there's lot of this story that stems off of the first book. You would be lost if you don't read the first book. You will also love the first book about Leah and Brandon. This is the story of Melanie and Logan's way to love. I was in love with this book from the first page. I was so glued to this story I finished it in one day.
Melanie is a beautiful and sweetest person you will ever meet. She loves her friends and family but her studio is her life. She had been a dancer since she could walk. She loves her life but there is one thing that is missing Logan. She has been in love with him since she was a little girl. Her friend is in a real relationship with his older brother and she wished Logan would see her like that. She had always been Logan's good friend because she never thought Logan would ever love her the same. Will she finally tell him that she's been in love with him or will she keep him as a friend?
Logan is a sexy photographer that travels a lot for his job. He is also Brandon’s little brother. One day he decided that he wants to stay at home for good. He always had feelings for Melanie but did not know what they meant. It takes a horrible thing that happens to her that makes him realize he is in love with her. He tries to get close to her but she just pushes him away at first. Logan starts to prove to Melanie that his feeling for her are real and deep. They both decided to give their relationship a try. Everything is perfect until something that was a nice gesture at the time ends up breaking trust. Will they get through this or will this be their breaking point?
I love Logan and Melanie they are such a sweet couple. They had some tests in their relationship but their love was more strong. Logan was a sweet guy that was in love and he proved it to her. Melanie was a sweet girl that had a little sas which I loved. You also got to read about the other characters and how they are doing plus a new relationship starts to bloom. I can not wait to see what Bree will bring us next.
Melanie has loved Logan for a long time but never told him if anything lately she's been extra cranky towards him to try and push him away. Every time she see him her body can't help but react to him she wants him bad but shes just not sure how to approach him, Melanie is normally in control of things and straight to the point but with Logan she not as confident at first. When Logan gets a offer to work away again on assignment with his photography that give Melanie the push she needs to tell him how she really feels but things don't go to plan. Ever since Mel was attacked Logan realised there was more to them friendship it shocked the hell out of him to think all this time they could have been more but deep down he knows he wouldn't of been ready especially considering he would have been away a lot with work so then wouldn’t of been the right time. Logan has been thinking recently that he no longer wants to travel but when what he originally has planned goes through he decide to do one more assignment away but hes in a complete shock when he finds out just before he's leaving that Mel has had feelings for him for all this time not sure what to do with all this new information he still goes hoping that Mel won't hate him to much when he gets back. Will Melanie forgive Logan? Will they get together? Do they get there happy ever after……. I loved Melanie’s and logans story it was amazing the connection they have between them was beautiful and seeing feelings come light was wonderful to read plus the characters themselves have awesome personalities I felt I could really connect with them. The story had you right from the beginning had such a lovely flow to it. I have loved the Cedarville series so far you can read them as standalone but they ate better to read as a series so you don't miss out on history with the characters amazing.
Capturing Us is book two in the Cedarville Novel series. If you choose to read this without reading book one, An Unexpected Home, you will be confused and will have missed out on a great story! Capturing Us is about Logan and Melanie. These two have known each other forever and have loved each other just as long. Except they didn’t know the other felt the same way.
When you smile the entire time you’re reading, you know it’s an amazing book. While there was no crazy ex, or any real danger in this story, Logan and Melanie have to overcome their own feelings and thoughts of “will I be good enough” and “does he/she really want me”.
There is a lot of sexual situations, tension and innuendos in this story. Which makes for great reading and laugh out loud moments! This is really a love story. If only Logan and Melanie can get their acts together. They are definitely learning how to get along and have more than just a friend relationship.
“I don’t have all the answers. Hell, I probably never will but I do know that together you and I are stronger. And we can do this. Let’s let love win just this once.”
Bree Kraemer does a great job of keeping this couple so believable and real. Many situations reminded me of my husband and myself! Meatloaf for dinner…check. Fascination over breasts…check. Wanting to just be able to simply touch the other…check.
“Needing to feel him, she slid her leg over toward the middle of the bed until she made contact with his calf. It was then that her body relaxed. Somehow touching him, even that small touch, made everything better.”
I really loved the writing style and storyline from Bree Kraemer and the antics of her characters. I highly recommend you one click this book!
This is book two in the Cedarville series. You don't have to read book one but I would suggest it. You'll have the back story to this book and book one was excellent. Capturing Us focuses on the relationship between Melanie and Logan. Melanie has been in love with Logan for as long as she can remember. With Logan’s job taking him away from Cedarville for weeks and months at a time, Melanie would suppress her feelings and live her life. She's had her experiences and went on dates. Now Logan has returned to Cedarville for good and Melanie doesn't know how to cope with her feelings. They are coming to the surface and she doesn't know how to hide them anymore.
Ever since Logan found Melanie on the floor after the break in in her house, he realized his feelings are more than just friendship. He doesn't know what he would have done if she had been seriously hurt. He wouldn't be able to live without her. He can't go a day without seeing her. Yet since the break in, Melanie has been acting like she hates him. Logan’s so confused. They finally admit their feelings to each other and embark on a romantic relationship. As in any new relationship, there are trust issues and communication problems. Even though they have been friends forever, these are new issues because they are starting a life together.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are wonderful and the dynamics between them is comforting. They are a close knit group who are there for each other whether they need help or they are making fun of one another. They are funny. This is another book that thrilled me from this author. I'm looking forward to reading more from her.
Capturing Us is the perfect title for a book like this one. I was still enraptured from the first book in this series and this just solidified that I will be a fan of Bree Kraemer for a long time to come. This was a great romantic read that will capture you, mind body and soul. We pick up with the drama from the first book in a small town that seems more like home than the city I live in. There are so many things in this book that make it a four-star read for me that I don’t know where to start, maybe the tension that these two create. They are a ball of sexual energy that threatens to combust but they are still able to create an amazing bond that is sweet and refreshing. I guess that’s what you get when you love your best friend. This story follows Melanie and Logan who have known each other forever and is seems that they have loved each other for just as long, they just didn’t know it. Melanie owns the local dance studio, happy to be around her family and to be working with her best friend. Logan is a n amazing photographer that just wants a place to call home. When he decides to stay in his home town and stop traveling to focus on what makes him happy he sets his sights on Melanie and they will never be the same. But will he be happy giving up the jet set lifestyle? Will they finally see what everyone else already knows? This did not end on a cliffhanger but it might as well have. Yes, we have some resolution, but with these couples, I know that there is more ahead and that means more books to read. That all makes me very happy. If you can decide anything based on history, then the next book is going to be even better than the previous two and I can’t wait to dig in.
Capturing Us by Bree Kraemer is the second book in the series A Cedarville Novels. This story is about finding what is in front you of the whole time. This story is excitement, compassion and love. This story will show you that sometimes to find what you are looking for you just need to open your eyes to find it.
Melanie is a young woman who is part owner of a dancing business. She is happy and content with her life then he comes back to town. For as long as she can remember she has always loved him. Will he stay this time? She wants marriage, children the whole nine yards, but does he? He has plans but does it include her? Will she move on?
Logan Graham is a man who has a job that takes hims away for weeks and months at a time. When he comes home this time, he has a plan to stay. Will he follow his plans? Will he see what is right in front of him? Will he realize that he is enough for her? He thinks she is always angry with him but is she really?
Melanie and Logan's story is one of friendship, love and everything in between. Their story will pull you in and take you right along with them. Will they finally see what everyone else does? Will they have a future together? When a chance comes up for their futures to go in separate directions, will they take it? Will they find each other?
This is my second read by Bree Kraemer. Bree lives in Ohio with her husband and three children. She writes her stories with either a lot of hot steamy sex or sometimes a little. This is a great love story that will have you on your seat and will make you want to keep reading until the end. I highly suggest this story as I know you will love these characters as much as I do.

Capturing Us, book 2 in the Cedarville series was a great 5 star read.
I was super excited to finally get to read Melanie and Logan’s story.
Melanie was living her dream at Juilliard until one day a dance accident ended her career. She has since returned to Cedarville and has opened a dance studio with her two friends Carly and Leah.
Melanie has been in love with Logan for years but has been trying to push her feelings away. Now that he is back in Cedarville she has been nothing but frustrated with him. When Melanie had been injured during a break in, something shifted between Melanie and Logan. She can’t quite figure it out. In her mind, there was no other way to explain his sudden interest in her.
Logan can’t get Melanie out of his mind ever since the attack. He realizes that she has been the person that he has missed the most when he traveled. Could she have been the reason he moved back?
“I want you to tell me that I didn’t wait too long. That me not recognizing what I felt for you isn’t gonna come between us.” - Logan
Can you say serious blue balls. My goodness these two were exhausting. Logan decides to leave town for a job, to try and gather his thoughts. When he returns these two finally get their crap together and it is majorly hot. He decides to open his own studio and quit traveling. Can they make a relationship work and get a HEA?
I have to say I really am loving this series. I love seeing all of the girls and guys and I can’t wait for Carly and Tony’s story. The friendship that they all have is great, such great support for each other. Bree Kraemer has once again pulled me right in with her writing. Thank you for another great read. I highly recommend you 1-click and get started on this great series today.
Capturing Us is the second book in the Cedarville series, and while you could read this as a standalone, I recommend reading the first book before starting this one, just because there is a lot of overlapping between the two. Plus if you love Leah and Brandon, you'll be happy to know that they show up in this one too!! Capturing Us is Melanie and Logan story and I have to say, I was in love with them from the beginning.
Melanie is probably the sweetest person ever, she loves her friends and family, but the studio is the most important thing in her life. She has been dancing since she learned to walk, and has always been there for her. Her life is perfect, well almost perfect, the only thing missing is Logan. She has been in love with him since she was a little girl. She's seeing everyone falling in love and having the most amazng time while falling in love and that's all she wants. She never thinks that Logan will see her like that. But will she tell him that she's in love with him or will she just stay being his friend forever?
Logan is a photographer that travels all over for his job. He's decided that he wants to stay home now for good. He's always had feelings for Melanie but never knew what those feelings really meant. It only takes one terrible thing happening to her to make him realize that he's in love with her. He tries to get close to her but she just pushes him away. Logan decides he needs to prove to Melanie just how much he loves her. Will they decide to try a relationship?
I LOVE this series! Logan and Melanie are an amazing addition to this series, and even though they had some bumps in the road, it only made their love stronger. I can't wait to see what Bree Kraemer comes up with next!!
Capturing Us is the second book in the Cedarville series and I loved it. We knew in book one that Logan and Melanie’s story was going to be good and Bree Kraemer did not let us down. Melanie has been in love with Logan since she was six years old but has always played the friend role since Logan has never looked at her as anything other than a family friend that he got along with. Since his career takes him around the world this has always worked out for her to not get so close. When Logan flips her world upside down by telling everyone that he is home to stay, she instantly starts to push him away. Logan has always had feelings for Melanie but never thought that they ran deeper than a good friend, but when he finds her injured in her house, he realizes that somewhere over the years he fell in love with her and now has decided to stay in Cedarville for good. Things start to heat up quickly for them both and they decided to give this relationship a go but days into it they realize that they will never be able to go slow since they have been waiting on this for years. Right when things seem to be going perfect, an honest, helpful gesture shakes the foundation of their entire relationship. Will they be able to move past this and keep going or will it be over before it even starts? I LOVED Melanie and Logan’s story, it progressed beautifully and even though they had roadblocks along the way they fought together to over come them. I was so proud of Logan when he was given an ultimatum and took the high rode without giving up his moral. I can’t wait for the rest of this series!! This is a definite must read!
Capturing Us (A Cedarville Novel Book 2) By: Bree Kraemer 5 out of 5 stars
The story Capturing Us (A Cedarville Novel Book 2) by Bree Kraemer is a contemporary romance. Melanie has always been in love with Logan Graham even though he drives her crazy. His job took him away from Cedarville for weeks and months at a time so she could put him out of her mind and go on with her life. Now he is back and is making plans to stay. This stirs up feelings and longings that she can’t have, can she?
This next book in the Cedarville series is a look into a romance where both Melanie and Logan finally realize how strong their attraction to each other is. If you have not read book one I would highly recommend it as both characters and references to situations come up from the first book. You will not regret reading either book. Capturing Us is a wonderful story to curl up on the couch and read away the afternoon. You will have a smile on your face with some of the situations that happen. Then you have the steamy love scenes which are just right for the story. I loved the friendship between Melanie and her two best friends. They talk about everything together and if one is having a problem the other two will not hesitate to help. Another subject that comes up is trust. Both of them have to learn to trust one another that what they say they mean, not to second guess or think that they know what is right for the other.
If you love a sweet love story then this is the book for you. Don’t miss out on reading this book. Because of adult language and situations I would recommend this for anyone 18 years or older.
4 of 5 stars The Cedarville series continues with Capturing Us by Bree Kraemer. WOW, I was so excited to read Melanie’s story. It’s such a pretty story. The author gives us such great characters and it was so much fun to read about the trials and tribulations of Melanie and Logan. They have known each other for years. Been best of friends for years. Melanie is a dancer who came home after an injury cut short her professional career. She is not despondent because she really wanted to come home anyway. She loves her town, and her family and friends. Now that she’s opened her dance studio she is happy. Only one thing is missing. Her best friend, who she has been in love with most of her life. If only Logan would cooperate. Logan is a sought after professional photographer who is always traveling for work. He finally realizes his true feelings for Melanie when she’s injured in a break in. He realized he wants to stay home and explore his feelings for Melanie while reconnecting with his family. This story was so great. I truly adored following up with Carly and Leah. I love the friendship between these three women and how it makes them so much stronger together. They hold each other up. This story was such a sweet story with its twists and turns. The author does a fantastic job of laying down this small town story. After reading it, you will feel like you just got back from visiting dear friends and looking forward to going back again. I truly enjoyed the story and look forward to a lot more from this author. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a feel good romance. I cannot wait to read Carly’s story.
Capturing Us is the second book in Cedarville series and it was easy to get back into this group of characters right away. I love this group of characters, their friendship and read how their lives are progressing. I’m already looking forward to the next book and I’m hoping there will be than the three books just so I can keep up with everyone. I love this series.
Melanie is one of the owners of the dance studio where Leah works and has been in love with Logan Graham since they were kids but has never been able to tell him how she feels. They are great friends and he always calls or facetimes with her while on the road. Their relationship is forever changed after Melanie was attacked by Leah’s stalker. Logan finds her and freaks out and after that he won’t leave her alone, he would sleep on her couch, helped get a security system in the house and dance studio and makes sure she was okay and safe.
Logan is unhappy with his professional life, he isn’t enjoying photographing the models and hates traveling for his job and is ready to stay home in Cedarville. He has the revelation that his is attracted to Melanie and wants to start a relationship with her but he isn’t sure how she feels about him. He tries to have his pictures shown in an art gallery in New York but that falls through. He is feeling discouraged when he finally figures out what he is going to do.
It was great to revisit Leah and Brandon and the story between Carly and Tony is going to be a good one and I have a feeling it will be the next one in the series. We also get introduced to Addison, Tony’s sister and could see her finding the love of her life too.
Seriously this book was good. I was so into it that I was finished before my two hour plane ride was over. We get introduced to Mel and Logan in book one. Logan is Brandon’s brother and Mel is a childhood friend. Mel has loved Logan for like forever lol. But when he finally comes home to stay and starts to hover around her she gets angry. She becomes mean and aggressive. She feels that he isn’t doing it because he loves her but because he feels helpless. She hates loving him so much when he doesn’t feel the same. Logan is confused on why Mel hates him so much. Yes he has been with her nonstop but what does she expect when he found her knockout in her house? After that moment his feelings changed and he became aware of his feelings for her. Not just friendship but a love so strong that he had no clue why he didn’t see it before. How two people so involved with each others lives didn’t see their love for each other is beyond me. Everyone knew but them. I understood at the end though. Logan wasn’t ready for what Mel offered. He had so much to prove. Mel wasn’t ready either though her heart was already his. She needed to be in New York and see that the life of a dancer wasn’t for her. What a beautiful story and a great continuation of book one. Book three I am hoping is Carly and Tony's story. Their love will be EPIC. The author has a easy flowing writing style that sucks you in and makes you believe in her words. Definitely puck this book up. If you haven’t read book one do it and come read this one next you wont regret it.
Capturing Us (A Cedaville Novel) by Bree Kraemer 5 Stars
Capturing Us by Bree Kraemer is book 2 in the Cedarville Series. I would recommend reading book 1, An Unexpected Home, first to get to know more in depth of events that are touched on in this book but I also feel it can be read as a standalone. Melanie and Logan have been friends forever. Melanie has been in love with Logan for as long as she can remember. When life threw a curve ball and disaster struck, Logan took care of her and Melanie couldn't take it anymore. A switch had flipped in Logan and he started seeing Melanie in a not so friendly light and in more of a romantic way. Melanie doesn't know what to do and just focuses on her dance studio and trying to move forward. When Logan makes the decision to stay in Cedarville and no longer travel, Melanie is scared and more determined than ever to ignore Logan, which is easier said than done. Logan is a travel photographer who is gone most of the year. When he starts to see things in his life as more important, he decides to make some changes and also try to get the girl. When things start falling into place, some secrets are revealed and they must work through them to come out a better couple because of it. I really enjoyed this book and seeing the group of family and friends. I enjoyed learning more of what Logan was thinking and the reasons for the way he acted in book 1. I cannot wait for Tony and Carly's book I have a feeling they will take me on a roller coaster! Great book, great series and cannot wait for more!
Capturing Us: A Cedarville Novel (Book 2) by Bree Kraemer 5 stars Capturing Us takes place in Cedarville. It’s a small town where everyone knows everyone else’s business and everyone is super nice.
Melanie and her friend Carly own a dance studio called Dragonfly Dance. They worked really hard to bring this dream to fruition. Now Melanie and Carly have welcomed Leah into their life and they are 3 peas in a pod. Melanie has “been in love with Logan f*****g Graham since, well she couldn’t actually remember a time when she didn’t love him.”
Logan Graham is back in Cedarville after some time away. He’s a photographer who always thought of Melanie as a friend until that fateful day that he no longer looked at her in the same way. He has gone from being just a friend to becoming her protector and so much more. “You forget…I know you. Every expression, every crease on your face…I’ve been studying you for years, even if I didn’t know it”.
Watching Logan and Melanie navigate from friends to more and watching Logan turn his dreams into a reality was a joy. “Life was never going to be boring again”.
The Cedarville Series reminds me of a Jill Shalvis or Marie Force series. The small town romance, the recurring characters, the desire to get to know everyone in town. I would classify these as “beach reads” for the summer because they are easy and breezy. This is definitely a series that I would recommend to my mom (as long as she skipped through the sexy parts...hehe)
Melanie has been in love with Logan forever. Even when she left Cedarville for NYC and he was traveling the world as a photographer, he was at the back of her mind. Now she is back home and living her dream of running a dance studio. Problem is, Logan has decided to return and make Cedarville his home again as well and Melanie is desperate to hide her feelings.
I really enjoyed this book. Melanie is someone whom I could identify with immediately. Silently pining for the guy who has her in the "friend zone" or so she thought. Ms. Kraemer's characters including Melanie's best friends Carly and Leah are fun, fresh and people you know in your own life. They are the girlfriends that you run to for advice and when you need a kick in the pants. The men in their lives are great for being the every-day guys with that little something extra that you want.
Well-written, the story takes us through Logan and Melanie realizing that just friends is not nearly enough but are cautious as they dip their feet in the "love pool". I laughed at their interactions from the "no sex" rule to Mel's friends incredulity of said rule to eagerly anticipating when they both let their guards down. I understood and related Melanie's hesitation and even Logan's drive to be good enough for the love of his life. I am very intrigued by the Carly/Tony and will be going back to book 1 to read Leah and Brandon's story.
Overall a good, fun read with the right touch of heat.
Capturing Us is Melanie and Logan’s story. Best friends since they were very young, they each sought their own careers. Logan is now a very famous photographer and Melanie owns a dance studio. They both move back home to Cedarville. Melanie moved home after she graduated from Julliard and Logan when he gets tired of traveling around for his work. What happens when you realize that you are in love with your best friend? Things get heated. After Logan finds Melanie hurt, he stays with her and sees her in a different light. Melanie is a strong willed independent woman, that knows what she wants and how to go about it. When she tells her friends that she loves Logan, they try to get her to tell him how she feels. When he has to go away for a week for work, he doesn’t tell Melanie and she gets upset. While he is away, he texts and face times Melanie and they build a relationship. After clearing the air when there is a misunderstanding, they finally pursue what everyone else knew would happen. Their friends and family are happy that they are together. Bree Kraemer is a very talented woman who writes about friends and love. Sometimes those two things don’t go together but Ms. Kraemer has an exceptional writing style that melds the two together. She writes about friends finding love with each other and how that isn’t a bad thing but can be a wonderful thing in itself. Ms. Kraemer is one of those rare authors who will make you fall in love with the characters and their stories.
O.M.G! I just have to start my review with an O.M.G!! This is the 2nd book in Bree Kraemer’s Cedarville series. I read the first novel, “ An unexpected home”. I don't feel that you have to read that one first however I think it does help with some character background and information. In this book we start with Melanie; a dance instructor that is just one of a best friend trio of girls. Melanie has a love hate relationship with her childhood best friend, Logan Graham. She has had feelings of more than friendship for Logan for awhile. Not knowing how that will go down if it changes or is known. She's been hell bent on being rude, angry and just snarky around Logan hoping it can mask her true feelings. Logan has always been a traveler with his career. Staying away on business not really being home. An event takes place that involves Melanie which makes him notice Melanie in a whole new light. She's not the same girl he grew up with. She turns into so much more. Not knowing how to justify these new found emotions he tries to leave again. His feelings overcome him and he does what he can to make sure Melanie knows it too. These two kids are a beautiful, HOT ride. I really enjoyed being on. I was unsure how Ms. Kraemer could write a sizzling novel in it's series, but I was shocked! She knocked this one out of the park! I fell in love with two more characters from her Cedarville series. Can't wait for more.
In Capturing Us, a Cedarville Novel book 2 by Bree Kraemer, we get to witness the relationship between Melanie and Logan. Coming home after an injury, Melanie knew this was here she was supposed to be. Now with a studio with her best friend, she is happier than she was in the big city. Too bad that is all coming crashing on top of her with the return of Logan Graham. Logan knew he was tired of all the traveling and ready to return to his hometown and start building his life there. He just never expected to have friendship with Melanie to be turned upside down. When clarity is right in front of him will he decide to start over and stay or leave again. Logan was always the one for Melanie, but all she ever got from him was being his best friend. Melanie was the friend he always called when bored or homesick on the road. Somewhere along the way without him even realizing it his feelings about his friend changed, but with every relationship comes bumps and this story lets us experience Logan and Melanies. I love friends to lovers stories and this one is no different. From the very beginning you are pulling for them. Especially when facing difficulties most couples go through. this is a fun read with very little drama. Being that I am use to more suspense in a story this was a nice break from my usual. I do recommend reading book one, not only for the fact you will be confused at parts, but this whole series is truly awesome!
*** WARNING SPOILERS *** Capturing Us by Bree Kraemer receives 4 stars from me! Capturing Us is the second book in the Cedarville series. This book features Melanie and Logan as the main characters. They have known each other for their entire lives, Melanie pines after Logan and Logan sees Melanie as a close friend. After surviving the backlash of Leah moving to town and Melanie being attacked the pair have grown closer. Logan recognizes his feelings for Melanie but every time e tries to act on it she pushes him away. Melanie loves Logan but cannot endure him getting close only for him to continue to not share her feelings. When it seems like they're at a stalemate Logan gets an idea and goes on a work trip. Melanie decides to tell Logan how she feels hoping it will get him to stay in town. Can these two ever get together or will it be a “little too late” type of situation? Will Logan's plan work, blow up in his face or will it just push Melanie even farther away? Per usual Bree had me hooked from the first page and wanting the book to never end! Very well written, Bree has a talent for keeping you enraptured till the very end! If you are looking for a great series the Cedarville series is one I would definitely recommend. If you have not read the first book, An Unexpected Home, please do and then read Capturing Us! I promise this will become your favorite series after the first chapter!
Melanie and Logan are the type of friends that should be a couple everyone else around them knows it but them. They both love each other have since they were kids but both too afraid to voice their affection. Finally it happens though Melanie thinks that Logan is leaving for a long time on a photography assignment and goes off on him. When come to find out he will be gone a week. During that time is when things get extra steamy during a facetime session and their relationship status soon changes. While Logan is on assignment he realizes he no longer wants to travel but show his work in a gallery while meeting with a Prominent front runner of the art scene he refuses her ultimatum and black list him. The girls find out and immediately jump into action with all of their contacts in the dance and art world.
When Logan returns home he has a better idea why not open a gallery right there in Cedarville? There is a great space downtown that is for sale and he decides to go for it. He also decides to take things slow in the beginning of his new relationship with Melanie…...slow lasts about 4 dates. He realizes no matter what this is the girl he is going to marry and grow old with.
I love Bree’s writing in these books draws you right in like you are right along side the characters for the story. Also she can intermix old characters and parts of the previous book without it feeling redundant. Can’t wait for the next one.
Capturing Us ( A Cedarville Novel, #2) by Bree Kraemer is definitely a 4.5 star read for me!! Melanie has been in love with Logan for as far back as she can remember. They have been each other's best friend for that same amount of time. When Mel was hurt by an intruder, Logan realizes that he can not be away from her, he needs to protect her and make sure she is safe. Melanie always new that she would end up back in their hometown in Ohio no matter what. Logan had a career that took him all over the world. Mel used that time when he was away to get her mind on track, out of sight out of mind. The only problem was, Logan was never far from her thoughts. When Logan decides to settle down in their hometown, how can Mel keep her feelings under control? After they both acknowledge that they have feelings for each other, they decide to give an actual romantic relationship a shot. Logan knows that he is over traveling and wants to set up roots in Cedarville. He decides to open up a gallery. Mel doesn't think he will be satisfied staying put but he finally makes her see it from his point of view. A life long friendship turn romance. This book was one of the best that I have read in a while. I am so looking forward to seeing the entire gang again when we find out what is going to happen between Carly and Tony.
This book is worth 10 Stars… I thought the first book in this series was wonderful but this book is even better. Logan is just a HOT, loving, caring, sweet guy and I loved reading about him. He is the perfect book boyfriend. In the first book he and Melanie had been really close friends all their life and then she got hurt when someone broke into her house and from that moment on Logan made it his mission in life to take care of her and make sure she was okay. It was starting to annoy Melanie because she knew she had feelings for Logan all of her life and she was having a hard time hiding those feelings from him so she started being mean to him. It broke Logan’s heart because he cared so much about her as a friend. This book goes on with the story and gives a lot of background about Logan’s career as a photographer and Melanie’s story as a dancer and now a business owner of a dance studio in town. The story also talks about characters from the first book, Brandon and Leah and also Carly and their friend Tony. I love reading this story and didn’t want to stop until I got to the end because the author kept me guessing what was going to happen next and everything would be great one minute and then things would totally flip upside down. Such an amazing author and great book. Looking forward to more.
Capturing Us is book two in the Cedarville series by Bree Kreamer. A reader doesn't have to read book 1 to understand but there is some back story in that book. We meet Melanie and Logan. They live in a small town. Melanie has loved Logan since childhood. We see how they were best friends and became more. Melanie is a dancer that recently opened a studio with her 2 friends Leah and Carly. Through the whole process she had her friends and her best friend ,who she wishes was more, Logan. Then we meet Logan he is a photographer. He travels all over the world to get his beautiful pictures. But through all his travels his heart always was at home in the little town of Cedarville. He would make sure he was in constant contact with Melanie. The voice in his head ; he's not crazy I promise; tells him it's time to come home so he finally makes that journey home. Through a series of misunderstandings and avoidance it takes Melanie and Logan a while to finally see that they have loved each other throughout the years. Will staying at home help sink or swim their relationship? We see that Logan wants to be the person he deems is good enough for Melanie. He sets out in a course of enlightenment with what he wants to ultimately do with his career. I give this books a five star rating. I can't wait until I see what the author has planned for Carly.
Capturing Us by Bree Kraemer is the second novel in the Cedarville series. This is my second novel I've read by this author.
This is the story of Melanie, who is the best friend of Carly and Leah who we meet in the first book.
Taking place two months after the first book, Melanie had been in love with Logan Graham for years. They've known each other since childhood.
When Logan, who is photographer, decides he no longer wants to travel but build a life in Cedarville, he takes one more job which causes Mel to confess her feelings.
When he comes back, he tells he can't be with her which confuses Melanie. Is Logan making a mistake?
I really enjoyed this book more than the first one. I loved Logan and Melanie's from friends to lovers. And while they know everything about each other there is still more for them to understand about the other.
It was great seeing Leah and Brandon again. And seeing how their relationship was progressing.
Logan and Melanie's relationship felt a little rushed because they knew each other it felt real. It made sense that they would be unsure of each other feelings and not what want to move too quickly. At least Logan did not.
I enjoyed the friendship between Leah, Melanie and Carly even though Carly was going through issues of her own.
Capturing Us was a warm and light hearted story. It is the second book in Bree Kramer’s Cedarville series, however it can be read as a stand alone novel. It follows the story of Melanie and Logan. Melanie is strong and independent, but has had a soft spot for Logan Graham since she was little. Logan has been everywhere and seen everything, but is ready to slow down. When he sees Melanie get hurt, suddenly all he can think about is protecting her. But he's unsure if they'll be able to keep their lifelong friendship when they add romance to the mix.
I was a little underwhelmed with this story. I loved Ms. Kramer’s first book in this series, An Unexpected Home, and this book was written just as beautifully. The writing and descriptions were wonderfully thought out and the plot flowed easily. I had no trouble connecting with the characters and diving into the story. I personally just felt that the plot was a little anti-climactic. I think that may just be a personal preference for me, as I like to see a bit of drama in a story. However, for Logan and Melanie, there was no big bad guy or threat for them to overcome. It was still really nice to come back to a group of characters I enjoy. They are really fun to read, and I cannot wait to see what kind of mischief Carly can bring out in her story.
